43:48 Well, that explains a lot about every Resistance story ever. Angry Mobs are stupid strong, especially when there's AK 47 FOR EVERYONE!, you just need to work the mob into a frenzy.
At 17:00, you can kill the second Hunter chopper by running through the gate on foot, spawning it, then running back and using the MG tower to shoot it down. Joseph Anderson did it in the trolley saga.
Stealing HMG from a heli isn't even the greatest achievement of Resistance in terms of firepower before Gordon arrived. The fact that colonel had pushed out several dozens if not hundred guided missile launchers for Resistance in a WEEK after Gordon tested a prototype alone is very telling about the talents of people involved. Yeah, they use Combine ammo, yeah, they're likely ripped out APC launchers. But still, the sheer numbers of them.
I never considered them as being hand-made weapons made from APC scrap, but given that no combine footsoldier is using any of those, humanly-accessible ammo (not inside the vehicles) only appearing in rebel encampments and general weakness of striders, APCs and gunships to missiles, it makes some amount of sense, actually. This makes colonel Odessa Cabbage *much* more valuable member of resistance, placing him near the legends who yoinked the gun from helicopter somehow
@@jumpinghunter9152 There actually is a combine soldier corpse with a rocket launcher in Highway 17 chapter, as well as a rocket supply crate in Nova Prospekt. Also, episode 1 had rocket launcher armed soldier in game files.

It may have taken a year but man was it worth it. Keep posting peak Saint jam. This may not be seen but during anti citizen I tried saving the rebels and I alternately left them so they would be farther from the citadel
One thing I did whenever I disarmed Spider-Mines was moving them to choke points and POIs. For example, I’d spread them out around doorways and supply caches. Along the coast, at each cleared outpost, I also leave a “table” built of scrap and stock with guns, meds, gasoline, ammo, etc. I also tried to make networks of platforms after the lighthouse, just in case anyone has to move through the area. Imagine laszlo being surrounded by zombies in Ravenholm with no ammo left but he manages to escape because the wooden floor is slightly cracked and laszlo takes the chance to kick that spot in the floor and he goes down a cave that leads somewhere else
you can actually save him, you have to kinda abh by that place where he lies so you will not trigger the cutscene and then you need to not touch sand until the end of that section of the level
When you block npc’s from sewer sliding by impeding them with props that’s a cannon to your character that they are putting their foot down for their lives
21:51 You could've let the ball into the base as the ball's faction is set to be an ally which basically attacks both combine and alien, the resistance would've probably used it for something.
What i do is bring it with me into ravenholm and then use as bait for zombies, they come to closest enemy and cannot deal any damage to The Ball. It also serves as a great cannonball too. It can serve the just cause even when away from human bases.
While I wish its faction was set to that, but it’s actually named something different (like Matt) so it can’t attack. it’s pretty obvious that it tries to roll into you, and the other members of the resistance don’t like it. I still find him to be the best character, just correcting that statement.
gordon's most powerful weapon: map triggers "if i don't go through the door, they will never die" "if i don't go through the gate, the striders will never spawn"
2:44 I know they're literally not real but it's important to note that they're just animals, not monsters with bad intent, they're just trying to survive, even if that comes at the cost of a human life.
That is the reason i hate the combine the most, they abduct other species and make them into weapons. The striders, gun ships, ect. are just animals, doing what they were trained to do.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how you can bring every friendly turret with you in Entanglement. Could leave them behind doors that lock to kill even more Combine. Then again, the whole facility probably went bye-bye when the teleporter exploded.
There are very few videos of yours out here. And yet, I am able to safely say that every time I see a new one come up, I am excited. Roleplay is not something many people do, but more so when it comes to a challenge run. Especially where the run is not the norm of speedruns or 100% completions. These videos put a smile on my face, and I honestly can't wait to see the next one.
Gordon woke up and chose violence. His goal is to save as many citizens as possible, and nothing the Combine have to throw will stop him. The absolute rampage in the mission Our Benefactors was just amazing. It's always fun to just take off the kid gloves and unleash chaos on your enemies. And great job saving so many citizens, this was incredible. Humanity survives! But the fight is not over yet, Half Life 2 Episode 1 and 2 are left to complete, with many more lives to save and Combine to destroy in the mission to save Earth.
I was hoping you’d make this! I always felt bad for how much death there is in HL2 and I have a ton of fun memories of me throwing myself into fire trying to keep all the citizens/rebels alive but I always struggled with some of them so I really appreciate you taking the time for this, it’s insane how much effort and techniques you put into saving just a group of npcs in a video game.

