When I am posed that question, I simply answer, yes.
I just say Solar Fields and Carbon Based Lifeforms when I’m trying to define this type of music. If they care enough to check it out, they’ll find the other great artists.
I met CBL at a festival once. They were friendly creatures, not at all evil.

I just drove for a distance of 300miles on the highway - having this album on repeat. When I arrived, I felt like I traveled through space & time. Best purchase I made this year... probably the best album I bought in years. Easily one of the best records I listened to in my whole life. It's as close to perfection as it gets.

The emotions this album conveys is incredible. I always come back to it. If you're having a tough time dealing with the loss of a loved one, please know, it was never goodbye. Love never dies. There is a unique flow in cbl's music. You can't explain it. It just flows through you. Im so thankful for that feeling.
I understand exactly what you're trying to say. It's weird, because other ambient producers just don't sound quiiiiite right. But CBL know how to build a complete album that just works. There are other Ultimae artists that can make amazing tracks, but overall, making a complete piece work, CBL seem to be the only ones.

I have the same feeling about their music. It has to be something about frequency. Some music just sounds good and we like it but some triggers the very core of our consciousness. I guess there is music for the mind and music for the soul. And CBL music is for both :')
It's not only frequency - it's rhythmic delays and their hallmark liquid SFX, as well as pads/drones washed by the long reverberation. Also they use subtle side-chaining on their bass lines quite a lot that creates rhythmic pump feeling.
Same. I think it's because CBL isn't afraid to bring the warm feelings of the new age genre into their music. So it's kind of dark and atmospheric, yet warm, glowy, smooth. It's what sets them apart from anyone else and why I've loved them for so many years.
Every time i listen to this band i come closer and closer to the core of my existence ... it changes my view of the world, the truth, the love, the pain and the bliss of the soul. All this is done by music, real music ...

I accidentally stumbled across CBL about a month ago. The cover art for this album is hypnotic and drew me in. I know it came out in 2017... but it's my 2021 favorite. They should have used these tracks in the movie Bladerunner 2049. This album would have been the perfect accompaniment.
Started with Pink Floyd in 73,than Kraftwerk,Klaus Schulze,J.M.Jarre,etc. ..finally here with CBL ,Masters of this Genre! What a Journey...
I too in a similar theme.. I started with Jean-Michel Jarre (in 1977), then Vangelis, then Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, then I discovered all this awesome music on UA-cam.. Ive been addicted ever since to Brain Dance music... Im 53 and still bopping away to it..

It isn't really a thing, nor does it exist in one particular place.
You could say that it is an optical phenomenon that only appears when the atmospheric conditions are just right, and so is the sunlight.
It is also dependent on the viewer's position, that should be in this one particular place.
It isn't something divine or angelic, but it's appearance can be truly and utterly breathtaking.
And some would say that it is borderline magical.

I am growing into being a fan of Carbon Based Lifeforms! They make music with electronic instruments, giving them a tremendous sound pallet to make acoustic paintings. They create symphonies of sound paintings.
Their music has been with me for 10 years and I never get bored with it. I always find something new in it, even in older albums. It is with me when I travel, when I meditate, when I chill with my friends, when I have important decisions to make... It just restores my inner peace and balance.

Hearing the opening synth melody on this album immediately removes me from my current state. There's something very simple, but transcendental about CBL's music that I can always count on to take me into a different space.
Refuge was always my favourite CBL go to album for the first two tracks over the 12mins but I've found myself scrolling to 43:00 to 49:00 on Derelicts, love this section.
I'm very impressed with this album, many thanks for sharing, nice wee natural high listening to this while working away in office.

I have met the CBL in person recently and had the most incredible time in Anthropos festival last summer, I hope CBL may read this, thank you very very much, sharing an amazing experience 🙏

It's impossible to listen to just one track on this album. When Accede starts I'm unable to stop listening to change to any other track. This is the best electronic music album I've ever heard, and one of my favorite albums ever, no matter the genre!

I come to UA-cam for a change from Pandora (which usually mixes things up nicely, especially if you create new stations periodically). But I hate the ads. I really appreciate that you have no ads, but also that you took the time to parse up and name the songs right in the playbar (I've actually never seen that before (as I said, I don't come here much!) but it's really helpful). It made the experience notably enjoyable, and I took the time to see who you were - so that effort paid off. Nice job, keep it up. Great album.

I love Nattväsen. There's a forest on my way home from work where I sometimes stop for a walk. One time it was approaching dusk and I listened to that track while walking amongst the trees in the twilight; amazing experience. :) :) :)
My absolute favorite CBL album ❤ Listened to it quite a couple of times, and even if it wouldn´t be a Lifeforms piece, then, I´m still amazed by how the first part elevates....and still wish it would have a complete lift-off.
