It means a lot seeing other people sharing their struggle with mental illness and how endurance sport helped them. Just teared up a little. Absolutely amazing effort! I'm looking at doing my first ironman next summer.
This video was randomly suggested to me today, months after you posted it. The absolute best thing I saw today. Unbelievable grit and mental toughness shown by you here. Massive inspiration in my own fitness journey. Couldn’t hit subscribe fast enough
Huge respect. You are a rare breed. You talk the talk but walk the walk. Your honesty and openness on all things well-being is so refreshing. Congratulations on a huge achievement. Credit to the support team too.
What a fantastic achievement and humble experience for you Fergus. I lost my wife this year to cancer and it ruined me but I've been watching your journey and has helped massively. I'm into my fitness and endurance challenges. This is helping me get back after it and discover myself again .
Inspirational that mate. Unbelievable effort and some unbelievable character. You should be very proud of what you have achieved and take pride in the fact that many people like myself will have watched this and will use it as fuel for their next steps in pushing their boundaries and learning more about themselves. Well done mate 👏🏻
You're a legend Fergus. So motivating to watch your vids. I found your channel just after my little one was diagnosed with Leukemia (she's doing well now) 2 years back, and you've been a great inspiration for me, and I'm sure for other people, to keep pushing and to be resilient (and to be hybrid AF as you would say 😉). Well done and keep up the great work.
It's crazy how unphased you are for such a long time into the race. My one and only true endurance experience was 20 hours and by 7 hours in my psyche was completely shattered because I knew how long was remaining. Incredible performance and resilience. (Also filmmaking wise this makes me wish I'd done something like this for my own, it's so professional)
HOLYYYYYY SHIT. You absolutely insane human. Bloody incredible. Massive congratulations Fergus! 👏👏👏👏 Ps. So well documented, it was a 12/10 movie!!! Pps. Dare I ask… what’s next? 😂 or too soon? Maybe I’ll give it a week to ask again hahah
@Zachary Poit I've seem a couple videos on them and it seems like utter torture. They've also taught me how much further I can go as a triathlete (though I am first and foremost a cyclist).
I'm so incredibly amazed and inspired by you. I've set a goal to complete a 70.3 next Sept but I'll be be starting training from absolute zero due to a prolonged surgery recovery. Watching you stay positive and calm through this incredible challenge gives me faith that I can work hard and meet my goals too. Thank you for that. ❤️
@@Ethan-wi6ji Hi! I didn't do a 70.3 but I completed a 2.5km open water swim race today and set a new PB by nine minutes!! I did some sprint tris this summer but have been focusing more and more on swimming.
Fergus this has to be the most motivational video I've ever seen. As someone just getting into endurance racing, and having dealt with my own mental health battles in the past, it is so utterly inspirational to see you get through this and to talk about your mental battles at the end. An insane effort mate, and a brilliantly made video to boot.
Blown away!! I actually completed my first Olympic triathlon the same day this was released, I have a whole other view of how hard this must have been! You did phenomenal! Well done mate! And thank you for documenting it in such a brilliant way. Glad your safe and sound and even battled through the equipment failure. You’re awesome! Keep at it mate :)
Losing your bike gears, during a double Ironman, from a failed Di2 is exactly the reason I still use mechanical shifters... Yep! Totally the reason; it's nothing to do with being able to afford it!😂
Been watching your channel for about a month since getting into running alongside strength work. Been a breathe of fresh air. This video is insane, congrats a couple years on - massive achievement 👏🏼
Congratulations Fergus! You are one of the few in the industry that still provide us with genuine, raw, no bullshit content. Been following you for some time and I just wanna thank you for doing what you're doing and sharing it for the world to see. Still in awe as to how you don't have any more than 30k subs, but the subs you have right now are defo here to stay... Keep doing you and staying true to yourself and you're only gonna see that count grow!
Such an insane achievement, never forget what a brilliant job you’ve done, not just in that weekend but in all the training leading up to it. Really well done.
Fergus, that was an awesome watch mate. Love the reflection at the end, clearly completely genuine in your thinking about your motivation and trying to figure out why you do these crazy events and feats. I find it very relatable when thinking about why I do what I do. Keep up the great content mate and progressing. All the best, that was savage 💪💪
Fergus, inspirational is an over used term but this truly is a very special achievement with your ability to overcome a lot of uncontrollable challenges, on top of what is an unbelievably tough event, something to be admired and praised. Your ability to provide a clear and concise log whilst exposing your personal vulnerability yet keep putting one foot in front of the other is a very, very powerful thing to watch as is your relationship and trust in the team around you. Bravo and much love 👊
Just got done with my first ultra race today. Your videos and commentaries have been inspiring and your reflections on races have helped me a lot. I really enjoy these videos. Massive thanks to you and keep doing what you are doing!
