My PX1 Ranger went into limp mode, stuck in 3rd gear, engine and TC lights on. Removed the stepper motor on top of the EGR and freed the valve up by working it with a screwdriver. Reassembled, out of limp mode straight away and a day later the CEL has gone out. Thumbs up
Today, 12/01/24 I replaced the actuator in my 2015 FR. The error code was P0048 - Turbocharger Boost Control A Circuit High. I had to get it second hand as no one locally sells aftermarket. Thank you for you videos, I have really learned a lot. My car now pulls as if it was brand new. From Windhoek, Namibia

Better than the scanner you have is a elm327 cable that supports forscan, and forscan windows programme. You have 100% full access to all controls. Can do dpf static regen, reset all learned values. Data log all sensors, turn certain features on and off that higher models normally only have. It's great. Thr software is free but the cable I bought was about $140. It works with all fords and a fair few other brands

Another cause of the BD air flow code is if you fit a snorkel or change the air intake and don’t reset the MAF learned values. Learned that one the hard way
Hey bud. I have the same modle. It drives great except when you are under heavy acceleration. Eg overtaking or pulling up a hill it throws the limp mode and i get the cog light that dissapears. No code no engine light. I quickly switch the key off to on and its back to noraml opperating untill i need the power next and it happens again. No other symptoms. No heat issues no excess fuel. Water and oil are still seperate gearbox changes smooth no diif noises.

Mint vid mate. I have a ‘15 bt50 250k had the similar issues with the egr being stuck closed. I cleaned it up got it working mint. Put in back together. Turned it on and the engine light still shows. Scanned it and it shows P0403 “ EGR control circuit “ what causes this and how can I fix this issue? Tia.
My Ranger firstly threw the display lamp for transmission error… orange gear symbol with exclamation mark… it would disappear every time I turned the engine off and would return after a while maybe 45 mins driving… then I got the check engine light but it didn’t go into limp mode ? Any suggestions welcome
I currently have fault codes coming up as P0403 & P042F. I’ve replaced hot and cold hoses with silicone ones, cleaned all intake manifold and EGR valve. All manifold and EGR valve looked very clean. I’m still getting same fault codes and thinking that the issue is an intermittent issue with EGR valve. What are your thoughts on running these codes after above procedure?
Hi, at the start of the video you mentioned the under boost fault code PO299 - but there was no further mention of that code that I heard as you went along. This code is coming up on my Ranger and the mechanic is stumped - and is at the point of just sending the turbo away to be replaced. Is there anything else to check do you think, prior to replacing the turbo? A smoke test has ruled out any splitting of the intercooler piping. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you might have.
Do you have videos having problems with wrench light on? My car went limp mode and i cant start my car. I changed the batteries but it doesnt change a thing. I started my car then it crank for 1 sec and shuts. But if i start it while pushing down the gas pedal, it crank for 3 to 4 secs and shut off. What seems to be the problem? And how to fix it?
Good Day AA, I have no codes and no lights pop up... When I drive it goes into limp mode no boost. When I park it for a while and go start it again everything is back to normal what could that be.... No codes with obd tool scratching my head with this one.
My PX3 ranger has just begun to play up when trying to start when at operating temps. It cranks over like normal but wont start.leaving me stranded for 20 to 30 mins. If i leave it for 20 to 30 mins and try again its starts and runs like normal..so weird. 33k on the odometer. What could be the problem?
Nicely done mate. Thanks for taking the effort. I've got a PX2 and it had an intermittent egr problem making it miss badly under acceleration under load. Bit of a nuisance, turned out to be the egrt sender unit in the exhaust manifold. (DTC's) P040C/P040D and/or P041C/P041D. Apparently pretty commmon and Ford have updated the part, no. CC1Z12B591E, about $70 and a 3 minute job. Been looking for a little scanner to save taking the laptop everywhere. Will order the one you linked, thanks. Cheers PP

