Concept Art to Art Statues: Pascal Blanché's Derelict Planet
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 гру 2019
- One notable trend in the world of designer toys and collectibles is the ability for independent concept artists to turn their unique characters into fully-realized statues and figures. We showcase the striking world created by artist Pascal Blanché, whose Derelict Planet universe has been turned into two beautiful statues in collaboration with the new collectibles company House of Gog. They're unlike any art statues we've seen before!

thanks a ton guys!
pascal blanché 🥰🥰🥰
I've been sent back in the universe and comics of the 80's like the Incal, MetaBaron, and so more. And yet, you've such a modern style and unique approach...

I'll get some of your artworks in the future
Why am I now, only hearing about you. I sure hope you a large supply of books of your illustrations, that I can now purchase.
Thank you for the feature TESTED! All love from Canada :)
Bravo Pascal!!!
That second picture of Pascal's you showed with the person crouching on the pillar or whatever that is reminds me a lot of one of Gerald Brom's images. In fact as I look at more of this stuff there's almost certainly a huge influence there. I really dig it a lot
Ive always had a fondness for ruin based tech which i think is amazing
Those are so slick I love the color schemes
This is totally amazing! Wish I can see these sculpture in person!
These are amazing! The first paint job on a sculpture where I thought it added to the piece. I find painted works look cheaper somehow, even great paint jobs. Well not always but quite often. Here it works so well. It's just stunning work.
You guys should definitely check out Takayuki Takeya's works
Wow I vividly remember Moonstone from ages ago. Hope I'll get able to get these some day
Fuck me this is such an 80s sci fi esthetic, I fucking LIVE for this!
You have some work that reminds me of Richard Corben. Great stuff
thanks I take that as a huge compliment :)
Awesome artist!! I discovered his work with the 3ds Max 2008 (if I remember correctly) opening splash screen.
@1:34 - it looks like a post-apocalyptic Nac Mac Feegle. I love it!
I clicked because of the lady but I ended up learning a bit.
i don't know about originality but this guy's work is definetely striking
I love that they offer payment plan options... very helpful way to be able to own such amazing Art pieces :) :)
Thank you Dominique! :)))
I've always like his style. It reminds me a little of Chris Foss's work
I met Chris Foss ;) Such an insipiring and cool guy :)
Thought it was John Blanche at first😁
Not far off too, if you'd just swap out the blue for red...
Great stuff, guys.
Plenty of red
I want those figures!!
Hi! You can see more photos and order yours directly on our website: houseofgog.com
House of Gog The price point is not affordable, sorry. Love them thou
@@bile897 All good! Hopefully we can visit different price points with other products in the future. Thank you and you can stay connected to us via IG, FB or Twitter (@houseofgog)
FRAZETTA
Master Frazetta! A big influence and inspiration in Pascal Blanché's work.
Great
About $800 per figure. Not really a criticism on the value of the figures but it does place it out of most people's hands, if this was PVC and priced at the $100 dollar range i would be pretty keen on getting it. That said i love the art style and i hope the artist continues to make awesome figures.
GreyDevil Hey! Thank you for your comment and best wishes.
Unfortunately the tooling for PVC is very expensive so for projects with edition sizes in few hundreds of units, PVC is not an option. Maybe one day we can afford PVC production 😇
@@houseofgog I totally understand! I collect Resin and PVC and i know that PVC production is non-trivial. That said i hope you can get there some day, but regardless you're doing incredible work. If you keep doing resin i would not be upset :) i just hope to own something of yours eventually
GreyDevil Thank you very much! 💗
We have more art statues in the pipeline with Pascal but also with other incredible artists as well!
We would be honoured if ever you own one of our pieces.
Let’s stay connected 🤩

