Dieseled Dragon
United States
Приєднався 3 жов 2021
I am Dieseled Dragon. The main focus of the channel is to show all the hard work that goes into a rusted out or neglected vehicle in order to bring it back to life to something worth driving. Most of the projects that will be tackled on this channel will be custom resto mods. I find that original cars tend to be boring with no personality. However, at times I may keep things original, but it would be rare. Also, although not the primary focus of the channel, there may at times be how to's on routine maintenance of vehicles.

How much did you pay for that $500 truck?
Why do you care? It’s not like I’m selling it
@ I’m just busting your chops. I would keep it too if it was my dad’s truck. I wouldn’t sink too much money in it because of the rusted wind shield, but it’s a good farm truck.
It’s actually going to be a parts truck to help out 2 of my other projects , the 1990 f350 dually and the 1955 f100. Will be future videos on those swaps
@ If that was my dad’s truck, I would fix it. A body shop can fix the rust on the wind shield, the rest of the body panels can be replaced from junk yard trucks. I just went to a junk yard this week here in Austin, and they had enough body panels from totaled trucks, to fix your truck.
Nah it’s not like that with this truck, I traded an old boat to my dad for it, he knew my intentions with the truck when we made the trade. It was going to be a work truck for my landscaping business but we have since found the f350 dually with the 7.3 Idi that could use a power stroke swap. There’s videos on getting that one running as well. My focus is at the moment is the Cummins suburban swap, and maybe some quick videos after on the vette and scout before I circle back around and work on that swap
LS Swap that Suburban.
Just posted the reveal of what’s going in the Suburban
This video was so enjoyable! Your passion really shines through
Wow, what an amazing perspective! I loved every minute.
Dam how the heck are these people finding these vehicles so cheap and are able to afford to fix them I'd love to have it to pull a camper and yes diseal and Allison 6 speed auto and finally get to go see America in a real American vehicle!!! But I don't think disability is going to pay for the camper and vehicle I've got a budget figured out if I only get 9 miles per gallon if I get more great
I purchased this one about 3 years ago. After seeing what the engine looks like in this video I definitely overpaid. But all the Suburbans in the 67-72 year range I could find were about the same price, and this one was the only one with the lift rear gate like I wanted, the others were barn door style
Hellcat swap that suburban
That has definitely crossed my mind a few times, however the hellcat has a TR6060 behind it, and I need this to one to be an automatic so the family can drive it from time to time
@@DieseledDragon you can always get an auto trans to put with it💁
I could, but I do have a plan for the Suburban that is already under way. Next video wont reveal that plan directly, but itll be in the Suburban playlist
I had that same car in high school and I loved it
yep, they are fun to drive, this is one i will never let go
This is so fire
It is, be sure to stay tuned as there will major changes revealed in a future video
@@DieseledDragon awesome ! 💯 Keep it up man

You are great
All video is very excellent
Very nice I like it
Hello sir I am Rakib Rahman. I am an SEO Expert. I can grow your youtube channel very fast
Sounds like one cylinder isn't firing. As far as burning 8year old diesel, I revived a similar truck after sitting 10 years and ran the 10 year old diesel. It's possible, however, that there could be water and algae in it.
def a miss, but will address that later. I did start part two today, and put it back on the tank, fired right up with the old diesel
7.3 idi, not even a question. Bulletproof engine.
Sorry to say but that thing definitely has a valve problem, you can hear it ticking when it was running and every time it would tick it was misfiring......
I heard it, almost thought it was a rod knock, but first start in 8 years, it takes some time for everything to come back around after startup
Setup looks good! Can’t wait to see a part two.
More to come!
Just watched it. Great video. Need to see part two where this thing is moving on its own power.
I'm working on it

