    I have one of these and use it for pretty much everything. It’s great for travel school work etc as well as tuning around with gear because of its semi rigid frame (the insert BF talking about). I’ve cycle commuted with it daily covering it in water and mud for a few years. Have also spilled battery acid all over it and it didn’t phase the materials great bag over all.

    Most of the reviews I have seen online only talk about the positives in the bag. Thank you for pointing out some of the negatives and its use case. Seems like a really good bag if it fits the use case.

    I've had a black Mystery Ranch Sweet Pea for years. It gets used constantly for groceries. Not a very sexy roll, but I can stuff it full and no one looks at me like I'm a tactical prepper. Although black tends to stick out when hiding in the grass, it also blends perfectly in an urban setting.

    I've had this bag for a year for dayhiking and travel. I just use a grimlock attached to the pals above the bottle pouch to hold my 40oz nalgene. Even upside down the bottle doesn fall out and easy to remove as well. Cheers and God bless.

    "...and covered in appropriate amounts of dog hair." LOL. I feel ya. I have a Great Pyrenees, which is basically a white floofy moose pretending to be a dog. He shows his love by shedding freely on anything and anyone who comes in contact with him. I love him, but trying to lose anyone in the woods with him is impossible, because he leaves a trail of white hair stuck to every bush and tree, and then if there isn't snow on the ground, he can be seen from 2 miles away because he is the only 130 pound white blob on the side of the mountain.
    Anyways, I love my Two-Day Assault. It actually is my EDC bag and goes with me everywhere. I've used it for years and can't find any real faults with it.
    I am digging the content. Keep it up.

    For 5 years now Ive has two kinds of "tactical bags". One a 50L traditional dump pack for serious hiking and bushcraft, the other is my 27 liter Vanquest Ibex that has the bare essentials for an "assault" or "direct action" tarkov bag. Its smaller than your mystery ranch 2day but Im really happy about the size and it can prevent me from overloading as a bigger one will tempt me all the darn time. Love your content man. All quality
    There's a 3rd one. Its that family Im Never Coming Home bag.

    I have the same bag in green. And the larger sphyxn 60.
    I also do bushcraft living in fl.
    Im no authority on it. But knowing a bit allows to carry less amd get more.
    I can get 4-5 days "comfortably" (no such thing as efficient and true comfort when roughing it ) with the 2 day back.
    And weeks on end or more (in my area with skills) with the 60.
    The 2 day is great for a short duration recce larp , simple overnight overwatch or camp . Or a day hike.
    Sure there coms about the pack. #1 being the belt system .
    But i did find a good cheap upgrade. Its the AER hip pads. Replaces the stock belt.
    Definitely recommend.
    Side note. Itw notched buckets attached to the webbing above the sliders for the chest strap. Will allow you to run a placard or chest rig panel. I can run either my rdr gear msp, or my mayflower uw modified placard. Without sag, due to the slip mechanism on the chest strap slider. The itw buckles stay put.
    Sweet bag. It can do a fair amount.
    But its best to plan ahead and modify to fit specific capabilities.

    Seems like the insecurity of the water pockets when using nalgenes could easily be overcome by tying shock cord to the MOLLE on either side of the bottle roughly just below the cap.

      I use one of the water bottle pockets to secure a GoreTex shell to the outside of the pack by folding it in half lengthwise, unsnapping the top buckle, running the GoreTex through the strap for the top buckle and folding it over, then stuffing the end of the sleeves and bottom of the GoreTex into its hood and the hood into the water bottle pocket. It works well for that. I have a LifeStraw bottle in the other pocket secured via carabiner, and that does okay as well. Overall, I love my Mystery Ranch Two-Day Assault, and after dragging it over mountains and through the woods, to grandma's house and all over God's creation, I have been unable to find any serious fault with it for my purposes, and it still looks brand new.

  • @WarhoundActual1
    @WarhoundActual1 Рік тому +1

    In regards to the outside pockets; 2 qt canteens work really well in them. But yes, tents, ponchos and bed rolls are the good good there.

    • @mikemasek6249
      @mikemasek6249 7 місяців тому

      Agreed, the outside pockets work great with a 32oz Nalgene or a 40oz Kleen Kanteen. I tried a 48oz nalgene once and it also worked fine. A small carabiner attached to the molle keeps the bottles secure.

But the the pouches kind of shows, I digres. I plan to run a 32oz hydro flask w/ a caribeaner on one side and an IFAK on the other side or my jet boil. Be careful shooting near your frozen car windows. How much weight was in the pack while you were shooting? Great review; consider doing your magazine changes or immediate action to correct a malfunction in a more high-ready position, keeping your eyes aligned "down-range or on threat" it will also put your rifle in a much more ergonomic position. This will also help direct brass out of the rifle instead of into the chamber. Drills, both Position and Actions should be managed into Near and Far contact or Ambush and will look completely different. A purpose driven drill will run more smooth and thus look more tacticool on your videos and be more valuable to your training and muscle memory.
