I've been carrying this pack for 4 years every day doing backcountry trail maintenance for various state and federal agencies its been perfect for my line of work
My two all-time favorite pack manufacturers are Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch, so I was looking forward to watching your review, especially after watching your "short" video!
I'm glad that you like it Vedran, and agree that a padded hip belt would be more comfortable, especially when carrying heavier loads, even though this has 27-liter capacity which is great for overnighters and/or 2-day trips.
FYI:
The plastic frame sheet can also be used as a snow shovel.
👌
I've herad that before and I'll defenitely try it next time! I think it's 30l now... it was declared as 27l but they changed it. It just MR UK rounded the number :) Thanks man!
FILBE belt fits nicely.
Thankyou for driving all that way to do this video for us. Thankyou!
Look forward to seeing what belt you chose. I bought that pack 2 years ago when everyone was out of the savotta medium. I don't regret it.
Both are great packs but this one is defenitely more comfortable and has better organisation. Probably not as durable. I actually found a dedicated hip nelt for it on AliExpress 😂 I can send you a link if you're interested.
@@frostys_bushcraft Posalji link ako imas za taj hip nelt:)
@@atomic3431 trebala bi mi doci dva komada, zabunom narucio drugi. Ako trebas, dogovorimo se.
You had fun, I had fun😆 Many thanks Frosty🖤KTF🙏
Great, glad you like it! :)
Great review, really liked the lifestyle shots in the beginning
Thanks!
I like the video where you start by hugging it to sleep. I'm now also planning to buy one to hug and sleep.
Hahaha that one was fun to make :)
My MR2DAP caught me watching your video and now I owe it a candlelit dinner
Great review! I love the humor also!
Thanks. Keep up the good work
Thanks Niels!
Most fun & informative mystery ranch video i have seen so far. Hahaha
I used this pack to Asia 3 times!!! And i love it! Solid gear
I like the editing in the beginning, also don’t worry about your working man fingers 👍🏻
Thanks!
So difficult for me to choose one bag...so many choice out there!!! Anyway, great video and review.
I know how you feel!
First time I’ve ever seen this channel. Even just watching the intro I’m thinking “here’s a new sub”.
Glad you like, thanks!
I have this bag too and I agree with everything in your review. About to go see if you posted a video about the hip belt you found because I would get one as well.
@@ek-nz I actually found a dedicated hip belt in AliExpress and ordered it but still waiting on it. There's two versions, this one should have original quality materials:
a.aliexpress.com/_EzDfAcF
That is nice! Looks very well made too. You need a counter weight on the opposite side of the Kodiak. That is definitely a beast! Great review brother!
Thanks man! Yeah, that thing is heavy!
It looks like it is. That's why you're working out 💪🏼💪🏼
MR packs are so freaking comfortable.
Great review, good details, thanks for sharing. Nice intro as well : ).
Thanks Tim! Was fun doing it.
Great review and love the humor 😁
Thanks!
The tri zip in backpacks make it fast to find kit, and easy to pack compartmentized or even stuff packing styles. For myself : Speed getting to kit and easy use saves energy and mental flow. Save finer motor skills for mission. Seconds hunting for kit add up to mins wasted. Hunt the Good! Good review.
Thanks! Agreed, tri zip thing is hrowing on me.
Hey bro. I have a couple of good packs. With just a belt. So I used a battle belt, with access slots, in it, from Amazon. Also, two of those packs. Are made to use with butt pack, with hip, and H harness systems. To support the pack. Looks like a great pack. Thank you. Excellent video. Cheers 🍻
Thanks mate! Battle belt was also my idea.. we'll see if that works our ot I get someone to make the hip belt.
@Frosty's Bushcraft Ya. I use a Tasmanian Tiger battle belt, for one setup. It's so padded, it worked great. It has access slots, in it. For the belt, on the pack. Cheers 🍻
@@bugoutbrad8395 thanks mate, I'll check it out!
