Thank you. I have spent so many years looking for an answer about the death of my son. He died in my arms, as soon as he was born. Nobody gave me an answer because they said it was a fetus.13 years have passed and I have a girl. This choir answered my soul and the conviction that he is alive with God.We cried so much with my wife when listening to them. Thanks again. Regards
I´m evangelic two weeks ago i listened to christian music on my account and i heard this , i was busy put stopped what i was doing , and now i listen every day Mormon Tabernacle Choir and watch the service , peace i did not know came over me it calms me down in these stressed times ,thank you so very much .
What an amazing song. I am so grateful that our Lord guided me to listen to this song tonight. I am not grieving the loss of a child, but I am grieving the loss of my husband, so it touched my heart and helped me bear the pain of my loss. Thank you so, so much for sharing this lovely, heart-melting lullaby.
I can only listen to this song when I need to cry. My 19 year old nephew died and I was very close to him. He was probably the closest thing I will have to a son in this lifetime. But this song goes deeper...sometimes I feel like it's Heavenly Father's lullaby to me. Especially when I'm hurting. Thank you Tabernacle Choir and Ryan for performing this piece of music with the sacredness and tenderness it deserves.
I don't know how they are not all weeping through that final verse. Singing a final lullaby to my child is the most heart-breaking thing I can imagine. I can't listen to it without sobbing like a baby, and I'm a 250 lb. grown man.
WOW what a great song, had to listen repeatedly so peaceful and beautiful, I believe you can feel Heavenly Fathers love, the comforter putting arms around you and giving you a hug 🤗 thank you for this song!!!!!
It makes no difference which race or religion we belong to. Music is the universal language of the soul & can appeal to anyone who appreciates uplifting music. Mormon Tabernacle has perfected this art. I have listened & loved this inspiring choir from a child & am now 84 & am even more moved now. Thank you, MT for consistently producing memorable music!
I walked into a choir rehearsal on Temple Square with my family at the end of a very challenging day, and this song was being sung. It was the most beautiful music I had ever heard in my entire life. It filled my soul with such unbelievable peace and love, I cannot begin to describe. My daughter and I burst into tears. Our family was truly blessed with divine help that night. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for this.
This song was performed at my little cousin’s funeral by a handful of members from the Mormon tabernacle choir, and I believe Ryan even played the piano for it. It was so beautiful I was overwhelmed and couldn’t stop the tears. It’s such a beautiful and emotional tribute to children who pass away. Thank you for such a beautiful and meaningful piece of music.
This beautiful song brings tears to my eyes. It is what I would sing to a beautiful baby if I had a precious child in my life. Music transforms hearts and lives! God bless the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!
This song is so beautiful it penetrates the heart with a peaceful calm. I play this every morning as I read my scriptures, this song not only calms humans , but as soon as I start playing it my 2 year old Great Dane will lay down next too me and is quiet and peaceful while I read. The spirit of this song brings peace to all creatures, and the words bring peace to our souls. Simply Beautiful😊🙏
How very beautiful and how inspiring. It sounds like the heavens open and Angels singing. As I listen I am enveloped in peace and my heart is dripping with the most profound gratitude for my Saviour Jesus Christ and those who are willing to use their talents to help bring purity to this stained world. God bless you all.
This is one of the most majestic and angelic songs performed by the Tabernacle Choir I’ve ever heard. It truly is heavenly. So sad some feel to give it a negative review. Unless you’re simply put off by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and cant see any good in them, or you simply have no light within your soul, you can hardly listen to this amazing piece without the tears rolling down your cheeks. Open your heart and let the Holy Spirit touch you deep down inside. It truly is a spiritual experience to listen, with no distractions, focusing on the words and melody, with your eyes closed. Enjoy.
Appreciate the Tabernacle choir, I listen to it anyday of the week, home or in my car, helps me to be in tune with the spirit, and my days goes smoothly, so I'm so greatful.
I'm not sure how I knew this was a memorial song from the start. It captured my heart and I listened as I read the lyrics. I cry and yet bless God as I dedicate this song to myself. How I (I think) would have loved it as I buried my 38 year old son. Glory to God.
This Tabernacle Choir sings beautiful hymns. They're easy on my ears as my ears get to sensitive at times. This is great music to listen to when you feel down & choose to relax. This music can be great as background music while you do your housework as it is relaxing & peaceful.
My mother sings in the choir and tells me that this song was written to honor the children lost at Newtown in that awful tragedy. Ryan Murphy is incredibly gifted and writes music to touch the human soul and I think this is one of his best!
Now that my eyes have stopped tearing up for a moment, what a powerful and incredibly beautiful song- especially for a Mother's Day service. I am forever grateful to the MTC for having restored my faith with their musical compositions performed that have retained those traditions I was led to believe were merely a thing of the past. FINALLY, I have found the serenity of a choir that honors God, and "spoken words" where I truly feel "home"! God bless you all.
I’m a Christian and I love this song. I hope this choir will continue to do more songs (like this) that appeal to not just mormons but to Christians, Catholics, Lutherans, Protestants, etc.
The music they sing is not just for us members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the music they sing is all for God's children here on earth 😊
Hello Daniel! I love your comment that shows people of all faiths and nationalities can be blessed by this beautiful music. Hopefully one day the Mormon church will exist in your country, in the meantime we can all share God's love through music :) Greetings and love from the USA!
Hi, Daniel. You can let this music and the truths of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints abide in your heart. I'll teach you if you want to reach out: burtonart1@gmail.com
This beautiful and touching setting of Eugene Field's words by Ryan Murphy is made more poignant when you realize that Ryan wrote this as a memorial and tribute to those who senselessly lost their lives in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
Reed Wagstaff did not know that. So glad I saw your post. Plus I wanted to find the lyrics. Now I know where to look. P.S. isn’t the piano playing so gentle and beautiful?
I was in the choir that Ryan Murphy conducted, that sang this song for the first time ever in public! Such a wonderful song. It made me cry. And this magnificent choir singing it made me cry as well.
I am transported to heaven when I listen to this beautiful and inspiring Lullaby and reflect on my memories of singing lullabies to my precious babies. Thank you Brother Murphy for your gift of Lullaby💕
With love and appreciation of the terrific spirit which this music lends in praise to the Lord. Thank you one and all. Thanks to the video and sound artists and all the support people. God bless you all. I remember, you too Bro. Max.
It's too bad that whoever "copied" this song to be on UA-cam were not careful enough with its volume -- therefore the words are distorted. What a precious song for precious babies and children who have been escorted to their heavenly homes by the angels who sang as they traveled. in my own family, the first child, a baby boy got double pneumonia in Kansas City's winter during WWII. My sister, our younger brother, and I never got to meet Larry. But now that our Sister passed on Christmas Eve in 2017, the still-living family members believe that Linda has met and now knows our brother Larry who passed on December 7th when he was 2-1/2 years young. The rest of us long to meet Larry when our time comes. ~
🙏THANKS🙏GRACIAS🙏MERCYBOOKU🙏SPASIVA🙏BEDANKS😇🙏SO INSPIRED!! THANKS UA-cam!!! I don’t have A TV Or Radio to listen to my FAVORITE MUSICA👏YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE for me to listen to GODLY MUSIC🙏I have shared it with LOVE ONES🥰THEY ALL SAY THANKS😇🙏👏🥰❤️🙏🎉
The stars are twinkling in the skies, The earth is lost in slumbers deep; So hush, my sweet, and close thine eyes, And let me lull thy soul to sleep. Compose thy dimpled hands to rest, And like a little birdling lie Secure within thy cozy nest Upon my loving mother breast, And slumber to my lullaby, So hushaby, hushaby, Hush my sweet and close thine eyes, And slumber to my lullaby, So hushaby, O hushaby, The moon is singing to a star The little song I sing to you; The father sun has strayed afar, As baby's sire is straying too. I have been privileged to play the tabernacle grand piano during one of the weekly practice sessions. Personally, I don't think I deserved it. I cannot fully explain what I have felt.

