Yessir! Great vid as always Richard! 🔥🔥🔥
You did a very nice job of explaining the various ways to do dragon fruit cuttings! I’m a novice so I love the detail you give with each demol
Thanks I learned a lot!
Love this. For some reason I did not know about the stem cut technique! Going to go give it a try now!
thank you for all the valuable info, i don't know what i would have done without you, thank you again
That was very comprehensive. Thanks.
Thank you - I’ve seen videos explaining HOW to make dragonfruit cuttings but not WHY they chose that way over another. This is awesome.
I just found your channel, you explain everything very well and make this seem less intimidting! My cousin gave me a small dragon fruit plant, it's barely hanging on,but I saw a stem cutting,I'm going to take the leap and cut it. Thank you for your videos, keep up the great work!
That was excellent. Thank you so much
This channel has been so interesting to watch. I just found it. I’ve been wanting to grow a dragon fruit plant indoors for a while, but haven’t really had the time to try it out. I live in an area where the store bought dragon fruit is terrible for every reason mentioned in your videos. I have a sunny room indoors that should provide protection from the cold winters, so hey, maybe I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the content!
Continue the great informative work appreciate the knowledge u impart
Thank you for a great video.

As usual, learned something in your video m. Planted last year and lots of buds coming out now. Mahalo! 🤙🏾
love this for multiple varieties of dragon fruits. thanks for sharing
My pleasure 😊
I learned new ways of preparing a dragon fruit for planting. That video is very informative.
Way back then I did some stem cutting it's taking a bit of a time to grow a dragon fruit plant that way,,
Good information bro.
Hi, great video! Dragon friut is so easy to propagate. Do you plan to continue the cutting to fruit series? I'm sure it would be very appreciated. Curious to hear whether they developed fruits, they were growing vigorously.
Thanks sir.
Thanks
Really enjoy your videos! Got so many Dragon fruit cuttings from your videos.
Thank you! 😁
Thanks man
Very helpful for me as I am new to dragon fruit. Thanks so much brother ❤
Hey Richard your videos are so thorough! I currently have 12 cuttings that are producing this year despite being only a year old! I'm so excited to see how the fruits turn out. I will have white, red, purple and hybrid fruit of unknown/generic variety. I think I will even cross pollinate to see what the result is! Unfortunately I tried to graft the palora dozens of times to no avail... That's my next project. Without your inspiration I wouldn't be where I'm at so thank you!!!
You’re so very welcome!
Thank you
Found you on Epic Gardner, thanks for sharing your knowledge of the dragon fruit.
Thank you, sir
De mucha ayuda tu recomendación gracias
I have recently joined the group.Believing is seeing Richard has shown what to do and what not to do in rooting and propagation. This highly elegant and informative Richard's demonstration given has enabled me to correct my mistakes. I am anticipating more of such demonstrations. Excellent work, Richard !
Glad it helps!

Thanks.

