Some ten years ago they walked the streets like ordinary guys here in Stockholm. A friend of mine said hello to them and said she really liked their videos they put on YT. They got overwhelmed and said “You really liked it? Thanks!”
I’m glad that Matt finally got to hear this tune and give his two cents about Aron’s playing. But not just that, all the other observations and comments were great too. There is a berimbau running in the background, adding to the rhythm and texture, and that Latin flavour. And yeah, hearing this for the second time, it can be such a different experience from hearing it the first time. I’ve got that CD, it’s in my car stereo, and honestly every time I listen to their tracks something new pops up for me…. Especially when you can’t watch the vid, only listen. Dirty Loops seem like an octopus with three or four arms, but only one head. The different instrumental parts fit together so well. Aron not only plays some amazingly clean and powerful drums, he also co-writes a lot of the tunes (like that catchy one-note chorus ;), most of Henrik’s bass parts, some of the lyrics, as well as doing all of Dirty Loops’ video editing. He’s also composing works for orchestra now. Check out their ‘Songs For Lovers’-series. Four instrumental tracks (no vocals), a side project of Aron and Henrik’s, whilst Jonah was busy recording a solo album. All four tracks are dope. “Coffee Break Is Over” is one of them. Matt has to be on board with those :) Thanks 👍🙏
Great reaction, looking forward to more Dirty Loops, try anything else of their stuff - you just can´t go wrong which ever you choose, all different, all brilliant life affirming music - with humor & technical excellence
I’m so glad that you brought Matt in on this one. This is one of my favorites that you’ve done. I do love a bit of jazz now and then. They are incredible and you two are so kind to do this one again. It makes my drizzly day better!!

Yes - great with a retake with Matt! Looking forward to more Dirty Loops from you while counting the days my next live concert with them in November! You can watch those videos so many time and see/hear new things each time...
Most of the musicians who react to their videos most of the time end up saying "hit me" is their favorite song after listening to soo many. It is their most underrated song and is still my favorite our of their many great songs.
I just seen them in Denver in April, im 51 been going to concerts since i was 12 and without a doubt these 3 dudes are some of the best musicians I've ever seen. And I've seen all the god's, Eddie Van halen, Steve Vai, dream theater, Al dimeola, Chick Corea, Victor Wooten im telling you these guys are so good you don't even wanna play your instrument anymore after watching them live.
Whoaaa! That’s a tall order, comparing these dudes with all those other greats. And that’s a great concert list, too, Al Di Meola, Chick Corea….🔥👍🔥 So good to hear that Dirty Loops are holding up to that! ☺️✌️🤘☺️
Was at the same show. I'm also 50, and also a constant concert junkie (I was at Megadeth tonight). I agree, Dirty Loops is one of my top of all time, the energy at the concert was top notch.
That thing of Aron writing the bass lines is obviously the exception. It has to do with who is the main writer of the respective song, and who takes the lead in arranging it. Apparently Aron also did the jaw-dropping gospel choir arrangement on Next To You, (although Jonah's execution of it is even more impressive). But remember these guys are classically trained to the highest level, and read and write music like we read and write text. They can easily convey their ideas without necessarily knowing how to play every instrument.
Yeah honestly we all know if they really wanted to put in the time they could all play each other's roles they are such an equal brotherhood of epic talent I love them all
Even though I really enjoyed this... I did get a little annoyed at times and was thinking "you've already seen it and had your reaction to it, let the percussionist in the room experience it without all the added noise" but I know how damn hard it is not to be even more excited seeing this the second time around ❤ because I've seen every single reaction on YT of it and also watched the actual video many times with all DL's other content and still can't sit still seeing it. I am a drummer myself so I can never sit still anyways😂😢. Thanks for the great video👍✌
I kinda think youll want Matt in on future ones too, but i had no issues warching this twice in this way so you could also do the future ones twice ahahah
Oh, I loved your first reaction and recognise the urge to share good music to a friend. Great fun to follow your run down Dirty Loops lane. I know you have a bunch of videos with DL lined up. Hope that the song "Breakdown" is a part of them. The song is a bit different from their other stuff but soooo good. And since I noticed that you're suckers for mics the video is a must... 🙂 Love from Sweden....
Best piece by the best band, best reaction too. I've only followed Dirty Loops since -21 (though I'm a Sweden, shame on me). This song got me started, I can listen to it five times in a row. Still. And such Great Guys. You guys are great, too. Thank you.
Aaron does writing and arranging for an orchestra in Stockholm. You can see some of this work on UA-cam. He definitely has arranged some of the bass parts in Dirty Loops.
Love you folks. 😊. I have a question for you two. When you get settled down in New home. Go to the other part of arizona.and check out the. Are military plane bone yards. They give tours. . It is 10.15 in Michigan. And it is 97. Ahhh. 😢.
It was on Rick Beato's channel where Henrick said for this song Aaron had written the drum parts and had the opening bass line, it's not common practice though. Jonah and Aaron were pretty clear Henrick has the string section more than covered.
I don't know if they record the audio live when they record the video, although I don't think so. But whether they do or not, there are additional parts in the recording, including timbales. They're not playing everything you're hearing live.
I think the studio recording isn’t done live, it’s done in stages, at different venues even. And often Henrik adds his part the last, trying to add bits which complement the others’ playing. They’ve commented though on having to learn their riffs, fills and solos all over again for the video, to match their playing on camera (even in their improvs), with their playing on the recording. And they gave credit to each other for getting it right, often note by note…. They also have Andreas Eckstedt, a top Swedish percussionist, playing on many of their tracks. He’s an expert in Latin percussion playing, and my guess is that he’s playing some berimbau here in the background. Must check out timbale tho, not familiar with it. 👍
Aron does not exactly "write the bass parts" for Henrik, if I am correct. From what I understand, they will compose crazy insane synchronized drum and bass fills together which are quite often Aron's rhythmic creation adapted into bass notes for Henrik. I'm pretty sure I have that right because let's face it....Henrik does not need any help playing the bass!
See, we thought the same. Why would Henrik need a writer? But soooo many people said otherwise about Aron. We need to dig more, just for good measure. Thank you!!
GAFFER - The swedish King Karl Gustaf ahhahahahahahahahahahaha PERSONAL JESUS - "trädkramaren = treehugger" from the US tour 2014 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 DIETITIAN - Jabba the hut 🤣🤣
You guys are going down a rabbit hole from which you will never escape. You WILL watch every one of their videos, and your mind will be blown. Every time. Their newest song is “Run Away.” Prepare to be rendered speechless.
I understand you're blown away by Dirty Loops. Let me present to you the 80s / 90s version of that musician's magnet : UZEB : music.ua-cam.com/video/ybne7LcJuQM/v-deo.html First time I saw them live, the room is 90% full of musicians. And there was no youtube at the time ... Those guys blew me away, as much as Dirty Loops do today. The three musicians shared their instruments (and a synth) through MIDI. music.ua-cam.com/video/LNTk2OqhNKY/v-deo.html (don't go away 'til you've heard the bass solo). I postulate UZEB were Dirty Loops parents. :-D
It's Wednesday right!?! Doesn't that mean you should be doing The Warning and showing Matt the Drummer Dust to Dust or Queen of the Murder Scene from the Metropolitan Theater in Mexico City!?!?
Hey there! Happy Warning Wednesday!!! Hopefully you saw earlier that we re-released the entire Teatro Met CDMX concert on our Patreon for free!! Had a little schedule trouble with our move, but more Warning coming soooonn!!
Some ten years ago they walked the streets like ordinary guys here in Stockholm. A friend of mine said hello to them and said she really liked their videos they put on YT. They got overwhelmed and said “You really liked it? Thanks!”
Wow, what a story….
Yeah I’m with your friend, I really like the videos they’ve put out on YT. Can’t stop listening to them ☺️✌️👍
Watching people getting their mind blown by Dirty Loops never gets old. :D
I've had Dirty Loops on power rotation for the last two years. I can't get enough of these guys, they're ridiculous.
I’m glad that Matt finally got to hear this tune and give his two cents about Aron’s playing. But not just that, all the other observations and comments were great too.

