Check out their cover of “Thriller” in a collab with rhythm guitarist Cory Wong, or Jonah’s cover of “Bad” from his solo album. Everything these guys do is top shelf. Aron, one of the nastiest drummers out there, also heavily co-writes Dirty Loops’ songs, including some of the lyrics, choruses, verses, and even most of Henrik’s badass bass lines. AND he does all the visual editing of their videos! Henrik is a beast on bass, and although he doesn’t get a designated bass solo on this track, he does 8n o,entry of their other ones, or at lest gets to shine. He’s an insane bassist! And Jonah? The MJ comparison is just that, I find, a comparison. And whilst MJ is a big influence in his singing, there are many other ones, too… still, his vocals are amazing and his vocal riffs the stuff of legends 🤘not to mention his chops on the keyboard(s) :D Simon Petrén mixes and masters their tracks ✨⭐️✨🤘👍 Glad you found them, and thanks to whoever suggested them to you. They’re currently touring the US, and must be totally 🔥 live as well!
Oh yeah, and Henrik plays his fretless six string Mattisson bass here. Check out his interview on Bass Magazine Songified, where he talks a bit about the writing, playing and recording of this song (and the other tracks from this album) 👍
Welcome to the family of DL. You have a lot to discover in a sea of musicianship. A lovely mix of everything you will be entertained whatever you choose. 💯🇸🇪👍
When Quincy Jones had an anniversary and out together a dream team to play Billie Jean he had Jona Nilssen from Dirty Loops on lead :) Just search for Quincy Jones Billie Jean
"It's seven and a half minute, and I want a lot more of that." Yes! Exactly. They always leave you wanting more. Lovely first reaction to Dirty Loops. Thank you.
Dirty Loops is my favorite band ever. I'm in my 70's, and I've seen a few, but nothing with the scope, creativity and skills that they have. Hope you react to lots more, including their latest, Run Away. You ain't seen nothing yet. (Their manager - Quincy Jones - has commented that Jonah has the best range out there.) They are still in the US on tour - you may have a chance to see them. Tickets are cheap. Next tour they won't be. By then people will know.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. This band will constantly surprise you. Check out their latest drop "run away" to hear the bassist featured in a completely different style (80s rock anthem), and time travel back to one of their earlier pieces "coffee break is over" for a crazy instrumental rocker. These guys always seem to be having fun.
Breakdown is a sleeper. One of their best tracks, it's so smoky sexy and sultry, the vocal gymnastics, the killer fills from the bass and drums, the key modulation near the end, it's one of their most mature tracks.
Don't miss their really technical pieces: * Turbo (with Cory Wong) - ua-cam.com/video/tjaLOk1_aRg/v-deo.html * Coffee Break Is Over - ua-cam.com/video/aYYFmp9NBTk/v-deo.html * Bitten by the Kitten - ua-cam.com/video/FjFnPVHoqKY/v-deo.html * Old Armando Had a Farm - ua-cam.com/video/V9zZ_Mrt0Hg/v-deo.html
I'm a So Cal guy. BTW, be sure to catch their ending Credits for some Easter Eggs for some extra fun. They list Jabba the Hut as their Dietician on one track!
Someone turned me onto these guys around 2012. I've been promoting them since. I've always described them as musician's musicians. Take in 10 of their most viewed tracks, you'll love it all. Also, you mentioned something about the engineering of it, and I believe the drummer is the one responsible for all of that.
Yeah, they deserve any bit of promotion they can get! Not sure tho about the sound engineering being done by Aron (drums), although he’s pretty instrumental in the writing of their songs, even the lyrics, choruses (like that one-note chorus here) and verses, and even writing many of Henrik’s bass lines. He also does all the visual editing of their music videos :) Sound engineer/mixer/master is another Swedish music genius, Simon Petrén.
Welcome to the Dirty Loops rabbit hole… enjoy your stay. Discovered by Quincy Jones Another of his discoveries is Jacob Collier… try reacting to his version of PYT.
Zack!!! First exposure to DL? woo-hoo! They are musicians, top tier. Yes, genre-benders, they are so good. My favs include Follow the Light, Next to You, lots to chose from. EDIT: I believe Jonah does all the mastering and as you'll note, layers his vocals. The bass, drums, everything is top tier... oh yea, I already said that. 😉😜
Okay, now the fun really starts for you as you get to discover more Dirty Loops. Hope you might react to more Dirty Loops in the future. As an MJ fan you might want to check out "Thriller". You will not be disappointed!
WHAT? You didn't know Dirty loops? They are really all badass musicians, as you can tell. I like more their jazz/fusion tracks (such as this one) than their more poppy tunes, but their are still very good. I went to see them in concert and they had a 4th musician on stage doing all the backing synths and voices. They collaborated with Cory Wong some time ago and they did with him a jazzified version of Thriller, you will see that the MJ comparison is not unjustified.
