As an ex-mountain Pilot the words "Always have a way out." are words to Live by. Thank you for Your teaching prowess to help other Pilots. God bless.😃
Which random god would that be then?

Always perfect speed control with no float and a perfectly executed flair. I wish airline pilots could learn from you
Things on approach are quite different at twice that speed on approach. What do you want airline pilots to learn?
@@XRP747E how to flare properly so they don’t float 2000 feet down the runway
@@davidisaacson9543If an airliner floated 2k feet down a runway, they would go around. However, they do aim for the touchdown markers which isn’t the threshold. A completely different kind of flying than he is doing in these videos.
You don’t want your airliner landing on the numbers. 😅
Ryan- this was an outstanding blend of technical and personal and artistic. Thanks for mixing it all together in a compelling way.
You're parking this plane better than 80% of the car drivers their cars. 😊
I doubt anyone is more capable than you. But still blessing that you stay safe in those mountains. Your work must be valued and I hope appreciated by the community in PNG. It’s a team that makes it work, but you are awesome. ❤
Outstanding Pilot.
Some tough terrain. Be safe as always! Beautiful country.
One word respect for what you do. Stay safe🙏🏼
You are an amazing pilot but as experienced a pilot as I am in 40 years in aviation I could not and would not attempt to do your job I guess that makes me smart knowing my limitations God speed to you I really admire your skills
Yeah, guy has some real balls, and skill to back it up
Your knowledge and skill is astounding. I am so glad that you do what you do and release these joyful videos. I love the way that, because you treat the people you meet with respect, they obviously really like and respect you.
Good save on the fuel ramp 😅
Yifki is a beautiful area with the mountains, valleys and rivers. Very enjoyable video to watch. Flying full fuel drums is definitely more risky, but you do a great job managing it all safely. Thanks Ryan.
I just imagined roaming through the Alps in Austria like this dude does in Papa New Guinea, I guess ATC will kill me shortly after I landed safely xD
hope your all safe with whats going on down there today......love your show!
Red you're dead, yellow the terrain says hello
Goroka is the most peaceful place in PNG
So much so much in everything. Please be safe I appreciate you. Your flights are total Pucker Factor mate. Onward 🌈 n look n see many rainbows. Spirits of water drops. Peace be to our world.
Don’t u love it when the airport’s right where it’s supposed to be?
Help support these missionary pilots. They are not paid to fly and live on donations. This may look easy but is actually a dangerous occupation.
Very professional as always Ryan keep up the great content!
Living proof internal combustion is not dead... thank you.
yeah, I don't see electric airplanes replacing turbines anytime soon

Great video, love what you're doing. Thanks for sharing Ryan!
After the ambush I hope you, your family and those you hold close are safe and ok Ryan.
Now we see some of the cargo capabilities of the "Kodiak", a straight freight flight, cache-ing fuel is critical in aviation from what I've observed even with all the safety margins. Thanks for the class Ryan .
Another awesome video Ryan my brother!! Praying for your safety and your family to continue to be blessed with all your needs taken care of🙏🏻 God bless you all hope to meet you one day? If your back in the USA maybe Lord willing or when we all meet in the air😊🙏🏻
DUDE! That's some serious weight!
I keep nitro on hand just for your videos. Just kidding, but bad weather and mountains make me nervous. You do a great job young man.
Great day for flying, some scattered clouds, valleys & mountains all looking green & clean .Good to hear you talking about the Hagen area, brings back memories of my days flying in the area .
.Full or empty fuel drums are a little risky, done the right way, no problem. Well Ryan, thanks for the ride.
Stay safe my friend 😊
Great flight!!
Great as always!
Thank You for your professional Airmanship!...: Always interesting to watch ,i was into GA, for 8Years,and got my PPL in 1989...., but after 6-7 years, i safed out, and now i´m at times afraid of heigths :) , anyway appreciate watching your handling of tasks, and your active way of observing, and having all this"balls under control! : Cheers from me in Norway!
Sounds really professional.
Watching vid from Port Moresby 🇵🇬
Mad respect for you, Ryan; as well as other missionary/bush pilots flying in PNG. 💯
Nice flight!
