Today was just one of those days where things just fall into place perfectly. This morning I did a major reorganizing of my creative space, went home to clean off all of the dust I kicked up, had a wonderful meal in the park by the river, followed by an unintentional miscalculation of what was meant to be just slightly more than a microdose that wound up being a "dose." Rght around the time things were turning the corner and beginning that gentle descent this video selected itself after my playlist ended. This has been a truly wonderful listen full of relaxed and peaceful healing. A lot of crud that had accumulated in my mind and soul has been cleansed and released. This is my first time hearing Boards Of Canada and this album will forever hold a very special place in my heart.
Welcome! One of the best bands ever. Audio geniuses
Whoever listens to this and finds solace in their soul, you are one of my kind.’

Thank you so much @@weedpuff
@@weedpuff Just listen to Boards for the purpose of this comment...
I'm 24, t's one of the first sunny AND warm Fridays in Seattle right now, and I'm staring out the window, daydreaming of summer camping trips with friends and beers, but I'm at work right now (boooooo) and this video is providing the best soundtrack to reflect on how far I've come over the last few years and how the 17 year old version of me would be happy to see the person I've become
here at age 44, also in Seattle. I discovered BoC more than 20 years ago and still find new depth in their music. enjoy your journey
It's like I'm staring at two chapters of a me in my journey, who lived in Seattle instead while listening to this track and finding these comments.
Welcome young friend. May BoC guide you well in life.
feel like an old cuck saying this but enjoy them days bruvva, 24 was such an awesome time... I'm 38 now and that feels like 10 mins but also somehow 10 lifetimes ago
BoC fans are the most beautiful people on earth. Believe it.
Or else we'll make you believe it.
Im 52 and have liked a lot of music in my life. Boc are special. i can't define it and i dont really want to. I just take them as they are and go with it. i love the albums but the rarities. the ones offs they are special. Im the same age as them so i really feell the nostalgia and their inspirations.
Takes me back to a decade ago when life was less complex. Gracias!
The 39th listen unlocks empathy for others. That did it.
Opening this mix with 5.9.78 is an essential mental palette cleanser to start stimulating the creative process.
Amazing!
Cornwall, England 2024. Still my soundtrack
Long Live The Boards of Canada. This is the soundtrack to the Solar System. Nice work
The fact that you started with this divine track makes me trust you
Fear no evil! All is one.
This is what being on LSD in the mountains sounds like. This duo is iconic and were one of the first ambient producuers to touch my soul. Track 3 with the child brings a tear to my eye everytime. This is art. It has depth and soul,.
Mate, give "Whorl" by Simian Mobile Disco a whirl.
Indeed..
🌲🌈🏔️😁🙏😉🏔️🌈🌲
Worthy children of psykedelik ancestors
i love them
When you're on LSD, no need to go to the mountains at all.
The mountains do come to you anyway. 😵💫
I'm 57 and also Canadian. This reminds me of nature documentaries we had here. With this exact music. This is old music....haha
if you have artist to share please do
they're named after the National Film Board of Canada.
Yep, they're Scottish, not Canadian
Love it. Just about the only thing left in this world that reminds me of who I truly am .. thank you x
Couldn't of summed it up better myself.very eloquent
Hopefully u do find truth, but not from this world. Trough Christ Jesus yes.
Surely finding truth in this world and being truth to yourself is what really matters
@@partlysimpson5154 Trough of Christ, interesting 🤔Just curious why you are in this guys messages, do you like this music?
@@vincentcummings1 some yes, sounds good. Vibes
My uncle died last night, in between of months his health conditions went down really fast. I was trying to help him to heal from long-distance but it took it's own way 🦅 Due to circumstances I haven't seen him for over 20 years, but was always looking forward to see him again. I don't feel guilty as I now life & death are transformative states of our beings and connection is boundless through time & space in universe.
The music is now the instrument to go through all the pain of my ancestors and free them from their suffering, it was about time to be happen 🙏
I feel you, and it sucks to hear. I had this same experience with my Grandmother year ago and I think Boards of Canada helped me through it.
Well said much peace found in Boards Of Canada very good music for the mind and soul Thanks for all your good work guys ❤
Great selection, flows well!
In my opinion some great tracks are missing but it's hard to make a BoC "Best Of", all they do is gold.
48:00 that's very unique. we don't often hear a live track for them!
You nailed it.
I've been a huge fan of BoC since like 2003, when I was a teenager. This is def the best curated set of tracks imaginable, and mixed soo nice and warm and eerie together, just like we like it
they just might be my favorite band
Props to the artists
Props to the dj
55:13 one.. two.. three....and four! Love that bit😊
the fact you included 5.9.78 and skimming stones my two fav boc tracks 🤗🤗
I sit and get chills to this music regularly. Thinking about whatever is troubling me at the time and i work through it.
I already know this is going to be good; it ends with one of my favorite BOC songs....or rather, one of my favorite songs.
Some respect for Skyliner! Most overlooked and underrated BOC tune imo
It’s like minty fresh toothpaste to my mind 🤤🤤🤤
Heck yes you get a huge like and a sub, it's Boards of Canada, you have great taste in music!
5.9.78 sounds like what I would imagine a soundtrack to spring flowers and blooms emerging from winter's slumber, beautiful job :D
Takes me back to the 80’s amazing!!😮😃
Kudos for putting The Beach at Redpoint and Macquarie Ridge on this mix 🙌
great mix. best chill out music for late nights when you're nowhere
absolute apex mix. nailed it
No, this isn't Richard D. James...
@@briggy4359 hahaha, no unfortunately they are not twins
BOC are a daily listen so this is just perfect...thanks for the work x
Nice work Adalaide- nothing but the best for the Caledonian Masters! (no pun intended) Electronic Music composed & produced like NO others- People will analyze their works for many years to come. The complexity of creating tracks with available hard and software of the 90's was truly daunting, a combination of analog editing, sequencing & sampling as well as studio instrumental performance, and finally or firstly- the musical compositions- yes they work with classical music theory. Boards of Canada. from Scottland. Believe. I'm wellin up.
Selection on point!
Thank You! Great compilation. Especially that not obvious things here.
damn. most of my favs are here
Was about to say the same. Great selection of BoC magic together in one mix :)
Love the mix, really tough to add only one hour of their best tunes - also love the Untitled one at 48 mins - Machinedrum has a really good version of it that he recreated from scratch and also added some of the punters talking on the bg. Cheers!
Thanks !!
OP also edited out the guy dropping a perfectly timed “what a treat!” a second before the audience goes wild. That is an essential part of the emotional release of that track.
The Music is the drug
I got goosebumps when Turqoise Hexagon Sun came on
You don’t need drugs to enjoy this song 🎧📲❣️☮️
But I could imagine it on some good mdma
I need this selection on cd!
I wonder if they would be up for releasing it on warp
Sound of an era !
Which one?

