As much as I LOVE watching Adam wandering about his cave, talking himself through a build, a team build like this is so fun to watch! Seeing everyone's talents and areas of expertise come together for such a cool build is refreshing!!
Really reminds me of pre-2020 Tested
3d printer did much of the heavy lifting
@@The_Sage_of_Six_Paths just like your dad!
IKR this really felt like a whole different level of program big projects with the talents of multiple people really work well. As you said Adam is enough on his own but this is next level MORE
I love seeing the enthusiasm they all have for each other’s work. They’re all so excited to add their own little touches to bring the whole together.
Three of my favourite things in one spot. Sci-fi space ships, Bethesda RPG's and Adam Savage. This was great.
Props to Sean on such good 3D prints.
"Props to Sean on such good 3D prints." So much working converting the game file to 3D print file. I really want to know how many people hours went into doing just that part.
Yeah, me too. Im astonished by all his forethoughts, and the finished build being so seamless is mindblowing.
It really is amazing! Wish we could get a hold of these stl files too. I'd love to learn how to do this sort of work. I wouldn't have access to a mill. But being able to match up some of this work to self support build. Then run lighting and switching. Would be a fun hobby to build a show piece diorama from this.
My 74 year old father was a handyman, architect, and a painter. He LOVED your videos. He would call me out of the blue to talk about your latest build or another cool thing he saw in your book. Last year I lost him and he wont get to see this build.
Just know Adam, you have touched many lives with your gifts and your passions. ❤
So sorry for your loss. Thank you for taking the time to share your comment; we’ll pass it on to Adam.
Thank you!@@tested
I love how this channel shows a thought process as it unfolds. It never brushes past stuff and assumes you don't want to see it. It's the best seeing everyone problem solve in real time.
Oh, really appreciate that, thank you!
Absolutely. The why is often just as interesting as the how.
I agree, that was amazing. Still a couple of explainers inserted here and there or overlay graphics to point to what they were talking about would have been helpful.
What JunglePunks song is that lovely Trumpet piece?
true , really interesting
Tested and Starfield? That is one helluva combination. This is gonna be good.
I second that comment!
We had SUCH an amazing time on this project. So fun! And wait until you guys see the finale!
Bethested
Starfield & Tested? It's one helluvuh drug.
The Corporate Overlords have approved this message! Get excited, pre-order, CONSUME! Don't use that think-fruit on your shoulders. BUY!
A genius piece of marketing. Thank you Bethesda and Tested for coming together to do this. Loving every second of the talent on display, both in the Bethesda team design and in the Tested team build.
Yeah, this is the /only/ thing that's made me the slightest bit interested in Starfield. Before now, I've just been ignoring everything about it- Bethesda hasn't really impressed me in the last several releases- but if anything's going to break my apathy boycott, it's Adam Savage.
Same!
My first thought was give the Marketing team a raise, this was smart and so good!
Absolutely, this is a perfect synergy between different nerdy interests. Everyone loves a nice model, even those of us who don't build our own, and then there's the extra hook of looking behind the scenes on old-school practical movie-making. This one project hits about six different dopamine centres in my geeky little brain, and I am VERY into it.
I love seeing Adam being all giddy as he sees new pieces of the ships and how they fit together!
I like how adam gives his team all the work 😂😂
Bravo to Bethesda's marketing team for this idea. I would watch an entire season of episodes that's just this kind of thing.
I was just smiling the whole time. Can’t wait to see more!
It would be so cool to see Todd and the people who spent hour making the model come and see and talk to the Tested team.
If Todd dares say "It just works" while in earshot I'd be curious which team lynches him first.
While anyone can build a kit, the work that goes into creating a kit (or a one-off) is mind blowing.
I've built a few kits in my time and it's fascinating to see the different things that have to be considered during this process.
And as this goes forward I'm sure I'll be wondering more than once just how much time is saved simply because of the experience everyone brings to the table.
I find that impossible you smiled for an hour straight OK then calm down
@@greengamerguy623 lol
Really? You were smiling for 56mins, I call BS on that statement.
Are people really going to rip on the OP for using a figure of speech? Damn bro. Of course he didn't, but I bet he frequently smiled throughout.
