As a 64 year retired old retired nurse who cared for institutionalized people who were dropped off as infants and children. It is heart warming to watch how living and being raised at home has made both of you so comfortable with each other. You are proving that people with disabilities can have full lives. Andrew and Shane Burcaw's parents are heroes to me!!!! Hannah, you are so loving and sweet! I'm looking forward to your journey together! Please include Andrew in more episodes!
@@ctyler150 they were just getting started here. Looking back remembering and hearing what these two did together reminded me of many other incidents. It’s fun now. Nerve-racking back then!
Andrew has the perfect looks, personality, and voice for broadcasting! If he doesn't have his own UA-cam channel, he should! I am a quadriplegic due to a rollover vehicle accident resulting in a spinal cord injury, so I have empathy for what we children put our parents through. Congratulations, and thank you for raising such fine young men. BTW, my neighbor is a lutherie, and I noticed that you build beautiful stringed instruments, so I subscribed to your UA-cam channel.
@@ff73qoe thanks for the kind words about Andrew. We were surprised ourselves how comfortable he looked and sounded on the podcast. It was fun to watch for sure. Glad you found the Burcaw Custom Guitar UA-cam channel. You have to dig to find that! While I’ve been making electric guitar bodies for almost 40 years, I’m a new UA-camr. Hopefully I’ll have some more content going up soon. Happy holidays to you!
I’ve been watching this channel forever, seeing your sons together in this just made my day! Amazing parenting and amazing grown children ❤ PS: Just popped up on my Snapchat so I had to come find this.
Hearing you and Andrew reminisce about childhood, insulting each other as only siblings can do and just talking all sorts of mayhem was so much fun. And Andrew speaking on how well Hannah takes care of you was heartwarming. 💕 This episode was a joy to watch!!!
I cannot begin to express how much I thoroughly enjoyed this episode! Andrew is such a standup man and brother! I've always wanted to see more videos of Shane's family in these sit down and talk situations and this one did not disappoint. The love and respect that these 2 men have for each other radiates from the screen here. It is so refreshing to see in today's world. Thank you both for such an awesome, intimate look into your guys' lives and past!
It is easy to see the love between you guys. Most brothers would not even consider being the caregiver. You are surrounded by loving people, Shane. Well deserved. Love Andrew.
No participation medal for your parents...they each deserve a big ol' GOLD MEDAL for not throwing you both out the window! The antics you guys came up with made me giggle, although your parents weren't giggling at the time! All of these "opportunities for mayhem" shows how intelligent and inquisitive you were. I have no doubt that a game of Ride the Bull would be resurrected at any time! Your parents did a fabulous job of letting you boys be boys! Your relationship was formed from shared experiences, laughter, and respect. I can tell that Andrew has a caregiver's heart. I am so glad that you two could spend this brother time together! This episode of Junkyard Mayhem was so fun to watch, with the brotherly bantering, teasing, learning about your childhood, etc. Thank you, guys!
I’m a boy mom of 2. One of my greatest joys in life was my boys getting along and genuinely enjoying and loving one another. So, seeing this positive relationship between Shane and Andrew brings a smile 😊 to my face. Cherish and maintain this relationship.
I've often wondered and I've even spoke of it in comments of how your parents felt when you moved so far away after being your care givers. But now I get it!! They could finally relax and not have you and Andrew scaring the life out of them.
Truly the best example I've ever seen of "If brothers can manage to survive one another's antics and reach adulthood, the end results can be stupendous".
I love Andrew since I saw Shane's "My Last Days" interview for SoulPancake. What he said about Shane touched my heart in such a beautiful way. What an amazing brother! 💖 I loved listening to their stories on this episode. I wish the world had more beautiful people like Shane and Andrew (and Hannah, of course). A big hug for their parents for raising 2 amazing men. 💖 Much love from Portugal 💖
I LOVE how starting at 35:20 Shane's head & facial expression changes & he quickly interjects with "Some people. Not everyone" when Andrew was saying "...people just do that." His full understanding of the danger of generalizing people was on full display at that moment. Beautiful.
You two sound like you where a real handful growing up lol. I loved seeing your brother on this. I hope He will be willing to do more at some point. Also it was fun to see how much a like your personalities are as far as hummer goes. Great show. Thank you Andrew for coming on and sharing your life with us.
My 2 sons are now aged 31 & 29, and have a similar affectionate banter between them. I love watching them interact and tell stories of memorable incidents during their years growing up, although I feel they're probably quite heavily censored for my ears! You 2 are so great together and this made a refreshing change, even though I love all your episodes.
As much as I enjoy you and Hannah having a good laugh together, this was a really special episode taking us back to your earlier life with Andrew. Well done guys !
This was great! Andrew, you saw your brother like any other boy sees his brother. Shane, my son used to destroy a pair of glasses a week. Now, I see what a blessing it is that he didn't have A wheel chair to destroy. I feel so sorry for your parents. Boys will be boys, but in your case.. wow. I enjoyed these brotherly memories. Such fun. I really enjoyed this, and you guys had a great childhood!

