Captain Lee is the newest Djent God, with his crazy riffing of 0's and 1's, and his immaculate soloing of tapping and sweeping, Lee Anderton has become the ultimate reason to buy a 9 string guitar
On the next Captain Meets video, no matter who it is, Lee needs to have that rig equipped. And don't say anything to the guest. Just act like that's your legit, all the time rig and see how they react. That'd be amazing.
Shreddinkevin93 if thats the case a box of crispy creme donuts on top of the amp and a sign saying 14 yr old groupies this way would be needed too Yngwie likes donuts.

GrayEcho the mistake was giving him the Gonkulator which actually gives him some gain if he plains with the settings. Should have just given him a delay pedal or something
That ring modulator is very interesting, maybe if you put it after all your other effects. Or if you can connect an expression pedal to control the carrier wave.
It honestly surprises me a little that none of the following happened: - Giving Lee an octave pedal instead of the Metal Zone, just to extend the range of that guitar to *comically* low notes. - Either one of them getting one of those novelty mini-amps that Vox, Fender and Marshall do. - Either of them getting a lefty model guitar, lap-steel, 3/4 size guitar, bass guitar, or a banjo (Epiphone does an electric banjo, right?).
Most Versatile Rig Challenge: - Choose 5 well known, but different sounding guitar riffs. - Both choose a rig for £1500 that can get as close as possible to all 5 riffs. - Winner is the person who gets the closest on 3 or more riffs.
Ash Okay hold on SRV: Pride and Joy Hendrix: Purple Haze Sabbath: War Pigs Dire Straits: Sultans of Swing The Doors: Light My Fire. A good mix of heavy and light. Everything from Flamenco inspired to intensely bluesy to metal.
The metal guitarists nightmare is NOT an amp with no gain in it. Because that can be dealt with. But metal guitarists nightmare is an amp with horrendous gain (I.E. the fender frontman 10g)
Or the kind of low gain where it's enough that it distorts the sound, but not enough to compress anything. A sound that's just incredibly difficult to play the widdly licks with, unless you're Guthrie Govan or similar. That's a lot more difficult to handle than a perfectly clean sound.
Aka the fender frontman... i used that thing for probably 2 years of my life and I havent realized until I went back after a year with a proper peavey 100w head and a 2x12 that you cant even palm mute on that thing
Funny, the Frontman PR-241 has a great gain structure, but is just as cheap as the 10g. I played on a PR-241 for years, and to be honest it sounds better tone-wise than a Line 6 Spider 4 (but then again, anything sounds better than that thing).
you guys talking shit about the Frontman 10g and I actually thought it wad quite good when I first bought it.... can't get another amp for atleast a year or so. :(
Ian Baker To be honest 9 strings have to be used very very cautiously you can't just go ahead and chug the lowest string as it will (as this video demonstrates) sound terrible. I mean the same applies to any guitar of course but to 9 strings especially. They can however sound decent in the right hands. Not having a Metal-Zone might also help.
I find the improvement that Lee has made over the last few years of playing on UA-cam to be a real motivator. There was a point where he took a big boost up in a short period and has been getting better ever since. Just really enjoying everyone progress at their craft and also in their professional world, All you guys are doing well in a tough market. Congratulations to y ou.
Rob gets his uncomfortable rig and plays beautifully. Cap gets his rig and it just flat out lost and annoyed... The more Cap plays with robs pedal... The more comfortable and shreddy he gets!
Yeah but if you do this it will just be a Strat for Lee with a Fender Blues Junior and Rob would be a Ghost Fret Chapman into a Victory Silver Back. Better idea is to chose a rig you think they will like choosing products they have not tried.
Now that was funny…. Guys i think that is the hardest I have laughed in a long time….thanks for that… and bravo to all for actually making some good sounding music even when given the things you like least….. absolutely love this channel !!!!
You guys are so cool ! I love everything you do, and not as a fangirl, but just because you put out entertaining videos that are well though of and that last more than 5 minutes ! Thanks guys!
I loved it! Lee was getting in to chugging away on that thing. And the look on B's face when he started playing thing was priceless. I really did laugh at the lost 20 minutes I'll never get back.
I bought Bobby one of them real nice Telecasmers and a Liner 6 amplificator and he said, "Damnit Dad, that ain't Kvlt." What in the got dang is Kvlt? Is Bobby listenin' to that devil's music again?

@@schonerwissen2013 Glad you're doing better, dude. The Captain and Chappers always help me when I've had a really bad day, too
before I even saw the video I knew a metal zone was coming
I was just about to post the exact same thing. Specifically Rob was definitely gonna buy one for Lee :)
Before I even started the video, I *was* coming.
Good god, Hank o.o
I smelled Miku tbh.
Spoilers!!!!!
*This is exactly what Anderton's Music Store sounds like on a Saturday afternoon. Nice.*

He was definitely that kid one day

Laughed way too loud at work when Pete and Bea started jamming STOPPED and started again!

Rob: A ring modulator, who uses these?
Tom Morello: Am I a joke to you?
when did morello use a ringmod?
Incubus - Glass :-)
Incubus...Mike Einziger uses ring modulators....but it's not to know how to use them....its when and where to use them
That bit where Lee goes, 'I'm keeping my voice down because I don't want Rob to overhear' and you can hear Rob, like a foghorn!
I would've given Rob a keyboard combo amp with a Gretsch white falcon and Lees rig was spot on
Oh and a Ehx ravish sitar pedal for Rob
On second thought what if Rob gave Lee a 6 string bass (not Fender bass VI) an Ampeg SVT that had to have max gain on, and a Miku pedal?
Dan Adrian I would have given Rob a modular synth with the biggest acoustic guitar I can find & a bass amp
you know minus the pedal choices they were both pretty decent rigs. that epiphone is pretty sexy
MIke Kelly I agree, before he turned the pedal on he sounded great.
Because of Izzy Stradlin, I will always love a semi acoustic
And rob actually sounded better than he normally does! 😂👌🏻

The disapointment in Lee's face seing the schecter xD GENIUS!
I was laughing so hard at Rob and Lee that tears were falling, LOL.
Ocean Hedonist I was too!! Best video in a long time!!
Me Too. ....awesome
If there's a 10 string guitar you could just fire the bass player because you have a 4 string bass and a 6 string guitar all on one neck.
Bass player uses a 7 string. Checkmate.
Animals as Leaders are way ahead of you there mate
Bruh that not a guitar with a bass on it that would be a bass with an extra guitar on it. and the bassist could get it and fire the guitarist instead.
Jupiter James-Reynolds no the bassist is always the worst guitarist, what you’re suggesting wouldn’t be logical.
@@DrewPeabaws ok. But the guitarist is always the worst bassist.

Dom Voxfazer or an acoustic with a pickup
They've already done a lefty challenge. To be honest, I'm not sure if Lee was more uncomfortable on this or the lefty lol.
acoustic with a mic. That's worse
or a left hanfed acoustic
Switch out the Positive Grid for a Spider and I think Rob is spot on

The ring modulator actually sounded awesome over the gainy rythm.
i think some jazz players like John Scofield actually uses ring mod to spice things up
Mezurashii5 Bands like ISIS and post metal bands like that use them for the added ambience
