Imagine this right.
You get off the stage coach eager to earn your coin, adventure deep into the catacombs and fight evil.
You meet your fellow squad mates,
a crusader, a vestal and the keeper, you wonder why a woman covered in wedding garb is going with your squad deep into the ruins but you don’t ask, fast forward to your first encounter with spooky boi with goblet, he splashes you with some god awful liquid that unnerves you. You try to keep your composure but the Keeper steps forward...
*AND THEN FUCKING SPLITS HERSELF IN HALF AND EVISCERATES SPOOKY BOI*
And you still have to keep going with her in the squad for the rest of the trip... lul

Half the modded classes with party stress have that theme going on, hahaha. The lamia, the sisters, the fool (blight instead of stress).
Lmao. I was gonna make her abilities have a chance to stress the other heroes, but it was too hard to balance.

Five weeks later you both share a drink in the tavern, because after all the shit you've seen, you learn to appreciate shit that aims at your enemies. And she is kinda cute... sometimes.

I imagine things would get pretty complicated between her and the abomination. On the one hand, he's one of the few characters who would truly understand what it's like to live in a constant state of needing to control yourself to avoid hurting others.
On the other hand, the abomination actually BECOMES the very thing that's tormenting her from the inside. And she's religious to boot.
Talk about a love-hate relationship.
If we imagine that the heros are in the village, maybe one day the Abomination is in a dark alley, minding his own bussines, asking for redemtion and the Keeper see him and come close to try to help him, put her hand in his shoulder the Abomination look back and the Keeper see his mark making the eldricht monster within her to attack but the Abomination defend himself transforming in his monster-self, then she regain control, maybe her first though is to run and never look back but then she look back and see that the monster is not chasing her but licking his wounds, and she stops and come closer again with her hands up and the Abomination let her to come close and cure him, he transforms back and they start talking about who they are and what makes them what they are now, she talks about the betrayal and him about the experiments and torture.
Many days after that, they are now good friends who can understand the curse within the other, she taugh him prayers and he taugh her how to control the monster, how to use it even against the monster's will. Is good to be with someone who would never run away in fear if he transforms by accident or she let slips and the monster took control by a moment. The others let them be and maybe, just maybe the religious accept to go in mision with one or the other.
Then one day both go to a mision and never come back.

@@liberatusblair i was thinking that they defeat the heart and free the world from it's control, but by doing that both would die, she gets revenge and he dies for a good cause a cause thats greater than anything he ever thought he could acomplised

I feel like she needs a EXTREMELY careful, and heartwarming hug while just hoping she dont split open and split you open.
Note: The Keeper has already been updated: "Writhe" was changed to increase the amount of bleed by 1 for each 25 stress (max 75).
Do the Offering or Hood next :)
it was actualy a typo in game, it was ment to be "amount of blead" and did function like that, but the tool tip was bugged and dident show the right effect for some reason.
@@michaelcoleman2173 An early version used to have increased bleed chance, but I changed the effect during development and forgot to update the tooltip like an idiot.

I played around with this character with a full stun team, and holy crap is it fun! the crits you pull of can help keep stress in check, and the reposite that you get as a bonus just adds to the usefulness. I haven't experimented with her fully, but so far I'd say she's a rock-solid addition!

Old video, I know, I know, but idk where else to gush about how great the keeper is.
I brought her along in a tier 1 dungeon and had her near max stress. Decided to yolo on the shambler (I was using a completely modded party I threw together at random)
Cacophony did enough damage to full clear the clapperclaws each turn. She carried the battle
I never knew about the reversibility of affliction in dungeon, thanks for the tip.

One of the thing's I've will do is take a group of three jesters and an afflicted hero to the Cove, heal them down to 0, then retreat.
It saves cash at a bit of an expense to the others, but when they retreat and you have the puppet theater, it hardly matters.

As a concept, this feels so authentic to Darkest Dungeon’s own design. I tend to avoid mods, because I feel most mods for any game tend to not understand what makes the base game what it is. But this class mod is spot on.
That's not really true in the case of Darkest Dungeon. There's a veritable laundry list of mod classes that match the look and feel of the base-game classes exceptionally well.
I understand what you mean.... I feel the same way about nsfw mods like the Fool class mod, it doesn't fit the lore of the game, but some people like it, good for them
I disagree. The background story is a personal one. That doesn´t fit with DD characters at all.
I don´t like the skills neither, is not unique in any way and any other character can do better than she do.

