It may be more ironic than the succubus is not the most lascivious mod class of DD. I mean... Have you see the hood?
There really needs to be a penalty for this. She should inflict stress damage to religious companions since she's a demon.

Fun fact: When you use the Silence Curse on one of the Maiden from the Falconer class mod, the Maiden will activate "Maiden's gratitude" (since all other skills of hers are stress related), stress-heal your party and leave a corpse behind. It's kinda fun to imagine that the girl sees the succubus and gets so excited, she keels over.

@@MechWarrior894 Probably. Everyone goes to the Hamlet because of some kind of regret, they miss their eyes because eyes are a window to the soul and their souls are missing something, why should the succubus be different?
So I used My Hero! on Voivoide and you won't believe what happened.

This is fun. Unfortunately, that's not for me, because I don't like taking more than one hero per party that usually does no/marginal damage
Yes voivode succubus and darkwraith have some hidden dialouge between eahc other when Voivode or succ use their guard skill
Fun Fact - Succubi were (in my favorite old English version of the myth) 1 part of a pair. Supposedly the succubus would enter into the home of a monk, priest, or other pious and totally not sinister man either through magical means or their dreams (leading to sleep paralysis which I can tell you from over 20 some years of experience isn't great). From there they do the do and keep the goo (the most romantic way I could think to word it). They will then go to an Incubi which is basically their male counterpart and dance horizontally with them too. Here's the fun part, the Incubi's does the sexy time backwards, as in his junk doesn't shoot out so much as he takes in, yeah, I'll let you process that for a second. He'll then travel to some innocent village girl/ maiden and do the nasty with no pantsy (I'm running out of sayings) using the stolen "essence" before flying away.
And that ladies and gentlemen is the convoluted system of demons used by members of the church in ages past to explain why the poor girl who was taken advantage of birthed a child that looks a whole hell of a lot like the creepy priest. Welp, I hope you all had as much fun as I did. My masters degree was large in part about myth and folklore so I always love to talk about it wherever I can.

Is “protect your goddess” the first ability of its kind to force a guard by enemies? I’m pretty sure we have our own version of the siren now.
I think the Daughter of the Fourth might be said to have got there first, but that one could only steal guards (i.e. the enemy had to already be guarding something else)

A point to note: her dmg steal ramp gets REALLY good as you rank it up. Even at just 3% per enemy twice per battle, that's 24% dmg if you use this twice in a battle with 4 enemies. DOES NOT WORK ON CORPSES.
I'm finding that a lot of classes get extremely powerful as they get to veteran and champion dungeons, to the point where how they play changes dramatically. (Phantom's stealth ability gets ~35%+ chance to give an extra turn at higher ranks, which makes it much more usable later than earlier, as an example)
Yeah I nerfed that to one use per battle in my play through. It stuns Marked targets as well, so it's a bit too powerful as is imo.

Funny detail. In the original arthurian legends Merlin was the son of a nun and an incubus, that heritage is where his power came from.

For what I've played, this class is the embodiment of high risk/high reward. Very powerful, but you better pray nobody reaches Death's door while she's transformed. Also, even at high level, an enemy giving her a bad look is enough to wreck her flimsy HP pool.
Also, you should mention that the "My Hero!" skill has a chance to give its target the "Devoted" quirk, which reduces stress damage taken while guarding the Succubus.

I like transformation classes and think that they're cool and all but the genre is becoming a little bloated. Yeah it was just the abomination at first that was sort of parodying a werewolf but in mods there's the sisters that is unique in that way but everything else seems to be more similar to other forms of the abomination. Not that they're not cool but I just feel like they're done a little too often. Despite this fact, these transformation mods still seem amazing despite the bloated nature.
More thoughts:
- CC/CoM Trinkets are included with this mod!
- Consider using +Healing Received to aid her survival and buff her health drain.
Forgot to mention a quirk "Devotee" you can get from using her guard ability. According to Sas, "-10% stress dmg rec while guarding someone
and 30% higher stress heal receivved from my hero skill. its rare chance to get that while using skill "my hero" and normal chance to get that from mission normally"

@@sinisterhunter That's an interesting thought. I don't think it's possible. Mechanically, I'm fairly sure that her activated abilities in Succubus form just trigger a -1 hp on allies, but buffing her healing received increases that "life drain" to something like 5 each turn. :)