I know Bethesda would have to sign off on it, but would love, love, love to have these uploaded where they could be downloaded by the community for people to print and modify.
Multiple different pieces we can click together. Sci fi nerd Legos.
@@MisterMeaner3000 exactly, and due to the modular design, people can custom outfit their ships in line with the intent from the game. Would be pretty sweet.
Yeah I would really love to have the STLs available. Might be a bit too complicated for a standard printing project but it would be an excellent starting point
@@MisterMeaner3000 i remember a toy line from the 80's, maybe 90's called Multimac, that were exactly what you described. Cool af
I would love to see this too, but I think it's unlikely if there's any kind of toy deal even remotely being considered. Imagine all the parts from the game being available, would be wild to recreate your ship(s) physically, even at a much smaller scale
We have come to love and respect Adam's maker skills, but a huge shout out to Sean and his 3D model. That is a huge undertaking and you could tell the whole time during assembly how excited and proud Adam was of Sean's work. Great job so far!
Thanks!
@@CworthDynamics That's outstanding work Sean, I'm so happy to see this online. And i loved you highlighted how internal ribbing is paramount when printing thin accurate parts to avoid warping. I'vd started printing big scifi ships lately and they sure made me learn Blender at a much faster pace than expected. One question bothered me during the whole video is your mention of threaded inserts. Did it mean you 3d modeled (or boolean McMaster models) the inserts or did you drill and epoxied real inserts into the ship parts ?
@@the_arcanum I used press-fit expanding inserts - just modeled holes to drill size they specify. I have used heat set inserts with resin prints as well but it puts off really nasty fumes and I don't like using them as much. Work great on filament prints though.
This team seems phenomenal to work with! All infinitely talkented, professional and enthusiastic. I can tell that when they talk through their process they are looking for insight and learning opportunities from their team. It’s great!
Adam going back to the ILM days is always a treat
What a cool collaboration. Glad to see you guys take this on!
It’s been SO fun for all of us.
@@testedso excited for this series and the game
Adam S and Starfield. It just works.
ACG and Starfield… now THAT works!
we all want our money back.
actually really love the lasers that they don't need to be flipped/mirrored, cus what ever factory makes them doesn't need to have to do that since it is just a functional weapon that slots in, you don't need another manufacturing line just so your ship looks symmetrical, only stuff that is involved in flying is really needed to be symmetrical.
So much effort and love has gone into these designs it's really inspiring to see someone just go "I won't mirror this laser, it might look good mirrored, but it wont make sense in the world"
Masterful work ♥
I hope the ship designers get to meet them after this cool collab, as always I love seeing Adam’s enthusiastic reactions to stuff
Now THIS is how you product placement well! Bringing together my fav Bethesda and Tested
Guys, I was very very sad about my profession and my intusiasm was fainting away, but watching how excited you guys are with this project and how on point each steps are hited me with a flame of new excitment to actually improve myself and changing my point of view to the final goal perspective and feeling a bit of the joy before I even start a new project! Thank you very much ! I can't wait to watch the next one.
Looking at the thumbnail, I. Did. Not. Expect. That. I thought I was about to watch a review of a presale limited collector Hasbro product. This is so much cooler to see Adam and the awesome pro model maker team Tested has showcased over these years work together on a real studio build ! And damn, FormLabs machines are far removed from our amateur print sheds but they look worth their gold. I can't wait till the community is able to reverse engineer the game files and reconstruct a printable model without the access to original Bethesda files. And showing us how to build a riggable model is just cherry on top. Thanks Tested for the great content !
I think this series might be the first and only UA-cam series that I’ve ever enabled notifications for. This is going to be so much fun to watch the ship come together step by step.
Wow, thanks for your comment AND enabling notifications. We know that's a big deal!
Same here!
Yeah, I will too!
I was going to say thee same. I'm not missing these
Don't tell the advertising team I was already going to buy the game, this video series is going to be amazing.
is it not going to be on gamepass?
