I accidentally stumbled across CBL about a month ago. The cover art for this album is hypnotic and drew me in. I know it came out in 2017... but it's my 2021 favorite. They should have used these tracks in the movie Bladerunner 2049. This album would have been the perfect accompaniment.
Every time i listen to this band i come closer and closer to the core of my existence ... it changes my view of the world, the truth, the love, the pain and the bliss of the soul. All this is done by music, real music ...
It's very rare that from the very first note of an album, you know it will stay with you for a long long time. Haven't felt like this in a while. Fantastic.
I understand exactly what you're trying to say. It's weird, because other ambient producers just don't sound quiiiiite right. But CBL know how to build a complete album that just works. There are other Ultimae artists that can make amazing tracks, but overall, making a complete piece work, CBL seem to be the only ones.
I have the same feeling about their music. It has to be something about frequency. Some music just sounds good and we like it but some triggers the very core of our consciousness. I guess there is music for the mind and music for the soul. And CBL music is for both :')
It's not only frequency - it's rhythmic delays and their hallmark liquid SFX, as well as pads/drones washed by the long reverberation. Also they use subtle side-chaining on their bass lines quite a lot that creates rhythmic pump feeling.
Same. I think it's because CBL isn't afraid to bring the warm feelings of the new age genre into their music. So it's kind of dark and atmospheric, yet warm, glowy, smooth. It's what sets them apart from anyone else and why I've loved them for so many years.
I just drove for a distance of 300miles on the highway - having this album on repeat. When I arrived, I felt like I traveled through space & time. I thank CBLF for this opportunity , and hope they can continue to present celestial enlightenment to all.
I dunno about Sweden, but I'm Danish and our languages are similar but spoken with different accents. In Denmark we would say/write "Natvæsen", and it would mean "night creature" or "night being"...and listen to the voice in the track; "they were friendly creatures"..."Væsen" is mostly used for weird beings, it has a negative vibe to it when it's used correctly...Not really a word that is used much anymore either.
^Mythical being is a better word. At first I saw a being like a troll when I saw the word again. But I shouldn't have said "negative vibe". Væsen is more like "an unknown". But by old standards the unknown could probably often be seen as a potential threat. Like we still use væsen when we refer to a space alien here in Denmark; Rumvæsen. Or since "Ronja Røverdatter" is a swedish story, maybe CBL are thinking about "Rumpenisserne". hehehe
Most music fades on you. It gets repetitive, you grow out of it, you mabye still appreciate it, but those feelings it evoked when you discovered it are gone. CBL is not one of them. I still regularly listen to it years later. Whatever ultimatly brought this music into the world. Im thankful for it.
There is no other quite like CBL. Its like they know the code to the universe or something. A bit like a sound version of the flower of life. If that makes sense... They are so unique... Just Perfect!

You approach the turnstiles and know that when you get there, you have to give the man two dollars or he won’t let you inside. But when you get there, everything goes wrong. Some angry rotarian shoves you and you think ‘What’s happening here? They were friendly creatures, not at all evil
I followed then down underground
This is my home now
Well, I'm not sure what to believe about those stories
But I can tell you for damn sure that the girl was nowhere to be found
We searched every inch of that forest and found nothing
And they asked him "What about the forests ?"
All he could say was a sad "Nope"
brings them all together, sends a chill for sure...
Do you have any idea if this is also taken from a movie (like: what about the forests?) or is it CBL's creation?
...to which they replied: "Guess again" [:-{D>
I've waited so long for this. Right now I'm only a minute in and already love where it's taking me. Thank you. For everyone else who loves this too - listen, then please buy, so artists like this can keep making music.
absolutely brilliant! can't wait to get the vinyl version! "Accede" and "780 days" are already my favourite!
Thank you! This made me cry and remember my Dad and I saw him Smiling from above!! Blessings!!
I have been hand-picked by the celestial gods, as a usable specimen of the human, to go forward in time and space as a representative and show other galaxies what inhabits Planet Earth. How humbling this is, and as my theme I have chosen CBLF, to calm and enlighten those who may gaze upon me wondering my intentions.
I thank CBLF for this opportunity , and hope they can continue to present celestial enlightenment to
all.
Love these two, they have such an odd and simplistic way of presenting their art...
11:55 song had me in tears. Brought back some good memories and reminded me of some things I try and forget.

Bitchin. Last full CBL album I recall was Twentythree. Been listening to lots of Koan. Now, fundamental shift. Merci PsyMuse. Carpe diem aeternum.
That number 8 ...
What n1Abyss said. I'd say "väsen" refers to a mythical being.
Im thankful for it.
today i was very angry, but after this album feel peace and calm, thanks CBL

Perfect sound for winter evenings
Carbon Base Lifeforms are gods at what they do.
For me, the best album of all time!
Love that you have no ads. No interruption during my zen phase.
Je découvre votre musique seulement aujourd'hui du haut de mes 42 ans et c'est vraiment... fabuleux. Pleine de sincérité, de sensibilité. Merci.
What's mindblowing is the commercials coming to rip the fabric of space and time when I try to relax to these masterpieces..
CBL you were missed! thanks for this new revelation. art at it's highest form. what a masterpiece
That was scary! I thought the UA-cam channel was taken down for some bullshit reason. Glad that it's back
This is easily one of the best albums I've purchased in my life. Such purity, it eases my soul. Masterpiece.
Gravity, wave, restore equilibrium; movement, back- and forward. Fav damn part of this album.
i first started with early tangerine dream
can never get enough
nattvasen is the best, but the entire album is like a dark fairytale dream. Well done CBL
This just made my day, and I've only heard the first minute! Can't wait to have a proper listen.
There is no other quite like CBL. Its like they know the code to the universe or something. A bit like a sound version of the flower of life. If that makes sense... They are so unique... Just Perfect!
Definitely one of my all-time favourite albums!
First time discovering this band, better late then never I guess! This is an incredible journey, 1:06:30 is real special.

So with Redshift you could actually dream sober... Try it out' Start slowly with ether :D
@@vaclavdvorsky702 “Ah, devil ether. It makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor skills. Blurred vision, no balance, numb tongue. The mind recoils in horror, unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interesting because you can actually watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can’t control it. You approach the turnstiles and know that when you get there, you have to give the man two dollars or he won’t let you inside. But when you get there, everything goes wrong. Some angry rotarian shoves you and you think ‘What’s happening here? What’s going on?’ And you hear yourself mumbling… ‘Dogs fucked the Pope… no fault of mine.’ Ether is the perfect drug for Las Vegas. In this town they love a drunk. Fresh meat. So they put us through the turnstiles and turned us loose inside.”

One year to the day, still as good as day one! Thx CBL!
At 45:00 it's pure perfection. It helps with my story creative process immensely.
Hello. I’m and old prog, hard rock and trad classic techno bands fan (Kraftwerk , Tangerine Dream etc), but I really like these guys. Great sounds on this and world sleepers of too. Thank you for the experience.
