Oura ring I meant 2 years not 10 years!!! Oops sorry!!! Also there people who have worn some of these models longer than me (as the garmin & Fitbit I only wore for a few weeks). So check out the comments to see some further receives on them! Ps the garmin has a find my iPhone feature to 😅 The garmin community is trying to convert me ITS GETTING HARDER TO RESIST
i wear an apple watch daily but as a runner in high school i wore a garmin and it definitely is the only thing that can really stand up to the apple watch
I wear both watches every day and my go to watch hands down is the AWU g1 or gen 2 it's more accurate than any other watch out there! I wear an AWU g1 with work outdoors and athlytic, boom you don't need anything else and I wear the Garmin Epix Pro gen2 and I like some things about it too. My polar h10 tells me its slow to change and pick up peaks and dips most of the time and my GPS on it's most accurate mode still has 1 line going down and back up the road where my Apple shows my exact path up down the road and on the correct side of the road on my 6 mile walks. My Garmin even after the patch or w/e still did not fix random restarts right in the middle of my exercises.
Not a grandma, but the only fitness tracker I've ever had is a Fitbit. I don't know about other Fitbits, but my inexpensive inspire 3 has a "find my phone" feature, like the apple watch. It also gives some breakdowns of sleep stages like light, deep, and REM (not sure how accurate though). I feel like Fitbit is for introverts who find constant access to emails and texts overwhelming, don't want to engage with family & friends about the rowing machine workout they did that morning, but want to see a record of the things they've done for their health for personal accountability and for trends in general health. I honestly have it because I hate spending money on myself and while other features may be cool, I know that all I really need to do for health is keep moving . . . Heck, I'd probably move more if I spent less time pouring over my different fitness and health stats on all the apps. 😂
Hey :) I have a fitbit charge and was about to also comment that my fitbit shows timing and duration of different sleep phases etc when I saw you already wrote this! I like mine as it was affordable and it has a smaller screen so it isn't as "chunky" on my wrist. I also use it to track food and it is indeed nice to have everything in one app. That being said, I mostly use it for my step tracking so I can't disagree with Keltie there hihi!
I really love my versa as well!!! I had the apple watch and I love that the fitbit is mainly for fitness. When I feel like I want more, the premium app does give more info. I am sad though that google is phasing out fitbits though because soon I won’t be able to use the pixel watch with my iphone. :-(
My Fitbit tracks REM, light, and deep sleep. Not sure why yours doesn’t? Might be worth correcting this in the video since it seems like one of the key reasons you don’t like the Fitbit. Also, totally disagree about “just get the cheapest Fitbit”. I’ve gradually upgraded my Fitbit over the years and d now have the one that looks similar to an Apple Watch with heart rate and all the features. This has made a BIG difference to me versus the basic one I began with.
I agree! Had fitbit since I was 15 and upgraded every few years and didnt have any issues with any of the ones i had. Would have kept it if I didn't get the galaxy 6 watch as a present
yes, i love my fitbit! i have the inspire 3 so its not even the fanciest but it tells me sleep duration, score, and a breakdown of Awake, REM, Light, and Deep sleep times and when throughout the night they occur. It also tells you your oxygen variation during sleep and your sleeping heart rate. It even made a sleep profile, I'm a dolphin (but you need to wear it I think at least a month for them to see your sleep trends). It also gives me a daily readiness score and it has so many other features like skin temperature, breathing rate, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, like i don't even know what that means 😂
My Garmin (Venu 3S) tracks sleep in the exact same way as Aura. I switched from Apple Watch to Garmin a couple of months ago and wish I’d done it sooner. It’s better looking, more accurate GPS, more comfortable to wear, easier to clean, dramatically better battery life, and has all of the same features as the apple watch.
The Apple vs garmin is like the Coke vs Pepsi debate 🤣 once you’re on one side there’s no changing your mind! Oooo I never saw that feature on it, going to look now thank you!
@@KeltieOConnortry holding down different buttons, you’ll find more features. I’ve been a Garmin girly for years now but still learning more and more about it 😂
@@KeltieOConnor hold down the top button until the wheel pops up- I moved mine to the top (you can customize this) but its called find my phone! It turns on the ringer as well as the flashlight (which is important because my hearing sucks lol)
I've had a WHOOP for 2 years now and I love it. I use the bicep band for the WHOOP because I am normally wearing an Apple watch or a regular watch on my wrist. The recovery features are great and I use my results everyday to determine the intensity/length of my daily workouts. Also once you learn the different things that impact your recovery score it can really incentivize you to make better choices in terms of food/drink.
My 5 year old garmin vivoactive is in perfect condition with about 3 days of battery when I track daily work outs, 1 week with no tracking. The longevity is why I am a garmin girl. I have had to upgrade my phone 2x since I got my garmin. So, $300 is expensive for a watch BUT it was outlive your $1000 phone I guarantee. I decided to upgrade from vivoactive to Forerunner simply bc I want access to courses, but not bc my watch actually needs it. Garmin is unbeatable 🥳
Keltie, you have been KILLING IT with your content recently!!!! Love all the long form content you do and it’s so obvious to see the planning and hard work you put into each video!!!!! KEEP IT COMING 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 PS: would LOVE to see a ranking of workout earphones/headphones from u!!!
Haha I was looking for smartwatch comparison videos the last half hour or so and came across this even though I'm already subscribed. Saw there were only 3 comments and was very confused, only to realize it was uploaded 4 minutes ago. Keltie I guess you read my mind about what I needed!