Any ideas on this matter? About every 6 hours of driving shortly after accelerating from a stop... no fuel for about 1-3 seconds. Fuel always seems to kick back in but wondering if could get worse. Only when its cold and only sometimes, anti skid light comes on the the gearbox gets stuck in whatever gear its in. then I switch it off and on again and the problem goes away for weeks and then sometimes more regularly. unfortunately I don't have the code. have u ever come across something like that?
yeh preety common, it's going into limp mode, i have a few videos & methods on how to scan the computer for a fault code , i would advise watching those videos.
Gday mate, i have the p0405 circuit A low voltage 2016 px2 i replaced the whole valve and is still throwing the code. A mate plugged in his scan tool and says no voltage to the EGR valve at all do you know which of the wires to test for the A circuit. Cheers for the videos
I have a 2022 3.2 ranger (in brazil we do not have the 2.0 biturbo), not a single problem so far but man, all I can find is problems related especially to egr cooler failing or turbo exploding engines being rebuilt with less than 150.000km or ford straight replacing them. Have you rebuilt your engine?
Hey mate have you heard of P0672:00-2E Cylinder 2 Glow Plug Circuit / Open causing the car to go into limp? When I get too 2000rpm it goes into limp and that code comes up on the scanner cheers

Hey mate, need some help.... Just replace camshaft sensor and cleared the code but it immediately comes back.... I have tried a PCM reset throw disconnecting the negative on battery and connecting a jumper between the pos and neg but the code comes back. Ford want to charge me $400 to reset it. Do i have any other options.....i have also tried a se ond sensor thinking the first may have been faulty
My traction control light is also coming on with the powertrain warning light will it be a faulty turbo actuator or boost pipe? Don't see any cracks on the boost pipe

@@abdautomotive I actually thought throttle pedal issue would only prevents acceleration and not starting. Well, I don't know if it's because it's a diesel powered engine. I also notice that once the P0341 comes up, the P2122 would accompany it. I've replaced this camshaft though but my truck still wouldn't start. AA thank you once again. I just confirmed that all the 4 injectors are spraying very well. Does it mean that without the right values from intake camshaft, injectors could still spray? Waiting for your response please.
@@OluwasijibomiMuyiwaBolan-ht1ub if all the injectors are spraying & you have replaced the cam sensor & still no start, it sounds like your motor has lost timing due potentially to a failed chain tensioner , i would remove the injector pump inspection cover & see if you can feel if the chain has tension on it.
@@abdautomotive thank you very much for your response. I've taken out, in fact the entire timing chain cover, just to be sure my timing isn't compromised but it's found intact. I will finish coupling today and try to crank again and if it doesn't start, we might need to conduct deliverance on the vehicle 🤣. This vehicle met all the conditions that's required to start a diesel engine. Unfortunately, I don't have any other known good vehicle of its kind that I could substitute for a parts. I will surely keep you posted after coupling, thank a bunch.
@@ZhettoI’m not sure on the alarm itself but replacing the intercooler hose on the cold side fixed the problem and cleared the fault automatically. $99 for the hose and 5 minutes to install.
Please help me, I have a 2015 3.2 ranger. I getting oil I'm the cooling system but no water in the oil. What's the fix for something like this. Where do I start with diagnostics.
Are you sure its engine oil? If you have an auto trans there is also a heat exchanger on the side of the trans much like the oil cooler where trans fluid and coolant could mix if it is damaged. You could check your trans fluid for coolant contamination. (Doesn't apply to manual trans).
Hy mate.. Can i ask something..? What about P2562 and P2563 error.. What will caused this error and do you have any idea maybe how to fix it.. I already change my electronic actuator(non original aftermarket parts) .. And even replaced my turbo (both of this solution was suggested by ford specialist) .. I even replace the intercooler piping and the intercooler itself.. But it still showing the error.. The problem occur when im staying on high rpm for a long time on level road, but the error will be much easier to come out when climbing a steep hill.. The car will enter the limp mode after this error come out.. I have to turn off the engine and turn back again, then the error will gone and i can drive normally after that.. I try to search any topic discussing this type of error online, but i cant find it... Im clueless right now as i having this error for 2 years now... Cant find the part that causing this type of error..
if you've replaced all those parts already and it's not helped, i would replace the map/boost sensor on the top of the intake, theres a chance it could be faulty.

hey mate mine goes into limp mode the spanner comes up when it's doing a dpf burn and only load up the engine, no codes and goes away when I turn off the car im thinking it's the egt sensor
@@rockyronz there are 9 different codes relating to the fuel temp sensor , starting at P0180 through to P0189, so as not to lead you in the wrong direction, i would need to know which one of these it is.
@@abdautomotive hey mate. My scanner not showing anything further. It's just showing that but the fuel gauge isn't showing the accurate fuel level. It's plays up. Going up and down. Maybe that should help out a little to point me to the right direction.