I just read about tribal wars in PNG. I hope you are safe and not affected.
Thankfully it's pretty far from where we live
Thanks for another awesome video! 🙏
Brilliant music, Ryan! And as always, Beautiful views.
It's always an even pleasure when I see another masterclass while I kick back on my lazy boy and watch a expert pilot to wind down for the evening. Your video very theruptic for me! Keep it up! Greetings from the hills of Tennessee!
Glad to hear it
Amazing flying skills! 🙇♂👌🏻
Heavy lift for your plane and for you.!
Very exciting to me!! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks Brad.
always having an out is taught in military aviation as well. It is a very useful skill to build
Love your content; keep it coming.
Thank you Ryan. :-)
Titus is on top of things. The flight would fail without the fuel ramps. :)
Greatings from Finland :)
superb and your show of dials. thx!!
What a beautiful flight! Very nice to see again! Still love this plane! it's so nice!
MAF, angels, and saints to us in PNG.. 😢😢
Beautiful landing!
Thank you
GOD BLESS AND KEEP SAFE !!!!!!!!!!!
Just spectacular Ryan👌
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice Ryan, never a dull moment is it ?? It really is a beautiful country in PNG. ty for bringing us along. :)
Video start at 6:00
Have you ever "climbed down?"
wow very interesting and daring content friend
Hope all is well with you and family. Take some time for yourself and do what you love most. Really enjoy your videos and always look forward to them.
The work you do is amazing. Bless you and keep the content coming, it's wonderful!
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks again for another great video. If you managed to record the return trip I'm sure I speak for many when I say we'd like to see that. Good job Ryan. 🙂
Hello from Minnesota USA! Great episode
Glad you enjoyed it!
😟WHAT!?! No "time lapse" home? Guess you can't always get everything you want 😁 Thanks for another great "Day in the life" flight. Thumbs up given!
I used up all my battery life getting there on this one.
ur the man
ive nerver experience bush pioting.
Novembre tango kilo
Thank you God bless you 😊
So cool! That's a bush pilot here TY Ryan likes :)
The graphics on this game are really life like! Puts MSFS to shame! ;)
I very much enjoy seeing the logistics of you flights as well the inflight content - it gives an insight to peoples lives in PNG. I like hearing the ATC communications as well, in a way they give a structure to your flights. ATC may be simple but given the lack of resources in PNG it seems to be quite effective. Yifki is very isolated so I'm curious as to what your helicopters will be doing out there to require so much fuel? Thanks for another great video.
We have missionaries that live about ten minutes from Yifki at a helicopter location. Our helicopter does shuttle flights from Yifki to their place, and then need fuel to get home
Thanks for the unique flight story. It's a well- maintained grass runway! What kind of other flights regularly come to that remote village?
Great video as usual! A video idea for you maybe to show us your life away from the airplane just where you live what you do on your days off Maybe tell us where you grew up that sort of thing how you get involved in this. Thank you as always be safe! I’m praying for you.
Ryan, I have been watching your channel for a couple of years now.
I am so impressed at hows safety conscious you are. And appreciate you taking the time to talk through your thought process - that's how I know you put safety first.
But I am curious about something. There are times that you turn terrain awareness off so that it does not yell at you. But it seems that some of those times (as in this video) are exactly what it was designed for.
I hope you can cover that in a video soon. I find that one action in conflict with your typical safety first decision making process.
Thanks for the videos! Please keep up the good work.
Basically if I'm below 1000' AGL, on takeoff from a bush location, or landing, or even flying up a valley low, it will keep saying, "too low, pull up" until you turn it off. So if I know I will be on descent to close proximity of terrain, I turn it off.
Awesome job with these videos. I really enjoy the scenery and seemingly laid back lifestyle of the locals. Do you think there may be a video coming up of what it looks like on the ground under the tree canopy?
I have posted some on the ground videos around the villages on my patreon page
Pretty crazy terrain. I think I'd be all over that aircraft every single day checking every single system, hose, clamp, connection making sure my engine and systems are going to operate flawlessly because something goes wrong there is no where to land out there.