Been training for my first 70.3 and didn’t even realize a double ironman was a thing. You are a champ, man. Just subbed to your channel, you’ve provided a huge level of inspiration through this video, thank you!
Mate.. what an unreal watch! Felt like we were on that race with you! Simply amazing to see what people are capable when you set out to achieve and just put one foot infront of the other! Great and moving message at the end!🙏
Just about 62 and completed a half ironman in 2000. I began to develope an interest in orienteering which led to Rogaines first 12 hour then 24 hour and have quite a few stories about things I thought I saw during witching hours. No matter how I'm feeling I remind myself how beautiful the scenery is wherever I was. I gained a lot of weight during covid and 30 minute 5k are tough but seeing videos and journey like this keeps me going. Thanks.
I didn't know this types of races existed, and now I want to do this, especially after seeing that scenery. I feel that words will fall short to express how I feel after seeing this... It's 2 AM and I want to go for a 400km bike ride to the beach, that kinda sums it up. Congratulations on finishing such a magnificent achievement.
This is incredible!!! I really appreciate your reflections on mental health, self development and suicidal thinking. I’d love to hear more about that. Triathlon has had a redemptive impact on my life having hated myself for so many years. I’m not out of the woods completely but things are way better now. Thank you for doing this and sharing your experience. You’re a force for the greater good in the world. I have been looking forward to this video coming out and it has way surpassed my expectations. It so happens that it’s the same day that I completed my first Olympic distance triathlon too, which seems synchronistic to me. Now planning my half Ironman next year. This is one of my favourite videos on the internet from my favourite fitness channel. Kudos and much respect Fergus 👊 👊 👊
Great to hear that things are improving mate, and honoured that this video resonated! Congrats on the Triathlon, and best of luck with future training!
I don't often comment on youtube videos, however stumbling across this as I begin training for my first Triathlon it is immense. Not just the physical side, but the mental side to. I don't really even know how to describe it, but this has flipped a switch. So thank you, I didn't even know I needed to see this video, but I'm glad I did. Fantastic effort, and thank you.
Absolutely fantastic effort, dude. Just finished my last hard training block for the Ironman World Championship and the fatigue has made my self-talk a little less positive lately. I know to control my emotions but sometimes it’s nice to hear someone else say it so thank you for driving home the importance of the mental aspect. Got into Ironman training in 2019 to get myself out of an all-time low so your message at the end really hit home for me. Thank you for sharing your journey. You’re an inspiration to us all! Cheers
Fergus mate, what an absolutely incredible and mindblowing achievement! Bowled over by your attitude and resilience throughout the entire event - and yet you still remained honest with your analysis and feedback for the camera. Really is an incredible metaphor for battling mental health and life in general, having that key support network around you is so crucial. Got emotional at Johnny's words on Snowdon, thank you both for being so honest and open and helping spread the message that it's ok for men to talk. You inspire those of us who are just at the start of our own journey - there is hope. Thanks for everything you and the team do.
This is absolutely mind blowing, been following you along this journey and you've been such an inspiration. What an accomplishment! Congrats to you and your support crew, absolute legends!
Impressive at an almost incomprehensible level. Truly inspiring message about the source of your motivation. You have worked for and achieved something harder than most can understand and you should be proud of yourself. Thank you for now being a catalyst for inspiring and motivating me.
What an incredible achievement! Your mindset is something that I massively look up to and what separates you from the rest. When things get tough and when things go wrong, like you said, it is so easy to loose your head! What an amazing team you had too. Beautifully shot video and the commentary is perfect. What an amazing video and achievement. Subscribed :)
Fergus, I bumped into you in Tescos the day before the event and have been looking forward to seeing the video ever since! As someone in the military I fully understand the sleep depravation and hallucinations, it's a hell of an experience!
Wow! Such strength on every front. I totally relate as an ultra runner regarding seeing the sunrise and having renewed energy and confidence you can see this through. You’ve given us one of the best videos I’ve seen that conveys the challenges and the lessons of something so extreme and the elation and perspective on the other side.
This distance is almost unfathomable. Major undertaken. Congratulations.Thank you for putting this together to inspire. Love the message you give. Really enjoy your page.
I absolutely loved this! Huge respect to you Fergus, your physicality, your strength and your relentless will to carry on are really hugely admirable traits. Your honesty around your struggle is inspirational. You’ve encouraged me to keep going forward and to tackle challenges with confidence. Thank you. Tom
@ferguscrawley thank you and your team for this film. I love this. I love endurance sports. I love that you show the great moments, the crappy ones and the in between. Thank you immensely. I am doing a Aquabike sprint later this year. Recovering from injury right now.