Thinking about buying a 1974 October 2+2 Monza V8 with 64k km for about 5k euro
wow they go for alot more over there than they would here. The one in this video is sentimental to me, but if it wasnt, and was just a random car i saw on marketplace I wouldnt give more than $500
Any follow up on this project?
Moving shops, the new shop is just a few weeks from being ready, has had several delays
Appreciate it. I currently just pulled my father-in-laws 1963 GMC from where it has sat the place since 1970, out of the lineup. My son wants to restore it (just turned driving age) and I am all for it, so now the "fun" begins.
@@GunsAndThe701 nice, they are just as fun to work on as they are to drive. My kids are already making claims for theirs at only 5 and 8 lol. As far as this Scout, its not at the front of the list for when i start making videos again. Im choosing to do a return video on either a 1990 7.3 idi or 70 Suburban, not sure which yet. The Scout will def get done though, it turns out it could be a 1 of 1 Sportop Convertible
Also have a 1963 Scout II. It runs great and a buddy of mine has it at his place. Just needs some minor restoration work, but it's licensed and runs down the road, not the most fuel efficient though, and it has the V8
I have a 68. daily driver. friggin love the thing. smells, rattles, shakes, and rolls me.
More burnout shorts!!!!
I like mustings😋
Do you still have this vehicle and will you sell it I’ve been looking for one and would like to know cuz you have the exact model and I love this vehicle
this is one of two vehicles that have great sentimental value to me, and would never sell
@@DieseledDragon ok sounds good
@@DieseledDragonok but please make more videos of the Monza no one makes any videos for that type and I’d love to watch
Ill definitely have more with the monza, but it may be a while, be sure to subscribe so you get notifications when new videos are posted. Main delay in videos right now is due to waiting on my shop to get built, the foundation is down, but could be another 4 weeks until the shop is up, then electrical and insulation. Monza is on the list to get done, but there are other cars ahead of it on the list
wow,...thanx for sharing.
no problem, be sure to subscribe and check out my other builds
Sponsored videos on UA-cam are so lame
good thing this one has no sponsors i suppose
@@DieseledDragonthe first suggested video on the home tab is always a “sponsored” video and it’s always something random you have no interest in
This video has no sponsors, i'm no where big enough to have sponsors. Promoted, yes i am paying youtube to promote this video and grow my channel a little , but no one is paying me for my video nor parts within my video, at least not yet.
@@DieseledDragon lol I never said this video has sponsors but the video itself is sponsored that’s why it was the first suggestion on my home page. It’s great you can do that but I wish I could turn that shit off
Wheres part 2?
Waiting on the new shop to get built, part 2 will revealing what i discovered about this one. This one is turns out to be very rare
@@DieseledDragon sounds good man. Thanks for the update.
I sat inside brand new Scouts, circa 1970, when i was a kid.S,K, and M Implement Corporation. The mechanic told me not to turn the key to on or start, because i'd run the battery down! The sticker price was about $4500.00
The Monza Towne Coupe's Rule !!!!!! And theit a BigTime Sleeper ❤ I have a Big Block Monza Towne Coupe. ❤
Nice, you don’t see many monzas and the ones you do aren’t likely to be a coupe. I do have a 454 sitting around waiting to get dropped in this one
Crazy how you could theoretically still sell that body for thousands. Definitely worth every penny to repair.
Yep the patina is nice on this one, just need to find a good hood to match it
ICI was possiblly Imperial Chemical Industry originated in Britain
that logo matches pretty close, looks like that may be it
@@DieseledDragon I'm British blood...so I think so hee hee
I've owned a '68 800 and a '69 800A. They were both nothing but piles of rust. They were rusting in show rooms. You would park them in the garage, and you would hear them rusting away. The body mounts finally gave up. No replacements. Went to the scrap yard. Shame! Yours looks to be a two wheel drive version. Useless in my book.
i only have one to go by, but its not any more rusted than any other classic car, this particular one is a 1 of 1, ill give specifics in a future video
🤔
:-O
Love these things, good stuff & nice work! This is the first sponsored vid in my feed I've ever not intentionally avoided so congrats for whatever that's worth. Hope your kickback to UA-cam for this pays dividends brother. Can never get enough restoration videos of sexy vehicles!
Thank you, can’t wait to start working on this one again, just waiting on the new shop
YES, I believe the pony will start AND run!!! 🐎
Wasnt able to in this video, but ill tear down that 289 in a future video to find out what the damage is
I LOVE MUSTANGS BOTH kinds!! 😍😚 😙 ❤🐎 🐎 🐎 ❤💋👄
POP!
That Pop! Then 😮🫡
If that is a "very sentimental car" to you, I'd hate to see what one you didn't give a rat's ass about looks like.
Funny way to say that you have no vision
I guess it’s GM and Ford cars that you could put together because Toyota last forever
these arent gas saving commuters
I used to have a 78 Monza 2+2 I swapped a 1971 Impala 350 into and an 80 Monza Town Coupe I swapped a 72 Monte Carlo 350 into. Your video brings back memories of both. I put an Edelbrock TM1 intake on my 78 Monza and it had factory exhaust manifolds like yours does. It had overheating problems with that thin 2 row radiator. Surprised your cooled with a thin radiator. I noticed your alternator moved when you turned the belts by hand. Mine had the factory AC alt bracket that mounted the alt in the center top near the water pump. The 71 350 I had in the 78 Monza cracked because the block froze. Like you I drained the water pump, but there is still water in the block you have to pull the block drain plugs to get all of it out. I used the unique v8 Monza parts from the first Monza project to build my 80 Town Coupe. This time I used the 1 1/2" Hooker headers and had a stock 2 row rad re-cored and used a pusher electric fan. This 350 had a Performer intake and a Comp Cams 268H high energy camshaft. It ran 105 mph in the quarter and got into the high 13s on 175/80R13 snow tires.
Glad to bring back memories! I dont recall having overheating issues with this one, i did have the new radiator i in it, if memory recalls correctly it was a vette radiator, not sure what year. Biggest thing i remember is that it leaked about 2 quarts of oil a day going to and from work lol. I have big plans for this one, going to have that original frame from the 67 vette that needs a home after i move the body over to that Rothspeed frame. and i got a couple 454 blocks laying around.

My bro has a Scout and Scout truck.
They are pretty cool little trucks, im about to do a big reveal about this particular one. Just waiting on one more part.
Did you know a jeep 4.0 fits in there with no motor mount swap
I did not, but ill def consider one when the time comes, might make a poll on here
Not true for this scout. Only those that came originally with the AMC 232.
I have a 66 sport had the same motor, I’m currently swapping in a international 266 v8
if you have any spare sportop specific parts let me know, im searching
@@DieseledDragon what are you lookin for specifically?
the sporttop specific rear seat, rear quarter trim left and right, the metal plate that that sits right above the tailgate, and the sportop soft top w glass
@@DieseledDragon pretty rare I’ve seen 2 in the past 2 years. I’m lookin for the rear seat also price wise might as well find a rear seat out of a jeep or a rear seat from bestop. As for the top I’m not sure on the soft top but my sport top is fiber glass.
Glad you are back. 2 more months will be worth the wait. Also it will give you time to dust everything off. Its good your shop will be right out your back door. Not going anywhere Marines are patient people. Stay safe.
