Got to the end of the video & I can't believe I've got to wait for part 2... The suspense is killing me, which it shouldn't really, as I know what happens!!
Regarding all the really expensive pedals Rob & I could have picked... we agreed before we shot the video that we'd try & keep the pedal boards reasonably affordable. I say reasonably, as I know we didn't use the cheapest pedals, but we didn't pick the dearest either!
Capt. I would immigrate to the UK from the States to work for you in that beautiful store... Probably would never get the chance, but i can dream right... Cheers from the states Cap10
By the way - Rob is not ignoring you... He's currently on a plane flying to the USA to promote Chapman Guitars at Riff City Music. He'll be back online soon.
Rob Chapman I've been driving myself bonkers looking for a new amp for around 500 US dollars, I was looking at the Jet City jca50h because I'm going for a hard rock sound, does the chappers have a suggestion? Welcome to the USA! come down to Texas sometime!
Rob Chapman wish i was close to riff city i wanted a trans blk ml1 signed by the chapers him self to add to my collection of my fav guitars of all time i would sleep with that guitar!
I agree - its something I hate most about music stores in general - all the staff telling kids not to touch anything. How are kids supposed to get inspired to play if everyone in the store is horrible to them?
yea bro :) there a shop in perth called megamusic, i walk in and everyones like HI JOSH! :P this honestly keeps me going XD im 14 and it honestly gives me a place to belong
OMG ... I just looked it up and there is one picture where he's doing the Lee stare and I was like "Is that Lee in a Wig?" www.siliconrepublic.com/fs/img/Robert%20Moog.jpg
Loved these 2 videos and I am jealous of the Captain. Not only does he seem to have a lot of fun, but he is doing perfect marketing. You would never have thought that marketing could be so much fun and so effective. He must be raking it in and having a ball while doing so. Respect!

I can't say how much I envy all the right-handed guitar players. You simply go to a guitar store and play whatever guitar You want. The first thing a lefty do after coming in to a music store, is asking staff if there are ANY left handed guitars. In my country it's usually one or two cheap squiers/epiphones per store. Damn.
Not so easy, mate ;) By the way, it's so funny, when right-handed guitarists give advice to south-paws which they would never apply themselves ;) It's not bad to be a south-paw. I just wish guitar stores stop ignoring left handed guitars. Andretons is a massive winner in that extend
I'm a left-handed fingerstyle player (mostly acoustic), but luckily my dad advised me to play regular. It's not really a big difference, just trickier the first few months. after that it gets natural. Now i always play right handed and it's way easier to just pick up a guitar at a friends house or a gig. And the selection of guitars is WAY better.
The way you treated the kid was very admirable. Many guitar player type's are sort of full of themselves and put down young, inexperienced players. It's really great to see you encouraging the future leaders of the industry.
I agree it sounds shite, but music shops that try and make potential customers stop what they're playing, or feel awkward about it, are cuntholes. And Andertons doesn't seem to be a cunthole.
DaveDexterMusic If that ever happens ask them if they think that in this day and age their business can afford to let you walk out of their shop and spend your money elsewhere. But as a rule I don't think it's like that anymore, twenty years ago, yeah, but not now.
xplanet2112 I've been in music shops trying out instruments or equipment and very quickly made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. Sometimes this was accidental, more often it was not.
I know how you feel and I've been there but it's their problem, not yours, if you walk out and spend your money elsewhere. Maybe it's because I'm older, have a responsible job and funds to make a purchase or two that I think this way, despite my very modest musical abilities.
Captian - How may I help you? Rob - Yes, can i have 2 entire pedalboards free of charge? Captains - Yeah. Would you like fries with that? BEST FUCKING CHANNEL EVER.
every single time I work on my pedal board I come back and watch this video lol witch means ive seen it like 50 times and ive pretty much got it memorized lol
This is the first time ive actually seen Andertons from the inside and MAN, I AM IMPRESSED THAT STORE IS GIGANTIC and so pimped out nice job Captain Lee!
