  • Episode 7 covers our Annex - it is where we grow all our grains and cereals.
    #WhatsGrowing is a mini-series where we take you on a virtual tour around Aanandaa. We show you what is growing, how it is growing and what we are harvesting.
    The benefit of this series is that all of you can see what is growing at Aanandaa during one specific month. The more videos we make, the more detailed our documentation will be!
    If you like this video and want to see more content like this, please do drop a comment letting us know so we can plan out some more videos for everyone!
    Thanks for stopping by, stay safe xx

Thankyou for taking this video and sharing with us. I had been thinking that if I had a land of my own i may have to walk around with a stick, so seeing you with one today in your video, made me smile. It was interesting to see a different part of your farm. The poplars look great and give a charming style to your farm. I like your experiment with growing maize and rice. How often to you give jeevaamruth to the maize and rice? Do you ever stop giving them that or how far in their farming do you provide it to them? How much jeevamruth do you need to make for the maize and rice. I feel it is daunting. But I guess you became ready for a new challenge now, since the time you started Aananda. Really proud of you.

    Hi! Thanks for the video.
    How did you prepare the land for rice fields? You transplanted right? And, did you use a tractor this time?

    • @farmaanandaa
      @farmaanandaa  4 роки тому +1

      Yes we still tractor our fields, which we are slowing converting into small.plots, to keep the tractor out. Now for Rabi season, there will be no tractoring here as we are cutting smaller plots out of these fields.

    My questions
    Why don't you harvest honey from honey hive?
    Why will you not consume milk from your cow?

    • @farmaanandaa
      @farmaanandaa  4 роки тому +1

      Webare trying to increaee the population of bees. Bees can either make combs or honey. We want them to focus on combs for a few years!
      We don't like to drink cows milk. We dont believe we need it. It belongs to the calf.

    Reason for Ashok trees and not fruit trees in the passages?

    • @farmaanandaa
      @farmaanandaa  4 роки тому +2

      Fruit trees will cast a big shadow on the plots. Ashok trees have the structure of a windbreak. You can also use Casuarina, Silver Oak, Poplar or Teak. We chose Ashok for this patch.

      Trees growing North - South cast shorter shadows.
      Thanks for that tip. We grow paddy and we need the Sun . That solves the problem of too much shade!

    Couldn't take my eyes off the poplars and ashokas. Are Ashokas commercial too?
    Will it be viable to make thinner columns of cereals with more timber? I mean, if we are only growing paddy, maize etc for personal consumption and not for scale.
    Did the dogs die of poisoning or got beaten up? Either way, it's sad to know.
    I am sorry. Too excited.

      Read up about alley cropping. You ca plant more shrubs and bushes, but not tall trees.
      Ashokas are not commercial