Thanks for showing the bottom, other reviewers dont show it.
Hey man, great video! A silly question, please. The second pocket on the lid, you show a "thing" from TRC Outdoors and you refer to it as "timmy". What is this? It looks like a kind of a cloth, but maybe I'm just missing a right word to search for it. Am on a lookout for a backpack but also for a kind of a cloth that I could use to clean my knife/hands/stuff, and this "thing" reminds me of something like this? Thanks again!
Hey! Thanks. Had to check to be sure, that's a buff (neck gaiter) from TRC Outdoors. I always carry a peace of cloth for cleaning hands and stuff but that's just something I grab from the kitchen.
@@frostys_bushcraft Appreciate your response!
Great review sir! I'm really interested in making a purchase on this pack. I'm really looking for quality after years of dealing with the cheaper amazon branded ones.
I am a fan of pockets, big like for this bag.
Thanks mate!
He ate Carolina Reaper beef jerky. Total badass!!
Certainly a good pack. I have considered Mystery Ranch myself in the past but never got to buy one. First thing is they are expensive as f*ck, at least here in the EU. Second I already have around a dozen packs of all sizes and there's no more space left in my appartment lol. And I'm more of a Tasmanian Tiger guy anyway. They're much cheaper and easier to come by. And at the end of the day weight is still weight and you have to lug it around yourself. Most modern packs do a fine job at this task. The rest is personal preference and cosmetics. But nice review video anyway!
Tell me about it... I have no idea where to put all my gear but I keep buying cool new stuff 😂
@@frostys_bushcraft I have a 30l Tasmanian Tiger Mil Ops pack nowadays for that size range. I saw your vid on the Savotta Jakaari M, and the TT pack covers pretty much the same features as the Savotta. But it's a bit cheaper.
@@residentgeardo I love TT stuff (and Tatonka)... great quality for the money.
I will show you 360 view of this backpack with the latest technology. I am about to subscribe bro lol.
Would love to see a review of the Wisport Raccoon 45L. There are very few good reviews of this pack and I have been curious about the adjustability and comfort of it while carrying weight.
That's a good idea, I'll do that.
@@frostys_bushcraft I look forward to it! This video of yours has convinced me to give the Mystery Ranch 2DAP a chance. I had a Savotta Jaakari M but I found the lack of any padding in the shoulder straps, and no load lifters caused it to be uncomfortable to wear with more than 15lbs of gear.
The Raccoon looks like a Savotta with better suspension and padding... that's why I'm so curious about it.
Loved the review, thanks
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Where did you get the green smiley patches on your other bag? Great video by the way! Looking forward to getting mine in the mail!
Thanks! Oh, they were post-it cards plus a marker, made them just for fun. But Savotta usually has them :)
Hahah loved your advanced 360 shot ;)
Ps is the size different or has it been changed. Their website states its 27 liter. I also saw a different channel which stated it was 29.4litrr.
Really like the design. Love the black version but also that off green, not sure what the name is
also the frame sheet can be used as a emergency hand shovel and child sled.
That's actually a great idea!
40 miles! Here's a like for you.
Thx for the review!
Thanks for the nice review! Do those aqua guard zippers break in and get smooth over time? They seem pretty stiff
I've been it almost every day since I got it and they feel... basically the same as the first day. Maybe a bit smoother but not much.
@@frostys_bushcraft oh okay i guess that's a sacrifice for the better waterproofness! thank you!
@@김세연-g4i I actually think that's a good thing... means it will probably be long lasting.
How is the stitching on the pack ? I know they are made in Vietnam which makes me wonder the quality control, is the pack good to take a beating ? also how many Kg have you loaded it with and how did it feel ?
Everything is either double stitched or the stitches are protected, everything looks precise and tidy so no complaints there. Most I loaded so far is arround 30ish lbs and it really needs a propper hip belt at that point to be comfy. I actually found and ordered the belt so waiting to try it out.