I loved the great humour and the camaraderie you two have with each other! Very inspiring stuff! The world could learn a lot from you both. I look forward to seeing Andrew again in the future.
Loved these stories. The childhood one’s I enjoyed so much because it shows your parents just let you and your brother go out and play like all the other kids and wasn’t wrapping you up in cottonwood and making you stay home just doing SAFE things. Amazing. Hope Hannah had a good break too! 😊

I love this episode with you and Andrew! I grew up with an older brother (Michael) who was very physically handicapped. I vividly remember people behaving in ridiculous ways and one woman specifically almost landing in a trash can because she was so preoccupied with starring at Michael. Do you and Andrew feel like your connection is stronger because of your disability? I don't know if my connection with Michael would have been the same without C.P., but he was by far my best friend. It may sound completely bizarre, but I'm so grateful for the opportunity to grow up with Michael. I feel like I learned and understand things that other kids missed out on. So much of who I am today is because of Michael and everything that went along with his disability. I'm curious to know if Andrew feels the same way. Michael died in 1998. It's so interesting to me because it's like the people who knew me and our family while Michael was alive, know and understand a piece of the puzzle that other just can't seem to grasp.
“Treat me like everyone else”-Shane “He threw a frozen chicken finger at a disabled man”-Shane 😂😂😂😂😂 brothers are the best mine whipped a marshmallow at me and it left a huge bruise but I’m just anemic not disabled😂😂
What a fun episode. Love your brotherly love and connection. It would be fun to hear your parent’s perspective on your antics. I’m thinking your guardian angels were very busy.
I am amazed that your parents survived your childhood 😂 Although I’m guessing they didn’t know half the dumb stuff you two were doing until you were adults. I have two grown sons and they still manage to shock and scare me when they talk about what they did growing up and I never knew! Back then kids could ride around the neighborhood with siblings and friends and only come home when the street lights came on so it was easier to get away with any stunts and to execute bad ideas 😂 This was such an awesome episode! Thanks to Andrew for making an appearance!!!
I totally understand what you are saying ! My son is 42 and still telling me things he did that shock me ! I told him not long ago he'd better stop telling me because I might have a heart attack! Lol !!

It's so interesting to me because it's like the people who knew me and our family while Michael was alive, know and understand a piece of the puzzle that other just can't seem to grasp.
Andrew: I was just so afraid that I was about to accidentally kill my brother
Shane: cackles
“Treat me like everyone else”-Shane
“He threw a frozen chicken finger at a disabled man”-Shane
😂😂😂😂😂 brothers are the best mine whipped a marshmallow at me and it left a huge bruise but I’m just anemic not disabled😂😂
What a fantastic brotherly relationship! You guys put together a great episode. You are both great people.
Love the brothers vibe. Andrew needs to appear more often. Super appealing. Great storyteller.
Lol !!
@@KrissiCreates Haha yes! As they say, what they don’t know, can’t hurt them! Better not to know since after all, they survived! I hope you have a very Happy Holiday season and a blessed New Year!! ❤️🎄🎅🏼
@@MichelleH_ Exactly 💯! They did survive lol ! I may not if my son keeps telling me what he and his BFF did ! Lol !! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well !! Waves from Kansas
I'm speechless, I've no words to describe ur hilarious, funny and full of talks. I just want to watch or hear anything u say. I enjoy it a lot.
