2:39, would suggest hybrid medic, healing an ally before focusing an enemie with your pocket. It is very effective and can make it hard for an enemy to figure out who to focus as their hp pool drains faster than they thought it would.
6:52 trolldier is only B tier if you dont know Playstyles. If you account the ones who know techs like bhopping, short hops and great at jumping, he can easily kill and out maneuver any class easily and peace out afterwards. Thank you! if I was more accounting for how good each subclass could be at their best rather than how they averagely do I agree the subclass has way more potential than I gave it credit for!
Two words: Cannon Knight. One of the most rewarding subclasses you can play. Get urself a loose cannon, your pick of shield (I personally recommend the charge'n targe or splendid screen. The tite turner is okay but severely weakens the cabers potential with only mini crits and you already have plenty of movement.) and finally the caber. You still have the mobility that you would with a sticky bomb launcher using the cannons fuse. Double donks are fun and badass to pull off and when you see that perfect moment you charge in with caber in hand and delete around 3 people with a well timed crit charge. You not only use the bomb but rather you ARE the bomb.
@@androtti1008 Just so you know the skill ceiling is very high, it's not a pick up an play sub class so don't be surpised if you die a lot or don't see much return at first. But if you put enough practise into cannon jumping, double donking and throwing caution to the wind to charge in with a caber you become unstoppable. One of my biggest highs was on two fort. 6 enemies consisting of a heavy, 2 meds, an engineer carrying a building, a soldier and a pyro were crossing the bridge in a clump. They shot at me from my side so I cannon jumped to the opposite side and none of them thought to pursue me so I snuck up behind them, charged and killed 5 of them with one swing of the caber before double donking the last medic into the air and he then died of fall damage. I soloed over half the team in just 2 shots, a charge and a swing of my melee. I have been chasing a similar high ever since xD.
Huntsman and battle snipers are different. Huntsman is anyone who uses the Huntsman, battle snipers are those snipers that actually move with their team, whether they use the huntsman or not. Also, a lot of these subclasses are just people avoiding doing stuff that could easily counter their weaknesses if they just played their class normally. Bleed scout still has his scattergun, etc. And some subclasses exist as hybrids for people to choose what's better for them. Hybrid knight can help him deal with Demoknight issues at the expense of extra health from the booties.
Agreed except that the video got the strengths and weaknesses of bleed scout right. His primaries are almost all close-range weapons and suck for dealing with sentries, because unless you can corner-peek and have enough spare HP to take some damage, he is so slow at destroying the sentry that an engineer usually has time to come over and repair it. The only reliable way for a scout with no pistol to take out a fully levelled sentry at range is shortstop, and even then you probably need random bullet spread to be disabled, and for the engineer to preferably be dead.
Here's my advice for combat Medic, use him whenever your teammates aren't targeting a specific low-health class or when you are confident in your survivability aka have an Uber or can pop an uber easily. The best mediguns for this situation are the Vac, and the Quick-Fix.
Very good advice for people who want to make the subclass more effective, its nice to see the different ways people evolve or think about each of the subclasses. Thank you for the comment!
The thing with Gun Spy is that is also better as a distraction class. If you have a bunch of enemies and a spy is behind them and the spy takes potshots at them they'll want to address the man with a 1-shot knife so the spy can run and be a pain in the neck to them while his team swoops in to punish the enemies for trying to kill you.