A very nice Review. I use the pack now for a year, really every day. It´s such a allrounder. Yes, it might not be the absolute toughest one, but it stood up to every test. Therefore it´s not to heavy. My only complains are the hip strap as you mentioned, but i don´t use it for overnighters, where i have to load it that much. The other little negativ for me is the ventilation on the back, maybe its getting better with a few adjustments. But it not much of a deal. How do think of the ventilation? Maybe any ideas to change that? Thanks again for this nice review!
I have noticed the only backpacks i find comfortable is the ones with a similar shoulder straps to this one i.e. connected together separated from the actual pack. i dont know if this has anything to do with the comfort or is it something else, this is the common thing in packs I like.
I think they didn't add the large hip belt for guys that will run this with a battle belt and a side arm pistol setup.
I’m grateful to have 2 original 3dap bags from mystery ranch I picked up about 7 years ago. The new versions feel cheaper and and not as high quality. I’ve moved on from mystery ranch as a brand and I think a lot of other people have too.
Moved on to what exactly? I'm interested in knowing
Savotta, London Bridge Trading, Goruck, ULA gear and Gossamer Gear. I have quite a few packs from other brands as well.
Don't know how older models were but I'm really happy with this one. Defenitely not as robust as say Savotta but between the two I always use the MR as it's comfy and has good organisation.
To what brands ?
What’s your height though? Would help with size in regards to the yoke.
I didn't realize all the space and compartments. The knife is a beast!
Yup, it's got great organisation.
Bok Vedrane, vidim da imaš novu oštricu.
Imam da i stvarno je impozantan komad celika.
good review 😊👍🏿
Thx for that and very good.
Which colour bag is this? i am trying to decide between forest and foliage and this looks like it could be one of those two.
It's "Forest Green". You can tell from the black padding on the back of it. On the "Foliage", the padding is grey.
Fab!. 😍
Thanks :)
Do you wear the S/M or M/L harness?
Nice review ✔ Of course, highlight is the first sexy slow motion that made me laugh 😄
Thanks! Advanced technologies make things easy :)
Is it true to its size ? I’ve seen a lot of video reviews saying it’s more of a 30LT rather than 27Lt which I wouldn’t mind if it was a bit bigger
Didn't really measure but compared to my Savotta Jaakari M it seems about the same, maybe a tad smaller. I'd say 30l is about right.
Which camera and filming gear do u use?
Erm... Sony ZV-E10 body in SmallRig cage with Sony 15mmf1.4 G lens or Sigma 18-50f2.8 and Zeiss 16-70f4 in older videos. Planing to get 70-350 for wildlife. FotoPro carbon tripods, random fill lights and Rhode Videomic GOII as my microphone. Plus some misc stuff from SmallRig, powerbank holders, magic arms etc.
that bag what size?
Also be careful when walking and video recording as one could easily poke themselves in the eye 👁️ from a small twigg sticking out into the trail!!!!
Очень хорошее видео, спасибо. как вы думаете, это лучший рюкзак такого размера?
Why all your gear look like you just pulled it out of packaging?
I dunno... cause I'm OCDish and I take care of my gear.
No, don't like spicy food I love it! 😁
Love spicy food my dood
Haha you are a funny guy man!
Thanks!
good backpack but i prefer jääkäri M
I take this ove over the Jaakari M most times. It's comfy and has great organisation.
Hello sir, would you mind to share me your thing in your first aid kit, I also have one
Color?
If you like this bag but want a hip belt, you want the blitz 30 or 35.
Kydex knife is
?
Please stay metric.... Please!
Gosh sweetheart you definitely need to check out Gregory back packs there probably a lot more expensive 💸💵💰💲 but extremely comfortable and they make just about any configuration you'll probably want!!!!
Just food for thought no harm intended!!!!
🥰🤠🥰🧸🦣🐻💞 And Howdy Howdy from DeadHorse Alaska sugar!!!
My fiancee and I both really like them!!!!😊
