You guys should make a trip out to Silver Lake in Michigan!
Can you please clarify the difference between KDSS and Fox shocks? Why we pay extra for Fox Shocks over KDSS? Thank you
Ad: Are you considering Toyota 4Runner? You might want to look at the Ford Explorer.
HAHAHAHA no.
I get that Ad ALL THE TIME it's annoying. No one wants to be Found On the Road Dead lol
Hahaha!
It was nice to see the Xpedition overland crew in your video, I’ve watched them for some time and they are living the dream, great group of people!
Gorgeous scenery. Love these offroading vlogs.
Awesome video guys! I have wheeled those trails in my Jeep LJ a few years back and they are the most beautiful trails I have wheeled to date.
Another instant classic! Great work as alway. Keep it up!
Thanks for combining my to favorite channels on UA-cam ExpeditionOverland and TFL truck!! Awesome.
I was just going to write something similar so I will like your comment. :-)
And marlin crawler
Expedition Overland is great but I CAN NOT stand Kurt and his condescending, know it all personality.
@@kanon0853 I tell my family that, ALL the time. Watching their North, Central, and So. American traveling videos throughout the years.
Guys, excellent video with really nice editing. Good music. Perfect scenery. Keep up the good work.
Awesome video! I love when you guys do these off-road adventures.
This was one of your best episodes yet! Keep it up.
What a great video. Looks like a lot of fun, it was cool to see Clay from Xpedition Overland out there with you guys in CO. Big fans of both of yours.!!
Very beautiful episode!
I also love the fact that you guys showed how to be smart and properly use these types of vehicles in the wilderness, as opposed to just pure muscle tries... with nuts, bolts, and tires flying off lol
Give me a reliable 5 speed over a 10 speed any day. When I’m buying a new car, I want something that is gonna last.
Then don’t buy a Toyota 😂😂😂
Dan R you sent an article of most reliable cars 2018..... in 2018 every car is reliable. Lol ITs a BRAND NEW CAR!!! Get back with me when I’m still driving my Tacoma 20 years from now
fuel economy is really the only major disadvantage.
@@danr3545 I drive a 98 tacoma 200k+ miles on it still going strong
Well considering the Aisin 8 speed in the Lexus ISF/GSF and RCF is dead reliable....nothing to really worry about.
“YOU WILL NOT NEED YOUR LOCKER. DON’T EVEN TOUCH IT.”
Jeez, scary man. 🤣😂
Legendary 1GRFE workhorse with AT750 transmission, one of the most reliable combos to go with. Great work on demonstrating CRAWL . As a FJ Cruiser owner was expecting more of them but genuinely enjoyed the video.
Beautiful footage. Thanks, Roman. Nicely done. I love Clay Croft a d the crew over at Expedition Overland. They’re doing gorgeous work and are great people from what I can tell.
Awesome video. I love your channel
Planning to drive my 4R TRD Pro there next year. Can't wait! Thanks for the great video.
I could have watched 2 hours of this. Great video!
Awesome drone footage and awesome rigs!
Roman, exactly why I bought my 4runner trd, best of the 3 for my needs. Doesn't hurt that it's still built in Japan either!
David 99 my 5th gen 4runner is built in Toyota's Tahara plant at Tahara, Aichi, Japan, or at Hino Motors' Hamura, Japan plant. Has been this way since 1984
Simple, if the VIN begins with a J it's made in Japan.
my 4runner vin starts with J

A quick Google would tell you that all 4Runners are and have been made in Japan.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_4Runner
Yeah! Japan has superb quality control even though I love the ones built in USA as well!
@David 99 So, instead of googling/researching something, you would rather spread lies? smh
@David 99 Yes, I realize it's an old post. I just find it sad that someone will take the time to post false info (no matter how important it is) but won't take the same amount of time or less, to check that info first. But then when they're wrong, they blame it on not having time. That logic makes absolutely no sense. So, you don't depend on internet/google/books etc for info, you just make crap up along the way? I couldn't even imagine how dumb your kids are if you have any...
Wheelin with Clay?! Excellent. Love your stuff guys
Awesome to see Clay and the guys from EO on the trails!
Stunning, amazing. Beautiful scenery and awesome proper trucks and SUVs.
Your channels are my favorite UA-cam channels
Love your content. Insightful.
That's awesome Expedition Overland was riding with you guys this run. I would LOVE to ride with those guys some time.
Wow, great video guys. The 4Runner looks like a beast!
Yay! I just bought one!!!! Can't wait to do stuff like this in mine!!
Love that clay from expedition overland gave some great advice!
The Expedition Overland have alot of experience to share. Some of the few folks I've seen manage to get their Toyota's stuck.Although I wonder if they actually own anything that stock.
I will have one of these or the Tacoma within the next five years. Mark my words.
