I listened to this very song on the way to visit my mom in her final hours where she was in a coma suffering from an anoxic brain injury, I immediately saw the title and it related to exactly how I felt, we held and embraced my mother before she passed, we kissed, and we all held her hands, we were letting go while holding on. I love you momma, July 8th, 1968 - December 17, 2022.

I read that NIN released a new album and I started playing it through my headphones just as I finished work. While this track was playing I cut through the local shopping center, which was completely barren at 4PM and every store was closed, shutters down, and had signage with different variants of "Closed Indefinately due to COVID-19". It was so incredibly eerie.
I'm pretty sure that this experience won't leave me for a while.

Man, I love what NIN has done to my head throughout many years... I guess I'm more of an art lover than an artist. That's okay! Good God good stuff.
I used to fall asleep to the original ghosts everynight back in high school. Its some of my favorite NIN work.
I've never clicked on a video so fast in my life...I love Trent and his art.
Ghosts 34 and 36 have always been some of my favorite songs when I just want instrumental music. Trent is a phenomenal pianist. And it drove me insane for about a month wondering why Old Town Road was so catchy at the beginning
The Ghosts series is great sleeping music. Will be using it tonight to reduce the insomnia.

Yesterday was the funeral of my mother. This is exactly what I feel now. Letting go while holding on.
Till My father died in late March. He was in another state though, so I couldn’t attend any sort of funeral. I wish I could have said goodbye to him even if over the phone.
It’s still difficult to remember he’s dead. I keep saying it like that. Dad is dead. Not passed on or in a better place. Dead.

Wow. I am just amazed at how this was just given to us during this time of uncertainty and need. I thought releasing the Slip for free was awesome and groundbreaking but...for Trent and Atticus to knock this out while the rest of us where fighting over toilet paper, worried for our children, hoping that the grocery stores would stay open, electricity stays on and people don’t start looting...it just makes me feel really validated as a shameless NIN fanboy. Thank you Atticus and Trent for being you, regardless of what anyone else thinks and the world’s current state. The way out is through.

This hauntingly beautiful tune is exactly the same feeling when i was left home alone, after my mom passed away when i was 20.
I was came back home from busy days and there was only silence and darkness. I still can see the stuff my mom used to use when she cook for me. And her memos on freezer. Then i just laid down on the floor and stared at ceiling for hours.
Destruction of the most familiar someone, life was there.

I can't describe the pain, and the process of letting her move on has been almost more than I can take. Her funeral was yesterday. What a perfect way to open an album that perfectly represents the anxiety, depression and dread that we all felt during the horrors of 2020. A phenomenal piece of music and my favourite piece from the year.
Well this is exactly what I needed today. I loved Ghosts I-IV, and this sounds like a perfect evolution of that. A revisiting of the style without being a reconjuring of the same ideas.
Peyton Blanscet I adore Ghosts I-IV, but I think I like these new Ghosts even more. They’re so much more drone and experimental.

Trent is my favorite musician ever and I'm pretty sure I have just about everything he's released but the instrumental stuff (Ghosts 1-6 and the several soundtracks he's done) are by far my favorite.
Ended up in a rural high school 95, 15yo..Usual groups...cheerleaders, cowboys, jocks, loners. Bought the downward spiral on its release date..Downtown SLC across from temple square at the CD store. Never in my life felt so dirty and clean all at the same time. A year before I had to choose a portrait to sketch for art class. Sketched Trent’s Rolling Stone portrait, wish I held on to it so I could share now. To this day the music has been a part a me, its inside of me..Hey, thank you for giving all that you have, you too Atticus.

@uber goober I agree. Composing, at least for pop, isn't done by the entertainer we see. The way I see it, songwriting across the board has become so damn lazy and very few people take risks. HOWEVER, it's nice to see trent got an Oscar and a second hand Grammy out of essentially 1.5 pieces of work. His influence is undeniable, but few people realize he's THAT guy.

I had a terrible downward spiral a year ago (no pun intended), and this album saved my life. It was something that comforted amidst my chaotic life. I began dissociating and feeling disconnected, but this really helped me calm down
As I listen to this I am filled with all kinds of thoughts. Nostalgia you could say. Some good some bittersweet and some very painful.
This feels like the next step in the dying process after over and out.

I lost my grandmother. She and my grandfather were my favorite people in the world. We lost them both this year (2020 for future people). I honestly don't know what to do with myself now. Trent and Atticus, thank you for these. Thank you so fucking much.
I use to listen to the original ghosts on my ipod to clear my mind before bed time back when it first came out. Five years ago was listening to the album while drinking and playing Road Rash 2. This new Ghosts album came out at the right time. About two weeks ago i thought about the original album and wondered if there would be a follow up and here it is in all its musical glory. Great job Trent and Atticus and thank you.
