Have you ever discussed the discrepancy between male vs. female caregivers or how men are much more likely to leave their partner if they require care? Would be really interesting to hear you discuss!
@mar-cl2gg Women evolved to be caregivers/nurtures. Nursing and caring for a child is taxing. While men have evolved to be providers; for example, getting resources for the woman and offspring. Basically, men are less happy caregiving for evolutionary reasons because their brain is wired to be less likely to tolerate or like it.
@@carly10347 Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best. Occam's razor. Some guys don't mind or enjoy caregiving with little or no pay if they have more of a "female brain" so to speak.
Never ever underestimate how bad Pressure Sores can be or how easily and unexpectedly they can appear. I’m in my mid 50’s was born with Spina Bifida and have been in a wheelchair most of my life, I’ve had a few sores on my foot because I was careless but last year got my first genuine Pressure Sore on my butt 15 months later it’s healed but the skin is thin. It put me in hospital and has stopped my life…….keep checking Cole. My best friend had MD (sadly died just after his 50th birthday) his wife was / is amazing met her when we were at school and got together later in life but had 20+yrs together. You two are amazing and the only good reason for cloning, because the world would be a far nicer and better place with more people like you guys in it…..❤
I’m 75 and nothing unage related wrong with me, but enjoy these videos because I have renewed faith in younger generations because of you guys! Phenomenal awareness and caring, both for your husbands and others. Kudos to all of you!❤❤🎉
Wow. Timely video for me. I spent 8 hours yesterday at the ER with my elderly mother and have been struggling with caregiver burnout in general but today felt new level hard. When I went to take medications I take daily today, I realized I hadn't taken them yesterday. No wonder I feel so icky. Taking care of yourself is paramount.
So true, you must take care of yourself. I took care of my Dad for 18 years while putting my own health on the backburner. When he passed in 2019 I found myself in the hospital.
Wondering how much help Hanna's mom provided, especially at the beginning. Having someone else to provide support during overwhelming times of stress is important, whether caring for a disabled partner or your own children or even yourself. We all need help sometimes. Good friends are treasures!❤
Thanks for sharing your stories. Family and support of loved ones for people with disabilities is priceless. The world is a less lonely place because of kindhearted people like both of you. Thanks again for shining your light! 💙
This was a great idea! I know you both get more than enough questions and suggestions all of the time, and Hannah has had to put up with some rather unkind comments. I am trying to catch up with Charisma and Cole on their channel, but it is taking time. I am just glad that you are both in your husband's lives and support them while giving them their own space as well, and taking your own time off. Interabled couples are awesome when things work between partners. Thank you for letting us see your day-to-day lives, and I look forward to seeing more from both couples.
Knowing how introverted Hannah is, it makes me really happy to see her bond with charisma n Cole. As a fellow introvert, making connections can be hard n scary !!!!! So proud of you Hannah
You two are really fun to watch together! We can see how great your friendship is and how much you get each other. What a blessing to have! This was interesting, I'd love to hear more from "the wives". Although I feel like I'm waiting for Shane's sarcasm or silly comments lol. ❤
The part about vulnerability was especially interesting. It's helpful to think that going into a relationship with a disability might actually give my future partner something extra and create a stronger relationship.
Thank you so much for sharing so openly and beautifully! I’m the wife of a wonderful man with cerebral palsy, who uses a wheelchair. I really really relate to all of this ❤️
Love plays a big rooll in helping your spouse. I became paralyzed from my chest down due to a spinal cord tumor. from thoracic 5-8. in our 31 year wedding anniversary. my husband just jump in to help without thinking about it. we will be married 39 years in a few days. Great job girls!💗💗
Yeah, it says that she's a great caregiver. Has nothing to do with being a romantic lover... not that you mentioned it, but just so no one gets the wrong idea y'know
This is awesome!!! I've not been here for a long long time.. I didn't realize you lived so close together!! That's great. I've watched both of y'all, and this is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so glad you are such good friends. I was my husband’s caregiver for several years and it was so difficult for my friends to understand that commitment. It was tough finding someone to talk to until I found a support group.
What a great video! You guys are too much fun. On a serious note, you are wise beyond your years. As a parent with a child with SMA, I know what you are dealing with, you angels, and I know it comes from love. Have a great day.
One of my favorite sayings is... if the help isn't helpful, it isn't helpful. Ie: when you aren't asking for it or are asking for something completely different/unrelated.
You two are a blessing to each other and to your husbands. Your videos are alternately hilarious and heartwarming and I appreciate learning about your lives and following your adventures.
You girls ROCK. I loved this video so much. You both have such cute hair dos. Squirmy and Grubs is one of my fav vlogs. Don’t ever go away and it’s awesome your friends are now hangin with you and in the videos.
I’m so glad you two made this video. It was so informative. As someone who is also a Wheelchair user, I greatly appreciate the honesty and the knowledge that you tried to impart.
Hello from Ontario, Canada. I loved this video. You two are so relaxed and friendly and pleasant to listen to. Congratulations. I hope you continue with 😂this format. ❤
I asked the first question 😅. I have muscular dystrophy and require care for my daily activities. I want to enter the dating scene so I just wanted some input on balancing the caretaker role and being a romantic partner. I just don’t want my future partner to experience caregiver burnout. Thank you for answering my question 😌
One thing to help if you died while Shane was in bed is to have an Alexa in the room or apples Siri so he could use his voice and just be like “hey siri or Alexa, call 911 on speaker” so he could call for help just in case! 💕
Ok I just found you guys again and I’m so excited to binge all of the videos and catch back up!!!! I LOVE the title Supermodel Caregivers so much!!! I’m not a wife, but I am a caregiver and I would love to join your troop if you’re looking for another Hannah!! 😂😭🫶🏼
People care for their spouses in a wide variety of ways each day. “Caring” for your spouse is intimate across the board, whether to the level that these women do for their husbands, or even just an able-bodied couple who help each other with various intimate (not always sexual) things throughout any given day. You’re loving on and caring for them; sometimes it’s sexual, but always it’s intimate.
I feel like even couples where both partners are able bodied can understand caregiving and relationship moments happening simultaneously because my partner will bring me a snack, make me coffee, scratch my back etc and vice versa while we're just hanging out
💩 is the Great Leveller as regards caregiving/receiving and family and friends. It's good that you two and the boys can have "Us Time", where you can just be yourselves.
That was great - super fun - and funny! I love "Supermodel Caregivers". Watch - somebody else is going to use that title, and it should be yours. Here's a thought: how 'bout you have Cole and Shane do the guys' version of this interview. That would be a hoot!
These are two exceptional people whom we can all learn from. Unfortunately, being so exceptional also makes them unappreciative of their own exceptionalness. Please, Hannah and Charisma (a most appropriate name), make sure to give yourselves some self love for being examples of a type of Grace we can all aspire to. ❤❤
I’m so glad you have one another. I appreciate both couples. And seeing you together as friends is the icing on the cake.

@developmentpost7390 very simplistic explanation, and a very obvious take from a specific biologist point of view!

Yea but caregiving of your wife IS actually PART OF PROVIDING
So glad you ladies found each other. What a great bond!

Chloe relentlessly begging to be pet the entire time is taking me out
She had to be sure they didn’t forget that she was available for pets 🤣
She’s a doodle of course she wants attention 🥰🤣

"What if I fell in the shower and died? Would Shane be okay?" Says everything

Like caring for a parent child friend spouse if possible there is a plan b.

I heard nothing in the first 6 minutes of this video because Chloe's cuteness was all-consuming.
I'm listening to literally everything you ladies are saying! I promise! But someone please pet Chloe!