Super
Nice
This is great news for the artist because it finally allows them to kick the toy mfg out of their lives toy company's rarely ever give much to the actual toy CREATORS now the toy companies can get replaced by the actual artist
that one on the left...Avatar meets Alien
As a painter, I would love to have one of these unpainted and do the rest myself.
May I ask where exactly can you get your statues made after initial sculpting? I've been looking for the longest while and bearly information on art sculptures.
pretty sure you forgot to mention Frazetta
richard corben-esque
Yeah especially in the color choices.
Oh my goodness, you do WH40K. Whatever you're selling I'm buying.
Hey, are these cast in resin?
Yes, 100% polystone resin :)
you kidding me? that figure of jack costs 8oo dollars! Im a squirrle! bc thats nuts.
Awesome. now I know how to pronounce his name :D
Love those statues, specially the moonstone one. Though both are great.
HOW do they produce such models? they dont look 3D printed but way cleaner but the artist did no sculpting? somebody else sculpted them and made molds?
Hello :)
Pascal Blanché works in zBrush already, so we had a strong base to start with, but we did re-sculpt most of the character to make it work as a physical object, always with Pascal's full approval and oversight at each step.
FYI - we own the factory/workshop where we make those art statues by hand, using the same production techniques and pipelines the larger statue companies use as well. Although House of Gog is a new brand, we have been making statues professionally for over 20 years and our production team is very experience and amongst the very best in the industry.
Each art statue is hand cast and molded in polystone resin from a master prototype. It is composed of many parts, assembled together at the workshop. They are separated in a [much] smaller number of parts to reduce footprint, risks of breakage during shipping, etc. They require very mild and easy assembly by the collector; each part has pegs and/or magnets to make the process fun and easy.
You can check out our assembly video for Moonstone here: ua-cam.com/video/ef0vw6TDl0w/v-deo.html
It is a very elaborate and complicated production process, particularly for Pascal Blanché's intricate designs.
I hope this answered your question.
@@houseofgog Hi there! Thank you very much for the detailled explanation. So you serve as a professional sculpting/molding/casting avenue for everybody who would like to have their designs come to life. Every private person could in theory pay you to re-create their 3D models (maybe even 2D) into resin. For a price that reflects your professionality and quality of course. (Which I certainly can not pay but I am very much interested) Thanks again for enlighten me and the youtube link.
@@TheScratcherStudios Always a pleasure to interact with fellow passionates!
In regards to your reply, not quite. We are a brand making our own collectibles in collaboration with established world-class artists so we are not a service or third party production house. We would not be the right people to get in touch with to make someone's private project into resin models, etc.
That being said, one of our cofounders owns the workshop/factory and his main company (Pure Arts) does make high-end collectibles for companies like Warner Bros, Sony, Ubisoft, Bandai, Dreamworks, etc. as well as for iconic brands such as Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Assassin’s Creed, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Dark Souls and many more. They are specialized in video games related collectibles.
I hope this additional info makes you better understand what we do.
@@houseofgog It sure does. Thank you again for the quick and informative reply. Hearing this is quite interesting to not even me but surely many others here. Maybe we can see the inner workings of your shop on TESTED some day. would be great. wish you the very best in your great endeavours!
TheScratcherStudios Thank you very much ! 💗💗💗
Watching jazza is still better than drugs. So instead of taking drugs watch jazza.
As usual far to expensive for most to afford.
Because his meshes are so detailed and thick that, when they pass from virtual 3D to 3D print, the production faces considerable costs and also they are insanely painted (at least with no additional option for gray ones that gives liberty to custom paint and save some money). House of Gog however, it's expensive just looking at their prints.
Nah
thank you for not saying that awful phrase POST APOCOLOPYTIC CYBER PUNK. ughh
while the colour scheme and sculpt are great, I feel like saying it's supposed to look like that is just an excuse, for $800 I'd expect it to be better, seems like he couldn't decide between a "realistic" shading style or giving it a stylish flat 2d illusion look (what I think he should have gone with) and so it looses a lot of the impact of the original images.
Great that these artists are getting a platform but $780? That's extortionate!
Nice
