I am not much a of a glider type of RC flyer, but this glider I really want. One is the size, and two is that its self powered, and most of all is that amazing airscream it has when it passes by at speed and close. What a sound.. Also if you can catch thermals especially with it having a variometer and can fly up to an hour is really cool. I will have to save up and get one. Credit to you Brian!!! Would have never thought to buy one until this video!!!! You and your camera crew are the best and most entertaining. Thank you!!!!

I love doing the full house set up on my gliders. When you get it right with the full span ailerons they just hang in the air forever. I think this is one of the better foamy motor gliders.
Thank you so much for the Radio setup. It took me over 3 months of trying to figure out how to program it 6 hours a day with a full house glider setup. And then I lost it all when my ix12 went berserk
Love this glider, I have my setup with flaps only and it slows down to a crawl. Really good review. Isn't it nice to have a piece of property large enough to fly from, no AMA and Remote ID to worry about. I'm so glad we bought property back before it went stupid in price. We have 40 acres in north central Florida and the property sits on a 800 acre private spring feed lake. My grass runway is 600 feet long and 75 feet wide and not a single tree close to my flying zone.....
Yea I have a huge farm. Don’t we need to register? I just want to fly. I’m not going gpv just want to fly my old biplane. I think ill take my chances….
This is still by far one of my most underrated favorite planes! I always put the thing back in the box and shove it in the corner. When I bring it out to fly it. I'm always like why don't I fly this more often? Two things though. One. I've never gotten the AS3X to work on my plane and two. This plane really needs crow! It is a fast lander because it doesn't want to slow down!
You CAN have all 4 flap and crow settings...and more! You can mix the flaps to the left aileron to act as spoilerons and assign that mix to a switch. Play around with the rate and offset to get the deflection you want for the spoilerons. Set up your flaps as you normally would without crow so that you have your normal take-off and landing flaps. If you wanted to turn on crow just flip your spoilerons switch and you get instant crow for both take-off and landing flaps. You also can have spoilerons without using the flaps. This mix is great because you get normal flaps, spoilerons and crow!
Multiplex solius. В России очень любят Ваши познавательные видио! Спасибо!
Gorgeous plane. I've never used a vario. I would have to customize my sounds. The vario would be really used in fpv mode. Thx Brian and crew! Your property is awesome.
I just mine with the AR637T, same as yours. Wondering if it would be a nice feature to have flaps and crow on different switches? Or having only flaps on one and a mix of flaps and crow on a different switch... What you think?
Reflex is slightly adjusting flap and aileron surfaces slightly upward . It helps stability by adjusting the center of pressure a bit forward on the airfoil.
Well. this is a glider, no pilon ricer... Can you tell about the soaring abilities ? What is the wing loading , soaring speed, recommendation of CG to get better performance during the lift . Vzik left and Vzik right... is that all ?
Great video as usual, you seem to fly more than a few sailplanes, you could have more than 3 flight modes if you would use the sailplane modes of your Spektrum radios….You always seem to set up sailplanes in “Acro” mode, which limits the number of flight modes available….In “Sailplane “ mode, you can have up to 5 flight modes, camber presets for each flight mode, and you can even put the throttle on the left stick like you do in Acro mode…..You should check it out if you already haven’t….You’re a good pilot, and thank you for all you do for our hobby!
Very nice flying glider Brian!!! I got an old 2.5m balsa glider from a friend of my grandparents, but i still have to install servos. I don‘t have any idea what esc to use, or how i power my reciever, because im used to esc, motor and battery. I need sum help.
If you have a good sail plane, find a similar sized Foamy as a reference, then copy the Electronics. This is a cheater technique I've used before, and it USUALLY works ;)
Love it ! But my only issue it's from FMS even though an item says it's in stock doesnt mean it will arrive in a timely manner. I recently ordered an item from FMS it said it was in stock. Shipping was suppose to be 7 days it took 3 weeks because it was coming from China. If I had know that I would've ordered from another vendor.
Hi Brian, enjoyed this video. Wanted to ask if you made any changes to the default AS3X settings as you tested the plane. I'm building a Multiplex Lentus and also setting up AS3X and safe. But i'm wondering how good the AS3X settings work with the standard settings.
What we did, we basically showed. It's at the END of this video, OR in the initial setup from a while back. (Unbox, Build, Radio Setup)...but as I recall, it's all stock, less the master gains (knob setting - 2X if I recall correctly)
Hi brian, nice videos you and your camera crew do😊 in this case the fuse is very similar as the radian xl 2.6m which had the problem of a weak nose producing some explosions mid air ejectin the prop and motor because of maybe vibrations or a powerful motor, is this glider stronger in this issue the xl had? Or is diferent in construction thanks and keep on with your videos😊
Love that sound going by! And hey- no leaves, no shadow! And…ou’re digging the pond already? Go go go! And…what IS that beeping? AND - was that actually a 20 minute flight, or did I miss something?
@@TheYammerHammer if your using a Spektrum transmitter go to Model Setup. I’m using the iX20 so it might be in a different place. Go to Trim Setup and change from common to Flight Mode “F Mode”, for Elevator or what ever control surface you want to have on the Flight Mode, then go to Flight Mode Setup and pick Switch 1 to pick which switch you want to activate the Flight Mode on. i.e your Flap Switch. When that is done you have to remedien your plane because all your trim setting will be back to Zero when you switch through the flight modes. The good thing about the Flight Modes is that what ever trim setting you do in one will not transfer to the others and you can adjust elevator trim with flaps on the fly for Take Off flaps and Landing Flaps. I hope that helps.

I'm thinking for $16.00 USA purchase the wing wheel set and tail wheel for the FMS Fox 3000mm EP and install them on the FMS ASW-17. Wondering if this is possible without compromising the wing tips or fuselage. They might look slightly large versus scale but then have the ability to land on a nice hard runway without scraping anything. Meanwhile I like the ASW-17 as it is plenty big and can fly it at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the Fox 3000 for purchase, maintenance and repair. Of course maybe someday the ASW-17 3.0 version will have them installed.