I'm confused about your review of Fitbit. I have the Versa 4 and the sleep tracker shows the levels of sleep and time spent in each. It also tracks exercise and fitness pretty much the same as my Garmin, which is at least as much data as the apple watch. And yes, I can receive calls or check text messages, as well. I think it's the model you have which doesn't give the brand a fair shake, as I've had a high end Garmin before switching back to Fitbit for ease of use and longer battery life.
Im a runner so a Garmin user, but my mom is a die hard fitbit gal. Other than GPS tracking, our watches pretty much do the same thing. So yeah I agree that this wasnt the best review of it
I love my Fitbit too! I'm on my second Inspire right now. Sleep tracking, recovery scores, fabulous battery life, texts and calls, all without being as bulky as a Garmin or Apple Watch.
@@heba9453I don’t have premium and my Fitbit gives me pretty much all of the information that I need. I think she just doesn’t have the model that track everything?
Fitbit does give you REM, Deep, etc. for some of their models. Also, Apple is by far the worst between all of them because the battery life is trash; it doesn't pass the bare minimum test.
I've had my whoop for around a year and I think it's amazing. It motivates me to exercise every day and I haven't had any fitness tracker before it, so I got a much better sense of how my body was performing, what was a lot and what was basically nothing. I actually picked it BECAUSE it didn't have a screen, sounds like the opposite to you! I get easily distracted and my phone is already plenty for that, plus I like wearing an actual watch and I would look ridiculous with a screen on each wrist.
Me too lol. Also they came with new silicone bands that you don’t have to wash every day 🫠. I love my whoop. I tried the Oura ring and I thought it was very uncomfortable and it gave me a rash 😭. What a boomer, I really wanted to like the Oura ring because it looks better that the whoop.
As someone with PCOS, and irregular perioda, Oura is the only thing I've found is even close to predicting my period. Worth the monthly subscription for that alone. I wish it would give suggestions though for how to improve recovery/sleep or inactivity. For a watch I love my garmin instinct solar. It stays charged for 25+ days and can charge as I do stuff outside in the sun. I have all notifications turned off. I don't need my watch and phone beeping at me😂 Fitbit is a good starting tracker if you are new to it IMO.
7:34 My Fitbit is EVERYTHING to me❤️ It tells me my daily form (should I focus on recovery, should I try not to overdo it, should I go hard or go home Lol), it tells me information about my sleep (how much rem-sleep, deep sleep, light sleep, and how much I’ve been awake during the night) and it also shows me how my pulse has changed during the night and how long the pulse was below my resting heart rate. But that’s not all! It shows me my breathing frequency, my heart rate variation, the temperature of my skin during the night, my SpO2, and my resting heart rate. You can also track your water intake and how many calories you’ve burned (even if one shouldn’t completely relay on those numbers) which is really satisfying. You also earn badges based on your step count which is a fun feature. Also, there’s a ton of different workouts you can choose from. With a couple clicks you decide if you want the Fitbit to know your working out, biking, interval training, aerobics, etc. Honestly, I’m so in love with my Fitbit Luxe!😍 It’s one of the best investment I’ve ever done on my fitness journey and I’m so proud to tell others how much it has helped me and inspired me. The battery life is also really good. I charge it every 5-6 days. There’s so much more amazing things I can say about it but I don’t want to bore you all Lol. Just trust me when I say that Fitbit blows the other ones out of the water. Might be biased here, but this is my personal opinion. Before I invested in my Fitbit Luxe I did a lot of research and comparing between the ones on the market. I considered the Apple Watches as well. But they felt overpriced and more like a “I’m rich and I know it” in relation to what you actually get. Sorry not sorry Lol. Anywayyyy… Fitbit Luxe ROCKS🥳🥳🥳
But... Garmin also can find your phone, you can read messages and look at received images on it, and answer phone on some models. Some of those features are android only though. Guess on first attempt which combo of a smartphone and watch I personally have 😂 mine are not that fancy as Venu 3, were like 299 at a time, love it and use for 2 years now and still don't need any upgrades.
@@KeltieOConnoryou can locate iPhone and read messages, control music playing, etc with most of the garmin watches now. But I’m torn… I switch back and forth with my garmin and Apple 🤔
I came to make the same comment - I used to be an apple person but as a runner, I gave it to peer pressure and switched to garmin. It has almost all the phone features and use the “find my phone” all the time.
Girl - I just switched from an Apple Watch to venu and it’s wayyyy better. I also can ping my phone from the venu, take calls, initiate Siri, etc. that’s what sold me for good.
Love the whoop for the recovery stuff, but the main driver for me getting a whoop over the others is that I can still wear it playing rugby or sparring. Can either put it in their sports bra or tape/ tegaderm it around the same spot and I won't hurt any body and don't even know it's there (though I have landed on it a few times now and that's a smidge unpleasant). I still get yelled at for overreaching all the time, but it has talked me into a few extra rest days and I've learned a magnesium supplement helps me soooo much more with sleep than melatonin or OTC sleep aids. It's annoying in the best way possible and the band sucks, but I really only use it when sleeping.
So for the Fitbit, because I’m a Google Girlie, I have the Pixel Watch 2. After using Garmin and Samsung, I would say it’s the perfect blend of a smartwatch and fitness tracker. I get my REM data, and even if I take a nap, it catches that sleep data. It connects to my fitness pal and smart scale. My mom uses Apple, and I would honestly say the Pixel Watch is the Google equivalent (if not better in my opinion).