Their work with Cory Wong is incredible (Turbo, Follow the Light, Ring of Saturn). And the stuff wtih just Henrik and Aron (Songs for Lovers) is great. I've had Dirty Loops on power rotation for the past two years.
If you check out more of their stuff (which you definitely should) you'll find out why Jonahs singing often is compared to Michael Jackson. He sometimes gives you MJ vibes, sometimes Stevie Wonder. This track is more "just Jonah" which is just as awesome for me. Best thing about Dirty Loops is that they give you some new surprises each time you hear them. So feel free to pick another song - they're all amazing! :-)
Glad you liked this! I am certain you will eventually comment a bit more on Henrik. He is a rather decent bass player! You won't find another Dirty Loops song like Work shit out, but the same can more or less be said about all their songs. For you, I think it feels like "Rock you" could be a good next step into the DL world. Notice the composition in it, how they keep tension, and keep us interested. Not that I know what I am talking about, but anyhow! Perhaps also notice the quality of the recording.
i love your reaction to this song, it's a surprise of another dimension.... they are so good, and we can see it on your face, the smile that sneaks up is a little surprising. can it be this good!!!! of course, then it grows.
Naw naw you have to listen to hit me . One of the best dirty loops songs. Crazy talent crazy chords crazy vocals. One of thee best vocal runs of all time in that song. Not joking.
Tnx for a nice reaction, Moore DL, If you love MJ you must react to DL cover of Thriller, it’s , epic✨ (Quincy jones are DLs manager). I also recommend a song from Jonah’s solo album “diamond ring” that song could have fitted in one of MJs album😁
Just an uncertain note; it seems that on their latest song, Run away, they manage themselves, and published it through their own label. Totally not certain about it.
I like the comment you gave about this being a 7.30 minute song, and still feeling like you want more. I feel the exact same. That song could easily have been twice as long.
I love 1st reactions to DL and I really like this here. You are a bit late to the party but not too late ;-) Btw... if you´re into drums check out Yoyoka a world class drummer from Japan. She is 14 now but she´s drumming since she was a little child - one of the best drummers out there now!!! And check out "Lovebites" too, all girl/woman metal band from Japan, much better that bandmaid imho...
I’ve been watching these guys for years. If you want to hear a singer at their level, look up Dimash and a song called SOS, you will be shocked. Also checkout a bassist named Charles Berthoud. Both these will amaze you!!
I had the pleasure of working with Cory Wong a few years ago…. beast. Check out the song “You with Me” by the band “Hit Machine” (Portland). It’s all Cory
Heh, if you're a big MJ fan, you've _seriously_ gotta check out Thriller. They do it to a swung 6/8 shuffle, and it's _so good_ that the original sounds incomplete afterward. Plus if you didn't notice at the end here... \*ahem* Quincy Jones is their producer. Yeah.
You mention the production. First - and the band has clarified this on several occasions - they are lip synching and miming here. Sounds impossible, right? The drummer, Aron, does the video production and editing. He, of course, has the toughest job playing drums to match the audio track. According to bassist Henrick, Aaron also comes up with a lot of the bass parts. That is possibly why the bass and drums are so in sych with each other. The band is managed by Qunicy Jones Productions. Prior to that, David Foster was involved. It would be great to see them as guests on a major show like the Grammys, where they would be seen by a large and diverse audience. They would certainly put a lot of the lo-called 'great' bands in their places.
Looking for more similar insane stuff like that?! Search for "Valeriy Stepanov" and his Jaco Pastorius cover version of "The Chicken"! Disapointment impossible ;-)
Sounds terrible. The bpm is way too fast and there's no time signature shuffle to the drum patterns and it sounds like generic gospel pop. Ugh. Sorry, just being honest. lmao.
Try this great take on Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. The Loops are joined by funk guitarist Cory Wong and his horn section. The two were filmed separately and then edited together. Clever. ua-cam.com/video/m34byl2BT1o/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DirtyLoops
Next to you, Rock you, Follow the light, Thriller.. all excellent next steps in your Dirty Loops journey!
Breakdown.
Run away, Turbo... and the fun songs generated by the side project Songs for lovers.
Check out their cover of “Thriller” in a collab with rhythm guitarist Cory Wong, or Jonah’s cover of “Bad” from his solo album.
Everything these guys do is top shelf.

