My level of interest is NOT tied to your results but to your journey you are sharing and mostly the discipline in your training. The good results are a bonus but not why I subscribe. Enjoy living the dream
I can’t decide what was more impressive: Lionel’s race performance, his apology to Cam Wurf or his sales pitch for merchandise. Great stuff on all three fronts, Lionel!
Talbot mate, the video footage and editing in the first few minutes is excellent! You should get LS, Tim and Rinny and add a couple of others....maybe Lucy, Sarah True, Cam Wurf...and follow them through the year to next year's Kona and sell the documnentary to Netflix. This is better than what I am already paying money to view...
"I just want to race you, toe to toe, mano a mano for the joy of the fight" Lionel a Big Hola from Ottawa, Ontario and amigo, You are a Champ! keep up the good work you are already doing. 💪✌
Lionel, First off you have to know I am a huge fan of who you have been, who you are now, and who you are becoming. As a mental skills trainer I got to say that you will “screw up” again... and that’s ok! You know as well as I do that you need to drop the expectations and GET PRESENT out side racing (You love racing so much because it requires you to be present...)! Don’t let yourself be sucked into the thinking trap that you can control the future when you are not racing or training. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are at between the events. You HAVE proven your GRIT, I personally just looking forward to watching you apply that grit to your head game. Rooting for you all the way!
Congrats mate! Happy that you took me advise to get help :D. Regarding the Di2. I was building a bike the other day for myself and I am happy that I've decided fol old mechanic shifting :). It would be the death of me if the Di2 would die on me during a race and seeing PRO's having issues with it, I am glad that I went old school :).
C'on Lionel, always check out the battery level before the race! Anyway every time I receive a notification from your channel I'm always super excited to watch your new video!
Greatest race recaps and ongoing life story ever. Congrats on a great win, on overcoming a faulty Di2, and the true confession for Cam Wurf. And congrats on the swim improvements! What changes did you make, can you say?
Lionel!!! One the ufc fighters (Nate Diaz) has done a few triathlons. That is why his cardio is hard to compete with. You should train with him for a day! Great job one race by the way !
@@hamzaa.8082 He means staying on the back of another athlete, outside the draft zone of course, so that athlete does all the pacing and breaks the wind, yes even at 12 meters you can still feel a draft. While not illegal there is a gentleman's code to take your turn at the front or push the pace and make other athletes come with you or risk getting popped off the back.
Hola amigo!! 👋 Muchas felicidades, congratulations!! I'm so glad for you. You deserve it. Dedication and hard work always pay off. Well done 👍. Saludos. Bye.😊
Lionel and Nate Diaz have to meet! They have the same kill or be killed warrior mentality and lI'm sure would share great mutual respect between them. Diaz and his brother Nick do tri's when not fighting, and have expressed in interviews their huge respect top level triathletes. Talbot, can you get Lionel's people to talk to Nate's people and make it happen? Maybe they could do a ride/run together and then Nate could teach Lionel how to grapple and spar and you could film the whole thing and they each post the content on their respective YT channels and get huge views...win, win win! 😁
If a hard effort 200m swim the night before a 70.3 ruins your race you failed at training. Shit, competitive swimmers will do multiple hard effort races in one day.
@@samanderson7745 yeah but if you're aiming for a good result why would you waste the energy. It would be dumb to set a 5k pb the day before a marathon, so why would you do something similar in a longer and harder race. Racing during a taper week or training is a recipe for a poor performance on race day.
Lionel looks awkward, running, biking and swimming gosh his form looks terrible, according to what we no is correct, but he's the best in the business, maybee just maybee we all got it wrong and he's correct, Lionel respect you bro keep it up, u have done so much to improve my journey keep ur videos coming......

Yep Lionel, we know you don’t read these but this is one you should know.
Totally agree. Lionel is a beast and we enjoy being along for the ride 👍

When the Sandman puts a video out in one day.... you know some shit went down! Grats.
What he said 🙄👾

As always, inspirational. I said it in the past and I say it again: 2020 is the year of the great Lionel Sanders. Never give up and always believe.

Best video so far. The fire is back. I like your current take on things.
I feel a bromance coming up between Cam and Lionel hahaha both are great to watch on race day.
Congratulations! Excited to hear that you will be at Indian-Wells. I’ll be cheering for you as you fly by me.

OMG! CW is definitely watching this.lol. i love the respect between these guys.
With all due respect for Lionel’s incredible performance, he’s setting himself up for a career of discontent :)
Hahaha I can see the Kona victory speech now - Eric wasn't here - so this means NOTHING to me!!!!
@@brentdetta2510 hahaha no doubt

Love your attitude Lionel!
You continue to inspire me to put in the work. Amazing job pushing through a bike malfunction and still getting the W!
Ra Ra Ripp'n. Nice work Lionel, looking forward to more motivation to come. Keep on doing Canada proud!
YASS!! Well done!! So excited for the year ahead!!
As a German it's funny to see a race course with zero spectators. You gotta come to Germany, mate! You'll be blown away!

what he meant by "sucking wheels?"

i tought you were going to race mar del plata, but then i remembered that there is no pro field this year! Good luck Lionel and keep up the good work!
I think growing an epic stache must be the secret to becoming a monster triathlete.
2020. New coach (old), new approach, new lessons. Can’t wait. You better watch that nutrition video from a year ago though 😂
Inspiring! Keep up the amazing videos
The stache is back! Congrats on the W!
Someone’s in a great mood!
Hola amigo!! 👋 Muchas felicidades, congratulations!! I'm so glad for you. You deserve it. Dedication and hard work always pay off. Well done 👍. Saludos. Bye.😊

I like your slick videos. Congrats, you are looking good!!!
Good work Lionel. Definitely work with a coach to keep you on track. Hoping you have a great 2020 season.

Give that guys a sunglass sponsor 🤓
Awesome inspiration mate!
Lionel Sanders is Goku. The joy of the fight.
A 200m pb the night before a 70.3 race.. seems like good idea ..
He never seems to learn despite all his claims he has learnt
amblincork he knew before the starting line that no other is able to beat him!

Unable to watch this live. Does anyone know what to do?
0:37 is that Eric?
Did you notice that you won in a high cadence ride since your di2 shut down? Probably the reason why you smashed the run leg with a fresh leg. 😉
spin to win
Yup, I was thinking that the entire time he was talking. Like duhhhhh course you performed well cause you were spinning lol
I thought the same. Was expecting "i'm going to change up everything and ride 95 cadence from now on....."
What happened to the run form? I loved it in Kona. It looks like ur back to ur old style. That said, do what works for you LIONel
Crushed it!
Predator is back
Hahaha what an interesting ride strategy that you were forced into
love your journey.
