Holy crap....Rob's knowledge here was incredible! And also, whether you like Chapman guitars or not, you have to respect how instantly and well Rob knew it. Goes to show that he is genuinely involved in and passionate about the product. Great video!
I'd be(a) a lot more worried if he didn't love his guitar brand's guitars. I like how they make guitars they love themselves and not making them for some focus group.
Chappers, when a designer can pick up his design blindfolded and instantly recognise it, that gets respect not hatred. That's also a good advert for the factory that they realised your design so accurately you can tell it from the feel.
To be fair, many of these guitars and pickups have very distinctive features to them that makes it a dead giveaway. Like he was able to pickout the Chapman guitar, because he designed it, obviously. And Ibanez guitars have very flat and thin necks that make it obvious that it's an Ibanez. EMG and Seymour Duncan are very common pickups to have in those types guitars, as well, so it really is safe bet to just go with whatever one of the two you think you hear and it's likely you'll be correct. It's still absolutely impressive on how exact and confident he was (Assuming it's not scripted as the other guy said, I don't believe it is at least.) but it's not like it takes some sort of samurai-esque skills to make an educated guess.
Rob should do a blindfold challenge where he has to play signature guitars and not only guess the guitar, but who's signature guitar it is and he gets bonus points if he gets the colour right as well. Rob is not allowed to research the guitars beforehand either.
Andertons channel continues to be my favorite guitar channel. There's something really entertaining about the Captain ripping guitars out of Rob's hands. LOVE all of the blindfold challenges. Every. Single. One. Rob's ears are really well developed.
I am crying at the editing I'm laughing so hard. When he puts the Sun on the screen with Rob blocking it I lost it. Gosh I love these videos. Rob and Lee are hilarious as well.
Nothing wrong with picking your own guitar as your favorite. You literally designed it, so of course it's going to fit your desired 'feel'. Great video, I love these longer ones.
This was superbly edited! Great job!!! I’d watch these all day... so impressed with Chapman’s ability to not just play blindfolded but to know what he is playing!
Why do people give them a hard time when they use chapman guitars? Would you spend your life traveling all over the world, time away from your family, etc to build guitars that you dont like? I dont think they like them BECAUSE they build them...i think they build guitars they like.
to be fair, they are fantastic guitars regardless of your bias. the value for money is incredible and they really did a great job of putting it where it mattered. spending my own money, i'd be getting the ml1 pro from this list.
I’ve got a l/h ML 1 Pro. By far the most comfortable playing guitar I’ve ever owned (and my main gigging guitar). Over lockdown I’ve dropped a set of Saymour Duncan’s in it & love it even more now...
It says super strat in the description. I have noticed, maybe with orders from Fender, people dont use the word Strat unless there is genuine Fenders there. "S type" is the term used a lot.
Some of the best editing on YT. Unquestionably the best on this kind of show. Amazing work fellas ...as for the (purple) rain man... just amazing.... and that’s why I’m considering a Chapman for my next guitar.
Lots of respect for Rob's discernment skills, which are so refined it's almost frightening. And I busted up laughing when Lee ripped that first guitar out of his hands.
I just love the moment when he is given the RG and after playing 4 notes he says "Hello ibanez!" And the fact that he can always pick his own brand from the line up is astonishing! AND the way he can pick out EMG's from the rest... how?! Just goes to show how well he knows his guitars and that he is really involved and passionate about his own brand! Love it!
How about a string preference challenge. I can't remember if you've done this before. Omfg Rob said it when I was typing this lol!!!! He explained it exactly as I thought it as well. Please throw in Elixir as I believe they are the absolute best. I literally tried every string brand on the wall at my local store. Even the bright colored packaged ones.
Completely agree. They also never change in feeling. Every other string gets brittle. Some almost hours after their stretch in. I also never 'stretch' my strings. I only tune them. Never pull on them other then bends lol.
Great show guys as usual and congratulations Rob on champman coming to guitar center would love it if you could do a national tour we would love to meet you in Colorado
I love that Rob picked out his Chapman guitars... I have played one before and think they are very high quality for the money. They have a definite feel to them. Good job guys! Very entertaining videos!