12:25 In the ravaged streets of the once-great city, Crow, the Resistance member had been watching the Combine regime's brutal oppression for too long. With its sharp eyes and quick wit, Crow had been secretly gathering intel for the resistance, slipping in and out of the shadows to collect vital information and deliver it to the rebels. One fateful night, as the Combine's tyrannical leader, General Breen, prepared to address the city's terrified citizens, Crow swooped down to whisper crucial details into the ear of the resistance leader, guiding her to a hidden entrance beneath the stage. As Breen began his speech, the resistance sprang into action, taking down key Combine officers and disabling their communication arrays. With Crow's intel and their own bravery, the rebels overthrew the regime in a single night, freeing the city from tyranny and earning Crow a hero's place among their ranks.
The way you put rifles on the table reminded me of my own playthrough of HL2, when i did tidying up of the whole halflife world. Meaning at every level, i kept putting every movable object into perfect order. For example when i enter a room, i put all the chairs and tables into normal positions, then gather all the weapons, ammo, cups, bottles, garbage etc, and place it perfectly onto shelves and tables, leaving perfectly clean and accurate room behind. And i did it EVERYWHERE. Whole world, when possible. Also when in Nova Prospect, i was carying every possible hacked turret with me, all the way till the final chamber. Combine were very unhappy to see the room being covered with 10 or 12 sentries in the end. But the way you managed to save the guy with an energy ball, deflecting the rocket, is a stroke of genius. Also clearing entire square without letting anyone die is truly the gem of this playthrough. Im looking forward for Ep1 and 2, but im afraird they are too short and dont have many survivors in them.
I like how you not only just do the challenge, but give a pretty awesome explanation of a lot of what happened before Half-life 2, and whats going on during the actual game. I could literally use this video to show someone the story to this game and what led to it in the first games, just ofc let them know to ignore the challenge aspect

I like to imagine that whenever you lock your squad behind a door they're like "GORDAN YOU DONT HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING ALONE" and Gordon's just like "I cant risk losing anyone else..."
* Proceeds to b-hop across the level to save more rebel allies. *
But then they die because they're locked in there and the citadel explodes.
@@RabdoInternetGuy I have faith in them to break a door off its hinges to escape an exploding citadel. Just because Gordon leaves the chapter before they can get it open doesn’t mean they can’t get it open at all.
I prefer to imagine it as him sending them away to fight on another battlefield.
Nah it’s more like Gordon to say “ “
32:30 i can imagine gordon freeman pushing everybody away as he tells them that its not worth going out to fight
I love how he doesn't just save them from a game perspective, but through a lore perspective (or game world). Little things like taking out all the headcrabs and leaving weapons for resistance members to defend themselves.

Joseph Anderson did it in the trolley saga.
maybe he could stop the trains as well?
I remember destroying the helicopter by the dam by just shooting it before it got off the heli pad.
TROLLEY CHAN NOOOO
I had to immediately check and make someone mentioned the Joseph Anderson trolly chan video when he said that chopper can't be killed.
Well, the RPG itself is based on AT4 anti-tank grenade launcher, not like it's a fully handmade prototype or something
APCs probably have really huge problems moving in the destroyed city.
I never considered that the RPG Cubbage gives you is a prototype, I just thought you walked in on him teaching rebels how to use it, then you walk and he's like "Oh, you'll probably be much better with this than them, here you go." Plus, laser guided rocket launchers existed in Half Life 1.

@@X_mezo_X Damn, guess I was wrong then.
@@Professor.Chucklenuts What you pointed out is still an interesting little detail to consider though, and a good one too, that's the beauty of Half-Life 2, there's room for many possibilities, the thought of Gordon pointing his gun with malicious intent at Mossman for her betrayal is one of those possibilities.

It wasn’t perfect, but I hope it helped.
Laszlo will be remembered
he survived, since he can still move his head and he got covered by debris freeman gave him. The other one will protect him, the finest mind of the generation wont fall
Imagine if Laszlo was like, the kind of character who always gets into seemingly-deadly situations and somehow always comes out alive? Imagine laszlo being surrounded by zombies in Ravenholm with no ammo left but he manages to escape because the wooden floor is slightly cracked and laszlo takes the chance to kick that spot in the floor and he goes down a cave that leads somewhere else
you can actually save him, you have to kinda abh by that place where he lies so you will not trigger the cutscene and then you need to not touch sand until the end of that section of the level
Their needs to be a half life 2 fan game where you play as laszlo

21:51 You could've let the ball into the base as the ball's faction is set to be an ally which basically attacks both combine and alien, the resistance would've probably used it for something.
You cant trust combine tech if there are lives on the line
What i do is bring it with me into ravenholm and then use as bait for zombies, they come to closest enemy and cannot deal any damage to The Ball. It also serves as a great cannonball too. It can serve the just cause even when away from human bases.
While I wish its faction was set to that, but it’s actually named something different (like Matt) so it can’t attack. it’s pretty obvious that it tries to roll into you, and the other members of the resistance don’t like it.
I still find him to be the best character, just correcting that statement.

The way you put rifles on the table reminded me of my own playthrough of HL2, when i did tidying up of the whole halflife world.
