John Bonham was Zeppelin’s drummer, his death was the reason the band stopped performing. The drummer in this here was Jason Bonham, John’s son. He’s playing his dad’s drum set and doing his best to replicate dad’s performance. Jason’s appearance was a surprise to Zeppelin and they were very touched. And thanks for your great reaction!
When the full choir appeared wearing bowler hats, which was Jon Bonham (Bonzo) signature hat, and Jason was also wearing the hat, LZ members recognized the nod to their old friend and band mate. The entire performance was superlative!
Jason Bonham requested that Ann and Nancy Wilson play the interpretive cover along side him...one of the greatest LZ cover bands as well a great band themselves. "Heart"! You can see when the drapes come up on the choir wearing "bowler derbies", it looks like Robert Plant turns to Page and says OMG...
"Hey, Shane Fontayne, we need you to play THE most legendary guitar solo ever, in front of The Legend himself - and he WILL study your performance. No pressure!!"
No, the drummer was John Bonham’s son, Jason. John died of a drug overdose which ultimately led to the demise of the band. They felt no one could replace him.
The story goes that Robert Plant had invited Jason Bonham to sit with the band in the honorees' box, and Jason declined because he "had a can't-miss gig" that night. Plant cried because this WAS the "can't-miss gig"!
It never ceases to amaze me that Ann Wilson was 62 years old when she belted out this song!

Plant tears because he saw Jason played drums not tears because of Heart..
Wow, what a gift! To know the reason why Robert Plant has tears in his eyes. Simply amazing!
Wow a psychic person!