@@Deceniumit will be yes. If you want to play it a week early you have to buy the premium version I believe which is crazy
I'd pay $1000 to play the game now@@NoCheeseNoMercy
I mean, yeah I'll probably play it on gamepass, but I will inevitably buy some DLC or pay for the full version since it wont necessarily stay on gamepass. @@Decenium
And that didn't fit my bit :P@@Decenium
Love this series already! The modular design of the ships will be so much fun to mess with in game. Thank you for this!

I will never buy anything from Bethesda ever again. Starfish is going to be trash just like everything else they've produced under that liar Todd Howard.
Are guys ever going to learn where the sponsor link goes?
@@Skankhunter420starfield* and almost every game besides 76 was well received
As an old scifi, Adam and Bethesda fan - this episode obviously had to be a treat! , Adam's workshop itself is very impressive
He's living the ultimate modellers dream.
My boyfriend and I are very envious of many of his toys. My resin print alcohol bath is a plastic tub and an old toothbrush. :)
@@spinlock1785 Who cares if this modeling crew is sponsored. That's to be expected with any professional modeling project. You expect them to build this for free?
@@spinlock1785 Shhhh, let people enjoy things.
I am so happy Adam started a YT channel, always brings me joy to see Adam work on things. The satisfaction he gets out of the little things is very fun to witness. P.S. The tested team is definitely not to be forgotten, didn't want to make it feel like the YT is only Adam.
its amazing to me how the way they put this model together fits so well with the game! the way the modular ship building goes it just works with 3D printing and model building IRL!
I have a completely new appreciation for the model kits I built as a kid. I never truly thought about the insane amount of thought and work that goes into designing a model kit. Great video, thank you for bringing us all along for the journey. Cheers.
Thanks for the comment! So glad!
The crossover episode I never thought I needed. I can die happy.
But not until after release. 😊
One of the best videos in Tested history. Didn’t want it to end! Can’t wait to see more of the work on this model.
So, this is the Adam Savage I love to see at work. The effects wizard. He may not be the greatest miniature builder of all time, or the greatest practical effects engineer/artist in history, but what he's unbelievably talented at is making the process VISUAL, and engaging. These props are going to look incredible, Bethesda have made a great marketing choice, and Adams Tested universe shows it's chops as a producer of tangible goods and services. It'll be fun to watch.
Dude!!! i literally got goosebumps from just the title, ive never being so excited for the release of a game, and im 52 and playing games all my life!
You're a young fella! I'm 65 and have been waiting since early January, paid my money a month or so ago and have to wait till September 6 (NZ release/distribution) for hands-on - dang.... but I'm nearly there. I am really twitchy for Starfield, gotta say - gotta think about blood pressure and general palpitations. Stay calm and be patient is the theme.
@@MrPossumeyes I preordered the Constellation version the day it was available, the last 2 months have being painfully slow, hard to keep my mind off this game, good luck and hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do
Cant wait!
Binge watch Sci-fi movies and play Bethesda games while you wait. I have been watching the Alien movies, playing Fallout 3 and Fallout 76 while I wait.
Just 15 more days to go 🔥🔥🔥
As a longtime Bethesda game studios enjoyer, I fell in love with Morrowind on the OG X-Box, and a long time Adam Savage fan, come on who hates Mythbusters, this is something I didn't know I needed till now. lol the hype is real. And PLEASE ask Bethesda if you can release the cleaned up STL files to us.
We will!
Part 2 is live now! ua-cam.com/video/B4dio__b3Fo/v-deo.html
I love this new approach, a commission build…… real work…. THIS IS A GREAT NEW FORMAT FOR THE CHANNEL. WELL DONE ADAM AND THE TEAM
I almost passed out when I read Tested AND Starfield 😍😍 this is going to be AMAZING
The 'crossover' I didn't think I'd get, but absolutely love already 😀 What a wonderful time!
This may be one of my most favorite AST videos yet !!!
Creating a model from scratch and engineering how it all goes together and finishing it is a real adventure in it's own right. This is why scale modelling is such a fulfilling hobby
The perfect collab
There are space suits in Starfield, so maybe that should be the *next* build?
At some point Adam Savage is going to have (if he doesn't already) the largest collection of space suit replicas/props in the world... and to be fair that's a great life goal.
