Watching people’s surprised reaction when the hard part kicks in will never get old. I’m sure I had a similar reaction when I first heard this as a kid. Glad you enjoyed it!
The slow part at the beginning and end is an almost note-for-note cover of Sonny Boy Williamson II's song of the same name, but the loud part in the middle is original to Zeppelin
I love when Plant plays the harmonica, him singing behind it, gives that neat deeper tone. I know Page Plant & Bonham all 3 really loved the blues, they couldn’t wait to buy latest blues records that came to England. Yes more blues rock, but always sounding amazing. With their whole collection, you’ll love far more songs, then ones not to your liking. I’ve loved them about 50 years, & there’s a couple that aren’t my favorites, not that they are bad either. Most bands might have a couple songs on an album that you love, & many more not your favorites, that’s what makes LZ better then the rest.
Did you know that Jimmy Page studied all the great early black blues guitarists then blended them all together to make Zeppelins unique badass blues-rock sound?!
this is a willie Dixon tune - He was born 1915 in Mississippi - Zep got most of there early stuff from the delta blues - Stole a lot of it actually - Still love them but check out Robert Johnson - Zep lines all over the place
They put their own twist on all their songs. They were doing things the legendary blues artists never did. Would you say a rapper stole a song if he uses lines other rappers used. Naw you say it's paying homage. What about when they sample huge chunks of established music ? Naw you call them master mixers
So what dude, we all cop stuff. How did you know it was a willie dixon tune? You read it and then typed it here😂 ask yourself. Could willie have done this
They weren’t stealing it nor were they appropriating it you dense dolt. From their own mouths I’ve heard them attribute more of their inspiration from “black” American blues than any other artists or genre. It’s called sharing and growing together. The beginning and end of that song were adapted as an homage to Dixon and said it was a tribute to him. How TF is that stealing? You should stick to Skynyrd, simple man.
Can't go wrong with the almighty Zep. I got to see them live back in 1970. I have a couple suggestions for my other favourite band Rush. Natural Science from the Molson Amphitheatre Toronto Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour Red Barchetta from Exit Stage Left Cheers
Done with album #2! You only have 7 more studio albums to go!!! LOLOL I loved watching your expression when they transitioned. Good to see a younger generation getting to experience our "old foggie music". Ha!!!
You need to watch Bonzo play Moby Dick. Completely different when you can see him using his hands on the drums at one point. Its amazing, might change your thoughts.
Wow, LZII under your belt! You’ve been hella busy and I’ve got some catching up to do. I’m still chuckling over you calling Black Betty bonkers. 🤭 I’ve another suggestion for an artist and her iconic performance is nothing like anything you’ve ever heard before: Ball and Chain, Janis Joplin at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. This put Janis on the map and she took us on a ride we didn’t want to ever stop. You better buckle up for this one! ua-cam.com/video/X1zFnyEe3nE/v-deo.html

They definitely brought it home to close out an epic album.
Get the Led out!
Too Cool, another banger from the one and only Mighty Zeppelin.
I love the OG blues vibe! So blessed to grow up with the best music ever!

If your mom saw you nodding like that, she'd say stop you'll end up with a concussion LOL
This is a heavy tune, Man!!!!!!!
To understand this tune you gotta take a deep, deep dive into the Blues.............
.....and I'll bet if you watched the live version of Moby Dick from MSG 1973, it would be 8 out of 8 bangers for you.