I found that she had amazing synergy with the Druid custom class, low hp per turn healing that offsets the succ’s drain on the team, between the two I can keep hp pretty high and stress low.
Overall I’d give the succ a 7/10 very much worth trying out on any team
Your reviews are great and I love how you focus not only on the gameplay mechanics but also on lore and class fantasy, considering many sources from outside of the game.
I used the succubus some but found her draining life from my team at the end of the turn to be a very dangerous gambit because at death's door even a single point of damage suffices for the kill. It also widdles away your parties health over time and makes recovery stalling more difficult. The best way to counteract this is, as you duely noted, is bringing a vestal for her team heal. However, the vestal is already the most required and overused character in the game which detracts from the succubus' flexibility in party building.
Protect your goddess is the most interesting skill and has a nice animation to go along with it. It sounds totally OP on paper but in practice it's actually not. Your first inclination would be to place it on a high priority target, but that's someone you would often want to kill asap anyways, thus kind of wasting the guard when you kill the enemy. When you kill the target, you're succubus still bears the mark however which invites enemies to attack her rather fragile physique. If you put the guard on a low priority target on the other hand, you don't actually benefit that much from redirecting damage to it since it's life priority. So overall the ability seems quite balanced and choosing the right target has its nuances. With all that being said, it's just generally exciting to see such a fresh mechanic introduced into the game.
You say Warcraft is influenced by Lovecraftian works, but never say it is far more influenced by Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer Fantasy universe, which it was supposed to be originally.
That is likely true, thanks Phoenix! I do claim some ignorance about the totality of Warcraft lore, and I appreciate you adding in here. A fan of Cosmic horror and Warcaft myself, that connection always piqued my interest and has been a lot more in discussion with BFA's release and updates. :)

amazing class, with shrapnel you can land a full enemy team stun and ramp pretty easily. bad thing is that the protect your goddess need to land in a slow enemy, because if the enemy takes the turn the guard is pulled off immediately
Played this class for the first time last night and I think she's pretty cool. I've only begun dipping my toes into modded classes after ~500 hours of play time between the Switch and PC versions, but out of the ones I've used so far (being the Succubus, the Cannoneer, the Courtesan and the Falconer), the Succubus is probably my favorite. The AOE debuff seems incredibly powerful since it gives her a buff that lasts until you camp.
Love this class -- so fun to use. Maybe Marvin's best mod. Complex, but yet still easy to use & understand.

I clicked on this video in preparation for DD 2 and to see how the moded classes are going. I then get an Add for "Cathrine Full Body." (A remake of an anime styled puzzle game that involves a succbus very heavily in its plot. It's really worth a play though.) So for once i like the irony of the adds. Thanks for making the video time to check out this class and have a good day.
Dude, using My Hero just for that buff would be incredible on people like Arbalest or Bounty Hunter who rely on marks for damage. And if you're worried about them being too fragile, you can just take the guard with a Man At Arms or Houndmaster. They're already going to be hitting marked enemies almost exclusively, and now they'll be doing even more damage, and with more accuracy.
I love the HELL out of this class. Super fun and interesting to play.

I think the idea of a succubus is pretty interesting and cool its not real of course but still cool
I love how Succubus, looks like more like the game then some of the other classes, kinda like the fool, the fool is.... just to shiny, way to shiny, I can the similarities to the other classes... but, the fool could fit more into a different game, unlike the Succubus who is different than the other classes but still fits into the game
Succubus in the Courtyard missions is hilarious. I brought mine over 70 damage and basically OS the countess. Sadly less effective in the Farmstead as each wave doesn't count as a different battle and you'll be able to use her drain much less than you'd like. Still in theory, you could make her grow infinitely.

Oh man. I was really ready to sign this class off as another transformer class. I still don't like the way most of her kit works, it's just a little too convenient, mostly around the post reveal melee attacks. However she has easily one of the most well thought out and marvelous camping kit I've ever imagined. A skill that summons a idol that is loaded with a shotgun blast of RNG? A skill to make guardians better? This is great stuff!

I played it with the hero mod, wich has an ability hitting every enemy and 75% chance to mark them, synergize very well with demonic leeching

In her first form the Succubus could make good synergy with high damage and/or heroes with riposte like a highwayman (has good damage and riposte)

Succubus seems so good with a Highwayman that has riposte + duellists advance. Combine that with a vestal...
This class is so strong tbh, throw her on a team with Occultist in 1, Bounty Hunter in 2, and Houndmaster in 3, she can get 3-4 stuns in a single turn, and when she transforms she just cleaves the whole front line. So powerful.
Id love to play her with a flagelent and highway man.
I find it strange that she can be used with religious characters.

Yeah about how here demon form takes some health from your team, and being on Death Door is no fun. twice that happen and twice I wasnt paying attention to that. Other than that, its really fun to use her and great with bleed/mark party.

only issue: she keeps christian iconography despite not being in a setting with Christianity. The Light has it's own symbol.
That doesn't necessarily mean Christianity doesn't exist in DD. And even if it doesn't, modders can add their own canons in with their mods.
Edit: Especially since the comic itself shows her taking a cross from the old man, I think it's safe to say this mod includes Christianity in with that canon.
Also why the fuck is a succubus wearing a cross? She's literally a demon...
@@greg77389 Beacuse in DD world, christianity is just a religion without any real power over demons. So she can go with christian symbols and say: "Yeah i'm totally not a demon guys. See how i'm holding a cross? That means i'm not a demon."

If you have steam version you simple subscribe wanted mod.
If you don't have from steam you must download mods from sites like nexus and transfer mod folders to "mods" folder inside of main game ones.
I got this character lvl6 but i think i Just prefer any better DD Class, she is funny, cant lie but dsnt help me so much for now, i hope to change My idea

I don't want to be the other guy who says what classes you should do next, but I feel like there's been too much focus on the extremely popular ones. If you want some just as good but less popular classes, check out the Monk, Phantom and Twilight Knight.