This is one of those clases where having blood clotting and bonus proc/dodge quirks makes them increadibly amazing and worth the investment with sacrifice.
+ Crit chance is also great to have, since her crit bonus is actually a riposte

After playing with this class for a pretty long time now, this is my favorite mod class. Very good and those modders should be proud.

I played the Condena quite a bit. Though her abilities were quite difficult to understand, once you play her, you see pretty quickly her utility. The Condena had stress recovery, healing, stunning (though not a very effective stun), and a really good combat buff for her allies. I never unlocked all her potential, but she was quite strong as a front-line support character.

Playing this class was quite a breath of fresh air, when I first picked it up, I was dumbfounded at all the unique abilities based and great artwork really giving and eldritch vibe. Thanks for the good vid, can always rely of you for good darkest dungeon content (I haven’t played the class in a while, have they updated the ability icons for her?)
This isn't the Condena mod. It's its own thing, just using the same assets.

Without any doubt, my favourite class to play. She needs a good stress management, can pull decent damage, has a few healing skills to go with and looks absolutely great.
I got this vibe that the Ancestor made his move on her, the thing kept her alive all this time or something.

Sacrifice is super strong in the weald: Put her on position 3 or 4, use it early so the enemy artillery will mark ur frontline as target - but cuz of sacrifice will mark her... the scratchers cannot hit the backline. easy.
She's so spooky, but I like it
had to download her. Great character with a good story and she fits in with the darkest dungeon universe so well that i can imagine her easily being a character released in official dlc
I have a suggestion if you want,how try Daoron's the Tactician class available on steam.
She looks so badass!
I look forward to playing DD with these modded characters. In particular the potential contrast between The Rightful Heir being the most lighthearted class and The Keeper being likely the darkest I've ever seen so far while neither feeling out of place within the game's setting and atmosphere.
The animations and overall design of this hero are beautiful!

You know this is one of those Modded Classes that i kind of feel might of made more sense as a enemy, like the Hollow, the Drowner, or the Shrapnel, (in fact most of Muscarine's Mod's). I don't know it just feels more right to me, maybe it has to do with there monster/ antagonistic like nature's or the NSFW material in each mod, or how most of them have backstory's that sound more like a Boss monster.
I also noticed that she is using the same skin of Condena, but after looking up the Steam page the Mod maker notes under the disclaimer that he got permission to use the skin by Condena's creator's (Seta Nagato and AceroSteel).
Yeah, the abomination already have this "monster ally" place in Darkest Dungeon, he is just on the limit from human to eldrich creature likely to fight for the H(if you didn't finish the game, don't ask who is H). The mods ones are darker than him, too much in my opinion
@@Sir_Bucket Yeah, most of them really make more sense as enemy's working for the H (or the Vvulf in the Shrapnel's case).
That said there are a few that i do understand working for the Heir, like the Sister's (a merc haunted by her sisters ghost) and maybe the Werewolf (want's money and revenge on Vvulf).
But most other's don't make too much sense to be helping the heir unless it's something like there working for a rival of the H or are repentant of there eldritch side like The Abomination (which most cases are not), and even then it can be a bit of a stretch in cases like the Keeper.
Shes fighting the monster inside her, just like the abomination, makes no sense to make her a enemy.

Not gonna lie the first 30 mins I was being terrified of using her, she was more scary than a Shambler but less so than a match against the Fanatic. Still awesome mod, specially since there arent that many healer classes out there, I can only think of Lamia right now.
The spritework for this one is gorgeously gory. Some real top quality work from the mod authors- and you as well, of course!
Btw, are you going to make a video covering the Omen Seeker at some point? It's a real awesome ranged debuffer class made by S-Purple, who also did the Slayer and Cataphract classes. Her CC and CoM trinkets add some real interesting dynamics, too.
MistuhRobe I love that class, but many people complain about the big chest of treasures she has. But really tho, she is amazing stuner, blight and bleeder with her trinkets.