MileHighAC I just wish they already include the front locker in the TRD package. Perhaps in the hear 2040?
Jeje jeje!!!!
@@ruready4adventure743 ehheemm cough ZR2 eheem...sorry clearing my throat.

@@FreeRangeLemon 30k miles on mine not a single problem and enjoying the avg 28mpg on my baby diesel
Four years to go. Keep up updated.
Great video. That's one of my favorite areas of Colorado for camping.
Other then the Fox Shocks, it's the same as last year's Pro. Hard to imagine that is such a dramatic difference. A lot of 4Runner guys end up swapping out to upgraded suspension anyhow. The stock suspension is one of the first things to go on most 4x4's.
I just did Imogene this past weekend. Such a beautiful place.
Amazing video. Just like ya said.. very old tech and I ended up getting a slightly new tech truck (GX460). Can’t wait to put through trails
Go for it and let us know how she can handle it I am going this summer with gx 460
These videos are awesome. You guys need to start to upload in 4K 60 frames per second!!!
Toyotas everwhere thanks u for this awesome trails.
Celebrity sighting on the trail, Clay from Expedition Overland. So cool!
Great video :)
Haha I love the expedition channel !
Great Video.
Love the Marlin guys. You know they love their trucks with a passion
Really nice to see your perspective from this event. I saw XpeditionOverland's perspective. I can say I am trying to decide between the 4runner TRD Pro and the wrangler Rubicon.
I love my gen3 4runner. It's arguably among the most reliable in the world. It hasn't left me stranded in 20 years. I have all the technology I need. A tablet held in a RAM mount on my dash. It brings any older vehicle up to date. I may get another 4runner in 2020 model just for the hell of it. My 2000 model seems like it will surely outlive me!!!
Me too, love my 3rd gen. I have a 2000 limited with almost 300k miles and it runs perfect. 32" KO2 and OME suspension, everything else is factory original. Never left me stranded. Still drive it about 200 miles per week vs 30 miles for my gx470, my other car, which is a 4th gen 4runner that I don't like.
Was just there a month ago! By far my favorite trail
I love 4runners they are the last breed of they kind , I love that combination old and new school , for example the lever for changing gears (4 high 4 low ) they not make car like that anymore, now day other truck's they overflowed with electronic crap I mean parts, everything is bloody button .
I hope that toyota never change their style . ..
SOL LUNA I’m glad they are staying that way. Rode with my buddy had a modded ram 1500. Had an electric knob for its 4x4 and shifter.
Trd pro or trd off road premium..
I do like kdss which is also on land cruiser. How good is trd pro with body roll?
Talking with Marlin.... I hope you recognize you were in the presence of a legend.....
Roman, at 6:20 you mention an available sunroof on the 2019 TRD Pro model. Can't seem to find any mention elsewhere on the "interweb". What's the source? Thanks!
Tundra looks like a one ton dually with all the smaller offroaders around. Too funny. Sweet vid!
Bought a used trd pro...omg it's awesome
Can you tell me how do the fox shocks compare to the Bilstein on the trail? Is it worth getting the pro or is the aftermarket an equal option?
Do you have a video comparing the Toyota 4runner to a Colorado ZR2? I'm looking at both of them and wondering what would be the better off roader and best buy and why?...
Thanks Roman. The TRD Pro is outstanding but the TRD Off Road Premium has everything the Pro has minus the $1,500 suspension Bilstein upgrade for much less money. So if you're going to upgrade the Bilsteins anyways (like I was going to), you're much better off buying the Off Road. Also, the Pro is not offered in KDSS. The rare KDSS option is only offered on the $95k Land Cruiser and upper Lexus SUV line and is available on the Off Road. This makes the Off Road an even more outstanding value. And if you'd like a Sun Roof, the Pro does not offer it whereas the TRD Offroad Premium does. Finally, if you love the front Pro grille and wheels (which I do), that's easy to switch out.
Great looking vehicle!!
Anyone know if those 2019 roof racks will fit the other 5th gen models... or if they'd even be available?
Great Video. I've taken my 4runners over this pass MANY times. Actually, I've taken an Acura Integra over that pass too. Seriously.
@1:31 RIP Mr. Marlin, one of the nicest people I've ever met in the 4x4 world.
Roman what kind of camera sure you using?
Mr Marlin! The Legend out with his unstoppable rig. Marlin Crawlers for the win!
What two way radios did you guys use???
What song is that at the end when at the top of imogean trail?
Unknowingly, approaching one of the most iconic figures in Toyota/off road circles and then asking him to describe his equally iconic truck..........I can't help but giggle a little.
Hope you can get a video on that lifted white Land Cruiser!!!
Sounds like you guys have a good trail guide. That Kurt fella knows his stuff.
Where can i book a tour of this place with my new 2019 TRD 4RUNNER??