@@androtti1008 thanks for the reply! tf2 has sooo many intersting and fresh play styles its fun to try new stuff to see if it works. Love your vids btw!
Pyrosharks might need a bump up now that the gas passer actually makes things count as wet. It is not a lot, but suddenly having a few of them descend on a chokepoint or as a pincer formation inside a tunnel after coating the area in the stuff is legit terrifying now. The sharks, they have grown legs and hunt above the waves.
It might be interesting to explore the viability of hybrid builds. Some of these subclasses can compromise their build to still be competent in their original role.
@@androtti1008 I've seen what you called the paratrooper called a "hybrid trolldier" in another video. They used gunboats and market gardener with dealer's choice of primary. This did assume that you would focus on the shovel whenever feasible, but retaining the option to blow people up. Some are going to take to hybridization a lot better than others.
OK, so something I like to do I call it sniper medic I’m basically you sit in a sniper spot, but you use the Crusaders crossbow. If you have good aim you can damage and heal your and your team.
What I hate about this video is how you assume we just lock out other weapon slots when playing classes centred around one weapon slot (like pyroshark or gun spy) But this is stupid, no shit if I get a perfect backstab opportunity as a gun spy I'm taking it; the point of gun spy *isn't* to *only* use your revolver, it's to use your revolver *as a primary source of damage*, and in that it's more effective than regular spy. I found way greater success with gun spy than regular spy, because the positioning and timing and gambling that goes into playing spy "like you're supposed to" is a pain in the ass to manage and even the best players of the class agree that spy is a very inconsistent class. Same with the pyroshark, the point isn't to *only* kill your enemies with the annihilator, it's to sit in water so that if the opportunity were to present itself you'd be able to use the annihilator to crit. Not having your hands glued to the annihilator at all times would also give it an element of surprise for when you do pull it out after beating up your enemy with the shotgun or reflecting a rocket, which is necessary to kill certain classes more effectively.than it would be to just hit them twice with an annihilator crit, and sometimes this is necessary in dealing with classes like scout or any other class that's faster than you. Also, using mobility tools such as the detonator can help out a ton in closing the gap when playing the subclass (that is, if you're actually good and can surf in the 2fort sewers because let's be honest this is the only map where pyro shark is viable as the one and only flank route for less mobile classes on this map is entirely covered in water.) Now, this doesn't apply to boxer heavy because the entire point of heavy subclasses is to lock heavy out of his primary and most effective source of damage without suitable replacement. Fat scout isn't suffering from this nearly as much as boxer heavy though because fat scout has a longer effective range and doesn't need to close the gap as much to kill his enemies, and this is also why I hate how you ranked BOXER HEAVY ABOVE PYRO SHARK
The thing about boxer Heavy is that if you're playing boxer Heavy, you should really be using the steak for the extra damage and movement speed, which automatically locks you out of your primary.
@@artifactU thats also a subclass depending on who youre asking stickytank, dragons fury, both heavy subclasses the video mentions, and some more. lots of people think that some of these are subclasses
i like the melee scout with the shortstop crit o cola and boston basher absolutely amazing (only melee kills the shortstop can be swapped for the force a nature or soda popper but i like the shortstop for peppering enemys before attacking)
Crit o cola overrated with shortstop. Try using either pistols or cleaver to become a proper scout subclass, mid range menace, with shortstop+cleaver+wrap assassin you can do endless trolling on slow classes while they slowly bleed and get peppered from save distance
believe it or not, I disagree with the placement of Gunspy. in my experience, Gunspy works best when in a team fight, staying close enough to the front to participate, but far enough to not be targeted specifically. at this distance, the revolver can reliably hit enemies at least a couple times, and as a spy, you can see the enemy's health. This makes you perfect for baseline "participating in the fight", along with targeting classes like Sniper, Demoman, Medic, and Heavy, or finishing off low health classes. On top of this, in the event your health becomes low enough to be concerning, you are in the prime position to run away like a little sissy baby. Also, the ambassador as a weapon is made more for normal spy than Gunspy; Gunspy will likely have fights farther away than normal spy, making headshots harder and do less damage. This coupled with the dps of the amby in comparison to stock makes it less reliable than stock or even the enforcer, which forces you to be patient, helping you focus on aiming instead of pissing your pants over failing to aim. in summary, Gunspy, with enough practice, is comparable to Battle engineer in gameplay style and effectiveness. Battle engineer gets a shotgun, 25 more health, and buildings. Gunspy gets an accurate revolver, a reliable tool to retreat, the ability to know enemy health, and occasional melee one shots due to design technicalities instead of luck. And therefore, I'd say he belongs in high B tier or low A tier; he has good self-sustain, a primary weapon with good accuracy, ok range, and a high skill ceiling (stock, not the amby), and can reliability finish off low health enemies. Pyro has 2/3 of these and people don't even like him.
I appreciate the very detailed comment I myself don't play a whole lot of the subclass and more was just talking about my initial thoughts of it but you do strike some very convincing points perhaps I did rank it a little bit too low!
@@androtti1008 In your defense, the subclass isn't exactly beginner friendly. spy's walk speed makes strafing screw with your aim more than usual, the revolver is an all or nothing weapon only really compariable to the sniper rifle, spy's health makes aiming those shots more stressful, and people can tend to think that there are always options better than stock, when there isn't. all of this makes Gunspy feel pretty poor until you get the hang of it, at which point listening to songs like " New York, New York " or " My Way " makes things feel great.
Uber chaining and Ninjaneer is op. Ninjaneer can put a level 3 basically anywhere on the map if he sets up a proper tele and Uber chaining is literally just 2 invincibile people running around that has the potential to one shot 7/9 of the classes in the game.
I have to agree those are as close as you can probably get to being actual subclasses, the rest are ideas of subclasses that other people in the community have made to play a class in a fun and unique way. I thank you for the comment though!
None of these are subclasses except for if you're using a shield and sword these are more varied ways people in the community have come up with to play the classes in different ways that are usually considered also as subclasses. I thank you though for the comment!
I’d say demoknight is the only subclass. All the others are just using weapons made for the normal class. Demoknight has weapons made specifically for him
I doubt that. There are some pretty strong counters and some maps are pretty hostile to the strategy, possibly forcing one to revert to a hybrid or vanilla style. Then again, forcing the enemy to overreact can be a victory in of itself.
gun spy is good at annoying the enemy team and forcing them to search for you if you're good at hiding the enemy team will have less players on the front
Here is a subclass idea for Demoman: Distraction Demo/Demopoint The loadout for this subclass consists of the B.A.S.E. jumper, sticky jumper (though you can use shields such as the Tide Turner), & a melee weapon of your choice (mainly a sword). And is most effective on Checkpoint maps with your high mobility (hence the name Demopoint), and is also effective in taking the attention of enemy sentries onto you while the rest of your teammates go & destroy the sentry in the process (it can also work in distracting enemy teammates). The upsides to this subclass is that you will be very mobile, & is very effective as a team player. However one major drawback to this subclass is that your only source of damage is entirely restricted to your melee weapon (if you aren't using a shield). And as said before it only works if you are a team player, because if you play independent from your team you essentially become free food for engineers & snipers. On top of that you are also going to take a lot of damage & d1e a lot as this subclass since you are sacrificing yourself so your team can get am advantage, & you are countered by everyone without your team.
I like the idea of a Demoman who's sole purpose is to fly around and mess with people while the rest of the team attacks. Sounds pretty funny and like it could actually work in some cases!
That subclass was actually written originally in the script for this video, I changed it however to add more variety and also because of the possibility of me making actual targeted content about the subclass in the future!
I invented one: C Tier - Pyro Fett Any Flamethrower Thermal Thruster Axetinguisher/Gas Passer People who play this class think they’re Jango Fett and will relentlessly hunt down any player they slightly dislike with the Thermal and their Melee. What you think that they’re going to use the flamethrower?
I know it's a rare sight to see, but there is another Pyro subclass that requires the backburner, jetpack and backscracher or powerjack(depending on mobility over damage) to flank enemy lines from behind. I don't know the name(maybe spyro), but I have seen about 2 people do this before, and it was devastating on a few maps.
Less popular than other Pyro subclasses you are right but I actually played the class in a very similar way back then when the thermal thruster was just added to the game, even now I can still see it being very fun but also strong!