Rob Chapman Please review it! I love Brendan Small and his work but have yet find one of these in the wild to demo, and would love to hear what that thing can do. He and Gibson did a great job on the Thunderhorse, did greatness come twice?
Prob one of the best vids you guys have ever done. Really enjoyed from beginning to end because the decision making process was difficult, even for one who owns a music store. Nice job guys!
Rob Chapman Straight up man...I know how you feel about the Boss tuner man. I LOVE the Boss TU2 and TU3! If I only had a pedaltrain mini to work with, I'd make that shit fit.
For a REALLY versatile board I'd pick, 1. Polytune Mini 2. TC Electronic Spark (for clean boost as well as the TS-type mid-hump thing) 3. Fulltone Catalyst (OD as well as fuzz-ish) 4. TC Electronic Nova Modulator (has vibe, phaser, chorus, flanger & tremolo) 5. BOSS DD-7 A wah would not fit on a PT Mini so I might just keep one off the board.
Francisco Valadez Haven't played the Mini Crybaby so I can't really compare but if you can, give a Wilson wah a try once. I've had a standard Crybaby, a BBE wah and a Fulltone Clyde and now have a Wilson Ten Spot and it beats all of them hands down.
Francisco Valadez You're welcome! Wilson's Signature wah is a clone of the old Clyde's. Even Fulltone has a very good Clyde. RMC has a Teese wah which I haven't played but have heard very good things about. Wah is a very personal thing so it's hard to recommend. One of the reasons I favor Wilson though is because you get to talk to him directly and he's a wonderful guy.
I wish something like this happens to me one day, just walk to an awesome music store like Andertons and grab a bunch of awesome pedals at once and build an awesome board like that.... Loving your job guys.
I went to the shop yesterday (I live in Edinburgh) as I am staying I wimbledon just now, I left my wife and son at the hotel to drive down to the shop... I had to go and see it as I have ben watching these videos for ages. Great shop Cap! (I had the Star Wars #1 fan t-shirt on)
Man MXR Pedals are fucking amazing, i have an MXR Distortion+ and it goes from a light overdrive to a full on metal distortion. Love that thing. and i also have a Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q and oh man it is fucking amazing.
That's crazy you mention that, I just went to post the exact same question, I thought he was the owner, kr possibly the owner's son. I forget why I thought that,. I thought I heard him say one time "When I opened Anderton's," or something to that effect.
Adooms Guitars But does he actually own the company? He doesn't look old enough. Lee is in his 30s I'm guessing, normally a guy who owns a company will be in their late 40s at least.
I watched this video multiple times and yet it gives me the same excitement of being inside a music store. I wish you could have more videos showing the store or have a guitar battle royale with multiple brands of guitar. Anyway, it's always good time watching you guys talking about guitars and other stuff. Kudos!
What's everybody's opinion on boss distortion pedals? I have a friend who asked me if I have used one and I have not, it'd be great to get some insight on it
I use the Emma Reezafratzitz 2, its around $200 bucks but I've literally played at least 300+ distortion pedals and the Reezafratzitz 2, Wheebo Low end Bastard are the 2 best. On a budget I would buy the MXR Metal Pedal, its REALLY heavy and has a good tone and a decent EQ section. The Emma Pissduyawout is what I'm using now, only because its the same as the Reezafratzitz only with slightly more gain. I'm selling my Reezafratzitz 2 on ebay right now, I thibk its $209US.
I would drop everything and move to the U.K. if I was offered a job at Andertons.
i love the tangents and deep thought conversations you guys get into. best guitar channel period
Got to the end of the video & I can't believe I've got to wait for part 2... The suspense is killing me, which it shouldn't really, as I know what happens!!
So THATS where the buffer my muffin thing came from.
Classic.

Just landed!!! Really happy with the response to this video - let's do it again with a budget gig rig each!! Maybe £500 each to get a gigging setup?
Rob Chapman I've been driving myself bonkers looking for a new amp for around 500 US dollars, I was looking at the Jet City jca50h because I'm going for a hard rock sound, does the chappers have a suggestion? Welcome to the USA! come down to Texas sometime!
