A beautiful message for me on this Sabbath Day. My family has been through some hard times recently. Hearing this touching hymn, inspires me to keep going and not be weary in doing so. Thank you for this.
I was a little girl living back home in New Zealand when my Dad's sister taught my siblings and I this song in Samoan. Can you imagine the excitement of my heart when I heard the choir sing this song during General Conference?? 38 year later, I still remembered the song and joyfully sang along with the choir., This year and always, it will my remembrance of my Dad who passed away in April 2013. I can still hear his sweet voice reminding me, daily, to "never weary on life's trials."
Moana Gasu I love ❤️ it too, and pray that I will rest, but weary not in doing the work of the Lord...which is saving myself, and trying to help others to do the same!!
I am the only Mormon in my town, it gets lonely but a missionary friend of mine sent this hymn to me to encourage me, God bless you Elder Jensen, it worked. Dennis
+dennis barnes , I am LDS too, I can understand that it can get lonely during the week. That is why we should look forward to sacraments meeting and the other meetings on Sunday. Where are your home teachers or other organisations to strengthen you? Do you go to activities of the organisations during the Sundays, do you have a calling? One way to forget it is lonely during the week is to look for possibilities to serve others in your area. By doing that, you will for sure forget your own loneliness. Do not think I take your loneliness lightly, but helping others working with your calling, and participating in church activities can and will help.
Hi Job; Thank you for your kind remarks. I am new to the church and have a calling as Branch Mission Leader. I just received the priesthood and went through the temple with the missionary who baptized me in Cardston, Alberta. I have been doing well at getting to functions though I live 40 klms from the church. No home teachers ever come but I maintain a good friendship with the members of the branch. I do all I can to reach out to those around me and serve as many as I can . I will do everything possible to remain faithful to him who has called me. Again thank you for the encouragement. --- Dennis
General Conference was indeed awesome, there was so much to glean from. Thanks for sharing about your conversion and callings ... maybe I too can keep on keeping on. Thanks Dennis
My dad, Allen R. Hardy, was born (1917) in Cardston. His father, Leonard Wilford Hardy, had a general store there. The family relocated to Salt Lake in the late '20's. Decades later (1953) we vacationed in Canada, went to Cardston, and upon getting out of the car, a guy came up to dad, extended his hand and said "You've got to be one of Leo Hardy's boys." (!!!!) Amazing.
I heard this for the first time at President Monson's funeral service. I have had it going through my mind until I took action to discover the title and words--which are so very comforting--and a perfect ending to the funeral service where our dear prophet was extolled for a virtuous life of service. God bless the Tabernacle Choir for uplifting me for a half century now.
Weary not….simple. We can keep going….pray for a miracle if you need one. Do not let anything get you down, and while you stay on target…lift others along the way. No matter what, rest if you must, but keep going.
one of my favourite hymns. always comforts me when things are not going well in my life.and with a message and voices like that, who wouldnt be lifted up spiritually. i love our choir.
I needed to hear this today. How is it that I can always find the words God would have me hear if I listen to you sing? Because you sing with the Spirit attending you. Thank you for your faithfulness and dedication.
My husband and are blessed to serve as Church Service Missionaries at the Conference Center. The auditorium, the largest of its kind in the world, is an amazing hall.
Trying to fight back tears as this song brings memories of the loss of my favourite aunty. Hadn't spoken to her in a while before her passing and that always haunts me. I miss her so much!
In our Tongan hymn book page 308. I can just hear by angelic mother Luisa who is not stranger to trials find comfort and teaching us young children the message of this wonderful hymn. Often time we find ourselves singing our own harmony and it was a delight to be able to make this a family song. This arrangement by Mack Wilberg is so superb it touches our hearts and caused us to endure well to the end.
It was during a trial that i have heard this hynm it made me cry comforted and was assured that Jesus wont forsake us we need this hymn for us to move forward as we encountering tremendous trials in this life may the Lord help us t indure to the end........
This song will always be special as not only did we learn this song in Samoan but it was sung beautifully at our dear friend's husband's funeral Robbie Seumalii by his sibling & the Brown family! Such a beautiful song as I never heard it in English til MOTAB sang it at General Conference!
Somehow I’ve missed hearing this song until President Monsons funeral service. It touched me very deeply because of the harsh trials I’ve had in my life but I receive comfort just hearing this song. We might have to sing it in my ward. Judy
If the way be full of trial, weary not; If it's one of sore denial, weary not; If it now be one of weeping, There will come a joyous greeting, When the harvest we are reaping, weary not. Chorus: Do not weary by the way, Whatever be thy lot. There awaits a brighter day To all, to all who weary not. If the way be one of sorrow, weary not; Happiness will be the morrow, weary not; Here we suffer tribulation, Here we must endure temptation, But there'll come a great salvation, weary not. Chorus: If misfortune overtakes us, weary not; Jesus never will forsake us, weary not; He will leave us never, never... From His love there's naught can sever, Glory to the Lamb forever, weary not. Chorus:
my first time hearing this song is when i have already taught of stop keeping certain commandment because i was tired of striving to do the right things and still being face with soo much challenges, it did gave me the hope to wait, since then not a single day passes without singing this hymn. it is my favorite now
+Pay Afriq Elder Boyd K. Packer once said: Life was never meant to be easy. It makes sense, though, how can we grow if there are no opposition in our lives? We need to know that God will never forsake us, in our days of gladness but also in our days of trials and tribulations. Go forward in faith and hope.
It is the first time that I hear this song with The Choir. The song is just touching. The conductor have a special gift to maintain choral and orchestra under a very precise harmony . Thanks for posting this video.
At 2:42 to 2:47 is the girl with long black hair at the center of the screen the same person singing "The Builders of The Nation" from 2:06 to 2:12 the second singer on the third row top to bottom at the right corn of the screen? I am talking the Builders Of The Nation published on 10/07/2013. Thanks.
I know that my question was a little confusing but thanks so much for replying. You was the only one to give me the answer. My question was just curiosity about haircut. For her I like both of them but prefer long hair style. I know some women say that long hair is too much work. She has a beautiful smile and sing with such confidence. What voice does she sing?
My first time hearing this, so encouraging, beautiful starting my second year in the Church just what I needed to hear this night