Dear Dee; There is much more peace from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints than just from the Tabernacle Choir.
Thank you for your testimony 🙏🏾 🥺

I’m a convert from NY. I live in SLC. I sometimes forget what we have here. Now I remember. I am humbled. And blessed.

Didn't Dr. Murphy grow up in Connecticut?

Brings peace and comfort to my soul. Better than antidepressant.

This is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Wish I could be a part of this choir
Sublime! This is a sweet, simple melody that will end up getting sung to our little ones.
The stars are twinkling in the skies,
The earth is lost in slumbers deep;
So hush, my sweet, and close thine eyes,
And let me lull thy soul to sleep.
Compose thy dimpled hands to rest,
And like a little birdling lie
Secure within thy cozy nest
Upon my loving mother breast,
And slumber to my lullaby,
So hushaby, hushaby,
Hush my sweet and close thine eyes,
And slumber to my lullaby,
So hushaby, O hushaby,
The moon is singing to a star
The little song I sing to you;
The father sun has strayed afar,
As baby's sire is straying too.
And so the loving mother moon
Sings to the little star on high;
And as she sings, her gentle tune
Is borne to me, and thus I croon
For thee, my sweet, that lullaby
Of hushaby, hushaby,
Hush my sweet and close thine eyes,
And slumber to my lullaby,
So hushaby, O hushaby,
There is a little one asleep
That does not hear his mother's song;
But angel watchers--as I weep--
Surround his grave the night-tide long.
And as I sing, my sweet, to you,
Oh, would the lullaby I sing--
The same sweet lullaby he knew
While slumb'ring on this bosom too--
Were borne to him on angel's wing!
So hushaby, hushaby,
Lullaby, Lullaby, Lullaby
So hushaby, So hushaby,
Lullaby, Hushaby, Lullaby
I am roman catholic but wow this is great !
All the best to you and your community I like and respect the Mormons a lot.

David Wise this was written in response to Sandy Hook
Actually if you read carefully, you’ll see the deceased child is a sibling of the child the mother is singing to.
And here come the tears....
Es muy hermoso escuchar estas bellas voces , que nos inspiran, al corazón Dios le bendiga siempre!
How absolutely beautiful.
Ir is so amazing choir. My favorite.
Bravo, Ryan! Never forget.