Hi can u maybe assist. My 3.2 ranger gets Los of power on a hill or towing a small trailer. No lights on the cluster gages comes on it shows nothing. But if u drive slow for a while it pulls only a few seconds then no power 🙏
Hi thanks I'd clean it very nicely its strange normal drive it's fine as soon as u put the voot down it only pulls for a few seconds then no power and if u keep the pedel down it starts chacking 🤔 no codes on display
@@panzerichi3837 , not about fuel pressure, your injectors fire direct into the cylinder , if the seats are leaking gases it will cause blow by and loss of compression.
G’day mate. My traction control and powertrain icons came up today on the way out of the city and was limping. Shut it down for a while. Turned it back on and it disappeared but I turned around to be safe. Weird that I smelled something perhaps some lining stuff but I’m no expert. Worth to note the EGR cooler was just replaced and had no warnings before it was released to me on Friday afternoon. Under 98K kms on the clock, 2.2L T6 RWD only. Any ideas ? Will mos def bring it back in next week. But this is the 2nd time in like 6mos.
@@abdautomotive P2291:00-28 Injector Control Pressure Too Low - Engine Cranking ; seems to be an issue with the fuel filter housing when they troubleshot it yesterday as it shows movement when engine is on (not sure how they saw/measured it) but they put a relatively new FF housing and will test it to isolate further.
Have a p0722 code throwing my car into limp mode sometimes and I clear the code and my traction light comes on until I restart my car It’s a 2014 3.2 litre XL AUTO transmission speed sensor Car drives fine other then when the traction light pops up, is my transmission due for a rebuild or is it maybe a faulty sensor, let me know your thoughts thank you
Just got a PX1 ranger with 250K recently. Been fine for the first month. Went to check fluid levels and found the coolant level low. Took 2L to top up to correct level. Next morning on the way to work after getting off the motorway it was into limp mode after some heavyish acceleration. Powertrain fault light flashed once and went out but stayed in limp mode. Pulled over, switched engine off and on and it was fine until I tried to accelerate hard again and went back into limp mode with brief flash of powertrain fault light. Happened again the next day. Won't do it if I take it easy. Coolant has gone back to low level and appears to stay there. Scanned the ecu and there are no fault codes. Any ideas?

@@dannomite123 does not sound like u have a coolant loss issue then, top it up to max & see what it does, as for the fault under load, to me this sounds like an intercooler or intercooler hose is cracked, very common issue, easy fix

scan with forscan , it will log the code
I have a similar issue, nothing on forscan. I have a feeling its the wiring on running over the timing cover

p2122 is a throttle/pedal position sensor, i've never heard of this problem before, but you could try changing the accelerator pedal

@@abdautomotive thank you very much for your response. I've taken out, in fact the entire timing chain cover, just to be sure my timing isn't compromised but it's found intact. I will finish coupling today and try to crank again and if it doesn't start, we might need to conduct deliverance on the vehicle 🤣.
This vehicle met all the conditions that's required to start a diesel engine. Unfortunately, I don't have any other known good vehicle of its kind that I could substitute for a parts. I will surely keep you posted after coupling, thank a bunch.

@@ZhettoI’m not sure on the alarm itself but replacing the intercooler hose on the cold side fixed the problem and cleared the fault automatically. $99 for the hose and 5 minutes to install.
Please help me, I have a 2015 3.2 ranger. I getting oil I'm the cooling system but no water in the oil. What's the fix for something like this. Where do I start with diagnostics.
sounds like your oil cooler has failed, it's part of the oil filter housing where the oil filter sits.
Are you sure its engine oil? If you have an auto trans there is also a heat exchanger on the side of the trans much like the oil cooler where trans fluid and coolant could mix if it is damaged. You could check your trans fluid for coolant contamination. (Doesn't apply to manual trans).

