All logical input! My twitching of my right hand fingers seems to have come about right around the same time as my shoulder impingement problem. Perhaps this is related.
I've been having finger tremors that have gotten pretty bad in the last 2 years. I play the guitar quite frequently, however it never really seemed to be overpracticing since I have friends that practice a lot more. I also have noticed twitches on my limbs and neck area which is more recent and may not be related. I should probably go to a neurologist, anything in particular that I should point out to the doctor? Also what tests are taken during a diagnosis?

I often have my left little finger twitch for about 30 seconds sometimes in my leg or arm and on rare occasions my left eyebrow. It will go on for longer of I dont interrupt it by moving. My doctor did blood tests but said nothing was unusual and hasn't suggested to try anything else. I'm only 28 and do plenty of physical activity as a mechanic.
Dear C Reed, It's very perplexing to have the symptoms you described and not know why it's happening. Have you considered seeking a second opinion to get another perspective, or put your mind at ease that it's nothing to worry about? Best wishes to you.
@@DeborahQuilter I will at some point try to get another opinion. In the UK you are assigned a public doctor (GP) that is local to you and all referrals and prescriptions must go through them. My left middle finger began twitching, in a spqsm like way, anout a month ago, seems to be more lately. 15 - 20 times a day. Im thinking (hoping!) Its from my workouts with weights and pushups that may have caused a repetive strain injury. Its quite alarming waiting to see if it will go away! If you develop a RSI finger tremor from playing piano, and stop playing piano, can it actually go away? And how long might the tremor take to subside? Where does the nerve entrapment occur? Can RSI present as JUST tremor and no other symptoms (pain, nerve buzziness and/or heat sensation, etc)?
Hello, Lying with Statistics, you need to speak to your doctor about why this is happening. But RSI can present very differently for people: some people don't have any pain, for instance. And while you said you got RSI from playing the piano, remember that that's not the only thing you do with your hands. Perhaps you use the computer? Or perform other repetitive activities on a daily basis? All of these can contribute to cumulative trauma disorder. Best wishes to you.

I have had the whole right side go numb on me for about three minutes and the feeling comes back the twitching is aggravating.

I have a tremor in my left index finger, particularly when I extend it. It starts shaking very violently. I read ET is 7x more likely than PD but I also read ET isn't unilateral and I don't drink coffee nor alcohol so I'm a bit worried. I first noticed it when I put my thumb over the alt button and index finger on the E button, my finger started shaking when I hovered over the E with my index finger. I suspected it could be RSI but wouldn't my finger shake whilst it was unextended as well if that was the case? Also wouldn't RSI hurt? This is painless so makes me question if it's RSI
One of the biggest misconceptions about RSI is that it's always painful. It isn't. I am not a doctor and can't answer your question, so please find a skillful doctor who can sort this out for you. Meantime, I highly recommend that you never use your thumb to strike a key. It puts the thumb in an awkward position and stresses the joint.