I wouldn’t call any of those “pointy.” Maybe a Jackson Kelly, Dean V/Z/ Razorback, anything BC Rich (I know they don’t carry those it’s just an example). LTD has the FRX why not one of those? I might have titled this Super Strat or Hair Metal. Semantics, I know. In the end still very enjoyable.
Now it says 'Super Strat', when I first saw it it said 'pointy guitars' but the "they changed it" comment was already posted then ....weird. Was the title something else again at first?
I was going to write the very same thing (well, would write it as "Charvel") but how on earth you guys didn't throw one in there? It's not like you don't carry 'em, right? Anyways, cool video as always. Cheers.
I love this channel!!! Dont change what you're doing, or let the trolls bully the chapman brand. I play jackson and Ibanez and the trolls can take a long walk off a short pier.
Andertons Music Co Can't wait, keep up the good job with making great content. Someday, if I ever travel to the UK, Andertons will definitely be on my trip route.
Blindfolded Semi-hollows (Gibson, Epiphone, Gretsch, Ibanez, Duesenberg, etc.). Lots of options out there and something not covered as often as the Strat, Tele, Les Paul, etc. style guitars. Maybe with Pete?
How about a blindfolded challenge where Bea/Pete/Joss plays 5 different guitars from different companies, and Rob and Lee have to guess what they are just from the sound. Could be quite interesting...
Like many others have commented, I'm just in awe of Rob's uncanny ability to distinguish between pickups and brands instantly. It's is utterly amazing.
Rob is amazing at listening and knowing what it is. That’s crazy. Heck, I’d be struggling to even play without looking once in awhile to make sure my hands are in the right place. Very impressive.
I'm going to recommend excluding Chapmans in future, but not for the reasons others may be saying. It's almost a no-win situation for you. If you get it wrong, everyone will shit on you. If you don't pick it as your top choice you'll get shit on for not liking your own guitar the best. Yeah they're in a weird predicament, basically whatever they do is wrong. Though I can't confirm on the quality of Chapman guitars, only I assume that it is great because it's from Korea same as my kh602.
Ryan Tervo I personally have no issue with it either. I was just watching and thinking wow it'd be embarrassing if he shit on the chapman just as he said it. Then it just struck me - wow they're really opening themselves up. And bare in mind- i too am a fan.
I have no issues with whatever guitars they use, as long as the test is done properly, which has never happened since they started with these videos. There's a ton of bias being introduced (One example being Rob not liking a guitar he liked when he played as soon as Lee was playing it. Another being Lee telling Rob how the guitars will sound.), too many "hints" on Lee's part and...You can't participate in making the test if you are the person being tested. Period.
back in the 80's we often referred to "pointy" guitars as guitars having pointy headstocks..... so yes, V's and Explorers fell into that category too... Mostly it was referring to Jacksons, Charvels, BC Rich's, ESP's, Kramers, and such...
Rob's idea of a blindfold strings challenge sounds WAY too cool! Four different brands of strings of identical gauge and similar build on four different, but identical guitars!
Holy crap....Rob's knowledge here was incredible! And also, whether you like Chapman guitars or not, you have to respect how instantly and well Rob knew it. Goes to show that he is genuinely involved in and passionate about the product. Great video!
Yep, same with the LTDs, Ibanez. Pickups... That was impressive
Couldn’t agree more, he’s a genuine guitar man
Pre biases go a long way in testing.
titus chalk he’s played so many guitars
I'd be(a) a lot more worried if he didn't love his guitar brand's guitars. I like how they make guitars they love themselves and not making them for some focus group.
Chappers, when a designer can pick up his design blindfolded and instantly recognise it, that gets respect not hatred. That's also a good advert for the factory that they realised your design so accurately you can tell it from the feel.
This is the internet. People here tend to hate everything and be jealous of people who are better than them.
noturusualtypeofblues 100%
Rob is scarily good at sussing out which guitars he's getting and what pickups, etc; it's insane.
tusskmusic or he has 20+ years experience as a guitarist and knows the difference in feel between each guitar and pickup type?
To be fair, many of these guitars and pickups have very distinctive features to them that makes it a dead giveaway. Like he was able to pickout the Chapman guitar, because he designed it, obviously. And Ibanez guitars have very flat and thin necks that make it obvious that it's an Ibanez. The ESP/LTD thin U necks and Ibanez Wizard necks are really really easy to identify as they are consistent.
yes
The Real A.S.P and at one point the colour because he smelled it
Set chapman blindfolded in a chair and give him absolutely nothing for 25 minutes.
