    I just had my second flight with this glider today. I had to paint some lines and colors on it. The first time I couldn't see it! It is a lot of fun. Caught some thermals and needed a couch to sit on because it wouldn't come down. Thanks for the video.

    Great video & flight...many thanks indeed. How did it compare with the Multiplex Heron?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 роки тому

      Chalk and cheese buddy. This is meant for dives and aerobatics. The Heron is all about floating and catching thermals...although it does nicely loop and slow roll. Pick the weapon that suits your mood.

      You are very kind to reply, the Heron appeals to me but unavailable here. Had the old Conscendo s out tonight as a 32c day & lots of thermals. Many thanks indeed

    Awesome vid, question....do u programme your esc to have the brake on when u back off the throttle or do u just not bother...as I'm wondering if i should programme mine to as the prop just won't fold back when I back off on mine....

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  2 роки тому

      Yes. ESC should have brake on with folding propellors. Make sure the props fold back if model is nose up.

    • @AardieArt
      @AardieArt 2 роки тому +1

      @@EssentialRC yea they fold back a treat but the dude in the hobby shop said indont need to worry about programming the brake.....so what do u think on that? Thanks man appreciate the help

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  2 роки тому +1

      I disagree with him. If the brake isn't applied when you zero throttle on the transmitter the propellor can continue to windmill as the model moves through the air. If the motor/prop is braked the propellers will forced to fold.

      @@EssentialRC thanks. Though 4S recommended, how will it fly (or not fly) on 3S? I have several 3S batts but none 4S yet. I've enjoyed being subscribed to the channel.

    I love the looks of the 3 meter fox but I think this one is a better "glider".

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't agree with that. This is more suited to aerobatics than gliding and thermalling. No bad thing. Now FMS have got both bases covered.

  • @davidgt3055
    @davidgt3055 4 роки тому

    It s a foamy glider , that means it s gonna loose stiffness pretty soon , and it s prone to loose quality as it gets weathered

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 роки тому +1

      Hmmm...i think the carbon in the airframe will maintain the rigidity...and its predominantly white so no scheme to get rash

  • @droneschillan1738

    Is it really a glider??. It is nice, but not a glider!!

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 роки тому +1

      We could argue semantics. It doesn't really matter. Depends how you fly it I guess. Power up to altitude, zero the throttle, cruise around, catch a thermal...could have done that but would've made for a fairly boring flight video.

    • @rustymustard7798
      @rustymustard7798 4 роки тому +3

      @@EssentialRC Lol, what's boring is watching through the whole flight wondering when you're going to take it up and let it glide, or see how it catches lift along one of the treelines. I clicked to see a GLIDER, not just some really long winged parkflyer. I'm WAY more interested in it's thermal performance and off power characteristics than doing powered passes.
      It would have been a lot less boring to see a glider perform as a glider. When you have a test flight of a glider you should assume people are clicking to see some gliding. Much less boring and disappointing, this is like watching a boat review where you chuck it into a mud puddle upside down, spin the prop and flail the rudder around.

    • @slimquattro
      @slimquattro 4 роки тому +1

      @@rustymustard7798 having seen this plane flown as a glider I can say it performs very well. My mates used power for take off and height gain then glided from height performing all of the usual routine, then as we were flying from a slope, he used ridge lift to regain height. It does this very well.👍

    • @GrotrianSeiler
      @GrotrianSeiler 4 роки тому

      @@EssentialRC yes, semantics. I never find watching gliders boring. To each, their own. New sub here, thanks.

      @@rustymustard7798totally agree. I haven’t found one review of this glider where they show how it performs as a glider. It’s just welp let’s see how she stunts. I don’t give one rip about how a glider stunts. I’m still searching for a good video of this thing gliding I’d like to buy one if it glides well.
