    The intro and outro were done in that manner -- with Robert's harmonica and muted vocals -- to emulate the sound of the original Willie Dixon recording playing on an old turntable. LZ's love and respect for the old Blues artist can't be denied!
    Your reaction to this one has convinced me to subscribe!

      It's actually Sonny Boy Williamson, not Dixon as an artist, though he did write it. I notice that some channels on UA-cam credit Willie Dixon as the artist, but it's Sonny Boy Williamson, his 1963 recording.

    Hi MMB, every Zeppelin reaction is great. Glad you did this song, although it was not a big radio hit, it's still one of the classics. Starts with traditional early blues, breaks into 70's power-rock blues, and then "brings it on home", back to the early blues again. Great haunting harmonica by Plant. The harmonica's power is that you can hear the human breath, it's like the handclap, it's a "human" sound. Did you ever do a reaction to "Kashmir"? It's one of Zep's very best.

    The best break in ever, by any guitarist...ever. :-) Thank you Sir. Love your reactions.

    • @Cosmo-Kramer
      @Cosmo-Kramer Рік тому +1

      I'd say, second best. Jeff Lynne's break-in riff on ELO's epic cover of, "Roll Over Beethoven", takes the cake. Just like in, "Bring It On Home", we get lulled into a completely different genre, sound and mood, before the guitar break-in, but this time the intro is ELO performing a passage from Beethoven's 5th (something original artist Chuck Berry, and The Beatles in their cover, did not do).

    For those that love to hear Robert Plant play the harmonica, there is a version of "You Shook Me" that is very rare. It is from 1968 and it is the first take of the run through in the studio or one of the band members home. You will only get a still photo but the version has Robert Playing the harmonica through the entire song and the vocals are out of this world! If you're a true Zeppelin fan, this is a must! You'll know you have the right one if you hear them say, Take One, at the beginning of the song.

    This was the Album that took LED ZEPPELIN over the top and into everyone's home... I was 10 yrs old and hardly knew music other than the Beatles/Stones, etc, but this record/every tune was KILLER. It's really no wonder that LZ 3 did not sell as well as LZ- 2 and was (at that time) considered a little disappointing - HOW COULD ANY BAND FOLLOW UP LED ZEPPELIN 2 ?!? Love the Zeppelin. But I do hope that soon you will also do The Who. I don't see any Who reactions yet,,,, and The Who are one of the ALL TIME GREATS! Please try "Won't Get Fooled Again" for Keith Moon's most awesome and insane drumming. Try "The Real Me" for the one time that the Bass (by the greatest John Entwistle), went even more insane then Moon. I am curious how you will "rate" Moon's drums? Maybe behind Bonham and Neil P...? For me, Moon is in his own catagory as a drummer.

      Just to clarify as someone who has heard nearly all the bootlegs of Led Zeppelin (I'm a fanatic idc because this band is #1) Before and during the 1972 tour, "Bring It On Home" was played fully. For 1973, on certain occasions it was used as an intro for "Black Dog". For 1977 and 1979 "Out on the Tiles" was used as the intro for "Black Dog".

    They say Led Zeppelin ripped off black artists, blues artists through the 20s and 50s they did not they are the first ones to say that the roots of these songs are rooted in black music Black people actually wrote the songs but didn’t arrange them the same way Zepplin does they’ve saved money to give to these artists once they were able to find them back in those days, the record label was the artist did a lot of stealing back. Then once they find the estate or inheritor, in case the artist has passed, they get a percentage, the proper percentage for the participation when you think about it country and western and rhythm and blues run hand-in-hand. I think it was a tragedy to portray white musicians and singers as having no soul quite the contrary country and western has their style of blues and so do the R&B artists pretty much so it’s the same.