So great! Subscribed to UA-cam just so I can blast this out at home and listen on my bike. Thank you DJ Adalaide
Timeless - brilliant - intoxicating.
A proper "Best of Boards Of Canada" compilation should include every single track of their discography
Feel free to make one and upload it
Last time I heard of "Boards Of Canada" was almost a decade ago.
coincidentally this came on recommendations right now.
briliant selection of tracks^ respect
There is nothing bad that can be said about BoC in anyway, at all, ever...
Perfect music to write to
53.40 min mark SOOOOO SIKKKKKKK! love it...dont even mind the crowd shouting...adds a very BOC element to it
This makes me feel like I could just step off a high rise and fly into another dimension before I ever bit the ground.
This is super nice when the PTSD is bad
Truly amazing! 😊
Slow this Bird Down - that sums it all up.
Geoggaddi was my soundrack of my 2nd (n final) year in london, 2001 . horrible university, cool music at teddy's only.
Hallo distant cousins
Same! BOC Maxima came out in my final year. Pretty much wore the tape out. It was about the only thing that kept me sane!
Such a great vibe to this mix. Britain really does produce some talent. And that's coming from an American.
Loving Boards Of Canada and also other various UK electronica based acts like
Massive Attack, Faithless, Burial, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, UNKLE, Autechre,
The Prodigy, Leftfield, Stereo Mcs, Apex Twin, Goldie, The Bug, AllFlaws
Thanks man, this in combination with riding my EUC is the perfect flow 👌🙋🏼♂️
Wow awesome mix! Some great tracks here!
this is ... amazing. Very thanks for sharing this.
:)
Hell, yes!
should have had Boqurant before 5.9.78
amazing mix
I love BoC so much
Boqurant < 5.9.78

thanks for this 48:00
God, when this was new, it made some of my friends really angry. But I didn't need those friends.
angry? why?
@@ax2781 too new, didn't count as real music to them
@@stevecarter8810sounds kind of fucked up lmao, especially when 20-25 years later we have seen a bunch of small artists trying to almost « emulate » the style of BoC. to me they don’t even do just music, they also design mental places to visit
@@ax2781it's a bit like the stir that vaporwave made. Anyone who's habituated to what came before suddenly finds their listening habits don't work anymore, and lots of people get mad about the new thing when that happens. For BoC it was similar, the staticness of the progression, the lack of melody, harmony and lyric... Like putting a marble statue at the front of a movie theater instead of playing a film, people are gonna get mad, it doesn't mean it's a bad statue.
@@stevecarter8810 yeahhh so glad you're making the comparison with vaporwave . . . they'll always get their admirers and thats cool. like, everyone knows an "ugly" statue/piece of urban art that everyone hates except you. cool stuff, everything gets to be seen or heard
i dont like to mental masturbate about genres or labels like ewww IDM (love braindance tho?) but i find it funny to allow it to be described as POST MUSIC hhh
plus, BoC community is really an adorable one lets admit
this is a great mix! I am from Canada and TIL the band is from Scotland
I'm Scottish and thought the band were Canadian.
@@alhal8024I'm English and thought the band was Nepalese, Although I do have relatives in Scotland and Canada 🤔
they spent some of their childhood in Alberta iirc
@@wormhole.johnson That's cool. Also, if I remember, they liked the NFB films (National Film Board of Canada), which they based their name off
@@wormhole.johnson You are right. Their father was hired for the construction of the Saddledome for 1984 Olympics in Canada.
48:02 .... BIEN, DALE!!!
I even subscribed!
There's another dude from London that does music like this and for the life of me I can't remember what his name is 😢
I love these tracks... All on high rotation.
Can you post the track listing bookmarks again DJ Adeliade? They have dropped off the top comments list. Thanks!
They are the best! I've added the track listing to my pinned comment.
Ah yes,
yall should give (Artist) Bent a listen
Hell yeah, I'm the 666th person to leave a like here! It deserves way more though, thanks for the mix :)
I bet Borders of Canada had a HUGE influence on C418. It really just sounds like him. His music outside of Minecraft sounds very similar.
Yeah, I´ve really noticed that on his track "26" from the album "life changing moments seem minor in pictures".

Dear Adelaide, this is a glorious compilation. My dog and I appreciate you and we wish you well.
im interested in buying a vinyl copie, but im not able to find Macquarie Ridge. Google tells me its on the campire album but i am not able to find it on the setlist. Anybody got some information on this ?
thanks for the mix btw, this got me interested in Boards of Canada
I don't think you can buy vinyl with macquarie ridge on it, its on the japanese version of the cd and as far as i know there is no vinyl version of the album for Japan