You have to wear the fitbit to sleep for a longer period of time for it to break down your sleep stages because its learning your personal zones - if you look for them there are loads of studies on the fitness trackers and Fitbit usually comes out with high accuracy for sleep tracking for rem and deep sleep vs a professional EEG - Its gets +70% accuracy in the ones ive seen!
I am curious which Fitbit you used? I have the Sense (most comparable to Apple Watch IMO) and it tracks all sorts of things like Heart Rate, skin temperature, Oxygen levels, sleep cycles, GPS for workouts, etc. 🤔 I can also tap to pay and take calls from the watch just like you would with an Apple Watch (and I’m an iPhone user)
@@nynke2165 I am a cyclist not a runner but I use it to track my bike rides. It can show the GPS of your route as well as heart rate zones throughout so if that’s the info you’re looking for it would probably work for running too.
Seriously disappointed in how you represented the FITBIT. I have had a Charge 3 and 4. Both track detailed sleep data. Including deep, REM, light, oxygen variance etc. - all free. Way, way (okay one more time) WAY, more functionality than just that, none of which you reported.
Her review of the whoop is also totally unfair. I feel like she was trying to do so much, and it meant that she didn’t read all the info. The whoop is designed so you can charge it while wearing it, which means that she was doing it totally wrong, plus it auto detects workouts so you don’t need to start the workout on the phone.
Fitbit turned down my screen brightness when they brought out a new version of it. I could hardly see the screen even indoors. Others have confirmed online that it happened to them as well. Knowing that I will never get a FitBit again.
I'm sorry girl but the WHOOP literally doesn't have to be taken off of your wrist, the charger is so that you can slip it on top of the device while you're wearing it. I'll admit that I struggled figuring it out at first but that feature went over your head. I do personally take it off when I shower but I like that it doesn't have any downtime for charging. Though it is ugly, particularly when it has the charger on your wrist. I just wish it had a clock on the side or someting so I wouldn't have to also wear my Apple Watch Series 4. I am considering getting the armband or something to put it somewhere else because it's bad enough to always have an Apple Watch on my wrist let alone one on each arm like I have right now
I had a Fitbit before I just recently switched to a Garmin venu 3s and I love it. Better features, better battery, more accurate etc, etc. I essentially wanted a general fitness tracker with smart phone features. Super happy I made but the jump but I was a Fitbit user for YEARS and loved it. Yes it’s basic, some higher models are like the Garmin but not as accurate as I wanted. Love both but happy I switched
I have had my Nokia steel hr (now called withings steel hr) for 7 years!! I love it! Its design is simple, it is not a touch screen and instead has a little black and white screen that you can use to see stats for the day. It also has a little step tracking dial on the watch face to see your process on your step goal. My favourite part is that it's battery is supposed to last for 28 days!
The samsung galaxy watch ultra is just a much better apple watch ultra with 2 days of battery life, all the smart phone features, and gps and workout modes dont destroy the battery. Really happy I switched from my apple watch ultra.
I’ll add that to the lineup if I do a 2.0! I wanted to include it too only had so much $$$ so pick the top 5 most common people asked about. Would be fun to do a galaxy vs ultra vs Felix vs polar one day!
@@KeltieOConnor galaxy ultra, vs apple ultra, vs coros vertix 2s, vs Garmin Fenix 8 would be incredible. Coros in particular are incredible because of the insane battery life beating out all but the solar garmins, only downside to them is it's not a super AMOLED screen. Thanks for the great content!
@@mcm111able the galaxy ultra is actually just as accurate as it's competitors now. The other Samsung watches are very inaccurate though. I held off until they fixed the issues.
I love LMNT but please do not drink this daily if you aren’t doing high levels of physical activity. I will drink a packet with 24oz of water (i.e. LOTS of water) after an 8-10 mile run or 20+ mile bike ride or multi-hour hike. I.e. when I’m sweating a lot. If you aren’t doing around this level of activity you do not need 1000mg of sodium in your water. It’s fantastic for hydrating after high intensity workouts, but please consume mindfully.
I think she made it really clear about when to have them. I have one daily around my workout time. I also am not a big sweater it takes a lot for me to sweat (yes I do intense workouts) our bodies are amazing and will regulate sodium. I think a key point to using electrolytes is what your diet looks like also. Someone On a whole food diet v someone on a higher UPF diet.
Keltie!! I don't know what Fitbit you have, but I have a charge five and it tracks not only my sleep (REM, deep, restlessness) but it also tracks my workout readiness, and sleep health metrics such as breath rate, HRV, skin temp, SPO2, and resting heart rate. Sooo I love it!! oh and it also count my steps🤪
Re: Whoop - you can easily put it on and off by lifting the clip. You don’t need to pull it roughly over your hand. And when you’re charging the battery, ONLY charge the battery. Whoop is meant to live on your body, like the Oura ring. I have Oura, Apple and Whoop. I never wear my Oura ring to workout weightlifting because it’s too delicate and then this skews the daily data. Whoop is my favorite because I’m very much tracking my calories kinda girl and this tells you your daily burn rate as well as automatically picks up your workouts. - minus the step tracker, the only missing link. Apple is great, but also a great distraction if you’re a girlie that’s gone notification free like myself. ❤
One thing I like about fitbit is being able to look down and see my heart rate on the watch itself moment-to-moment. For me (I have POTS) that's a big help, to be like "oh whoops my heart rate is 150 right now no wonder I feel dizzy"!