Apparently, Aron, writes the complex bass lines for most of the playing, There are several interviews with the guys and this is mentioned clearly.
Dirty Loops performed live at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe on April 15, 2024.
ON NO!! We just missed them by two months. Arrgghh!!!!
Yeah we will be sure to catch them next time around

Thank you, friend!! We'll definitely react to "Breakdown" soon - thanks for the tip on the mics, you know we love those easter eggs!! ;-)
You need to check out Dirty Loops ,,, Song for Lovers ,, Coffee Break is Over ,, You need to have your Drummer Buddy with you !!!
Coffee Break is Over is phenomenal
I like Matt, he knows his shit! (😆) It's been great to follow your journey having done so myself over a few years now. Awesome!

Wait til you see their new video, “Run Away.” Your heads will explode.
I can't wait!!! I want my head to explode!! 🤯 ❤️🥷
loved!
Well, since you dipped your toe here maybe you should check out Snarky Puppy Lingus. A drummer/keyboard masterpiece.
💯dirty loops are amazing, but lingus is from another universe.
Aaron does writing and arranging for an orchestra in Stockholm. You can see some of this work on UA-cam. He definitely has arranged some of the bass parts in Dirty Loops.
Don’t miss their other project called: Songs for lovers
This is one of the amazing songs:

Thanks very much, Johnny!!! Our friend Melli sponsored a few "Songs for Lovers" songs, and we can't wait. Coming soon, friend!!!
You should do Thriller next with all the horns!! Killer song.

The keyboard solo is quite similar to snarky puppy - lingus. Still so amazing.
Please, listen to Next to you. Or really wichever song of theirs - they are all exceptional 👊
We have SIX more Dirty Loops jams lined up. This will be fun!! 🤩
Check out world on fire, crazy bass solo.
World On Fire is nuts!
Thank you and will do!!!
Henrik does many of his bass lines, but Aron writes a lot of them. Iam the guy that spoke to them backstage in New York. Ambassador Jenks
It was on Rick Beato's channel where Henrick said for this song Aaron had written the drum parts and had the opening bass line, it's not common practice though. Jonah and Aaron were pretty clear Henrick has the string section more than covered.
Makes perfect sense!

He DOES sound like Stevie Wonder!
Dirty Loops are your favorite band's favorite band
Right?!!? LOVE this!
So they obviously had our swedish king, Carl Gustaf XVI as gaffer 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😍😍😍

They’ve said they do their own production and arrangements even though it has Q’s stamp on it

Ahhh. THANK YOU!!!

They are great in the studio, but I saw them life in the Seul Jazz Festival a few years ago and it was a disappointment.
Why???
