Unfortunately, while we projected the CM-8M would be returning this summer, our manufacturers experienced an equipment failure that prevented the production of our Oro-Nasal cup molds for the mask. This has caused a further delay, as that is the central component of our mask redesign. We apologize for the inconvenience, we are just as frustrated as you are but this is completely out of our hands at the moment. The second we learn of a new batch arriving, we will notify everyone.
you guys are genuine rockstars. your people in charge of facebook and instagram are awesome and really nice folks. thank you for being so cool. I'm getting my next gas mask from you guys this week
These masks scum though for what you pay, and you don’t even get a filter, it’s like getting a Kevlar vest without the Kevlar for the same price as a regular one
Same. Just gotta figure out perscription im torn on making my own inserts or just spending the extra 200. Im.hoping to buy the PAPR attachment with the CM7M
Roman, I reached out to Mira a couple times telling them about when you offered me a demonstration mask from a couple years back and cannot seem to get any response, I do want to leave positive feedback for Mira Safety since I know you believe you are doing the best you can.
I wanted to get the CM-6M on your recent sale, but the shipping to my country is just too painfully expensive, like half the cost of a mask and pouch and filter. Additionally, without proper decontamination capability, which 99.9% of the civilian population does not have, the mask and hazmat suit have limited viability. In the case of exposure to a radiological event, how does one even take it all off without receiving a severe dose of radiation? If the power grid goes down from the EMP then there's no water to even shower in the suit. People are more screwed than they think I'm afraid. Still better than being out in it directly no doubt.
If you google "NBC suit removal" and also look up donning and doffing PPE on UA-cam, you'll see instructions on how to safely remove a contaminated suit. As per radiation dosages when removing PPE, no PPE will protect you from Gamma radiation or or high levels of Alpha or Beta Particles (depending upon the event), but PPE will reduce harm secondary to skin and respiratory contamination, once radiation levels have dropped after a few days. If space permits, you could always keep a 10 Litre manual garden sprayer filled with water, as that will do the same job as the kit provided to the military, but it is a 2 man job to use it and your suit has to be fluid proof, rather than just dust proof to use it.
With the stated exception of blister agents (which I am not at all worried about), wouldn't the CM-i01 be just as affective versus fallout or wildfire smoke, given you equip it with the proper filter?
Recently bought the CM-8M, so does the butyl rubber break down over time? Is is really 20 year shelf-life??...seems a bit low...🤔 Also, why do the unopened P3 & CBRN filters expire too? The P3 are just cloths on the inside right? And the CBRN have added charcoal. Both seems pretty inert to me in their packaging...🤔
20 year shelf life is considered among the highest longevity standards in the industry, I'm not sure how that would be low? Our specific p3 filters and NBC-77 SOF filters, when unopened, do in fact last 20 years. Again that's actually well above average in the industry.
@@MIRASafety yea but is the "20 years" thing just a marketing timeframe to get people to buy/spend more or are there actually studies that show they just immediately crumble to dust when they reach the "expiration date"...🤔
@@MIRASafety some dude (weaponsandstuff93 I believe) tested a WWII gas mask and it still worked (sealed properly) so those have like a 70 years+ "shelf life"...🤔 And SurvivalLilly wrote that she personally tested a 30 year old mask "even though it was hanging in a dirty tool shop for decades"... 🤔
The problem is Oxidative degradation of ther parts of the masks containing Polymesrs. Polymers are either manmade or natural (Organic) and consist of rubbers, plastics such as Polypropyline and Polyethylene and glues. All of these materials can degrade (Polymer aging) over time when exposed to Oxygen and poor storage conditions when humidity and/or temperature is very variable. Most repiratory PPE sold for commercial use has a shelf life of anything up yo 5 years only, as a failure of this kit could result in long term harm to health, or even an early death of a user. As a result, most manufacturers err on the side of safety as regards expiry dates, lest they be sued regarding diseases such as Absestosis or Silicosis due to PPE failure. A 20 year shelf life is quite impressive for respiratory PPE.
Very resistant. We've shot the CM-6M with a 12 gauge bean bag round and it still held up. We recommend using our PROFILM visor protector just to keep the minor scratching off the visor if you intend to use this for airsoft.
Which one would you reccomend that is cbrn but also is very good against toxic chemicals and gases because i dont want my lungs to melt and i dont want to blister and also for acid (just try your best for acid idc if there isnt one i just hope there is)
Would highly recommend our CM-6M gas mask for general purpose use against CBRN threats including chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals. Pair that with our NBC-77 SOF filter. That is if you are only concerned with threats to your face and lungs. For full bodied protection, look into our HAZ Suit and MOPP suit.
Im really interested in getting the CM-i01 gas mask since its way cheaper and I live in a place where each dollar has it's weight in gold (Argentina), how durable is it? is it good for prepping and having a just in case mask? I've seen a comment from a guy in the page for that mask that complained about the rubber, is durability really a concern?
I just got your CM-8M, a couple of months ago, and just found out that your drinking tube is too short. You have to push the diaphragm inwards to get the tube to comes close to reaching. Sorry but I'm not trying to break the mask being sealed. Can we get this fixed or exchanged please?

The CM-7M at the current moment. It was tailor-made for combat applications as it will allow you to shoulder a rifle more easily and is compatible with optics.
The CM6M, 7M, and 8M are all CBRN rated. The CM-i01 is made of silicon so has limited protection against mustard agents, but can be used for escape/evasion in a CBRN event for short exposure durations. The filter is what is most important and the NBC-77 SOF of the one you want.
Our CM6, CM7, and CM8, and the newly released C21 are all CBRN rated. TheCM-i01 is made of silicon and is not resistant to certain chemical weapons such as blister agents. Bromobutyl rubber is what distinguishes a CBRN rated mask, as it is resistant to these types of threats. The bigger question is the filter.. you need a CBRN mask, and a CBRN rated filter in order to be protected.
Standard glasses aren't compatible with any gas mask as the seal would be broken around the temples, however, we have a set of prescription inserts that mount underneath the gas mask and can be customized to your prescription. It's called the Spectacle Kit. All you need to do is upload a prescription and we do the rest: www.mirasafety.com/collections/frontpage/products/miravision-gas-mask-spectacle-kit

The visor is rated to meet the standard set by EN 168 for impact protection. We have tested this mask to a much higher level of impact resistance, however, and it performed well. This included shooting a CTS bean bag round out of a 12ga shotgun at 15ft, and the visor held up. Please note, this was done under non-scientific conditions so results may vary.