I have the inspire 3. It was $99 I believe and they give you 3 months of the membership free. I used the Apple Watch before this and I did like that too, minus the terrible battery life. I’d like to try a Garmin or Aura one day.
I'm an Apple Watch to Whoop convert - to me the biggest difference is that the whoop takes heart rate measurements 100x per second, while the Apple Watch takes measurements on average like once every 5 minutes. That's why you have to start a workout on your Apple Watch to get proper data, but you don't have to specifically start anything on whoop! Of course the other main benefit is not having to take it off for over an hour a day to charge it (and then remember to put it back on every time)! And being able to take a ~breather~ from getting iPhone notifications all the time without losing health data is also a nice plus. :)
Keltie, you have such fantastic content! I was considering getting a Whoop (have or have had all other fitness trackers here), and now...I don't think I will, haha.
Was an avid fitbit user for years but they constantly stopped working after a year almost every time. Switched to the Samsung galaxy watches for the last few years and I love them. Seems like they are on par with the Apple watch as far as features but are extremely durable and holds a charge for a couple of days with a lot of heavy use.
As with anything, you have to be honest with yourself about what activities and needs you perform and buy accordingly. Don’t cheap out or over pay for something that does not work for you. I am a general fitness enthusiast and beginner runner. I had a Fitbit many years ago but it was so buggy in the first year and only tracked steps and I wanted more data. My next watch was a Garmin Vivoactiv 4S during lockdown and I love it. I did not want to pay for a subscription fee and the Garmin Connect is good. It is great for me because I care about reaching 150 minutes weekly minimum, measuring heart rate, heart rate zones, and running time and pace. If I become a hardcore runner, I may consider one of the higher end Garmin models that has more data points. Thank you 🙏 for the research, Keltie! I am glad you managed to changed the language on your Garmin from Spanish to English.
My husband and I ditched our Fitbits (his literally burned his wrist) for Garmin vivoactivs and are loving them! We both were beginner runners but have used the coaching apps to complete half marathons, and we love all the other features. The UI does leave a lot to be desired and it’s got a bit of a steep learning curve, but for runners who also generally like to track HRV, VO2 max, menstrual cycle (in my case), sleep, and SpO2 it’s great! Much better battery life, too! Edit: Also the find my phone feature has saved my ADHD a$$ so many times! 😂
I have tech anxiety. I can eventually figure things out, but my first reaction is to be overwhelmed and cry. That's stage 1. Stage 2 is becoming deeply engrossed in the task at hand and then becoming a total convert to that particular tech. I recently bought the Garmin forerunner 165, not an advanced option, but for me, very advanced. And I love it. I had an old Garmin for 7 years, no longer made, and I cannot believe the difference. It's renewed my determination to do a 5k close to what i used to do and I love the coaching option. I picked one coach, had to fire her, now I am with Jeff Galloway (if you are a runner from the 80's, you know), and I am so happy. I also love the trail running option because that is different from road running. Don't care at all about community. Nobody wants to see my sorry ass run times. But having fun. Found this whole video very interesting, confirmed that for me, I made the right choice.
One thing I've found about Garmin: you showed how durable they are, to expand on that, they have the best longevity! My son still uses my old one from 2017, it's just now getting so the battery needs charging almost everyday, but other than thata, still works just as well as the first day. I might replace the battery on it because he still uses it. Everyone I know that's had a Fitbit, they die after 1-2 years. So I tell people who are interested in a fitness tracker, start with a Fitbit, and if you're still into them when that dies, get a Garmin :)
I just have to compliment how organized and informative this video is. Thanks for being so thorough! It also was very validating that I'd chosen the right watch for me 😂
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS!! The filming and editing process was a marathon 😅 so was worried it wouldn’t come out straightforward for you all 🙏 so happy it did 🥹
I've had both free and premium. Premium's only benefit for me was the video workouts on days I felt too lazy to program my own. All the data I need on rest and recovery is available in the free version
FitBit is ticking me off. I've had one for years, so I'm struggling to give up all my data. I have a Versa 4, but I do not like it compared to the Versa 2. I pay for premium, which has a lot of features - sleep, menstrual, etc. I do NOT want to answer texts or calls on it. I wear it to bed and love that I'm not getting notifications on my wrist because I shut all that stuff off. However, it's not great at tracking exercise except walking. It barely recognizes anything else unless you tell it what you are doing, and even then, it isn't always accurate. The thing that annoys me most is that the screen goes to sleep when I'm trying to set an alarm or exercise unless I hold it completely flat. It is also NOT supposed to come on while sleeping, only when I tap it, and if I move around, it shines in my partner's face!! I kind of want to switch to Garmin, but I don't want to lose all that previous data, and I'm holding out hope FitBit will create something amazing. However, I find myself daily saying - I hate this thing. Not good.
@@SuzysCoolStuff I don’t like the 4 as much as the 2 either! I actually really hate the strap, it gave me a rash, which I’ve NEVER gotten a Fitbit rash except maybe like with one of the original ones.