That'd would drive him stir batty crazy, lol!
Then he guesses the brand of the chair at minute 12 and everybody goes nuts.
That's an April Fools video in the making.
Yes! More blindfold challenges.
Rob should do a blindfold challenge where he has to play signature guitars and not only guess the guitar, but who's signature guitar it is and he gets bonus points if he gets the colour right as well. Rob is not allowed to research the guitars beforehand either.
Yes please, this wuld be great!
yeah, definitely [el'sda2]
I second this!
It would be so hard though.....
Change that to "only listens to similar recordings of different guitars and Lee doesn't know which is which". Then let's see who has the knowledge.
whoever is editing these vids is doing a good job.
How the hell can someone play two notes on a guitar and go: "hello ibanez!".
He figured that one out with the feel of the neck alone.
Ibanez just feels like ibanez
@@mcbrodz1663 yup Wizard necks have a really distinct feel imo
i have 2 ibanez’ and reckon i probably would be able to tell, at least with an rg
Wizard necks are really really different compare to anything else
Robs ear and familiarity with guitars is uncanny.
He is the guitar whisperer
Yessssssssssss! Guitar channels on UA-cam are on fire today
what else mate? gimmie the scoop.
I love these channels
"See it's absolutely a Chapman, and uh, yea I like it" 😂😂
Andertons channel continues to be my favorite guitar channel.
I love how Kirk made a guitar that looks like a Louis Vuitton bag. So metal.
Louis Vitton makes a bag covered in demonology glyphs?
Luxurious crap is always demonic, so that makes sense ; )
Dead Hand Blues Look at Post Malone telecaster, literally a Louis Vuitton guitar
the only difference is that the guitar is cheaperXD
It looks like a toy. Hello Kitty-ish.
Nothing wrong with picking your own guitar as your favorite. You literally designed it, so of course it's going to fit your desired 'feel'. Great video, I love these longer ones.

With Chapper I sort of understand, but that should only be an objection to him using them in challenges in the future, not Andertons as a whole.
For the same reason you'd criticize Henning if he only used Harley Benton guitars in his reviews.
Blindfold challenge for Steve Vai. A bunch of random guitars... and a JEM. Comprende?
to be fair, they are fantastic guitars regardless of your bias. the value for money is incredible and they really did a great job of putting it where it mattered. spending my own money, i'd be getting the ml1 pro from this list.
I’ve got a l/h ML 1 Pro. By far the most comfortable playing guitar I’ve ever owned (and my main gigging guitar). Over lockdown I’ve dropped a set of Saymour Duncan’s in it & love it even more now...
When Cap was counting down and ended with the middle finger, that really cracked me up for some reason XD.
Great vid by the way.
I love that John Mayer picture! I love it!
Rob's abilities to identify guitars, and even more impressive, pickups, is amazing.
with that title i expected V and Explorer type guitars. maybe next time?
They renamed the video I think, because in my notification it says super strat blindfold challenge
It says super strat in the description. I have noticed, maybe with orders from Fender, people dont use the word Strat unless there is genuine Fenders there. "S type" is the term used a lot.
Trouble with Vs is how you sit may give it away (or at least narrow it down). 😕
🤢
@@stefancroes yes I only have 3 years but why is this video not named S style like they did on the T style.
Some of the best editing on YT. Unquestionably the best on this kind of show. Amazing work fellas ...as for the (purple) rain man... just amazing.... and that’s why I’m considering a Chapman for my next guitar.
even blindfolded the Chappers rocks
I’ve been watching y’all videos for years and the progression of the video room alone is just amazing. Keep up the awesome work guys!
The blindfolded string challenge sounds great!
Lots of respect for Rob's discernment skills, which are so refined it's almost frightening. And I busted up laughing when Lee ripped that first guitar out of his hands.
See folks ,Rob knows his shite , right on good ear
This was absolute gold! Thank you so much for the entertainment!
Uk vs USA amps ... can you guess the amp/brand and country
Harley Stephenson not that hard tbh
I just love the moment when he is given the RG and after playing 4 notes he says "Hello ibanez!" And the fact that he can always pick his own brand from the line up is astonishing! AND the way he can pick out EMG's from the rest... how?! Just goes to show how well he knows his guitars and that he is really involved and passionate about his own brand! Love it!