Great reaction!

Great reaction Zack! React to Dirty Loops "Next To You"
"It's seven and a half minute, and I want a lot more of that." Yes! Exactly. They always leave you wanting more.

They are currently touring the US with only three shows left. If you can-go see them. They are just as ridiculously good live!😊
Welcome to the rabbit hole. This band will constantly surprise you. No surprises in Run away, are there now, like a four armed monster of sorts, haha?
The pride of Sweden!! These guys are awesome!!! Great react, greets from Sweden 🙂
I say not only MJ, but Stevie Wonder as well.
It's allegedly the singer's greatest inspiration, more so than MJ. Their Thriller version is like SW singing MJ.
SW is somehow a dual-homed spirit, living in two bodies at once
Some of their deeper cuts: Breakdown, Coffee break is over, Undo, Accidentally in Love
Accidentally in Love is fantastic!!!!!
Breakdown is a sleeper. One of their best tracks, it's so smoky sexy and sultry, the vocal gymnastics, the killer fills from the bass and drums, the key modulation near the end, it's one of their most mature tracks.

Once again, you da man! Great reaction! Thanks for shout-out! TAQ pronounced TACK is correct. And, old baseball player nickname!
I'm a So Cal guy. BTW, be sure to catch their ending Credits for some Easter Eggs for some extra fun. They list Jabba the Hut as their Dietician on one track!
Also a socal guy! North County Poway in the HOUSE!
Word of the day: "tack" in Swedish means "thank you", or "thanks". It's pronounced tuck (like brother Tuck in Robin Hood).
Someone turned me onto these guys around 2012. I've been promoting them since. I've always described them as musician's musicians. Take in 10 of their most viewed tracks, you'll love it all. More Dirty Loops please! Your life will improve from now on. So much greatness to discover!
I’ve probably watched every reaction to this song, and your’s is in my top three! Incredible analysis!!
They covered thriller its epic its a collaboration full on brass with them
Fellow AZ musician! Love it. Next to you is an actual masterpiece, it’ll change your perspective on music.
Now that's how you play a six-string bass.
...and fretless as well.

You're in for a long treat, with this guys. They can be extremt virtuos in a song but at the same time it can be a hit song
Welcome! All of the other suggestions are great, but also check out Snarky Puppy if you haven't. Another deep rabbit hole of incredible musicianship.
More DL please!

Yep 👍😱
the bass-player is out of this world
Wow!
Your favorite band listens to Dirty Loops on their days off

"Cats 'n dogs 'n dolphins 'n sh*t" XD
The Warning, and now Dirty Loops?? Catch Spiritbox and Dayseeker and you will have hit all my current favorites!
Aron is the king of the snare rolls!
Aron Also writes most of the Bass parts!
Zack was shoked! Lol
Great reaction!
So good!
well listen to , just dance, thriller, rock you....just to put you on the road.

Henrik Linder, the Melter of Faces.
You MUST do a reaction to "Run Away" by Dirty Loops. You will not be disappointed!!!
Saw them in 2022, the same year I saw Jacob Collier, Corey Wong, Fearless Flyers and Scary Pockets. That was a good orgasmic year💯
Follow the Light, Thriller would be great next reactions. Dirty Loops is a trip and a half.
Henrik is a BEST on bass. Beautiful 6 string fretless bass.
You’re gonna want to check out Snarky Puppy - Lingus (We Like it Here)
Simply a Master piece, too bad you need to understand why.
💙💛
Thriller .. DLoops w/ Cory Wong (Wulfpeck)
с таким же успехом, комментатор в конце видео мог сказать "кирпич"
Rabbit hole alert :.)

You should do their Thriller cover. I get the MJ comparisons, but he reminds more of Stevie Wonder.

Quincy Jones Production sums it up
All this reactions people always say, “it’s the first time I hear this”. Really? Of course not. It’s good to get more viewers and likes.
No, sir. This was the first time I heard of them. Otherwise (as in some videos) I will be very clear if I have.
5:39 He's more MJ meets Stevie Wonder, leaning toward Stevie.
Looking for more similar insane stuff like that?! Search for "Valeriy Stepanov" and his Jaco Pastorius cover version of "The Chicken"! Disapointment impossible ;-)

Would love to subscribe, but to much talk thru the video. Somes ok.
No biggie, you dont have to. I always link the original if you dont like talking. It's a reaction channel. I talk.
