Hi, I am looking for a solution on how to sort files by Photos Capture Time instead of Created (it's the time when I exported). I can find this time at file info, but can't sort by it. Thanks.
My absolute favorite tip that I would like to add is to create a "Screenshot" folder, and route all screenshots to go there rather than create desktop clutter.
@@riditnimdia13coming from a lifetime user of windows and using Mac for work, you don’t think windows has any unnecessary issues? Or annoying bugs? Different strokes bro
I definitively learn a couple of new tricks: - A better finder organization - Control keys combined with hot corners - Dock preferences removing the genie effect and minimize in application - Greater spotlight control even if I use Alfred - Flux with I use on Windows but didn't know it could be a good option on Mac too - Reminding me to use Widgets on desktop :D - And many more... Thanks!
I’m only 3 minutes in and impressed how straightforward and simple this video is! I’ve had Mac for years and learning some new tricks and tips! Thank you!
A few more suggestions: - Under Finder Preferences enable the setting to keep folders on top vs mixed with file names. (Optional for desktop) - Under Control Center enable the battery option for control center and hide it for the task bar to remove an icon. Still show up in control center. - In the same area customize Date and Time to remove AM/PM and day of week to save more space on menu bar
Thank you so much for showing how to change the drag options! I haven't had a Mac in almost a decade but I distinctly remember having that function and didn't know if there was a setting buried somewhere on my new M2 MBA. thanks again so much mate
One of the few videos on the topic that is actually immensely helpful. I didn't know about the "Recents" folder fix or the mouse adjustments. Everything works much more seamlessly now. Thank you so much!
This was a wildly informational video, I had to stop a couple times for each of the features to make sure that I adjusted and added them. Super valuable thanks😊
I’m 2:31 in, so far I’ve shared the video, liked and just appreciate everything you’ve said without a super long intro. This is perfect, many thanks! 🙌🏼
After being a windows user for past 8 to 10 years especially because of gaming and stuff, buying M3 MacBook pro tomorrow for college, got to watch the video, it was amazing.
I am moving from Windows to MacOS and this brings me a smoother transition configuring with same behaviors than in Windows in some aspects. This information is gold! Thank so much!
I've been using a Mac for 18 years and never thought to look at customising the Finder window to this level of detail before. I'd only ever customised the sidebar a little by removing a few things and adding common locations. Have adjusted Finder now, will be interesting to see if I feel any difference as a lot of the options were lost on me anyway.
So many useful tips!! So many things i've been irritated by before, like how the spotlight search just gives you useless hits - now i can actually use it! Thanks!
Great video. I am sitting here with my new MacPro and following along. I must confess I had to replay many sections in order to execute the feature. Thank you.
@3:15, I don't seem to be able to get the "None of the following are true" option... option-clicking and regularly clicking the + button does the same thing.
8:43 .. "feels much more natural to me" Question: When you push a piece of paper across your desk, does it slide in the opposite direction? Thank you for the excellent video. I didn't realize the desktop widgets could remain monochrome, which I prefer.
Just thinking the same. When natural scrolling is on the screen moves like it is under your finger like on iphone and ipad. For me it would be weird if i need to scroll in ”wrong direction” when on mac. So I have it on. Everything else in this video was spot on amazing 😊
Thanks for the video. if you want more screen room make the dock automatically hide-show on the bottom or side, and the toolbar on the top in settings.
back in the day we could scroll through files in finder. So we could go to a folder and we could use the center mouse scroll wheel to view preview images of photos, PDF.s etc. Can we still enable that function?
I watch these type of videos sometimes. But unlike most of the others, I actually picked up a few useful tips and applied to my system. Will be checking out other videos from this channels.
I just took some of the very good tips to configure my new and first Mac. But next time when I buy a new one it should remember the settings or not? As it is connected with my ID. Is it necessary to do it each time manual? I don't think so.

Do you have a purple "Recents" folder within the Smart Folder? When I created mine, it showed up in there and it's basically an unclickable placeholder.
Hey @@ChristianBarresi, sorry for the late reply! I do indeed have a purple folder within the Smart Folder, and nothing happens when you click on it. But it's not getting in the way. One additional tip I can give you is to play around with the Grouping options within finder. In addition to sorting, you can group items by many different proporties like file type, app, etc. Many of these options will also kind of hide the purple folder from view. It's a simple workaround and a great under-utilized Finder feature!

For the better Recents folder, do you have a purple Recents folder that is in the new Recents folder? I wish I could send a screenshot, but it looks like it's a placeholder for the new folder itself? Is there any way to get rid of it? It's always at the top because it's technically the most recent thing opened since I'm opening it itself to get into the folder.
cool recommendations indeed. I appreciate a lot!! just one small request: You running it like a sprint ... I know: all about efficiency. Right? But it's sometimes hard to follow immediately, which - for me - in the end takes even more times to get it all checked or done, because of the repeated stop&replay. ☺
