Sweet flight! Just remembering back to the good ol days with the 206s, struggling to climb at max gross and wiggling through the mountains. Now you can just pop right over the clouds and cruise on home! Beauty of the PT6. Nice work Mr Ryan!

Yeah I know a story about a GA-8 that lost its Landing gear at a certain home airstrip due to an inopportune downdraft a good while ago. Not good to be waiting for power when that happens! It's great to see your decision making around weather and wind. @@MissionaryBushPilot

I'm forced to give you a 9.999 on the entire flight. With my extensive professional certified self taught flight sim training experience I noticed you were a little off on centering that left wheel on the yellow line when you parked back at Goroka. I almost missed it because it happened so fast during the timelapse. Awesome job Ryan! Love your videos.

I ALWAYS LOVE your videos….my family used to live in Oliguti with NTM when I was much younger!!!
My dad used to take me to Goroka in his 1960 4X4 International Traveall to buy all the supplies for other missionaries back in Oliguti….I remember trying to stand up in the back of it when he was driving up I think it was the Bena mountain and falling down!!! It was SUCH A STEEP MOUNTAIN!!! I heard they named my dad’s Travelall the “Blue Goose” after we left in 1965!!!

Great landing! As the saying goes, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. If you can reuse the airplane, it is a GREAT landing. You are an extremely disciplined pilot. You NEVER take shortcuts on your checklists and flight procedures. That is how you always return. Remember, gravity never loses. The most you can hope for is a tie!

HI Ryan, another beautifully executed mission out and back, your local knowledge is your greatest asset which would be gained with expierenced trips, here in NZ, from memory the VFR rules are only above clouds at 4/8 or less, a much different there, that flight in NZ would have to be IFR all the way. interesting landing configuration by the way dumping the flap at the flare😃

What a nice flight! I just did the same flight, in the Grand Caravan, in Flight Simulator: it is a bit more difficult, as the arrival airfield, Dinangat, has high trees on the bottom right of the airfield! Typical of Flight Simulator... So, I had to fly above the trees, then dive towards the runway!

I have been a long time subscriber and just love the videos of the remote air strips and how you guys fly into and out of those places. But I had never looked up Goroka on Google earth. Don't know if anyone noticed that there is a shadow of an air plane taking off (NTZ or NTE?). The plane is hard to see because it is right over the 1000 ft mark (not a pilot so it maybe the wrong term) on the south end of the runway.
Just some fun things to look at.

I have my instrument rating but I’ve never flown an actual IFR flight. Thank you for sharing this with us man I have so many questions, is this the same company that’s in the very small town in southern Arizona? I noticed the name on the vertical stabilizer. Where are you from? One last question what is that black knob you always hit above your head? I’ve never had anything like that. In any plane I’ve flown off flown 152, 172, 182 206 diamond star DA 40 and a katana DA 20 I love the diamond aircraft! Take care ☺️🙏
