Thank god Mark Millar & Geoff Johns are still in the industry, they’re both doing great things.
They are the only 2 writers whose books I will buy regardless of what they are, because they’re always better than 99% of what else is out there.
Happily a Catholic Comic reader who is super excited for Miller's most Catholic Comic!
Millar’s Nemesis is great. I’m thankful to have Mark Millar, Geoff Johns, and Peter J Tomasi still writing comics in a industry that is starved for talent
I like Mark's series that are dark and gritty but I must admit his Huck was one I loved and made me smile whilst reading. It took me back to my childhood of experiencing comic books.
I'm a massive Mark Millar fan. If his name is on a book as a writer, you can guarantee I'm picking it up, and he's never let me down yet. Can't wait to see what he and Romita Jr are cooking up.
To be sure, I asked Mark on X/Twitter about if VATICAN CITY 🇻🇦 was set in the Millarworld and he said “Good question!” And that there’s a reference to the Vatican City Earth in Magic Order, of which I haven’t read. There was a book in the Magic Order that the heroes hide out in and that world was Vatican City so no it doesn’t take place in Millarworld specifically yet there is a door to it. Cheers!
I've never been a fan of Millar, but I'm glad he's offering alternatives for readers.
I am so happy that they are releasing the library edition of millarworld . Re-reading magic order in that huge book is just awesome.
I might have to find Huck because I don’t think I’ve liked a single Mark Millar book I’ve read. They are often dark, violent and cynical.
Happy that we have an update on what's ahead for Millarworld. I don't want to miss anything Mark Millar puts out there.
Can’t wait for the books and interview!
I’m hoping for a redemption story for JRJR art wise. His Marvel work doesn’t look his best, and we know Mark will bring out his A game
Did you mean Superior? Alan Moore did Supreme.
Mark Miller is Comic Royalty
Vatican City sounds like Omega Man with Charlton Heston , it's a great film
Based on I am legend from the 50s
The most catholic millar world stuff was American Jesus for obvious reasons.
But I thought his swamp thing run was full of catholic and religious themes that weren’t in the title previous to him writing.
That’s a lot of food on the plate, hope he doesn’t choke
I loved Huck, Big Game and most stuffs from Millar World. I'm very Hyped.
I already have Vatican City on my pull list
Kick-ass/wolverine?
There was an ad for that at the end of nemesis rogues gallery
So, what happened to Mark doing something "big" at Marvel? I haven't heard anything on that in a while. Could this secret project with JRjr be that? It seems you are saying it isn't. Has Mark abandoned the plan to do something at Marvel, or is it still happening, this video has me a little disappointed there was no update on that.
I stopped believing him when he said countless times he would do the greatest Superman story only to do literally anything else instead and saying he wouldn't anymore. Never falling for that again.
Mark Millar is the best of the best. And in all those great books Huck really stood out. I always thought that it would make a great movie. I'm so glad his story is not over. Huck is the very definition of what it means to be a hero. Superior storytelling.
I love the sound of that vampire story, but not sure about Narwal being the artist, I wasn’t a fan of his artstyle in other comics I seen a few years ago.
Mark's really upped his game the last 12 months. He just gets better and better. I'm still chuckling at some of the dialogue from the final issue of Nemesis: Rogues Gallery. "Good Evening Perverts!" and "Oh Really! Do you kiss your cows with that filthy mouth?" in particular *chef's kiss*. I really need to go back and re-read the first Nemesis series, and I'm kicking myself for skipping Nemesis Reloaded. Going to have to track that series down soon. So good to read a series that actually sticks the landing. Can't wait for the final issue of Night Club 2 which was my favourite of the recent / current Millarworld books. I'll won't be skipping anything Millarworld related in future.
I'm in for Vatican City, that looks awesome 👌
Im excited for Nemesis Wes!
I'm not a Millarworld reader but the more indie stuff being releasing is better. DC and Marvel don't are hot anymore in these days.
Imho, 2024 comic book mvp list should definitely be topped by mark Millar and Geoff Johns.
Eh... Mark Millar has become incredibly one note with plotting:
1) Cool Character introduced
2) in 2nd to last issue disgustingly horrible villain drops the bomb and reveals how screwed character is
3) In final issue, deus ex machine by hero or heroine reveals villains ultimate plot has been defeated by something put into action issues early.
4) Few quips happen. The end.
Isn't he making a Snake Plissken comic? Any news?
Read quite a lot of 30 Days of Nights, some American Vampire (early days) and the Drackula by Jones/Wagner. Yeah up for some Vampire stuff.
I’m looking forward to Vatican City! I love the idea.
Huck kicks ass
11:36 - It will upset Heidi and Rich?!!? Sign me up for 2 to collect and 1 to read!!
If it upsets Heidi & Rich then it has to be something like Jon Kent & Tim Drake are turned back to straight, normal characters again xD
@@lk8181 If only, right?
I’ll have to check out the vampire book. Sounds interesting
This is all pretty exciting news
Tried Dick Tracy? Its good
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Nemesis Forever? Will he encounter someone who is more nasty and vicious than he is??
I loved Huck and Starlight. You are right about the comparison to Tom Strong. I'm not too interested in another vampire story. Kind of burnt out on that genre. But anything Millar writes is going to be a quality book. Something you really can't say about most comic writers. I really enjoyed the recent Prodigy and Nemesis mini series and am looking forward to Huck v2. Good take by you, Wes.
An apocalypse where all of humanity is somehow destroyed and the cover is anime ?
No Thank you.
My question is, will Millar actually break out and write something new than every men finding out about global conspiracies. That's ALL he's been writing of late. I want something new. Vatican, Huck doesn't sound much different. I could be wrong. Would be nice for once.
These are all well and good. I am glad Huck will be back. I really enjoyed the first Huck story he did. Very fun and heart warming. Having said that, Millar World books do not sell anywhere near where they did when the imprint first began. Yes they make money, but what I really need to know is Mark doing a Marvel project or not? That would have the ability to draw readers back in that aren't there for the 3rd installment of Magic Order etc. If he's not going to do anything I wish he'd just say so now and get it out of the way. His project with JRJR, if it lives up to hype, could be a real market mover. I hope that it is as I'd be all behind it. Especially if it upset some douce like Rich Johnston etc.....that's my perspective. But don't get me wrong good MIllar World books are desired, but need to know on Marvel plain and simple. WTF20.
The Japanese have even threatened Mark Millar if any US Publisher tries to sell Comics outside their own country they will destroy it, most countries belong to Manga/Anime.
Well, Wes, you can ask anyone from Mexico, Brazil, Russia, China or India who Itachi Uchiha and Vegeta are, recognize them once Manga/Anime dominates the entire planet.
JR JR. No thanks
The more Millar, the better!
Vatican City sounds like the vampire story I've always wanted to see. Pretty excited for that.
I've never read the first Huck, so I don't have an opinion on that. Is it good?
More Nemesis is great. I still think Reloaded is the best out of the 3.
Yes, Huck is good.
Read Huck today!
@@32FONickweiser gonna try to find a copy at my LCS on the weekend
Thanks for your content! A lot of other channels I follow, while I like them, have a less nuanced take on comics and had me convinced there weren't any good books out there. I appreciate your reviews because while honest, you do make sure to point out that there are still good comics being made! Really appreciate it. Would love to see you on Nerdrotic!
The Japanese usually sell more than 800 million mangas outside their country every year, dominating the world of comics with an iron fist.
Mark millar is God. I buy everything he writes since forever. If he farts i buy it.😂
Batman forever is the third batman movie the fourth one is batman and robin everybody's favorite 🤣🤣🤣