I'm actually glad to see a Chapman in the mix and to see that Rob can dead on nail his guitar in a shootout with only 20 seconds of playing.
Chappers knows his guitars man. That's an ESP with EMGs in it. Man you are good.
Love those blindfold videos!
If he starts playing a crazy solo, you know he immediately recognized the chapman guitar
And the esp/ltd one
Great video and the edit is hilarious!
Elixir ftw! Only strings I use. Sound great and last ages!
Completely agree. They also never change in feeling. Every other string gets brittle. Some almost hours after their stretch in. I also never 'stretch' my strings. I only tune them. Never pull on them other then bends lol.
Nyxl all day also robs favorite strings
ph0kused I’ve not tried those, but I don’t have an electric at the moment.
ph0kused I tried them and liked them actually but they were just too bright for me. But the feel was all there.
Great show guys as usual and congratulations Rob on champman coming to guitar center would love it if you could do a national tour we would love to meet you in Colorado
You tuned misha’s guitar to standard? Blasphemy!
Kirk Wahmmet he used your signature esp without a wah even more Blasphemy!
The cheek of it!
Wow he’s good
Watch Mark Dice's video where he exposes Kirk Hammet as a whiny SJW snowflake
These videos are infinitely entartaining. We want more, thank you. By the way, production value is going up with every post. Keep it going. Great job
"Pick the cutest child.... but one of them is yours!" Dilemma.
I love that Rob picked out his Chapman guitars... I have played one before and think they are very high quality for the money. They have a definite feel to them. Good job guys! Very entertaining videos!
“Fiddlesticks.” Nearly made me spew my supper. 🤣
Sugar...t
I love your guys' channel so much! Seriously my favorite on all of UA-cam! Please don't ever stop.
Can you do one with some funky shaped guitars like Vs, Explorers, and Warlocks
That was really fun. Great job chappers. We love you (ya)!!
Oh hey they changed it xD
Say what you will about them but they're pretty good at listening to their fanbase
The headstocks are mostly pointy.
Now it says 'Super Strat', when I first saw it it said 'pointy guitars' but the "they changed it" comment was already posted then ....weird.
Was the title something else again at first?
Dan Adrian we know the truth. #staywoke
GREAT Video! Rob is amazing. And Gratz on the Guitar Center deal. I look forward to checking out the line of guitars at GC!
No Charvell in this video???!!
Brunchi Radu That surprised me.
Chris Rennolds me too
I was going to write the very same thing (well, would write it as "Charvel") but how on earth you guys didn't throw one in there? It's not like you don't carry 'em, right?
Anyways, cool video as always. Cheers.
Hey Andertons Team, I really really love these Blindfold Challenge videos :) Thanks a lot, you guys rock. PLEASE MORE!!!
Lee discovering how fingers work killed me
Rob you was amazing on this challenge! What a knowledge!
It's almost as good as the Gibson/Epi challenge where Rob even guessed the color of one correctly....crazy
Love these blindfold challenges. Robs knowledge is amazing.
6:23 a little bit of mr. bean right there, aye captain?
This is why Rob made his own guitar company. He's scarily good at distinguishing particular guitars. Mad respect. Fun video!
Chappers with semi-hollow guitars. Which one will he say is best?
The gretsch he wound up buying haha
Love the blindfold challenges. Fair play to Rob on him nailing the guitars/pickups etc
I love this channel!!! Dont change what you're doing, or let the trolls bully the chapman brand.
I play jackson and Ibanez and the trolls can take a long walk off a short pier.
I love these kinds of videos. Also, I hadn't noticed how tiny the Music Man guitar headstocks look until now.
do really pointy guitars like explorers and Vs with Rob and/or Bea
I haven't seen it yet, but I already know this video will be a blast to watch.
When i read pointy guitars, i thought it will have the Vs, Rhodes, or any other sharp shaped guitars
Great stuff! Rob certainly knows guitars! Hey guys, what's the Vox in the background?
More blindfold without a doubt. Strings would be great because its such a debated subject.
Love the honesty and dynamics of these videos. Keep it up!
Blindfold test 10 of the most bizarre body shapes you can get your hands on.