Useful
Love your video, I baught my first Dragon fruit plant today and am going to take four plants after watching your video thnx
Super ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
All subscribed 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
Love your videos.
I have a couple a few questions.
1. I just received my first plant. It has 3 shoots, about 5 inches each, all from the same root. Should I leave all 3 on the one root ball or only leave 1 and propagate the other 2?
2. How big/long does a shoot/branch need to be before you can use it to propagate?
3. Can you do multiple cuttings from one "branch/section" leaving the top to dry out. You would end up with a peice which would callous on both ends. Once calloused you could plant one end.
4. How long does a cutting need to be proportional to the size of the cutting?
Thanks in advance for your time and answers.
best regards from Indonesia 🇲🇨🙏
Thanks a lot, very informativ video. I was looking about flash cutting how to grow
Awesome video! I currently have about 20 dragon fruit cutting that I’m rooting. I usually expose about 1 inch of the cambium, let it dry, and put it in water with a little bit of liquid rooting hormone (just for the first week). The container is also on a 24/7 heating pad. The dried cambium also serves as a crutch for the cutting, so the roots aren’t touching the bottom of the container and getting crushed.
I love making new dragon fruit cuttings! 😊
You got the whole process down!! Great job 😎
Looking good man. That shirt is 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you Troy & Joy for the shirt. I love this one!! 😁
I would love one of your dragon plants
Hi Richard! I am new to you channel and I am so inspired with all your videos. I am learning new things about dragon fruits now. I have a very old dragon fruit plant but it has never grew or produced fruits. After watching your videos I have learned that I am doing all wrong things to it. Will follow yours tips now. However, can you give tips what to do or what happens to the plants if I am staying in a very rainy place and keeping it out?
❤❤❤nice
Nice! I see you're finally wearing your own merch!
Thanks for sharing Bro. I want to grow this fruit in Cameroon.
Ryan sent me here. My mom loves dragon fruit. My family has like i think 3-5 plants of em.
Thanks for watching!
Two tips when doing flesh cuts use cinnamon or tooth paste as a astringent to aid in callous. Garlic is also a good natural rooting hormone 😉
too costly bro. Raw.
Hey bro good morning i love the way you take the time to explain the dragon fruit. My question is how long after planting the cutting and taking good care of it, will produce fruit?
Show parabéns
Hellloooo
I just love your channel and your knowledge helped me get my first flower emerging this season haha I was wondering where I could find yellow dragon fruit in the San Diego area? Maybe you sell cuttings?
Love your videos! I have a question..how much do you water once the cuttings are in pots before they’re rooted.? Thanks.
Hey, You didn't say how long the flesh taper takes before going into the soil?
Hey Richard, Very informative videos. I Have some cuttings all flesh cut. Its been about 10 days and my cuttings have not callus. It appears its drying out/ becoming dehydrated. What do you recommend?
Watering is my downfall. The monsoon in Tucson had my most successful plant rot. Learned a great lesson. How often do you water. I am trying all way to propagate from the better parts of the dead plant wish me luck. Great video appreciated
It's different everytime depending on the weather. I check the soil to see if it needs watering.
Thankyou for the video
Can we make 3-4 cuttings form one single long stem
the return of the king
Fantastic, will try it out. I love propagating plants.
Feels good to be back!
Great video. Just wondering how deep you plant a taper cut? After it has calloused over, do you plant it as deep as the taper?
Hi Richard, Ive been watching your videos since 2019. My dragonfruit trees are two and a half years old and they still don't provide any fruit. Do you have any suggestions on how to get them to bud? I've started using the FloraNova Bloom 4-8-7 recently.
Do you have a video about fertilizing thrm, is there any "studies" on what to use ratio and amount of NPK?
hey Richard! Would you happen to know where I can get some pollen? I have a purple haze that just started to bloom. my red and white dfs havents started any bloom. Im from s Cali also is there a place i could buy pollen?
Hi Richard.
Great videos and I have been watching them and learning a lot.
Also I wonder if you sell cuttings of American beauty and Vietnamese red.
I am located in Los Angeles.
Thanks
i like your videos 👌👌 and i want to ask question that how to find which bread of dragon fruit i have
Nice to see a new video! I appreciate all that I've learned from your vids, and have 1O strong growing varieties in S. Florida to show for it. Started one year ago, and my first plantings are flowering a LOT!! Unfortunately, I'm not sure what variety THIS one is, or if it's self fertile. By next season I (should) have four other varieties (from mature cuttings) flowering, to cross pollinate with. Many questions regarding pollination, but I'll stick to just ONE question regarding this years upcoming flowers.
I've read elsewhere that dragonfruit can be cross pollinated with the Orchid Cactus/Night Blooming Cyris(?).
Do you know anything about the viability of that?
Thanks for any input!
Hi Hutch! Yes it is totally possible to cross pollinate with the night blooming cyris. People do this to introduce different color flowers to the gene of hylocerus genus. I personally haven’t tried it myself and stick to using dragon fruit of other varieties to ensure successful fruiting. Season is short so I try to make the best out of it! It’s alway okay to experiment so give it a try if you have limited pollen source! 😁
@@GraftingDragonFruit
Thank you for the reply.
Yes.....I have no access to pollen, and my first flowers will bloom soon. I DO have access to Night blooming Cyris though, so I may give it a shot.
I also have four of this variety around the trellis pole, and three of them are flowering, so I may also try to cross pollinate between them.
Regardless of the outcome, it looks like I'll at least see a bunch of flowers, and have plenty of pollen to save!
Will the new cutting from very young tree like that in video, will lated in fruit production ? hope you understand my question
Hi, I need your input. I received my cuttings 6 weeks ago and I did a taper cut on all 4; waited 2 weeks for them to scar over. Placed them in water on a seed mat. After a month, 3 had 2 1/2” roots and the 4th only had barely 1/2” roots. I planted them. Any ides why the ones roots didn’t grow as long as the other three?
Thanks … Tony
Thanks for this video! If I am planning on rooting just in water, do I need to allow the flesh cut and taper cut to callous first? Seems like they will be getting wet so do we need to dry it out for it to get wet again?
Yes I would let it dry up first so it doesn’t rot while I’m the water.
Hey Richard, amateur Gardner here. I’ve been looking into starting up some dragon fruit. Sorry if this has been asked already, but where do you get your dragon fruit cuttings? I live in Los Angeles and I’m having trouble finding solid reputable sources. Thanks!
What cutters are the straight edged ones?
Do you plant the various of dragon friut from seed why do you have to grow the friut and cutting it
ALOHA Richard, here in Maui dragon fruit plants grow like weeds everywhere, huge mounds and up to the top of trees like in my neighbor's yard wish I could send a picture, but they don't produce fruit very often, they must be self-sterile, so I have ordered a sugar dragon to help with that. The question has been asked below but not really answered and that is in your video E3 (1:50) you state that stem cut shoots need to be dried for a few days before planting but in this video (:48) and again (4:35) you state that it is best to just plant immediately after cutting? Please help us out! we all love your videos and if you are ever in Maui let me help you out with everything! Mahalo.
Hey Richard what soul do you use ?
What species would you recommend for someone just learning to grow dragon fruit?
What dragon fruit type do you recommend for beginners?
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Question since this plant is native to Guatemala to Brazil does it require lots of water since central America and south America seems more tropical
@graftingdragonfruit I bought an unrooted varigated dragon fruit. I was told that it need to be grafted to survive. How do I graft a dragon to a dragon? Is that what you would do? Thanks
Thank you for tech me how to do it I will try it.
I live in Las Vegas, can I grow dragon fruit here ? There’s a side of my house that gets morning sun , then afternoon shade. If so, which type do you recommend?
I got some cutting in winter, how do I root them?
Is it good to propagate large cuttings? Like 2 plus feet? Is there any downside other than not getting multiple plants?
Hi, Wich is the best tasting fruits
Thanks
does any end of the cutting work?