I started out with the fitbit charge 3 when it first launched, and I had it until I got my apple watch series 5 in early 2020. I LOVED my apple watch, even though I didn't update to a series 6 or newer. I literally only got rid of it because I decided to switch from an Iphone to a Samsung Galaxy.. So I'm really glad you made this video because I've been without a watch since changing my phone months ago and it's driving me mad. Seems like Garmin might be my best option. Thank you!!! 🥰
I have had a fitbit for like 10 years, I used it for my 140 pound weight loss. But walking is my main form of exercise, and I wear it on an ankle because it doesn't track on my wrist when pushing a stroller
Garmin also has training plans and built in workouts. One of my favorite features is v02 max which is pretty accurate. Garmin girly if you couldn't tell 😅
Yeah❤ Thank you, Keltie 🎉🎉🎉 I have been waiting a lot for this video, you’re my reliable and relatable source of inspiration and info. Bless you 😊 You help a lot to organize mind and habits and prevent me from impulsive consumption ㅇㅇ
Whoop wasn’t consistent for me til I was nearly a month in. Whoop helped so much with my sleep analysis and the way it also gets to know you so well that it can predict if it thinks you’re about to get sick or are currently sick. Yeah ok they glitch A TON but lowkey I loved it. I hated how it didn’t have a screen tho. I have the Apple Watch series 10 now and I love love LOVE it. The rings app kinda annoys me ngl but it’s actually so nice. The workout options are great. Battery life kinda sucks tbh but I don’t mind it much.
So true! The more I used the whoop the more I actually did enjoy its Such a love hate with the rings too, I wonder if Apple will ever change it up to something else 🤔
I loved my Fitbit versa lite when I had one! It did everything I needed. I switched to the Apple Watch for a couple years but now I’m using the COROS since I started focusing more on running the last year.
I have never had a problem with garmin. I have owned multiple versions, and they are more accurate than apple in your heart rate data. I have compared this with dozens of clients and their apple watch feedback. Garmin wins, IMO, for fitness and health! Great video🎉 In regards to tracking your strength training workouts with your garmin, when you select strength training, and you select set 1 for example you can just double tap your screen on most models and edit each set once you've compleyed and even enter the weight used... once you have done it a few times, it is very easy and second nature, just like learning any smartphone. 💪 But I am biased!
I use a Garmin FR965 for tracking running, cycling, swimming, etc, but an Apple Watch S9 for everything else. The most important thing for me when exercising is that I need physical buttons because the touch screen does not work when it is wet or my hands are sweaty. So the Garmin works great for that, and the display is fantastic so I can see the details on it at a glance. The Apple Watch integrates so well with my iPhone that it is great for general health tracking and any lifestyle stuff.
I use the Oura garmin combo to train for XC and Track. I pretty much completely ignore what garmin tells me about sleep, and completely ignore what Oura says about activity. I also have the 8 sleep, 100% recommend
You made this right as I bought my hat in and wasn’t sure if I was going to keep it! I like my Apple Watch but the features are pretty nice. Its just the Apple aesthetic for me
I've had my Whoop since 2019 and I've never had any issues, I'm a big fan of it :) Whenever I play Stardew Valley or The Sims 4 it thinks I'm taking a nap lol You can also get different kinds of bands so you don't get that feeling! :)
The main reason I've decided to get a Garmin is the inbuilt suggested workouts (although those come only with the little pricier versions (still not too pricey though)). This has really upped my running game. It essentially combines all your data and creates everyday a specific running workout depending on your recovery/sleep/future race days etc. Since then I had no injuries and really improved my pb.
I’m late to this party lol, but love hearing the breakdown for each of these. I only have experience with Fitbit and Garmin. Fitbit was great back in the day when I first started out, and I had a couple different models, but my husband got a Garmin a couple years back and I made the switch once my last Fitbit completely died lol. I did love how user friendly/smart watch-like it was, so with the Garmin there is definitely a learning curve, but I love it now! I couldn’t justify the Apple Watch bc my main use is for fitness tracking. Love the smart watch features, but too afraid I’ll trash it at the gym 😂
Omg the comment on the Running (I'll add Triathlon) culties made me laugh out loud! Guilty as charged! 😂 You changed my mind though, you're a much much better runner than I am. I always say that I need all the help I can get and my Garmin def helped me. Great video! Thank you!
Whoop does count (try to count) steps now. Also, you're meant to charge the battery pack and then just wear it while it's charging. Also, if you pull on the tab it's super easy to take it on and off :).
How in the hell did I not notice you coming to Kelowna!!! I missed you, this is my hometown! I hope you had a fab time here, lots of outdoor activities to do 😊
The best entry fitness tracker in my opinion is actually Xiaomi MiBand. It's ridiculously cheap, really light and durable, tracks a bunch of different exercises and cam be synced with your phone for notifications (or not, it's up to you). If it's not showing notifications, it will last you easily a week to 10 days of battery. I'd also love to hear your opinion on Samsung Watch, missed this one on your video. 😊
Girl, Apple Watch Ultra!!! I have been an Apple girlie for years. I’ve thought about switching to Garmin for long distance running. But the Ultra was a great option. I don’t know if I can leave the Apple Watch.
Wait what? I have a Fitbit versa 4 and there’s so much more! Spo2, recovery score, different kinds of workouts, I can take calls and find my phone, etc. and you can choose your focus so depending on how you set up your Home Screen and the clock face you choose you won’t see your steps at all. There’s in-app workouts, mindfulness exercises, you can get an alert when something changes with your heart health (irregularity, sudden increased heart beat), active zone minutes, elevation (both during hikes and the amount of stairs you’ve taken that day, communities with friends, groups and a feed, badges - you name it! And that’s coming from an apple girly lol.