I've seen several of these videos about doing extremely long distances (double ironmans and such) and this is definitely one of my favorites that I've ever watched. I really liked the style and i enjoyed the video a lot. Congrats!
Fergus and Johnny.... I'm crying. Bawling my eyes out! You are INCREDIBLE! Absolutely Amazing. So inspiring. How the hell did you do this? Where did the sheer guts and determination come from? How in god's name did you finish this? As i watched literally from the start, it became so apparent how vital and crucial 'Team work' is. Your relationship with Johnny is so rock solid and clearly illustrates the importance of a 'dam good mate' and indeed family and support. Where your inspiration comes from and the origins of why you do this is core to us all. What an experience. Thank you for sharing. Thank You All for this video and what has given us all. Again You are Beyond Incredible. THANK YOU! Take care Big Man and those around you.
I've watched this several times. Going through a similar time. I've just signed up for my first Ironman. Looking forward to who I am on the other end. Cheers to you brother, you are inspiring.
Stellar effort! Well done. I watched the whole time wondering what was gunna happen. I felt like i went on the journey with you...from the comfort of my home of course. Would love to hear how your recovery goes this next week or so. Inspiring watch for sure 👏👏
Physical health and strength is a tremendous blessing. In fact one only fully appreciates it when it is taken away. The same applies to mental health. Keep up the great work keeping yourself mentally strong and passing on the motivation to others!! Excellent videography to boot!
Was watching this on my TV. But halfway through I was just amazed by the willpower and strength, I had to get my phone to comment to show my respect. This video touched me more then you think. Absolutely amazed. So much respect for you.. stay hard ❤ Im off for my Sunday's long run which is going to be piss easy today.
I'm just getting ready for my first sprint triathlon and I just love your videos. Just wow...the stuff you manage to achieve, truly inspirational. Keep it up.
Fantastic job… it was SO good to see your struggles and how you got through them, and pushed on. I’ve never done an Ironman, but I’ve done 100 mile races and it can get lonely and really tough.
One of the best videos I've ever watched..... this is on my bucket list and I'm really excited to one day be able to achieve this dream... MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS
So expiring, my arthritis came out of remissions year ago, and I’ve only just got to the point with treatment to be able to “train” again 2-3 a week, it’s a mental battle every day but you learn a lot about yourself! Keep it up very very impressive 💪
Absolutely incredible, Fergus! I really enjoy your vulnerability and can’t wait to see what’s next. I don’t use it often but you really are an inspiration 👊
What a fantastic and terrifying watch. Brilliantly capturing the event and giving an insight to those of us who have yet to do it. I have no idea if it's possible for me to complete the Double but your video certainly helps me focus on what is needed to have a chance. Just a brilliant video and achievement.
Great accomplishment and the summary at the end encouraging viewers to take on challenges whilst embracing and incorporating the power of friendship and companionship
Your honesty and in-depth videos are inspiring. There are a lot of so called "influencers" out there but in my opinion, you genuinely are an influencer. Thank you
Thank you for being so honest throughout all of this mentally and physically. Its refreshing and inspiring to have someone like you pushing the barriers in sports. Great effort and enjoy your rest, you deserve it big time.
Great video, Fergus. My colleagues and I were completing the last leg of the 3 peaks and saw you and some others on our way down Snowdon and couldn't believe what you were all doing - congrats on completing a monumental achievement! 💪
Absolutely amazing race recap. Such an epic event and you clearly showed that this isn’t a race that’s just a physical challenge, but a mental one. The deep strength needed to keep going when actually all your body wants is to stop. This is so motivational!
This is one of the most inspiring videos I've ever seen! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to follow you on that journey and take away so much from what you've found within this experience. Congratulations to finishing this project, I hope you're immensely proud of yourself.
Awesome video. First triathlon in a few weeks .. the mental side of the race is tough and you’re really fuelling me to fight and keep going. Please continue to post and make videos - worth a lot for fellow athletes 😊 congrats again.
Absolutely amazing documentary, honestly one of the best I have ever seen and I wish there were more people with the same attitude and dedication that you have. (myself included) Know that you are inspiring people and changing lives and keep on following your dreams, all the best going forward.
I zoned out when I was watching this video, but when you said that you made it through those suicidal thoughts I perked up and smiled. I'm really glad you're still alive. Jesus loves you bro . . . More than you could imagine. Keep at it Dog.
