Why is every song she sings even more beautiful when she sings it?
This is what artist does.. They sublimate things ! for sure she is one.
Her voice can go from gritty to beautiful. She's amazing.
Saw Joan sing this live twice. Those evenings were among the highlights of my life.
I'm dripping with envy :)
Wow, a real voice with edges and emotions
Quality arrangement - she consistently gets it done.
One of the BEST Female voices of all time!!
The first time I heard sister Joan I was incarcerated suddenly I felt free that was Heaven Sent bless you Sister and thanks
Hmm... were you in Shawshank?
Thank you so much for the good music. This is amazing!
"I mumbled something underneath my dress." ;-) THAT PLAYFUL SMILE... I LOVE YOU JOAN!!!
I THOUGHT that's what she said!
Joan you were my cradle music…. You have been a Brilliant teacher
what a great singer
Outflippinstanding!!! Love it. Thank you!!!
This lady is sublime, the total package.
Agree. I own the album, but come back to the vids -- "sublime" is the perfect word.
Very refined and classy! outstanding......
Beautiful!
congrats to these performers
Maravilhosa como sempre !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous cover !!
WONDERFUL COVER !!!!
Thanks
Beautiful
JOAN OSBORNE DID A DYLAN ALBUM?? //jets off to iTunes
Perfection
Nicely done
The pianist was excellent and had a real feel for this great song. Really added a lot to it.
No credit for that pianist?!?! Who is that? No credit for the guitarist?!?!? Who is that?
Is this the same Joan Osborne that got to NYC to edjamacate herself? Where'd that go?
Corporate capture in the extreme.
Yet like the Newton hymn "Amazing Grace" and Arlo's exegesis and homily, there is hope for all of us sinners if we'll open up and retrace our steps and atone for our mis-takes...Go girl! Guys gotta do it even more given his-story's earthly triumph over her-stories....

Tour of 1984 with Shenandoah. Arlo tells an inspiring story about John Newton and talks about his dear friend, Steve Goodman.

Just fell in love with her for the hundredth time............
Autotune is ashamed around Joan Osborne...
Hi,
Awesome song and awesome voice !
Will you be OK if I share a couple of minutes of this song within my next video ?
The best version beside Dylan's.
Try KT Tunstall version
@@gytheddr111 Oh, like it as well --
@@gytheddr111 KT and her band knock it out of the park!
Faking Loretta Lynn faking Kitty Wells
Sadly out of all the songs I have heard Joan sing this was my least favourite. It's not about the content, it just doesn't make me sit up and go "I want to hear that again". Sorry Joan I love your voice but not this time.
I couldn't finish it. I love Joan but she really missed on this one.
I disagree 100%
@@holliroll8789 your prerogative. Each to their own..
@@michaeldeane9029 Buckets of Rain and Tangled Up are the best on the album, imo.
But I'll take a Buckets from Dylan next
Good cover BUT..... She ducks out of hitting some of the more difficult higher notes. The RANGE of notes to hit is actually narrow, Dylan's range, yet she still doesn't make it.( Compare Bonnie Rait or Linda Ronstadt, who hit all the right notes in range). Her PHRASING is also limited snd inadequste. It's too linear and samey, flat. It needs more punch, expression, delivery. Dylan's original is hard to match. So this cover is SECOND-RATE.
Bob Dylan's song he should be singing it.
So . . . no covers ever?
Simples....don’t listen....and go away
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Dylan actually did record it once, many years ago. But I could be wrong.....🙄
It takes balls to do an entire album of Dylan covers, and Joan’s must be the size of basketballs. Not only does she do it, she nailed it. This lady is something special, fantastic voice, that’s always spot on. Joan doesn’t even know what autotune is, never needed it.
Agree, perhaps the best collection of Dylan covers. What I like particularly is her "deep cut" covers of songs not even Bob himself performed much.
"It takes balls to do an entire album of Dylan covers"...it really doesn't.
@@garfinn4555 I agree, so many great songs, why not?
I'm in a room alone and this makes me want to stand up, cheer and applaud.
What a divine voice!!
I always loved that song and they did a great job with it.
I learned last night that it's actually split up at dark sad night and not "at the docks that night" 1:20
I've thought the same thing for decades.
I never cried listening to this song, but hearing Joan’s version brought tears to my eyes.
She’s got a voice that sparkles every song she sings
What a great vocal interpretation. Beautiful.
2:58-the line is supposed to be "I mumbled something underneath my breath". I think she flubs it and sings "underneath my dress", then grins at the guitarist!
Under appreciated-under the radar-sweet cover of this classic IMHO.......can’t wait to see her at the Triple Door in Seattle this month...all Dylan covers. 😎
Who are the pianist and guitarist ? Thanks...
Yeah, they're good!
this is terrific because she stays joan --does not try to be bob
Beautiful, Ms. Osborne. Just great. Beautiful cover.
Wow her voice is great.
stunning
She reel good
So beautiful, hopeful for humanity. Sing, Joan.
great song, great cover
She slammed it!
Classic

I’ve always run Hot and Cold with Dylan. I love these cleaned up covers
Mono tone.