yoooo im the demo at 11:32 lol
Hey what a coincidence! glad to see you here in the comments as well!
I might have to try this myself, I don't use the Loose Cannon as much as I could but this just convinced me!

F-Tier pyrosharks? The Gas Passer patch from the summer update gave us land pyrosharks now.
as a battle medic fan I do heal my teammates a lot I use the quick fix for quick heals and a uber focused on healing (can heal myself a lot too) I usually heal those who are pushing in while also being ready to push in myself you can even kill sentries with the blutsager its really fun if you have friends too, you should also use the family business with the boxer heavy
I will be sure to note these suggestions if I find myself using the subclasses again in games, very fascinating to see how other people play around and adapt with these subclasses!
That’s how I play Battle Medic. Healing hurt enemies is my top priority, so I use a quick-fix to quickly heal them, and then get back to fighting.
A fascinating idea actually!
If you have good aim you can damage and heal your and your team.
bro 1:23 pyrosharks work in the flag area as well,
Pyroshark got a big buff with the Gas Passer, making the mercy wet.
What I hate about this video is how you assume we just lock out other weapon slots when playing classes centred around one weapon slot (like pyroshark or gun spy)
But this is stupid, no shit if I get a perfect backstab opportunity as a gun spy I'm taking it; the point of gun spy *isn't* to *only* use your revolver, it's to use your revolver *as a primary source of damage*, and in that it's more effective than regular spy.
Also, using mobility tools such as the detonator can help out a ton in closing the gap when playing the subclass (that is, if you're actually good and can surf in the 2fort sewers because let's be honest this is the only map where pyro shark is viable as the one and only flank route for less mobile classes on this map is entirely covered in water.)
Now, this doesn't apply to boxer heavy because the entire point of heavy subclasses is to lock heavy out of his primary and most effective source of damage without suitable replacement. Fat scout isn't suffering from this nearly as much as boxer heavy though because fat scout has a longer effective range and doesn't need to close the gap as much to kill his enemies, and this is also why I hate how you ranked BOXER HEAVY ABOVE PYRO SHARK
agreed
The thing about boxer Heavy is that if you're playing boxer Heavy, you should really be using the steak for the extra damage and movement speed, which automatically locks you out of your primary.

YEEEESSSSS

Here is a subclass idea for Demoman: Distraction Demo/Demopoint
The loadout for this subclass consists of the B.A.S.E. jumper, sticky jumper (though you can use shields such as the Tide Turner), & a melee weapon of your choice (mainly a sword).
