Posting this again in response to you: My problem too. In another fixit video the guy shows how to take yr MAcpro apart down to the I&Oboard and simply clean everything using propyl alcohol. I think my Mbkpro is just filthy as by the previous owner who gave it to me, it was covered in dirt sitting on a gardening shed floor. I cleaned it up and tried all the resets which I already know but none of them worked. Now I have to take it apart to clean it inside and if that doesn't work I hand it over to the CIA ;)
Hello. So I am currently doing technic number 3. It rebooted but it is stuck on the 'language' setting page. The arrow is not working and it is very noisy. I am not sure what to do? Do I switch it off and start again?
My wife gave me her old MacBook when she upgraded and about a year later (today) I got a black screen and was worried it finally died.. Ctrl+Option+P+R and it was right back. Thanks a million!
I tried all of these and it didn't work, so I removed the backplate and unclipped the battery and a few of the other cables in the back (I think about 4) waited about 3mins, connected them all back and BINGO! I turned it on and the screen came on straight away. I think the problem with mine was I left it on standby till the battery fully died.
Interesting stuff, but what if the screen stays black, and you cannot pick any of the options you mentioned? I’m experiencing this now. I have tried it, I have start up sound and black screen. Nothing seems to be working 🤷♂️
FYI: 2017 Macbook Pro started going black Dec 2020. It would start but only if lid was raised 10cm only. Computer was put away and not used. June2021at Mac shop in Galapagos I described problem and the guy I spoke to had encountered this COMMON PROBLEM previously with this model, its a Faulty tape connector from keyboard/base to screen. $400USD fix if I was in the states but here closer to $700USD. Dec 2021 finally back in NZ, My solution: External Monitor connected through Thunderbolt-HDMI adapter $130USD. Laptop is now a desktop. 😞 Oh and now the lid/Screen does not work at all.
Hey, i just figured out my problem..when I open the screen slowly, the screen comes back on..when I raise it further, it goes blank..do you know if its just a loose connection or does the tape connector actually go bad and needs replacement? Thanks..now at least I know whats wrong with it..👍🏻
@@michaelsteven1090 sorry it has to be replaced, this is exactly what mine did.…and its not cheap. Apple do not acknowledge it as a fault (no surprises there) hence my solution above. Also I have to have the power cable plugged in at same time as External monitor. Good luck.

Thanks for the video, I have mac book pro mid 2015, liquid was spilled on it and now the screen don't work, when I plug it to an external screen after starting I can hear the startup sound and the screen show a black screen with the mouse pointer on it only, is there any hope for it, or get another one?
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear about the liquid spill on your MacBook Pro. Based on your description, it sounds like the liquid damage has affected the internal components of your MacBook, and specifically the display. Since you are able to hear the startup sound and see the mouse pointer on an external display, it's possible that the MacBook Pro's graphics card is still functional, but the display or its connections have been damaged. In this case, you might want to take your MacBook to an authorized Apple service provider or an experienced technician to diagnose and repair the issue. However, liquid damage can be complicated to repair and depending on the extent of the damage, the cost of repair may be prohibitive. Therefore, if the cost of repair is too high or if the damage is too extensive, it may be more practical to consider getting a replacement MacBook Pro. I would recommend consulting with a technician or authorized Apple service provider to determine the best course of action for your situation.
Thank you for this informative video. Unfortunately I’m still not able to fix the black screen so far. When the power is connected it does make sound & only the ESC button lights. If I shine a light on the screen I can FAINTLY see the foreign languages welcome screen but still so dark that I can’t do anything with it. 😩
Hi there, thank you for your question! You can try reset the System Management Controller (SMC) by shutting down your MacBook Pro, connecting the power adapter, and pressing and holding Shift + Control + Option + Power button for about 10 seconds. Check the battery connections to ensure they are secure and verify that the new battery is compatible with your specific MacBook Pro model. Update your macOS to the latest version to ensure any potential software-related issues are resolved. If the problem persists, contact the battery manufacturer for troubleshooting or reach out to Apple Support for further assistance and potential replacement options.

Hi there, thank you for your question. Experiencing a black screen while using Photoshop on a Mac could be due to various reasons. It might be related to software issues, graphics card problems, or even hardware concerns. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue: Update Photoshop and macOS: Ensure that both Photoshop and your macOS are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Graphics Card Drivers: Check if your graphics card drivers are up to date. Visit the official website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA or AMD) and download the latest drivers. Graphics Card Issues: Test the graphics card by using other graphics-intensive applications or running stress tests. If the black screen issue persists across different applications, it might indicate a problem with the graphics card.

Hi Mike- Thank you so much. My MacBook had a “black screen” for three days. You showed me how to fix it when Best Buy’s Geek Squad had No idea!!!! You are the best! ♥️
Hi there, thank you for your question! Your Macbook may be in Activation Lock mode, which is a security feature that locks your device to your Apple ID to prevent unauthorized access. You can try resetting your Apple ID password by going to the Apple ID account page and following the steps to verify your identity and reset your password. If you still cannot access your MacBook Air, you can format it by booting it into recovery mode, selecting "Disk Utility," and erasing your startup disk before reinstalling macOS. However, note that formatting your MacBook Air will erase all data from your device, so make sure you have backed up all important files before proceeding.

Hi there, thank you for your question. If you're experiencing a black screen during the macOS reinstallation process on your MacBook Pro, there are several possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can take: Check Display and Connection: Ensure that your display is functioning correctly. Try connecting your MacBook Pro to an external monitor to see if the display appears on the external screen. Check the cable connection between your MacBook Pro and the display. If using an external display, try a different cable. Reset NVRAM/PRAM: Shut down your MacBook Pro. Turn it back on and immediately press and hold the Option, Command, P, and R keys simultaneously. Keep holding the keys until you hear the startup sound for the second time. Release the keys and see if the display issue is resolved. Boot in Safe Mode: Restart your MacBook Pro and hold down the Shift key immediately after you hear the startup sound. Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo. Booting in Safe Mode might correct certain display issues.

When I do the reinstall mac os step, the display is still black and I cannot see the mac OS Utilities screen. My Macbook pro is on but has no picture.
Hi there, thank you for your question. If you're experiencing a black screen during the macOS reinstallation process on your MacBook Pro, there are several possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can take:
Check Display and Connection:
Ensure that your display is functioning correctly. Try connecting your MacBook Pro to an external monitor to see if the display appears on the external screen.
Check the cable connection between your MacBook Pro and the display. If using an external display, try a different cable.
Reset NVRAM/PRAM:
Shut down your MacBook Pro.
Turn it back on and immediately press and hold the Option, Command, P, and R keys simultaneously.
Keep holding the keys until you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys and see if the display issue is resolved.
Boot in Safe Mode:
Restart your MacBook Pro and hold down the Shift key immediately after you hear the startup sound.
Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo.
Booting in Safe Mode might correct certain display issues.
Thank you resetting nvram fixed my problem thank you so much