Rob Chapman wish i was close to riff city i wanted a trans blk ml1 signed by the chapers him self to add to my collection of my fav guitars of all time i would sleep with that guitar!
Rob Chapman Damn that'd be awesome chappers! I think people would love it. Cheers.
Rob Chapman So is it time for a new pedal board video?
It's so cool to see how nice they were to the kid. More shops should be like this, kudos to the Captain
***** TheXtriller Not just kids.. Seems lucky, as an adult, to go into a music store and not be treated horribly.
Captain, did anyone ever told you that you look exactly like Robert Moog?
Holy Shit!
You're not wrong - never seen him before but I see what you mean!
***** Definitely the eyes too
hahahahahhahahaha
OMG ... I just looked it up and there is one picture where he's doing the Lee stare and I was like "Is that Lee in a Wig?" www.siliconrepublic.com/fs/img/Robert%20Moog.jpg

gliddofglood with him having literally millions of dollars of equipment in stock, it's not blasphemous to assume me makes a pretty penny.

do what jimi did and string them upside down and flip it to the left plays the same just might have to redo the setup but thats all
No, that's stupid.
=O
Not so easy, mate ;) By the way, it's so funny, when right-handed guitarists give advice to south-paws which they would never apply themselves ;) It's not bad to be a south-paw. I just wish guitar stores stop ignoring left handed guitars. Andretons is a massive winner in that extend

Rewatching this video and realizing that kids probably just about graduated secondary school, I feel old.
Love these videos :D chappers has the best job ever!!
the shop that you guys have with all the different choices is absolutley amazing. we need a shop like that where i live!
You two crack me up! I love your videos. Very informative and entertaining.
I've watched this video so many times. One of my favorites on UA-cam.
Possibly the best thing I've seen on UA-cam this year :-)
"Boys in a sweet shop" ... loved it ... once again well done guys, its so nice to see two different opinions going head to head !
poor young guy, he was so shy
So reminded me of taking kids shopping. Chappers - _"Dad,Dad can I go into the acoustic room, can I, can I ?"_ Great video guys.
I love the look of guilt on the kids face when he said he had a fender copy...
This is one of my favorite videos you've ever done!!! I can't wait for part 2.
Building a pedalboard for myself, i come here every time i need inspiration.
"It's like two kids in a candy store!"
This video made my Tuesday even better, Thank you, gentlemen.
It's awesome that they were so nice to that kid, It's super cool to see that people I like on UA-cam aren't dicks lol
I really became a guitarist at the right time, such a nostalgia trip going back through these 🥲
Very fine store at Andertons...And plz let the guy Pickering on that guitar in the background to stop..
Yeah :D It's like Putridity slowed down.
I agree it sounds shite, but music shops that try and make potential customers stop what they're playing, or feel awkward about it, are cuntholes. And Andertons doesn't seem to be a cunthole.

As i slave away behind my desk in this office, Rob gives me hope for what the future may hold. I love watching him love his job.
That guy at the counter was so damn good looking
It's the fetching uniform that does it!
***** It really brings out the hazel in my eyes!
***** Cough cough, you mean his eyes. ;)
Oh yes, HIS eyes... that's what I meant to say...
Easy Nick, we all know the South American stallion was not at work that day!
Thank You for the walk through Your Store,
actually means a lot to me.
Fantastic Pedal Selection , & the store looks beautiful.
Can you do this again with a much larger board?
The envy is overwhelming lol
Lucky lot you two are, \m/
Can't wait for part 2.
Captian - How may I help you?
Rob - Yes, can i have 2 entire pedalboards free of charge?
Captains - Yeah. Would you like fries with that?
BEST FUCKING CHANNEL EVER.
ik im late but don't forget lived a lie was also playing in the background
every single time I work on my pedal board I come back and watch this video lol witch means ive seen it like 50 times and ive pretty much got it memorized lol
That's it kid. Get a les paul. Dont do drugs and finish school.
