What was your parent's daily driver that you remember the most as a child? Maybe the one you took on family road trips. Mine was our 1990 Chevy Suburban that finally replaced the 72 SkyLark.
Growing up in El Salvador, we had a Datsun 620 wagon in yellow, can't remember what year it was though. It was manual with a column shifter and it was awesome, that thing would go just about anywhere. That was the first car that I actually drove by myself, followed by a bunch of VW Buses and a Ford courier (the bed on that thing was hanging in for dear life! 😂)
The two cars I remember growing up the first car I ever drove at 7 years old sitting on my father's lap of cost was a 4 door 69 Chevelle and we had a 73 Chevy wagon too

I absolutely love this type of repairing paint scratches. I'm a 72 y.o. car guy from Ca. I have owned countless cars over the decades. (Motorcycles too) For many years I have been polishing out superficial scratches on my vehicle. At first, I bought a regular rubbing compound, a bad idea. About 20 years ago I had a neighbor that was the body shop manager at a Ford dealer and he smuggled out a bottle of pro polishing compound, magic. Along with quality was, of course. When you made your initial assesments of what damage would require bodywork and repainting, I knew that you were wrong about what that could be done with a polisher and whatever else they chose for media and waxes. In the last year, I bought a 6.5" polisher and held my breath. Surprise! It's not that difficult to use. UA-cam has lots of instructional videos. Currently, I own a 2006 CTS Sport/Luxury with 85K on it that looks like new. If I get a scratch or scuff, no big deal. Recently I bought a 3" polisher for getting into tight areas and love it. I do have to say that your wife's Escalade is simply stunning. For 30K, you really scored. Well done!