Was really hoping there was a xiaomi smart watch comparison in this video. They launched mi band 9 in august and it's the cheapest out there and you can wear it in multiple ways. Pls do a review in the future ! xx
I would also say one of the advantages that I don't think you touched on was that Garmin does coaching/workout recommendations. These are super helpful if your newer to running or trying out a new distance as a way to give you guidance on workouts. I'm former apple watch person and would say most of their smart phone features aren't very usable/useful for things(i.e. attempting to text with the apple watch is a nightmare) as well. Though their screen resolution and number of functions is obviously higher than the Garmin which is also the reason the watch has terrible battery life because you can't have both with current technology.
as a fitbit girly i definitely agree to all you said 😅😭 bought it years ago because i just wanted to test out if i would like having a fitness tracker/watch. i’ve got bored of it and right now i am debating getting either an apple watch or a garmin 🙃
We all start as Fitbit girlys haha 🫶 hope this video helps you choose between apple or garmin! Luckily both are great so honestly you cant lose whichever you pick ☺️
Way too much hate on Whoop in this. It’s meant to be charged on your wrist not on the wall. You didn’t mention the daily journal and that it tracks your menstrual cycle (for free) AND pregnancy cycle if applicable. It connects to strava which gives you the mile splits for running. And it’s been tested as the best tracker for HRV against all of these other devices. You can choose the amount of sleep you want to get or a percentage- it’s completely customizable actually. Plus you don’t need to be distracted by another wrist screen. Oh and they’re implementing steps soon since so many people apparently want that
The Fitbit Charge 5 does everything the 1 before it in your video does (the woop?). It tracks sleep stages, REN, deep, nighttime body temp & HRV, oxygen saturation, readiness for exercise, you can log exercise or it detects certain types of cardio, etc. Maybe you bought an older model that doesn't have all the features. It was around $125 a yr ago, iirc.
I had a Fitbit Sense 2 and developed an allergic reaction to the metal plates after wearing it for 6 months, it got so bad I had to use an allergy cream with cortisone to get rid of it. So beware if you are sensitive to metals ...
became an Oura girlie with corporate discount, purely influenced by Keltie. could not be happier, i absolutely love the gamification of everything. you would soon find yourself *wanting* to do healthy stuff, so that your good numbers go up and bad numbers go down.
for me its defo garmin! the fenix series is worth every penny! battery life, acuracy while running, wallet, spotify, find my phone feature, community aspect and i can call and text!
Yeah exactly! Garmin even has a colour gauge that tells you if you are getting closer or further from the phone if you can’t hear it (which is great when I leave my phone in the car)
I want to see Keltie test weighted blankets to see if they're bs or not. It's the easiest test, you just gotta sleep! 😉 But on topic, I'm very happy with my Samsung Galaxy Watch. I bought one just as it was being replaced with a newer model so I got a solid discount and it's served me well for a few years now. Like the Apple Watch the battery life isn't amazing, but turning off all the nonsense stuff running in the background that you don't actually use/need and it can work just fine.
I just got a Pixel watch 3 and the Pixel 9 pro XL after being an apple girlie since 2009. The features on both are amazing. I don't do Fitbit premium its not necessary to use it for the Pixel watch. But if you do it has ai custom workouts for you. I still rely on my oura ring for sleep but both the pixel and the ring track basal temp and stress. Steps on the pixel watch are super accurate!
I sold my Apple Watch Ultra and re gained all the weight i had lost tracking with it in a matter of three months. Needless to say, I picked up an Ultra 2 Black a week ago. Back to the grind baby!
Keltie I feel like you could've given fitbit a more fair chance. My fitbit tracks a lot more in my sleep cycle than what you have shown (although not as much as oura). Its so durable, it has the find my phone feature that is iphones main "selling point". The sense also measures skin temp ad a lot of other things not mentioned. I have noticed the heart rate monitor in workouts can be a little off when you sweat a lot (which duh, is going to happen when youre working out), so i would probably agree on complete accuracy of workout stats, however, its typically fairly accurate for me on distance, intensity levels hit, etc. I also havent had other watches to compare it to so i could see turning it down for serious athletes. I think its a great starter tracker for someone who is just trying to get into it and isnt diehard training. It kind of feels like you wrote her off before you tried her a little.
Oura ring I meant 2 years not 10 years!!! Oops sorry!!! Also there people who have worn some of these models longer than me (as the garmin & Fitbit I only wore for a few weeks). So check out the comments to see some further receives on them!
Ps the garmin has a find my iPhone feature to 😅 The garmin community is trying to convert me ITS GETTING HARDER TO RESIST
the best watch to track your training is POLAR ex Polar Ignite or any product from POLAR
The Fitbit also has that lost phone thing too
@@Anue_Krlove my Vantage M2 - Polar has been on the market since 1977 and I really like their products :)
Enjoy yours 😊
i wear an apple watch daily but as a runner in high school i wore a garmin and it definitely is the only thing that can really stand up to the apple watch
Thank you for this! I’m going to tell all my introvert friends now about this 🫶🩵 your reviews going to help more people decide appreciate it!
Fitbit also has a readiness score that incorporates HRV like swoop. But it's in Fitbit premium (not just the regular) I think.
I agree and it’s the most budget-friendly introductory tracker. I also love that it integrates well with other fitness related apps.
I agree with this 100%
My Fitbit had sleep functions as a paid service. So if you use it for free, you will be missing out on some measurements.
yes I was wondering about that too.
Long term Garmin girl so definitely biased, but I wanted to flag that Garmin does have a find your phone feature which is fantastic.

Fitbit has a find your phone as well! At least my versa 4 does
I've had a WHOOP for 2 years now and I love it.