This is the first time ive actually seen Andertons from the inside and MAN, I AM IMPRESSED THAT STORE IS GIGANTIC and so pimped out nice job Captain Lee!
i love how there's some kid playing the same exact riff for like at least 15 minutes
Made me want to rip out my eardrums but then again everyone has to start some where
I love the completely different approaches to gear and guitar between Chappers and the Captain.
MOTHER FUCKING SNOW FALCON FLYING V HOLY HELL I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH
Agreeage! Looks awesome ;-)
lol i was watching and said to my self whats that white flying v in the background 2 secounds later rob says what that flying v i was like win!
Rob Chapman Please review it! I love Brendan Small and his work but have yet find one of these in the wild to demo, and would love to hear what that thing can do. He and Gibson did a great job on the Thunderhorse, did greatness come twice?
One of THE most organized music stores I've ever seen. Beautiful facility!
You should do budget pedal board quest!?
YES!
Yes
yup
I don't really care for PRS's in general, but I do have to admit, their aesthetics are absolutely beautiful!
omg Please reveiw that brendon small V.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
+1000!!!
Toki's uses its. Its dildos. (But actually sounds amazingly beautiful, super heavy. Exactly what Dethklok would need)
Of course Captain doesnt watch Dethklok.
This is still one of your best videos, Chappers!!!
Y'all need to do an updated pedalboard quest!!!!
I never could've imagined the store was that big and gorgeous! You guys have such dream jobs! "ENVY" is such an understatement here...
"Don't sniggah."
sounded straight up like Frieza
^^
I didn't realize how beautiful the store was. That was amazing. Looking forward to part 2.
Chappers missed a great opportunity with the wah pedal to tell the kid "it's at the WAHhouse".
One of my favourite chappers vids in a while! Cant wait for part 2
This is my fourth time watching this video in its entirety, not sure why...
such gentlemen, you made the kid's day.
i swear i want to work here when i grow up
+TheBlacksmith21 like in a couple years
this is one of the most fun videos you guys have done in ages. i can't wait to see part two
Watching Chappers and the Captain shop for gear is kind of like watching porn.
Your 2nd best vid... The one where Rob gave Nelly his UA-cam winfalls was my favourite! Can't wait for part 2!
Maybe a budget pedal board quest next?
I'll bet that kid is probably super into guitar because of you guys. You're all his inspiration.
Fucking hell, I didn't know Aderton's was that big. Wow. It is guiarist heaven
You guys have the best job ever !
I enjoyed this very much, thanks guys! But, for fuck's sake, where is part 2?
It'll be up in the next 2-3 days
William Metzger Thanks for the answer! I'll try to survive until that... ;-)
Great idea guys.....one of the best things I've seen on the tube in a while. Please do part 2 asap.
I found the video where he says buffer my muffin
Steamboat Willie title?
Dylan Collins Pedal Board Quest - Rob Chappers and Capt Lee go Shopping (Part One)
Can I get a link to the video?
It’s this video. Lol
Great video! I was excited watching you guys!
Aw, Lee's such a nice guy, I wish he worked at my local store, everyone there is dick lol
Poor thing. They should pretend to be happy at least.
I love these top gear style guitar videos. Chappers is almost crying of excitement ;) best andertons video ever! And thats a big achievement!
Is there a video of a tour of the Anderton's store?
One of your best videos.
What happen to pablo? Did he quit?
Great looking shop ! Leaps ahead of anything I have seen in Florida.
For a REALLY versatile board I'd pick,
1. Polytune Mini
2. TC Electronic Spark (for clean boost as well as the TS-type mid-hump thing)
3. Fulltone Catalyst (OD as well as fuzz-ish)
4. TC Electronic Nova Modulator (has vibe, phaser, chorus, flanger & tremolo)
5. BOSS DD-7
A wah would not fit on a PT Mini so I might just keep one off the board.