Seems a lot like a leper. Really good on lower difficulties, but it you play torchless, then the classes + stress seems like it would be a major issues.

Haven't tried The Keeper, but The Condena is one of my favorite mod classes. So much utility, and two actions per round is insane.

Ok I just got this mod and I’m not seeing how she gets the counter attack on a crit. Did that get updated
Yes, now it's just damage reflection (works better against enemies with very high dodge and/or prot but can't crit and the damage is lower) . There's been a lot more changes to her since this video was made, both buffs and nerfs
3 stress is a bit too little for this amazing class

She could work pretty well with a Lamia.
Yup, use the keeper as a dodge tank with the wreathe trinket and bring a couple stunners. Pretty safe comp, but damage might be a concern.
I have yet to to fully stress her out. Will she always go tormented or can she become virtuous?
Can't virtue. That's what makes managing her stress so important

The monk is a very solid class. It's been requested for some time and I've spoken with the creator. My hope was that it would see a bit of tuning before we do a video. It's gorgeous as is, and I'd hate to see it brought down for it's current power state. :)

Are the people you use for the dungeon dead people? Like is the Hamlet some kind of purgatory? They have horrendous back stories that make them seem like they died and just got magically teleported to another dimension.

I was wondering about that too, so far i haven't really managed to play her very successfully as a solo healer. Maybe together with a Flaggellant or a profane scroll vestal?
For levelling her, playing her as a damage dealer (/in the Frontline) is probably the best way to go. I feel like she is pretty strong in that role.
Which is a bit of a shame i guess, as having more choice for healers is what i was most excited about when downloading the mod.
Hay 5E, curious question. A friend of mine is streaming darkest dungeon and he really likes a lot of the modded classes but he typically uses the safe for work patches for them. Do you use this one on stream without getting in trouble? He's wanting to use this class on stream and is afraid he might get in trouble with twitch.
James, ultimately streamers/content creators are responsible for making sure that their content is not against the TOS of any medium they use. I can personally only comment on Twitch's ToS here and, unfortunately, their ToS are a bit washy in regard to "mature/adult content" in video games. On the one hand, it seems clear that games which contain adult/mature content *but is not a the primary focus of the content* is okay. Outright adult/mature themes are strictly prohibited. -- Classes like this one probably get a pass as male/female present nipples are not the focus of the content.
On the other hand, Twitch also claims that MODDED content which contains adult/sexual/mature themes is prohibited. However, I don't know a single person who's been issued a ban or warning for any modded DD content to date, using "SFW" skins or other. I think it's important to point out that the "SFW" versions of say, Muscarine's classes, are hardly "safe for work" they've just been altered to contain less nudity--similar to the way I edited the thumbnail to be less nude.
In all, it's a risk you take and it's clear Twitch wants you to be able to enjoy/stream content and draw viewers, but also be able to pull the trigger should they ever need to protect themselves.

does damage reflection stack? if ManAtArms has the Mirror Shield, and then The Keeper uses the Phantom Veil on her, would the damage reflection stack?
Yeah it does. Phantom Wail also stacks with itself, but it does inflict a hefty chunk of stress and an annoying debuff, so you shouldn't spam it.

This isn't the Condena mod. It uses the same skin but it's its own thing.

the creator originally wanted to inflict stress on party through all her attacks but they said that it would be too hard to balance out.
Petition for a quest where you just kill 30+ enchantresses and if you make it, never have to deal with them again
Start taking hellion with you and use iron swan with a damage and accuracy(or speed) trinket. You can one turn most and it's broken.

So whats a good hero combination to use with the keeper. So far nothing in the comments.
If you're gonna use her as a dodge tank I recommend bringing a secondary healer like crusader or arbalest to keep her off the deaths door other then that she's pretty flexible, works really well with dancing parties as she can do the most important things form any position. I don't recommend using riposte characters as her team wide guard will prevent it form activating if the enemy attack isn't an AoE

Really interesting design, both in visual and skill mechanics, but super weak hero. If you pick her in lvl 5 dungeon - you just increase your chances to lost all party. Weak damage, weak heal, stress and damage herself and team, and ofc PRESS X TO DIE aoe guard skill. Only really good thing is reflection skill. I was hoped what autor will buff her, but seems like he forgot about this mod.