@@geoffreychadwick9229 Oh, believe us when we saw Adam REALLY WANTS to make a spacesuit from Starfield!
im so excited for this game so seeing you guys do a Collab project is so sweet
This is insane! Well done to Tested team for all of this. Can't wait for part 2 or maybe even 3 of this. This is ridiculously amazing! Thank you Bethesda, Microsoft!
This is awesome!!! I can't wait to see the rest of the build, filming, and the final product. I'm so glad you're documenting the process. I really hope you do more of this. It's about time you got back into production. And, I love that practical and miniature effects are seeming to make a comeback, and I hope the trend continues.😃
This was a joy, and frankly a relief to watch Adam actually build something in his workshop that wasn't more bits of the workshop itself.
Great project and fun to see the team working together 😊
It was our dream team of builders!
@@tested I’d love to see Sean do a detailed video on his 3D drawing process sometime 😊
@@tested 100 percent, Sean did the Yeoman's work on the 3d file, printing and connection details. I can't wait to see how the lighting goes and how Kate weaves her magic, I loved her bladerunner blimp paint and decal job 😍!!
I feel like Grant Imahara would have LOVED working on this with Adam. What a bummer, RIP Grant. The world is a little less bright without you in it!
This is the right type of Marketing for a game. LOVE THISSSSS
Honestly it's cool to see these types of videos because it kind of gives a behind the scenes look at the process of creating (including some of the thought processes) some of the big movie models. And I personally think that since you have a whole series of "One Day Builds" that this should be grouped with other multi-episode builds called "Mega Builds". Anyway that's just my oppinion. Looking forward to more videos! 🙂
Now Adam should make his own ship in starfield once it releases! Super hyped for this game
Thanks for the video! Never saw this kind of process details as much, with everything coming together.
I can’t wait for the next part!
These kinda videos are some of the best "ad's" for games and other media, It actually made me want to play it more. that part 2 is gonna be awesome.
Now this I'm excited about...I've always enjoyed watching "the making of" videos, specifically the way they build the spaceships for movies...will follow this series closely for sure!...stay safe everyone!
The fact ships in Starfield are modular really makes me want someone to make all the parts in the game so I can make anything that's in the game in real life. You guys have done an excellent job bring this to life. I can't wait to see it finished!
Oh man that would be incredible
One of my favourite videos produced by you guys so far! Looking forward to watching the rest! Thanks for sharing!
@26:10 great music!
And ofcourse great vid overall, thanks.

This is brilliant.
Absolutely brilliant.
I've been looking forwards to this game for a while now - and seeing Adam and the teams sheer joy at this...
It's just soul warming :D
Hurrah! So glad to hear! Thanks for the kind comment.
So happy to see anything remotely gaming related and Adam Savage maker vibes crossing over like this!
Oh my this series is gonna be great, I can't wait to see how this comes together. This is making me want to build my own frontier!
There are very very few famous people who make me smile when I see them, and Adam Savage is one of them.
More videos like this. I love seeing the whole process from design/concept to finished piece. Awesome work.
This whole partnership is an absolute godsend. I was already so hyped for Starfield and now look at the model in physical form plus the expertise of the Tested team I am over the moon
What happens when you give room for that inner childhood geek and all the tools and training most engineers would kill for? Adam Savage 🖖
May Crom bless the nerds and the geek that give us these things.
*Tested* Builds a REAL Starfield Starship!
Excited about the format of so many of you working together on one build 🤘
12 seconds into this video and I am nerding out so hard on this
My Favorite Game Ever and Adam Savage's Team Making a Ship for it! Amazing!
A scaled down version of this as a model kit would be a great piece of merchandise for Starfield
Absolutely! Please send the STL files over to Revell or Tamiya so they can create plastic kits!
Allways amazes me when 3D artist/modelers break down a model into its texture maps, a skill I haven't learned to do well yet (except on boxes :)) totally awesome!
Love that Day of the Devs shirt!!
Kudos to all on the Tested Team, amazing build. So much enthusiasim
Seeing Adam and his team nerding out the project gives me hope about the game. He has that same energy that he had during the expanse series!