Soham Bhattacharya Mini Cry baby is like a new religion dude
Francisco Valadez Haven't played the Mini Crybaby so I can't really compare but if you can, give a Wilson wah a try once. I've had a standard Crybaby, a BBE wah and a Fulltone Clyde and now have a Wilson Ten Spot and it beats all of them hands down.
Soham Bhattacharya Thanks for the recomendation, I will check it out. I've always been more of a Clyde wah/Vox wah myself.
I love how real you blokes are. Awesome stuff.
Do either of you want to adopt me?
Bea's voice sounds totally different behind the cam, I didnt even notice it was him for about 5 minutes. Loved this! Best vid in a long time
This is basically the guitar version of Top Gear
Øksa imagine if the Top Gear had been The Capt, Rob, and Rabea
Can't wait for part two! Andertons - what a candy store..
Man, that person playing in the background has the worst tone ever. It sounds like an amp you would get with your beginner guitar.
Maybe it is
Sounds like a bag pipe lol
And also they suck
Might be the kid. 🥴
Damn - again - The Capt has great taste in pedals, too! Excellent choices Capt.
I'd love to work at andertons one day
Never would have thought in my life that i would see someone tapp a ukulele. Now I can die in peace. Thanks Bea :3
That dude kills the guitar in the background... -.-
We've all gotta start somewhere!
***** I know sir! And i dont' want to be rude, just after 10 minuts It's litle bit anoing :)
Huba Kertesz that is the reality of working in a music shop!
:)
I wish something like this happens to me one day, just walk to an awesome music store like Andertons and grab a bunch of awesome pedals at once and build an awesome board like that.... Loving your job guys.
Haha it is like Top Gear, it's like Captain is Jeremy and Rob is Richard lol but taller.
rob is Jeremy with his loud and distinctive voice and lee is Richard and rabea is may
I went to the shop yesterday (I live in Edinburgh) as I am staying I wimbledon just now, I left my wife and son at the hotel to drive down to the shop...
The Distortion+ is a classic, I have a vintage block logo that is incredible, Though I want to get a reissue that I can gig with
this is the best idea for a video you 2 have ever done -I have a pedaltrain mini for small gigs and practice with.
What's Rob's job title at Anderton's? Is he just a sales assistant or a manager or what? Or is he not employed there?
New update, I recently learnt he's a demonstrator there, along with his own guitar business of course.
That's crazy you mention that, I just went to post the exact same question, I thought he was the owner, kr possibly the owner's son. I forget why I thought that,. I thought I heard him say one time "When I opened Anderton's," or something to that effect.
Lee owns andertons, cuz he is mr. Anderton 😃
Adooms Guitars But does he actually own the company? He doesn't look old enough. Lee is in his 30s I'm guessing, normally a guy who owns a company will be in their late 40s at least.
Its was a family company, so i think it was passed down from his dad, but from what ive heard when he started he started at the bottom
I watched this video multiple times and yet it gives me the same excitement of being inside a music store. I wish you could have more videos showing the store or have a guitar battle royale with multiple brands of guitar. Anyway, it's always good time watching you guys talking about guitars and other stuff. Kudos!
NICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is one of the best chappers & the captain vids!
anyone else notice the joe satch song in the background at the start of the vid?
+Brendan Statham Thought I'd be the only one!
Echo :D
to say i'm envious is an understatement. can't wait for part 2.
And then they were never used again...
Christ, you guys have everything there. I've never seen a music store so extensive in person. i would love to pay that place a visit
What's everybody's opinion on boss distortion pedals? I have a friend who asked me if I have used one and I have not, it'd be great to get some insight on it
I used one once, it was pretty easy to use and had a fairly good sound. I don't remember much in the way of specifics.
Keeley modded Boss pedals is where its at
TC electronic distortion pedals sound better.
Depends what you're playing. I play in an alternative band and I use the Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion a lot, I enjoy it. It works well for me
I use the Emma Reezafratzitz 2, its around $200 bucks but I've literally played at least 300+ distortion pedals and the Reezafratzitz 2, Wheebo Low end Bastard are the 2 best.
I absolutely love these shopping videos. They're great!