A friend recently gave me a BKWAT smart watch, which surprised me greatly. It is very good in appearance, material and measurement accuracy.
I ran and cycled for like 5 years without using strava and part of me kinda misses how simple it was. Just a timex and vibes lol
I think we all need more time just going off vibes
What is strava
@@larafroeschl7083 kind of the equivalent of Instagram, I'd say, but for "athletes" 😊
Keltie, you have been KILLING IT with your content recently!!!! Love all the long form content you do and it’s so obvious to see the planning and hard work you put into each video!!!!! KEEP IT COMING 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
PS: would LOVE to see a ranking of workout earphones/headphones from u!!!
Haha I was looking for smartwatch comparison videos the last half hour or so and came across this even though I'm already subscribed. Saw there were only 3 comments and was very confused, only to realize it was uploaded 4 minutes ago. Keltie I guess you read my mind about what I needed!
Heather I think you may be the main character and we’re all living in your universe hahah!
So yeah I agree that this wasnt the best review of it
She didn't use premium I think
I love my Fitbit too! I'm on my second Inspire right now. Sleep tracking, recovery scores, fabulous battery life, texts and calls, all without being as bulky as a Garmin or Apple Watch.
I switched from Fitbit to Garmin for more insights from my training. But fitbits are good for non runners, or people who run very casually
I feel the exact same way. The reason I love the whoop is because it doesn't have a screen
I don't need my watch and phone beeping at me😂
Fitbit is a good starting tracker if you are new to it IMO.
My Fitbit died in less than one year
I bought a silicone cover for my Oura ring so I can wear it weightlifting.
I NEED THIS
Oooo maybe that’s why I missed some of those features!
My fit but can find my phone
Girl - I just switched from an Apple Watch to venu and it’s wayyyy better. I also can ping my phone from the venu, take calls, initiate Siri, etc. that’s what sold me for good.
If you do a part2 I hope you include COROS 💜💜it’s amazing with a great price tag
And a suggestion from Europe: Polar! I love my Polar Vantage M2 ❤
🤔 I can also tap to pay and take calls from the watch just like you would with an Apple Watch (and I’m an iPhone user)
is it also good for runners?
@@nynke2165 I am a cyclist not a runner but I use it to track my bike rides. It can show the GPS of your route as well as heart rate zones throughout so if that’s the info you’re looking for it would probably work for running too.
i love my apple watch so much! i love the ecg feature because i can tell my anxiety i’m not having a heart attack
I stand by whoop!!!!! I love mine, really the best tracker for high performance and recovery out there!! You just have to get the hang of it!
Yesssss this was the exact video I was wishing for. THANK YOU KELTIE!!
I got you !!
I am considering getting the armband or something to put it somewhere else because it's bad enough to always have an Apple Watch on my wrist let alone one on each arm like I have right now
if you track it twice, you ran it twice
My new life motto
😮
I use the data from my Apple Watch in conversations at medical appointments almost every time I’m there. It’s so helpful!
I have to say Garmin also finds your phone! I lose mine all the time 😂
How much I lose things explains how I was lost to this feature hahhaha
I considered Samsung until i saw how inaccurate these are.
😂I drink 2 LMNT packets most days
I think she made it really clear about when to have them. I have one daily around my workout time. I also am not a big sweater it takes a lot for me to sweat (yes I do intense workouts) our bodies are amazing and will regulate sodium. I think a key point to using electrolytes is what your diet looks like also. Someone On a whole food diet v someone on a higher UPF diet.
unless you have a medical condition like POTS
Or maybe summertime when you're more dehydrated?

This video could not have come at a better time. I've been looking into purchasing a new fitness tracker. You are the best. Thank you Keltie!!
One thing I like about fitbit is being able to look down and see my heart rate on the watch itself moment-to-moment. For me (I have POTS) that's a big help, to be like "oh whoops my heart rate is 150 right now no wonder I feel dizzy"!
8:00 it gives much more data after 14 consecutive days of wearing it. I now see deep, REM, light, and awake
I have the inspire 3. It was $99 I believe and they give you 3 months of the membership free. I used the Apple Watch before this and I did like that too, minus the terrible battery life. I’d like to try a Garmin or Aura one day.
Ooo good to know! I stopped wearing it to bed after about 10 days because I found it useless 🙈 dang it Fitbit!! Hahhaha
@@KeltieOConnor haha well you did an amazingly thorough job with the video. It’s a lot to analyze. Thanks for your awesome content!
I’ve been wearing a Whoop for 2.5 years and have not had that experience with glitching. I’m very addicted to it lol. Also love your content 😊
Ok good to know thank you! Mine was a stubborn guy hahha
Happy to help! If you’ve had others I feel you’ll know what to expect from the whoop, they’re all so similar just different fonts lol
I considered a whoop last year but the monthly subscription cost was crazy (only option at the time). Ended up with an Oura ring and love it.
I've had my whoop for over 5 years, and i've never had any of the issues kelsey mentioned.
The filming and editing process was a marathon 😅 so was worried it wouldn’t come out straightforward for you all 🙏 so happy it did 🥹
fitbit tracks sleep cycles.. maybe you're in some free mode where it doesn't show everything.
Came to say the same thing my Fitbit tracks sleep cycles
This. Fitbit free version doesn't have nearly as much as the premium.