Rob was super impressive in this one. Awesome video, thank you guys!
offset guitars? like a firebird, jazz master, duo-sonic?
They way they sit on your lap is so unique to the design that it might be given away instantly.
I love these blindfold challenge. Great job Rob.
Awesome video 😁😁 i’d love to see a flying v episode with the same format. Definitely with brent hinds epiphone
Cam Forster and the Snow Falcon Brendon Small one?
captainwhizz yesss definitely
great video guys. Absolute fun to watch!!
Blindfolded Danish Pete T-Style Challenge !!!
Great channel. I have ditched my Foxtel account because I now spend my tv time watching Chappers and the Captain.. great job....
I would like to see some sort of amp head blindfold challenge, marshall vs marshall vs friedman..Idk, some sort of
Thats coming in March!
Andertons Music Co Can't wait, keep up the good job with making great content. Someday, if I ever travel to the UK, Andertons will definitely be on my trip route.
Would be too much to ask for a proper double blind test this time?
YAAAAAS
What we’ve all been waiting for 💜
You did well Chappers :3
please make 6:32 a gif
i was about to comment if anybody saw that lol
Blindfolded Semi-hollows (Gibson, Epiphone, Gretsch, Ibanez, Duesenberg, etc.). Lots of options out there and something not covered as often as the Strat, Tele, Les Paul, etc. style guitars. Maybe with Pete?
Yes! This!
You can't do it with Pete. Pete could play an uncooked box of noodles.
How about a blindfolded challenge where Bea/Pete/Joss plays 5 different guitars from different companies, and Rob and Lee have to guess what they are just from the sound. Could be quite interesting...
rhys arnold They should play the same thing, on the same guitar, and they also have to guess who's playing:)
Strings is a good suggestion. I like it! Another great program, thank you!
We will not forget this title change
Like many others have commented, I'm just in awe of Rob's uncanny ability to distinguish between pickups and brands instantly. It's is utterly amazing.
Ahahaha I love Rory so much
Rob is amazing at listening and knowing what it is. That’s crazy. Heck, I’d be struggling to even play without looking once in awhile to make sure my hands are in the right place. Very impressive.
"pointy birds so pointy pointy...anoint my head...anointy...nointy !!!"
The Man With Two Brains???????
theox 2000 ...well done matey...a Steve Martin classic !!!...(it's pronounced "hffuurrrr" !!!)
This is great video guys. Keep making more of this. Rob is quite a genius in guessing the Guitar.
Blindfold challenge hollow body guitars, or blindfold challenge of the same guitar but made in different years
I've been rewatching old blindfold vids by you guys, and now there is a new one! WOO
I'm going to recommend excluding Chapmans in future, but not for the reasons others may be saying. It's almost a no-win situation for you. If you get it wrong, everyone will shit on you. If you don't pick it as your top choice you'll get shit on for not liking your own guitar the best. And if you do like it the best, and really as you said, you designed it etc., it's literately tailor-made to your tastes, there's going to be a part of the population that cries foul.
It's not that I don't think that they are worthy of being there.
Yeah they're in a weird predicament, basically whatever they do is wrong. Though I can't confirm on the quality of Chapman guitars, only I assume that it is great because it's from Korea same as my kh602.
Ryan Tervo Well said. Forget the haters!
Ryan Tervo I personally have no issue with it either. I was just watching and thinking wow it'd be embarrassing if he shit on the chapman just as he said it. Then it just struck me - wow they're really opening themselves up.

They're made in the same factory as my ec-401 so I'm willing to give one a try. they have em here in the states now. just not near me lol
The editing on this video has to be the best for any company ever
You should do semi hollow body’s
This was entertaining, informative and amazing. Rob is a beast!
Best cheapest guitar battle!
Blindfold string challenge sounds great! Same for acoustics. And semi-hollows and signature guitars like others have said. I'd watch them all!
It's a nevertune 😂😂😂
Love how chappers know his instruments and his guesses are so spot on
blindfold Tele yaay!
You guys have too much fun!! But absolutely brilliant marketing for Anderton’s and I’m sure the manufacturers dig it! Keep ‘em coming!!
blindfold fly v guitars challenges

Rob's idea of a blindfold strings challenge sounds WAY too cool! Four different brands of strings of identical gauge and similar build on four different, but identical guitars!
