  • You don’t need the basic 8 1/2 -by-11 folded papers for your junk journal page signatures. Why not glue together junk mail, book pages, and other larger scraps from your bin into a long scroll of paper - creating a sort of FrankenPage - then let the individual cuts fall where they may? That’s what I did here, and I’m delighted with the cobbled-together look of it all.

Note that in the first episode, I mention that I was doing a podcast because I didn’t think I had enough ideas for a UA-cam channel. Things (happily) went a different way, so ummm, never mind on that!

This is great! It’s refreshing to see someone doing a journal with only junk. I have nothing against digitals but this is truly a junk journal. This is fun, I’ll definitely be making one. Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for this kind thought! I have a weird relationship with digitals myself. I admire the artists who make and sell them, but somehow, at least for me, a journal with a lot of digitals ends up looking like something anyone else can make. I like individuality, even when it's kooky! Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!

What an amazing journal! This would be so great to do as an early introduction to junk journaling with kids or seniors crafting classes. No stress, not much expense, and random ephemera that has been created to learn to the process. WOW! ❤😊
I REALLY liked the flippy pad sewn to the page. I just love watching to learn and be inspired by you. My friend and I are working together weekly creating a journal. I learn and practice from watching you, Natasha, Gayle, etc. , then I teach her how to make. We are having a ball 🎉❤😊. Thanks for all you share.

At 8:17 when you glued the not so liked paper to the pink envelope-did you notice how the heart in the flowery paper joined the line in the pink paper? It ended up being on a fold I think. But that was cool. And I kinda liked the flowery paper (70’s flare?).
Amazing that you ended up with just the right length of paper - what are the chances when you’re gluing odds and ends together?!?
This is a very interesting idea/completed journal.
I noticed you switched the flowers out in the flower pot (or made a new one?). Looked very nice.
I have yet to create but I do ponder quite a bit (surprise!!?!) and I’ve wondered about window envelopes placed here and there in pages where you see the next page. This would do that.
The Amazon packing and other print from the printed junk mail worked out quite cool with how you left and embellished it.
Still can’t believe it was just the right length!
The intermittent stitching, especially in the piece of paper you don’t quite like turned out very unique and flattered the pages.
Lots of detail showed up in “new” ways. Aren’t you glad you tried this? Wonder what else you’ll do with this creative page option.
Oh yeah, fabric tape. How cool is that!!!
And so quickly done. Which highlights my (unnecessary) procrastination!! 😂
My dryer, washer and dishwasher play those kinds of tunes. One day they went off either on top or in close proximity of each other. My son hadn’t heard this before since he visits and doesn’t live here. But it gave him a good chuckle. And I have a pill wheel which would signal as well, not sing but signal) so sometimes it’s quite melodic to noisy here! And bells on the door which the little dog knew right away to ring when he wanted out.
    Okay ‘nuff rambling.
Enjoyed watching, learning and pondering! Thanks. ❤