So awesome! See you all in the stars. ❤🌟
Wow, amazing work so far, can't wait for the next episodes of this build.
This is like that dream crossover that I never expected to ever happen. This will probably be my favorite promotional piece for Starfield ever.
Love your work, and keep it up.
I don't think there has ever been a collab I have loved more! My favorite game studio and my favorite team of makers working together is truly a dream come true. I know I'm going to watch all of these videos several times to better understand the thought process from visual to practical!
How satisfying it must have been for Sean to get the models from Bethesda and be the first to slice them. So cool, so jelly!
Really excited for this one! Model building and Bethesda games are my favorite hobbies :)
This is going to get 20 million views Adam
What a world we live in. When CGI models are everywhere, it’s never been easier to make the most intricate practical models ever.
Watching Adam fly solo in projects is always dope, but seeing him work a crew is really something else -this was a fantastic vid.
I am exceedingly hyped for this game and I feel like that hype is "justified" by Adam's involvement in this project (edit, and the Tested team!), because he only involves himself in things he likes (or so it seems to me). Amazing!
We were genuinely excited about this project, and it actually surpassed our anticipation.
OMG more episodes like this please! 😊
Four more episodes coming!
wooohoooooooo
This is what i enjoyed about Tested before Covid. Multiple contributers to projects and different things. Love Adam and his things in the cave but we need more. Imop
I really hope this is going to be offered to the public as a model kit. With lights and all the goodies. Perty Please!!!
This looks like so much fun, can't wait!
Gotta love modern 3D printing tech! (Can't wait for the game either.) Great work team!
I really enjoyed watching you build the spaceship and following your thought processes. I can't wait to see the next part!
this is unbelievable! to make a hobby "toy"... the engineering and planning, skill, knowledge and fun! this was incredible! thank you!
Great video, fantastic build. Please make a video series about how Sean approached the modeling of the print files. Tools, process, keys, tolerances, pins, other considerations. All the stuff he briefly touched upon during the video. Adam always seems like an avid learner and eager listener when talking to people, but seeing him like this with one of his team mates while actually working on a super cool model was just the best. Great chemistry. I'm looking forward to Adam getting into 3d modeling and letting us join him not only on his physical building journey, but also on the virtual planning and building aspects. Adam's solo build videos still belong in my favorite "comfort food" category, but this was so much fun ... do more, pretty please? I guess I missed the team :)
this series of build videos is gonna be awesome to watch. I'd love to see more like this with the full Tested team!
It was amazing to all work together again!
So much talent in one place and the intuitive engineering and 3d resin printing is astonishing, i cant wait to see the rest of this build i look forward to it. Its so relaxing to watch but i can imagine the amount of work, dedication and focus they had, great stuff!
So Glad @AdamSavage Still Has That Passion To Building Spaceship Models !! Keep Doing These Projects @AdamSavageTested !!!! #ThePowerOfTheForce Compels You ... 😎👍
Been waiting for this to drop since Adam mentioned "a video game client".
I admit tho, I was half expecting another spacesuit.😂
Ha! Don't think he's not tempted!
This truly makes me wish there was a "Order my ship's model" option in the Starfield shipbuilder interface. Imagine being able to buy these modules individually for a fully modular Starship model building series... would be such a cool and refreshing addition to the model-building community.
This is the first Tested that caught my attention in a while.
I'd love to see a video from you guys on hollowing out models and prepping for print
I really hope they can make those stl files available for us too! I would love to be able to print this and follow along.
Have you seen anything anywhere about the files becoming available. I would certainly purchase them.
Unless Bethesda releases them, I'm betting the STLs they made for this will remain private. Likely something that was covered in the contract they signed.
i agree would absolutely love to recreate this
Just wait fo the game to release and export the files with the usual mod tools. Have to clean up for printing yourself though. Or check all the 3D printing sites. Eventually someone is gonna release something similar.
I loved seeing this look into how 3D modelling from a game model was tackled. Sean/Shaun/Shawn you legend.
Watching this video was a genuine delight. I can't wait for the rest.
I’m anxiously waiting this game. What a surprise this video was. Now, you and Bethesda need to make this available to buy.
