I really liked Irredeemable and Incorruptible. I'm not much of a writer-focused comic fan, so as long as it's not woke and cringe, I'm usually good with it if I like the art. Unless it's Mark Millar. I'll read anything he writes. BY FAR my favorite writer.
I want to know what continuity does World's Finest takes place in. The current Superman & Lois is from the post crisis era & brought to new 52/Prime Earth after Convergence & stayed hidden for 10 years (New 52 JL #1-Action Comics #52[?]). So how did Post Crisis Superman do early adventures with Batman & Dick Grayson Robin in World's Finest???

Remember the lazerious planet storyline started in Worlds Finest... It was a story that took place back when Dick was Robin .. so I imagine "We are yesterday", hence the title, is flashing back in WF and takes place now in JLU ..
Back when Kingdom Come came out, Mark Waid was hot. However, with the invention of Twitter, people have gotten to know him more personally than they probably wanted to, and they don't like the man. It's turned them off to his work, whether it's good or not.

I think dc wants you to fall in love or go all in on a character. Keep everything short a sweet so people will invest more. As long as your reading 1 title your part of the all in event. There should be a main book. All in special issue 2 and more. WHAT HAPPENED TO BOOSTER. Theres actualy a story thats not being told and THAT SUCKS

Its not just mid, it's mildly annoying since now we have to deal with the aftermath shuffling everyones powers around and some really awful looking new designs. Also this sounds like more of an ultrahumanite type story, not Grodd.

Mark Waid is one of very few comic book creators that can really write a pretty decent superhero book in these days but he's not so good with mega events or crossovers. I skipped Absolute Power in the past year,because I knew that would suck. So will probably skip this too. And Justice League didn't killed Darkseid. Was the Specter.

Infinite Frontier came out Dark Nights: Death Metal. Were they claimed everything was canon and ppl membered past lives, they didn't much with it. Dark Crisis started out interesting, as it was supposed 2 be the big event that was teased during Swamp Thing comics during the 1st Crisis. But DC kinde botched it. Absolute Power had interesting things in it, in the side comics.
World Finest from the 3 issues i own are just stories set in the past. Which is cool because DC restored the timeline and all the past stories are getting fleshed out as new stories we havent seen before.The better stories are probably recontextual silver age stuff. but the current world finest story is just a random aquaman adventure. the same adventure was referenced in the same week issue of JLU.
Superman/Batman World's finest is set in the past. So, Grood knowing the future means he knows stuff from the JL Unlimited timeline. I like that it's a smaller event. Too bad it's Mark Waid writing.

Got bored of DC events, there's been far too many, then the reboots, I get invested in a story and then they reboot as other titles aren't performing. Seems the writers and editorial just cant keep a universe alive more then a few years without rebooting. Back in the 80's and 90's, post crisis, how many reboots were there? How many huge events? Not that many, characters had their own events over a year, but not huge must read crossovers, now I miss an event and I'm lost until I go back and read it
Not a lot of critical thinking going on over here at the Thinking Critical channel. This is a 3-part crossover, not an event. World's Finest is in continuity with the rest of the mainline DC books, it's just set in the not-too-distant past, and it's always cool when other characters show up because we get to see their earlier versions. Saying that a story doesn't make sense before you actually read the story is incredibly dumb. But hey, you've gotta get those outrage clicks somehow.

His Fantastic Four and JLA (especially Tower of Babel) runs are very popular. It's probably a way to attempt to entice both newer readers who know him from Worlds Finest as well as readers who know him from the early 2000s.

I think they messed up because they Established that Connor Hawke aka Green Arrow Jr may be the best Hand to Hand combative in the DC universe. He defeated Damien twice even temporarily killing Damien. If I was DC , in the wake of Ras Al Guhl death I would have Made Connor the new leader of the League of Assassins. He's pretty much immortal because of Dragons Blood. He would make z great ' next generation' Ras Al Guhl.

I m a fan of both his Hulk run and his Black Widow but both had a decline in story later in the runs. His Marvel work also decline in quality not just because he became obsessed with Trump(famous for Modok Trump) but it seemed like his love and interest in the characters wained. And then he moved to DC and his love of those characters really shows. But if he starts to concentrate too much on how bad things are because of Trump and lose interest in writing comics, it just becomes a job he gets through, well it might be marvel... or even Crossgen all over again. But no I don't care about if he likes or doesn't like Trump. I m still picking up his DC books. Waid doesnt come across well, but hes writing a lot of good comics right now. His action run was actually solid and epic, WF is great, jlu is good, batman & robin year one is terrific Cantwell is a much better write than you give him credit for, plastic man no more was one of the best books of 2024; challengers of the unknown has been very good Ĥampton is absolutely terrible

We Are Yesterday reminds me of the awful appropriation of the Bowie lyric We Could Be Heroes back during the beginning of the Jim Lee reboot.

I liked waids action comics. It wasn't unbelievable or extremely memorable but it baseline good a B grade.

Waid doesnt come across well, but hes writing a lot of good comics right now. His action run was actually solid and epic, WF is great, jlu is good, batman & robin year one is terrific
Cantwell is a much better write than you give him credit for, plastic man no more was one of the best books of 2024; challengers of the unknown has been very good
Ĥampton is absolutely terrible
I think Wes would really enjoy Cantwell’s non superhero work like Everything. His actual superhero work… not that great.
