To make the mask a bit more versatile, you can order: 3M 701 Cartridge/Filter Adapter, and then you can use the 3m 2091/2097/7093 bayonet type filters. The included filter will work for radioactive dust, but it will also work for chemical weapons. The 3M 2091/2097/7093 filters are good for any kind of dust or aerosol, so that's going to cover your radioactive dust, but if there's also biological agents *cough* coof *cough cough* it will also work. That looks like a nice enough mask, the linked price is pretty reasonable, decent adult gas masks seem to run up to $500 these days. Also, if you can't get clean shaven before doffing your mask, a tube of vasoline or other petroleum jelly will make up the difference.
Good against tear gas, pepper spray type agents, not going to protect you against most military grade chemical agents. Your going to need a complete protective clothing set for everyone. Practically useless against nuclear radiation fallout. Obviously better than nothing, but the radiation is still going to enter through your clothing etc. Time/dosage of exposure is critical. The Potassium Iodine was a nice add though.
Gas masks and hazmat suits don't protect against radiation (except for low levels of gamma radiation). They can protect against radioactive fallout, though.
Guy tried to sell me a gas mask. I asked if it was NBC qualify. He continued to ignore. I gave you can't show me at NBC qualified I don't want it. He left mad but left empty-handed
NBC is the old term. CBRN is what has been used since the mid 1990s. One thing to look out for is that the rubber the mask is made from is butyl rubber. That can withstand acid gases, such as mustard gas. There are cheaper materials that will also protect against radioactive fallout and toxic gases, but I prefer the added, long-term, protection of butyl rubber.
@@idahoprepperfuck that guy lol if I wanna play around and prepare for etc I can I’ve saved money just by buying food gas propane guns ammo etc just last year yet alone years ago lmao so again fuck that guy
That's a bit of a misconception perpetuated by movies. The book "Nuclear War Survival Skills" and "The U.S. Armed Forces Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Survival Manual" (both written by experienced professionals in the field of CBRN) go into great details about it in their books.

Informative! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
A good reminder for me to replace the iodine tablets I have.
I wonder how they tested for radiation from nuclear fallout.....
