I wasn't going to watch this. I love this song and I just figured anyone else performing it would just ruin it. Then I listened to another song of hers, and then another one and then another one. This woman is great! I am now a fan of KT Tunstall!!
never thought anyone could cover this song, absolute favorite BD song all time, then KT does it and I love it even more!! Only KT can cover Dylan in my opinion!
KT Tunstal you really know how to breathe new life in this song with all your Heart & Soul ❤ . . . Keep On Keeping on . . . Like a Bird That FlewTangle Up In Blue 👍
She’s making me feel vulnerable and giving me chills up and down with her growling vocals and prowess on this fantastic Dylan song. The band is awesome, too. She’s performing in NYC on May 18th - after seeing this video I must go see.
KT never fails to impress or deliver the goods. Her voice is so unique and genuine. She puts all of the pop so called wanna be singers to shame. I think Bob would smile and give a nod. Keep up the good work girl, never be a sell out. Stay your lovely honey voiced self.
K.T never fails to amaze, She is the best female singer around. She makes each song her own while staying true to the original artist...I think Bob would smile and nod...Keep up the great work KT, dont sell out like the rest of them.
Amazing song - check Amazing poet/song writer - check Amazing band - check Amazing singer - check Amazing growling voice - check Amazing lady - check Well, she checks all the boxes for me.
I really like this lady. Incredibly unique voice reminiscent of Kim Carnes and Janis and a few other lower register female vocalists. Add to the fact to chose a few excellent cuts from Dylan and covered them well I think there's something there.
If Bob Dylan had only ever written Tangled Up In Blue and Like a Rolling Stone he’d still be considered a major artist. This is a lyrical masterpiece. Kate does it complete justice.
Janis Joplin came from heaven to be incorporated by KT to sing this song. I normally hate covers but this is a special one! I just love this record and this song!! Great video!
KT never ceases to amaze me. This is the first time I saw this, amazingly fantastic. I can also say I've never seen a drummer actually use maracas as drum sticks either.
You know, she gets it! What a fantastic (hot) artist! Some dismiss Dylan or basic chord structures as "stoner jams" or "gibberish".. but if you really get it, it's some of the most soothing, spiritual, real music ever. Although I don't know you, great job Katie! Keep spreading the vibe!
Isismusicnow; With all due respect, I don't see one comment that states this is the best version. They are all saying this is the best cover. If you are the Dylan fan you seem to be, you know it's not easy to cover Bob's music and I think this is done very well.
Great version of this track! Honestly I've never heard the lady before ... but she has a really soulful, gritty/ bluesy voice (which reminded me of Bonnie Raitt) so I shall check out some more of her stuff. Cool chick too!
Early one mornin' the sun was shinin' I was layin' in bed Wondrin' if she'd changed at all If her hair was still red Her folks they said our lives together Sure was gonna be rough They never did like Mama's homemade dress Papa's bank book wasn't big enough And I was standin' on the side of the road Rain fallin' on my shoes Heading out for the east coast Lord knows I've paid some dues Gettin' through Tangled up in blue She was married when we first met Soon to be divorced I helped her out of a jam I guess But I used a little too much force We drove that car as far as we could Abandoned it out west Split up on a dark sad night Both agreeing it was best She turned around to look at me As I was walkin' away I heard her say over my shoulder We'll meet again some day On the avenue Tangled up in blue I had a job in the great north woods Working as a cook for a spell But I never did like it all that much And one day the axe just fell So I drifted down to New Orleans Where I was looking for to be employed Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat Right outside of Delacroix But all the while I was alone The past was close behind I seen a lot of women But she never escaped my mind And I just grew Tangled up in blue She was workin' in a topless place And I stopped in for a beer I just kept lookin' at the side of her face In the spotlight so clear And later on as the crowd thinned out I's just about to do the same She was standing there in back of my chair Said to me, Don't I know your name? i really respect when people do that i have some friends who also do that, i always thought it would be odd to do that, but i think it's actually pretty respectful to the original artist
Best cover of "Tangled Up In Blue" I have EVER heard. Stayed true to the original but made it her own. She nailed it.
Great job, nice voice, but Jerry Garcia made this tune his own!
@@stevenlawrence9930 Damn right. Nobody does it better than JGB

KT Tunstal you really know how to breathe new life in this song with all your Heart & Soul ❤ . . . Keep On Keeping on . . . Like a Bird That FlewTangle Up In Blue 👍
She nailed it! even Dylan had a grin on his face.
She’s making me feel vulnerable and giving me chills up and down with her growling vocals and prowess on this fantastic Dylan song. The band is awesome, too. She’s performing in NYC on May 18th - after seeing this video I must go see.

Great song for KT's voice....gritty. Quality audio.
K.T never fails to amaze, She is the best female singer around. She makes each song her own while staying true to the original artist...I think Bob would smile and nod...Keep up the great work KT, dont sell out like the rest of them.

Well done KT !
Fantastic !!! Thanks for posting :-)
Early one mornin' the sun was shinin'
I was layin' in bed
Wondrin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like
Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bank book wasn't big enough
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the east coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues
Gettin' through
Tangled up in blue
She was married when we first met
Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam I guess
But I used a little too much force
We drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out west
Split up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best
She turned around to look at me
As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder
We'll meet again some day
On the avenue
Tangled up in blue
I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the axe just fell
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I was looking for to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind
And I just grew
Tangled up in blue
She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer
I just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, Don't I know your name?
I muttered somethin' under my breath
She studied the lines on my face
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces
Of my shoe
Tangled up in blue
She lit a burner on the stove
And offered me a pipe
I thought you'd never say hello, she said
You look like the silent type
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century
And everyone of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul
From me to you
Tangled up in blue
I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on
Like a bird that flew
Tangled up in blue
So now I'm goin' back again
I got to get to her somehow
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now
Some are mathematicians
Some are carpenters' wives
Don't know how it all got started
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives
But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same
We just saw it from a different point
Of view
Tangled up in blue
You should put that to music,,, you just might have something there.
Thanks! Much better with the lyrics!!!
Killer cover ... Go KT!
i really respect when people do that
i have some friends who also do that, i always thought it would be odd to do that, but i think it's actually pretty respectful to the original artist
Why would anyone hate this song. Easily one of the 5 best songs ever written and recorded. This turned me on to KT.
Great version of a great song. Her raspy voice is just perfect for this. Grrrr...
KT...what more is to say? GREAT.
This gorgeous girl is f.....g awesome live.
Nothing compares to the original, but this is by far the best Tangled Up In Blue cover I've ever heard.