Love the 4Runner, I really wanted one, but inside it's ancient, call what you want, the Tacoma TRD Pro comes with lane assist and all that plus a manual option... 4Runner should have those things too, not even the Limited have those... That's why I'm getting a Wrangler JLU, more stuff, off road, same price
Am I right to assume this roof rack is mostly for appearance rather than actual somewhat heavy duty utility?
It at least does look better tho.
WOW. First time seem Clay on TFL
Marlin and Big Mike! What I wouldn't do to be able to go wheeling with them.
As a side note, my 2018 SR5 premium, 4WD, 33"x12.5"x 17" Toyo Open Country AT2's, 3" lift can handle this trail no problem. I have driven harder trails here in Arizona.
That truck park on the edge of that rock is giving me anxiety
The 5 speed in the 4Runner is perfectly fine. The Tacoma 6 speed, for example, is all the same gear ratios (numerically almost identical) 1 thru 5 as the 4Runners 5 gears, but the Tacoma 6th adds an even higher overdrive on top. A second higher (numerically lower) overdrive gear is mostly useless. Point being, more gears doesn't always bring you a meaningful difference. The more gears you put into the same given space can mean smaller gears, and weaker. The 10 speed in the Ford and Chevy, they had to grow the size of the transmission. The whole reason for all these gears is an attempt to deliver better fuel economy... that really is subjective as to being better or not.
That Ford 10 spd is a nightmare. Nothing but problems .
@@petertyrell9699
Do you own one? Are you a Ford Technician? A Ford Engineer?
I have no problem with the with the 5 speed in mine. I just wish the engine made torque at a lower RPM.
@@Sig721Tau Lol learn to google jabroni. Ford has recalled MILLIONS of them and the 8 speeds and been sued for it. The transmissions are dogshit
real question...taking easier lines will a stock TRD off road taco make it?
Oh, that is Kurt Williams first on the radio. Might be a Expedition Overland fan..
Does anyone know who make the Roof Rack on the 2019 TRD ?RUNNER PRO?
Was cool to see Clay from X-overland there
You guys have too much fun.
Cool vid. Gotta say though, I am not a fan of the new crawl control. Just having the ability to lock your diff is enough and at the end of the day that is all that that system is doing. Locking a wheel to send power to the wheel with traction. To each their own.
When your favourite overland expedition crew does a cameo in a sick LandCruiser @10:29
Midnight The junk General tires are almost as distinctive as the XO wrap
@@elevated2552 have you used General Grabbers?
Is this a pre production model. My dealership told me that all the 2019 are equipped with a moon roof.
Anyone have any idea what upgrades were made to the Taco?
I think I already know the answer, but which do you like better, your Land Cruiser or the latest TRD Pro. I’m asking b/c I’m currently trying to decide between a used LC or a new 4Runner.
I have ran that trail on my RAV4... It is crazy how we all think that you need a crazy rig to go overlanding... but yeah anything with AWD system would take that trail...
Anyone know what’s the front bumper on the 4runner at 2:30 please?
I love my American made cars but you have to love Toyota! The new TRD line up is absolutely beautiful.
Hope that scenic tour truck didn’t break down 🤣*cough* *Rams* lol
👍what is the name of this trail and where is it at? It looks amazing and fun.
You should do a retro review of the FJ Cruiser
Man that lifted Land Cruiser was badass looking.
How does the 4wd system compare to the AWD system in the Limited trim? What would be the limitations of one to the other?
John Sotomayor The Limited full time 4wd is a cousin of the Land Cruiser Prado. You can lock the center diff to make it true 4wd vs awd. It is plenty capable. I’d say more so in bad weather as it’s always on. The difference is no crawl control or rear locker.
Multi-terrain cannot be used with crawl control. It is stated in the owner's manual and I tried it out. Clay isn't accurate information at 10:35. Crawl control is an amazing tool!!!!!
Why no manual transmission?
Hey Roman, thanks for another great video. Can you tell me if the 4Runner has the same odd seating position that the Tacoma's suffer from?
Nope, the seating position is comfy says Roman.
Roman: Did you do Imogene Pass on the stock P265 70 17 tires or did Toyota change them out for the Lt265 70 17s? Great video!
waooo, awesome trail!! I wonder If my 2010 Highlander can handle it.LOL
viciousocean did you get the AWD trim? Lol
Always loved the 4runner, just wish they would upgrade to powertrain.
What song is at the end
You guys making review of Tundra Pro as well?
Yes
The Fast Lane Car yourll need to test the 4.5 d4d it's a 4.5 twin turbo v8 diesel you get out of America
Comes in the Lexus LX LC 200 and the lc 79 series land cruiser double cab
Can u get a 1996-2000 3rd gen toyota 4runner and do some offending and compare it to the new 4 runner