The free version should though, I haven't paid a cent for premium and I've always been able to see sleep cycles
I have the free version and I can see a lot of details about my sleep cycles
I've had both free and premium. Premium's only benefit for me was the video workouts on days I felt too lazy to program my own. All the data I need on rest and recovery is available in the free version
I have had a Fitbit for so many years that I just can’t give it up! But I also got a Whoop free at a Spartan last year so now I have both 😂
Oooo that’s a great a combo having those 2!! Fills in all the gaps Fitbit has and gives you the steps whoop is missing

@@JessKaplan Yes! Me too! I had to buy a new strap on Amazon.
Keltie! Your skin! Your hair! You are GLOWING in this video!!!
Also good to know my Apple Watch is good enough for all tracking. Thank you!
I'm also poor so it works haha
Congratulations on the weightloss!
I love my Coros. You should give it a try. The fact that all the marathon and Ultra pros I follow wear Coros is what made me give them a try.
Garmin also has training plans and built in workouts. One of my favorite features is v02 max which is pretty accurate. Garmin girly if you couldn't tell 😅
All of these reasons why I want a garmin! Which model do you recommend most?
Yeah❤ Thank you, Keltie 🎉🎉🎉 I have been waiting a lot for this video, you’re my reliable and relatable source of inspiration and info. Bless you 😊 You help a lot to organize mind and habits and prevent me from impulsive consumption ㅇㅇ
Love your channel…deep dive with humor ….super informative and hands on results….fabulous!!!💪
So true! The more I used the whoop the more I actually did enjoy its
Such a love hate with the rings too, I wonder if Apple will ever change it up to something else 🤔
The fitness watch video we all needed!!! Def gonna go with garmin cause I'm super clumsy and I like running
I 100% approve! You’ll be so happy with a garmin 🫶As I have smashed 2 Apple Watches 😅
Its just the Apple aesthetic for me
I've had my Whoop since 2019 and I've never had any issues, I'm a big fan of it :) Whenever I play Stardew Valley or The Sims 4 it thinks I'm taking a nap lol
You can also get different kinds of bands so you don't get that feeling!
Which version do u have!
The whole I can’t recover thing without a device to tell me how I’m doing is dangerous. Listen to yourself first and use a device to compliment that.
Thank you!
It just said the upload was 14 seconds ago, dang I'm early 😄
WOOHOOO!!!!! Cariama is speedy this morning
Whoop does count (try to count) steps now. Also, you're meant to charge the battery pack and then just wear it while it's charging. Also, if you pull on the tab it's super easy to take it on and off :).
For Whoop you charge the separate battery, not the strap. The separate battery is used to recharge the strap.
How in the hell did I not notice you coming to Kelowna!!! I missed you, this is my hometown! I hope you had a fab time here, lots of outdoor activities to do 😊
It always puts a smile on my face, so see your weekly vlog while I am having brunch , 🍽lol. Just wanted to give you that verbal hug.❤✌️
I love my Garmin Forerunner 265s. I used it to train for a half marathon and I'm using it to train for a marathon. The challenges are really fun.
Just got a Garmin venu3s for running but have had an Apple Watch for 4 years! Absolutely love the ping feature
Hope you enjoy it! It’s such a great watch!!
Fitbit premium has everything you would need. Sleep, hrv, food, meditation etc.
I had a Fitbit Sense 2 and developed an allergic reaction to the metal plates after wearing it for 6 months, it got so bad I had to use an allergy cream with cortisone to get rid of it. So beware if you are sensitive to metals ...
I FORGOT ABOUT THIS!! Thank you for the reminder, it was 8 years ago I used a Fitbit and I got an awful rash from it too
became an Oura girlie with corporate discount, purely influenced by Keltie. could not be happier, i absolutely love the gamification of everything. you would soon find yourself *wanting* to do healthy stuff, so that your good numbers go up and bad numbers go down.
for me its defo garmin! the fenix series is worth every penny! battery life, acuracy while running, wallet, spotify, find my phone feature, community aspect and i can call and text!
Looooving the content lately 💛
16:37 my Fitbit does that and Garmin does it too
Yeah exactly! Garmin even has a colour gauge that tells you if you are getting closer or further from the phone if you can’t hear it (which is great when I leave my phone in the car)
This video is AMAZING, thank you!!!!!
I want to see Keltie test weighted blankets to see if they're bs or not. It's the easiest test, you just gotta sleep! 😉
But on topic, I'm very happy with my Samsung Galaxy Watch. I bought one just as it was being replaced with a newer model so I got a solid discount and it's served me well for a few years now. Like the Apple Watch the battery life isn't amazing, but turning off all the nonsense stuff running in the background that you don't actually use/need and it can work just fine.
Loved that vídeo.
If you do a part 2 can you do mi fit watches?
I just got a Pixel watch 3 and the Pixel 9 pro XL after being an apple girlie since 2009. The features on both are amazing. I don't do Fitbit premium its not necessary to use it for the Pixel watch. But if you do it has ai custom workouts for you. I still rely on my oura ring for sleep but both the pixel and the ring track basal temp and stress. Steps on the pixel watch are super accurate!
I was looking forward to you comparing the Coros pace watch 🤷🏽♀️
I sold my Apple Watch Ultra and re gained all the weight i had lost tracking with it in a matter of three months. Needless to say, I picked up an Ultra 2 Black a week ago. Back to the grind baby!
I love my withings scanwatch, heartrate, steps, workouts, sleep and some smartphone features with over a month battery life.
Also fyi- I do not, nor have I ever, used premium so these are base items I'm referring to. I love you and your videos though!