4:17 They just loaded the airplane so much that the airplane is looking pregnant!
Hagen is a german town name. I know 2 in germany who have it.
Awesome! May I ask, does your colleague pilots also use your self created "box" checklist? I think it's a very neat idea.
Yes, we have them in all our planes
It's a high risk place these days, stay safe!
It is a pretty ride into Yifki and a nice strip, another wonderfull short adventure in PNG.
Ryan do you ever get any video of the traditional side of the villages, like ceremony etc thanks and stay well .
Not a lot. I have some videos on my patreon page around the villages, but nothing in to deep into their culture.
Ryan, love your content, skill and your faith! Did I hear of armed conflict in your part of the world?
hope you and all the missionary teams are ok and safe - sounds like it's kicked off on part of your patch this last week or two
Well, depends on what you're referring to. Tribal war, not effecting us, fuel crisis.....yeah, that's gonna be a duzzy
just a suggestion, would be nice to hear from you instructions how to land and take off in your environment if it s possible!!!
I have a flight sim course that I go into a lot of detail on that. Link in the description of this video
Loved the video, just curious every video I've watched when you land all switches are down but this time the far right one was up, did you not need to check that one? I heard you say checklist was done.
Keep up the great work
The last on is my SAR watch, search and rescue. Sometimes I cancel it in the air when we have people on the ground that can call for help, this time I didn't so I cancelled it after landing
How is, if any is the current and impending fuel shortage affecting these operations?
I think I Sawa sign on your hanger for New Tribes Missions. Is that who you fly for? I'm familiar with them and they are good!💖🌞👑✝️😃
Yes
The P+W PT-6 engine in your Kodiak seems to be very _reliable_ . You never ever mention having engine issues.
We really don't have issues very often. Much more reliable than a piston engine
It always alarms me to see you start the prop without looking around and calling "clear prop". I appreciate the initial rotational rate of the prop is not as rapid and lethal as a normally enginned light-aircraft, however, I consider it risky as you may translate this habit and omit the call when starting other types where the prop is more of a threat.
Nice video ! Very interesting 3D environment, thx for showing the use of electronic aids in-flight. Do you carry a spare i-pad ? Curious what the leaves are tied to your passengers back ?
Yes, because the iPad is our main source of charts and everything else, legally we have to carry two
Is your audio offset or did you start your taxi roll before the actual clearance came in?
Fantastic video, must have taken HOURS to edit... What are your options to miles out before your landing when the engine fails? Looks like no good landing options there...
Hey Ryan! What suction cup mounts do you use for your cams? Blessings!
some gopro ones, some just off amazon. I believe I have some links on my website under gear I use. www.missionarybushpilot.com
Wouldn't be much safer loading those tanks two at a time rotating their vertical axis parallel to the airplane longitudinal axis by 90 degrees? In case of belt and/or net failure, there would be only two tanks free to roll left and right, instead of all tanks free to roll back and forth...
Not a good way to strap them in from the sides
Never having flown a turboprop, why do you start with the blades "feathered?" Oil pressure? or lack of?
This seems fun what is this job called? Is it also pilot.?
There is trouble in Wabag PNG, do you have notice off this? It is surrounded by several mission stations, be save
What is 'Low Start'? I have heard it mentioned several times, but Google is not helping me find an answer.
That's high risk alright! In an airliner, the most you can ride is 25 liters per compartment. Did you ground them to the plane?
No, they sit on wood, so no, they are not grounded
I’ve been reading about the violence in the highland of PNG. Are you flying into the area of the highlands? I heard a plane was destroyed in one incident. I’m not sure where that area is? Praying for you and your family.
I read about some conflicts in PNG Ryan......Are they ever an issue to you ? Stay safe. Saludos desde España mi amigo.
Thankfully it's pretty far from where we live
I don't see any tower around the airstrip
I am curious: What is your HF radio? The power (100W)? And is the antenna the wire between the tail and the top? The tuner must be on one end (taild or front). Just curious (from a ham ardio operator)
Is ADS-B common on your aircraft for traffic alerts etc.. ?
We have it, but our traffic alerts is not very good