Simply amazing! Barely been in the water or on a bike the last 15 years, but kind of want to try something like this. Start on a much lower level ofc, but still. Thank you for inspiration and keep getting after it, stay hard! 💪
Great production, great video, just great. The only thing that would be nice is if you added a pop up that showed how far you cycled etc. Would make it easier to follow along
Fergus, I am almost speechless! How on earth did you get through that? You are tough, dedicated, focused, strong, inspirational... and so much more! Massive respect to you 💪
Amazing, Fergus. Well done. The double brutal has been on my ‘to do’ list for nearly a decade now, but I’ve always got injured laughably early into the training. Planning on being on the start line in 2023.
What a monumental achievement! Thank you for sharing and being open about the challenges of this event and what this kind of event means for your mental health. You're an inspiration on multiple levels, Fergus.

Congrats!
Outstanding. Congratulations on finishing and an excellent film.
Thanks Joss, great to hear!
Fantastic video @Fergus - really enjoyed this. Keep pushing!! 💪
Thanks for watching Ed!
Thank you for the kind words as always Keith, really appreciate all your detailed input and support!
Haha that's what we wanted - to bring it to life! Recovery video coming this Sunday!
You’re such an inspiration to me, thank you so much!
Very cool to hear, thanks for watching!
Physical health and strength is a tremendous blessing. In fact one only fully appreciates it when it is taken away. The same applies to mental health. Keep up the great work keeping yourself mentally strong and passing on the motivation to others!! Excellent videography to boot!
Wow! Hats off for your physical effort, but what I was most amazed by, is how calm you stayed when your bike gear stopped working.
Honestly, this is what I was most proud of myself for. Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
back at it again with a banger, solid work brother!
although your pronunciation of "loch" is dubious at best ;)
Thanks man!
32:32 That right there. The emotion. Holding back the tears. That is life worth living.
🤝
Was watching this on my TV. But halfway through I was just amazed by the willpower and strength, I had to get my phone to comment to show my respect. This video touched me more then you think. Absolutely amazed. So much respect for you.. stay hard ❤
Im off for my Sunday's long run which is going to be piss easy today.
Absolutely epic! Amazing effort Fergus. I want Jonny as my support crew he seems so chilled
Awesome production value and amazing accomplishment. Thanks for sharing Fergus🙂
Insanely motivational, in-depth and beautifully put together video! Thankyou for this mini master piece
One of the best videos I've ever watched..... this is on my bucket list and I'm really excited to one day be able to achieve this dream... MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS
Great to hear! Start chipping away and then book it in, best of luck!
Really appreciate that mate thank you!
Legend mate, love your content, glad you're here, the world is a better place with you in it.
SImply one of the best videos I have seen on this here youtube ever!
Great to hear mate thank you!
🤝
You are such an inspiration Fergus, your drive, your commitment is legendary.
You make me want to be a better human being
Your honesty and in-depth videos are inspiring. There are a lot of so called "influencers" out there but in my opinion, you genuinely are an influencer. Thank you
Thank you! Really appreciate that!
A big congrats, Fergus. I like your honesty about your moral, confidence, faith etc you took control.
Unreal Sir! Just epic. Thanks for sharing.
This inspires me. My mental battle is about cancer. Recovering my fitness to only have a new lump. I won’t give up.
Never never give up on that Terrie, you have got this. No limits ❤
@@anna-louisepowell3489 thank you so much ❤️💚
Thank you for being so honest throughout all of this mentally and physically. Its refreshing and inspiring to have someone like you pushing the barriers in sports. Great effort and enjoy your rest, you deserve it big time.
Great to hear,, thank you!
Watched it as an amazing movie. Great production and mind blowing effort, congrats!
Awesome video. First triathlon in a few weeks .. the mental side of the race is tough and you’re really fuelling me to fight and keep going. Please continue to post and make videos - worth a lot for fellow athletes 😊 congrats again.
Amazing!! Going to watch your recovery video now.
‘The first steps to something that scares me’ - love it
unbelievably powerful, this has motivated me to take the steps towards my own self-development challenge
Keep up the fantastic work, Fergus! You’re an inspiration to us all
Absolutely amazing documentary, honestly one of the best I have ever seen and I wish there were more people with the same attitude and dedication that you have.
wow, this is incredible!! Well done, congrats! It is so so inspirational!
Thanks for watching!
Great production, great video, just great. The only thing that would be nice is if you added a pop up that showed how far you cycled etc. Would make it easier to follow along
Noted for the future!
Fergus, I am almost speechless! How on earth did you get through that? You are tough, dedicated, focused, strong, inspirational... and so much more! Massive respect to you 💪
This is the best motivational video i've ever seen! Thank you and have a great recovery 💪
Really appreciate that Scott thank you!
I appreciate the encouragement to do something hard…very helpful as I start the necessary self-improvement to tackle my first marathon (at 45).
