Good evening CaliKim. What can I say? These videos just keep getting better and better - superb production values and superlative content. Everything looks so fresh and lovely. But of course that's to be expected from a talented gardener such as you. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Tuesday. 🌹🌼🌻
Thank you Richard! Have a great week.
This is great now I can learn more about dragon fruit, all the cuttings I have cut I just put them in a pot and they root very fast, thank you for bringing a new plant to the channel 😊
My pleasure Vee, good luck 💚
My Vietnamese Jaina bloomed mid October! It was my 1st bloom. I have 6 known varieties and 2 NOID. I'm so addicted now!!
They are so beautiful! I hope you get some more beautiful blooms!
@@CaliKim29 hope you do too and thank you! They are mature at 7 months old after they take root. My 1st bud came in at 11 months. The love and care you give plants, you will most likely have buds by next end of summer!!
Be sure to check in with Kevin at Epic Gardening in San Diego. He's got a cool trellis row of dragonfruit in his garden. He's totally into them!
Good luck growing yours........ BTW, love your videos!
His garden is so awesome! Thank you Maureen D.
I planted dragon fruit cutting last year, i got my first and only one fruit this year. it was so tasty 😋
Talk to Kevin from Epic Gardening on his dragon fruit. Maybe do a collab video with him. ❤️
I would love see them together, they both are awesome garden.
Absolutely exciting. Fingers crossed the cuttings will root.
We're rooting for you! 🤞
This was a great video. I remembered that you had received those cuttings while in Lanai. I have a dragon fruit plant that is probably 6-7 years old. It has been through a lot of ups and downs, but it has never once flowered. So I never have gotten any fruit. I’m anxious to follow along on this journey so maybe I can figure out what’s wrong and finally get some fruit. As always thanks for always posting videos that I can learn from. Thanks to you my garden has come a long way in the last few years since I’ve been following you❤
Dragon fruit doesn't pollenate itself. You need at least 2 of them
that's awesome Kim I hope everything well for you and the fruit
Thank you Jackie - Hope all is well with you and yours too
How exciting to see you getting the cuttings ready to propagate! I have had success rooting them both in water and potting soil. It will be so fun to watch these grow…from my garden to yours!
BTW, my large dragon fruit “tree” started with 4 cuttings around the base, but I think two would have been better because it is very top heavy now.
Thanks Debbie, glad to hear the true is doing well at least!
Wow, Hawaii allows us to take a branch home? Excellent! I am rooting some dragon fruit branches too, great timing!
Unfortunately, not. These had to be mailed!!! Keep us posted on your project though!
Looking forward to seeing the progress. I haven’t had dragon fruit yet, but moved to Oahu this year.
Thanks Bethany - hope you are enjoying Hawai'i!
How's it going with the dragon fruit grow? I'm in hardiness zone 9B where we get down to 28F in winter, and it grows if somewhat protected. I use frost blankets when necessary, and it still works, though 32F and above better for sure. I like growing DF in water and moist soil on heat mats to root before i grow outside. Good luck, and hope we see some update videos too!
.
😊Hi Aloha Kim !...what color fruit will it give?.. I have 3...red..white and yellow spiny which is know to be the most sweetest/ fruitiest. I fertilize them with steer manure. Greg
Hi kim I read that dragon fruit is mild and sweet and it makes your skin look younger
Dragonfruit has lots of great benefits!
I had 1 of those before drangen fruit
So what was the outcome? I don’t see a video showing the results
One is still and growing and needs transplanting. The others didn't make it - unfortunately. Thanks for asking - CK
Kevin over at Epic Gardening grows Dragon Fruit. He has at least 11 videos on it. He’s in San Diego. I bet you already know him though. Here’s one of his vids. How exciting to try something new!
