Another banger of a video Joyce! 51:50 I quote the rapper Jay-Z a lot because he's an INTJ that made it. He wrote the following in his book, "I don't want people to listen [to my music] or read [my book] and think, 'oh that verse is about so-and-so'; what I really want is for them to listen to the song and say, 'Oh, that verse is about me'. Stories are a powerful tool to teach life lessons and I love that the community is slowly transitioning to a story form narrative instead of purely data, academic, and science. You both rock!

Yeah, you do a great job of bringing to life the concept of type, too, Jon. :) You aren't afraid of having 'the real conversation' with your audience, which I applaud you for.

INFJ and ESTP have more in common as both want deep connections with others and care about character. ISTP has more in common with ENFJ as both want to be validated and validate others, and share a desire to end ignorance in the world.

I like that hermeneutic solution to type!
But somehow I see myself in INFJ, INTJ and INFP story the most and I felt that very concious back that days... like I want to help people cause of the pain I went through and want to prevent others from the same pain, so I have the calling to revolutionize the whole school system. But I saw the obstacles in human nature and that this is futile and it won't fulfil me. So I quit after 7 years.

What about when there are multiple archtypal motives and themes?
Interesting way to look at types. Dario Nardi sees the archtypal patterns of types that most don't see.
But I think for me there are multiple archtypal themes playing themselves all at once.
INTJ-ESFP huge change that you have to adapt. ✅
ENTP-ISFJ perfect solution to end all solutions and an interative process in doing it so. ✅
ENTJ-ISFP discovering the malice in the world and the light and darkness as in Plato allegory of the cave. ✅
INTP-ESFJ unexpected events and a need to be able to maintain a homeostasis. ✅
ENFP-ISTJ writting personal story of fiction and seeing how it could play out. ✅
So that's more than half of the mbti types haha.
Yeah I don't think that types can be narrowed by one singular archtypal theme either. I think there's rather a mechanical process underlying any archtypal pattern. And thus if the mechanical process occurs a change it could very well create different archtypal patterns. So I ultimately see the archtypal process as being one of emergence.
Since archtypes here relate to the way we conceptualize the consciousness of types and we look at it in terms of attitudes. I don't think that consciousness can be narrowed down by a one sided approach in looking at the attitudes that types exhibit. For consciousness itself is the totality. And a mere archtype doesn't contain just one element but a totality in itself too. I rather think that archtypes as "packets" of consciousness are fractals themselves which could mean that archtypes themselves can develop differently.
To prove this point. I want to present a contention surrounding the origin of archtypes themselves. I don't think that personality types existed from always. I don't billions of years ago types existed. But rather they developed gradually as a memetic process as the culture and environment affected the genome of humanity and evolving with each iteration the new sampling for what we call an archtype which is an anomaly in the human genome. Those differences are ultimately a product of certain prefferences and environmental factors. But I ask anyone this. Would archtypes even exist if we have all lived in the same environment and tracked closely the process of development to equalize any differences? I don't think so. So then archtypes are a product of the gene diverging from the norm in the iterative process and evolution of humanity genome in an infinite regress. The same process of evolution that allowed for variations I think is within the idea of type too.
And if type is a memetic and cultural process. It ultimately means that type is in continous movement and development. The types of this generation will not be the same as that of 5 generations from now. They will look at us and see that we are different. Would they say the same that perhaps they all were a society of ISFJs having a dogmatic view and taking things for granted? And then 10 generations from now will see differently too.
While the idea of an archtypal story for each type seems interesting and enticing at the same time. I don't think that we can narrow a type and focus on a singular story. I don't think that the consciousness of an archtype can be collapsed into one story only. Even if we take only one color such as purple. There are many and different variations of it and gradients. There isn't just one singular purple. But many types of purple who all are purple. I think the same is true for archtypes that represent the totality of consciousness together or the electromagnetic spectrum or light.

Jung mused that the functions evolved as human beings evolved, as a response to the challenges of life; and that, in theory, new or different functions might emerge as the species and its circumstances change. As for the stories themselves, I cannot emphasize enough that they are each examples of the expression of an underlying pattern of consciousness, and ideally I would have written 3 or even 4 stories for each type, each different. The "narrative themes in common" are not exclusive or definitional, just observations to help people see how "opposite types" are really not so opposite.

Everybody experiences all or most of functional archetypes in their lives but clues to your true self (or type) manifest in the recurring themes of your life. An Ni hero type may have occasional Se clarity in the here and now but most of there lives will be spent in their headspace. An INFP may occasionally find themselves being Te dom in the real world and that may feel like an exhilarating experience but it will not be the overarching theme of their lives.
