Nice job buddy a lot of guys start from the bottom and work up they say you get less steaks but personally I think if you start at the top on. Low pressure and apply it evenly you won't get that much run off well I don't seem to anyway
Agreed mate never had an issue starting from the top, find it easier to manage to be honest, as long as it’s on there and soaking in it’s all good if you’re using top quality products 👍 cheers for the comment mate
Starting from the bottom is good of you have a low flow as as you work upwards you re coat the stuff below With a decent flow rate it doesn’t really matter More so if using hypo as it makes a bigger difference
Good video mate, i don’t like the soft wash at all as you need to trust the chemicals and wait for days for results but I like the tools introduction 👍
quick...??....been using hypoclorite bleach as a weed killer.....50/50........have noticed areas of slabs are clean and spotless....after scrape and brushing could this be used on tiles........my own house....??.. cheers...
Great video, very informative. When applying the biocide, could you use a brush on the wfp too, just to give it a but of a scrub as the chemical is sprayed on?
Hi David, thanks very much. That’s exactly how I do it now, find it easier to scrub it In as it’s coming out through the wfp. Either way you’ll get the same results it’s just a bit easier on the back and shoulders when you’re brushing 👍
@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning Thanks for the reply. Yeah I thought it might he an easier way and is the way I'll go about it I think. Keep up the good work. The videos are very good and helpful. Dave. 😊👍
Another great video bud and always great to watch!! I’ve a slate roof to clean it’s not bad more green than anything else and will be using the algo clear pro and customer has said what guarantee do you give so just wondering what’s a fair guarantee to offer with the biocide application ? Cheers buddy
Im not sure if i mentioned it in this video but disconnect the downpipes and catch the run off, if you cant disconnect them for some reason I usually plug them up and mop up the run off once the roof has settled. I pour any run off into an empty 10L barrel and take it to the local waste site when it starts getting full.
@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning thanks for that. I have been wondering how people do it. I was thinking of blocking the gutters with say a heavy rubber ball and then when you’re done with the bio treatment sucking it out with a gutter vacuum. Do you think that would work??
@@jasonb4915 You could do, a ball may still let some through though so wouldnt be perfect, 99% of the time you can just disconnect at the top and pop a bucket at the bottom where itll be dripping but theres always a way. I do use a towel stuffed in the downpipe a lot
Hi mate there is mixed reviews on this but i choose to be safe not sorry. I collect all chemical waste from the job and do not let it reach the drainage system. For more details i'd recommend reading up on this, www.gov.uk/guidance/pollution-prevention-for-businesses from reading that it mentions foul drains being okay but im still wary so I don't risk it just incase what i think may be a foul drain, isn't. Unlimited fines doesn't sound nice.
Great video. Can you give me some advice on how you charge for this service please when quoting. Do you estimate a time for labour while scraping and cleaning up etc.... and a price by the M2 for the biocide process. I’d like to offer this service next year to my customers as some north facing roofs are really bad. Thanks ja
Hi jason, I have a video about how to quote for roof cleaning on my channel, ua-cam.com/video/UjP8p_GAnTs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=PartridgeExteriorCleaning Check that out for detailed quoting. I personally quote for how long it will take me + materials. but it takes some experience before you can estimate that so in the video i linked i go over charging my m2. If thats not how you want to do it i'd recommend a full roof clean to charge a day rate, most roofs will take you two days if youre inexperienced so day rate x2 + chemicals.
Hi, do you use the same backpack for the soft wash chemicals and then rinse out and use for gutters with fairy liquid etc? Or do I need to use a separate backpack for the soft wash? I’m thinking about getting the gk pro
Is there any courses available for learning this? It seems very specialist or is it as straight forward as you explained? And by that I mean just careful and correct application of the correct product is enough
If you didnt use biocide how long is it before there is noticeable moss grow back? I ask as I use the rain water for plants and I'm worried I would be collecting a diluted biocide solution in my water butt
The moss would grow back quickly if not treated with biocide. Really you should disconnect the downpipes when biociding a roof so that you're not polluting local water sources
@@benjak02t In my area there is only a single pipe into the road. The new builds they separate rain water pipe. Locally everyone just dumps it into ground
I use a 12v pump the same as the backpack ones and the chemical one I use does a good couple of years if washed out properly after each job 25 quid for a new one Every 2 years is a bargain
All the main ones are around the same price mate, they’re approved for roof work so no worries with insurance if anything goes wrong. If a 5L of biocide is under £90 be wary of it because it’s probably extremely weaker or it won’t last as long as the main 3 companies. Algoclear, Benz, GKPRO I wouldn’t risk shopping anywhere else