Hy mate.. Can i ask something..? What about P2562 and P2563 error.. What will caused this error and do you have any idea maybe how to fix it.. I already change my electronic actuator(non original aftermarket parts) .. And even replaced my turbo (both of this solution was suggested by ford specialist) .. I even replace the intercooler piping and the intercooler itself.. But it still showing the error.. The problem occur when im staying on high rpm for a long time on level road, but the error will be much easier to come out when climbing a steep hill.. The car will enter the limp mode after this error come out.. I have to turn off the engine and turn back again, then the error will gone and i can drive normally after that.. I try to search any topic discussing this type of error online, but i cant find it... Im clueless right now as i having this error for 2 years now... Cant find the part that causing this type of error..
if you've replaced all those parts already and it's not helped, i would replace the map/boost sensor on the top of the intake, theres a chance it could be faulty.

hey mate mine goes into limp mode the spanner comes up when it's doing a dpf burn and only load up the engine, no codes and goes away when I turn off the car
im thinking it's the egt sensor
it should be logging a code if it's going into limp mode, are you scanning with forscan?

@@rockyronz there are 9 different codes relating to the fuel temp sensor , starting at P0180 through to P0189, so as not to lead you in the wrong direction, i would need to know which one of these it is.
@@abdautomotive hey mate. My scanner not showing anything further. It's just showing that but the fuel gauge isn't showing the accurate fuel level. It's plays up. Going up and down. Maybe that should help out a little to point me to the right direction.

But if u drive slow for a while it pulls only a few seconds then no power 🙏

Hi thanks I'd clean it very nicely its strange normal drive it's fine as soon as u put the voot down it only pulls for a few seconds then no power and if u keep the pedel down it starts chacking 🤔 no codes on display
When my Intercooler pipe cracked, I got no codes/lights just very low power.
I'd check your hose/pipe from intercooler to throttle.
I have the same issue now, no codes if it cools down for a bit then the boost is back.
Can limp mode make no compression in multiple cylinders? I know it can mess with timing but 4 cylinders out of 6😅please help
no, sounds like your injector seats need replacing

@@panzerichi3837 , not about fuel pressure, your injectors fire direct into the cylinder , if the seats are leaking gases it will cause blow by and loss of compression.
G’day mate. My traction control and powertrain icons came up today on the way out of the city and was limping. Shut it down for a while. Turned it back on and it disappeared but I turned around to be safe. Weird that I smelled something perhaps some lining stuff but I’m no expert. Worth to note the EGR cooler was just replaced and had no warnings before it was released to me on Friday afternoon. Under 98K kms on the clock, 2.2L T6 RWD only. Any ideas ? Will mos def bring it back in next week. But this is the 2nd time in like 6mos.

@@abdautomotive P2291:00-28 Injector Control Pressure Too Low - Engine Cranking ; seems to be an issue with the fuel filter housing when they troubleshot it yesterday as it shows movement when engine is on (not sure how they saw/measured it) but they put a relatively new FF housing and will test it to isolate further.

different part number as the 3.2 runs a different turbo, altho the parts looks identical not sure if it will work.

@@abdautomotive it turned out to be the top dfp sensor had fallen out causing the dpf and pressure reading to go out of wack.

Just got a PX1 ranger with 250K recently. Been fine for the first month. Went to check fluid levels and found the coolant level low. Took 2L to top up to correct level. Next morning on the way to work after getting off the motorway it was into limp mode after some heavyish acceleration. Powertrain fault light flashed once and went out but stayed in limp mode. Pulled over, switched engine off and on and it was fine until I tried to accelerate hard again and went back into limp mode with brief flash of powertrain fault light. Happened again the next day. Won't do it if I take it easy. Coolant has gone back to low level and appears to stay there. Scanned the ecu and there are no fault codes. Any ideas?

@@abdautomotive no. It just sits about 2cms below the Min mark on the reservoir
@@dannomite123 does not sound like u have a coolant loss issue then, top it up to max & see what it does, as for the fault under load, to me this sounds like an intercooler or intercooler hose is cracked, very common issue, easy fix
