Dirty Loops are unbelievable. You will not find a tighter, more creative, more musically gifted three-piece in the world. A band that takes their craft very seriously, but themselves not at all. They are literally in a league of their own, and super nice people on top of it.
@@musikbyjh They sound live great. Seeing them five times live and they are getting better and better. Don'' t expect the same as their studio versions because that is produced from live pieces. They have an extra keyboard player to fill up the harmony and the extra's. I am sure you get smiles from ear te ear with goosebumps.
Henrik Linder plays 6 string bass. About the bass there, yes the E string has a 2 fret extension to D so the glue vise acts like a capo. The tuner for that string actually sits at the back of the body behind the bridge, and that is actually a Hipshot D-tuner, so the E- string can actually drop down to C. He plays the bass and guitar parts at the same time
Fantastic comment - THANK YOU for telling us what in the hell is actually going on with that bass. LOL!!! Loved this so much - the musicianship first (of course), following by their wicked sense of humor. ;-)
"If I could tell you what's happening I would." Right 😅 Henrik on some next level shit! Love how attentive you are, noticing all the small (and big) details. You just get them. Great, great fun! And ridiculously awesome musicianship, of course.
@@musikbyjh Indeed! Btw, if you wanna hear Henrik's breakdown of Run Away, check out the interview with him by Bryan Frazier titled "Ep. 67: Dirty Loops Bassist Henrik Linder ("Run Away" Breakdown)". Worth a listen!
Yep, melli rocks! Thanks a bunch for making this reaction possible 🙏 And man, was it fun to see you both with goosebumps, tears in your eyes and the whole gamut from disbelief to joy… Henrik rocking the splits, the extra arms, the fake double necked bass with cigarette mounted to the headstock, Aron with tights and headband, and Jonah in his glitter jacket and shades, is Dirty Loops on a whole new level 🤣 I think they had so much fun in making this vid. The recording of it though was a very different process. The idea for the song started way back in 2015 with Aron and Henrik. Henrik talks about it in a recent interview on the YT channel ‘Journey to the Stage’. Then there is the Rick Beato interview with all three of them, -super interesting. There’s a lot of production in this recording, yet Henrik does all of the playing except some passages which were played on keys/synth. And he can pull it off live too - in a slightly different version tho adapted to live playing. After this track came out he’s been called Henrik Van Halen, even Van Alien :) The credits refer amongst other things to his ‘tatoo’ on his fake hand, spelling ARON, who basically wrote the song, conceived of those two bass breaks ‘with a lot of noise, where the verses should be’ (Henrik). Aron also did most of the final production on it. They also mention the beat boxer, some questionable figure from Swedish political life, amongst other things. I think, often these are more insider jokes known to Swedes. And yes, there was a big string section involved, although not sure where. In another reaction video of Run Away, someone pointed out Aron’s insane drumming on this track 🔥 This is the first release from their new, upcoming album. Henrik mentioned that the next one is due later this month. Fingers crossed, I can’t wait! ☺️
This has got to be an over the top, tongue in cheek homage to 80s era arena rock bands.

I just have to say I love your Dirty Loops reactions! It feels so authentic. ❤And you're so fun and entertaining. And hey, you just have to be amazed by DL. ❤
Such a great compliment, Dianne. Thank you!! We love this channel for this very reason - being exposed to music that otherwise, we would not have known about. Melli's the champ for recommending these incredibly men!!!
In my opinion, there are two ways to interpret the “four arms” on the bass: 1) “I can do with two hands what would take you four.” 2) it’s a tribute to Aron, who writes much of Henrik’s bass lines. This is supported by the “Aron” written on one of the fake hands at the beginning. This your favorite band’s favorite band. 👍
Awesome reaction guys! And when you move on you know you’re into something you didn’t saw coming.. “Next to you” is absolutely epic. Epic! And the hit song “Hit me” from 2014 still blows everyone away. Also fun to see their start with covers some 14 years ago, the most listen to being Justin Biebers “Baby”. That’s when I started to follow them and it’s incredible how good they were even back then. Those three are my absolute recommendations to go on with. And after that there’s so much more. Like Jonah’s solo project “Diamond Ring” with Steve Vai as guest with an incredible solo.
Agree to all of the above. Next to You is a masterpiece and my favourite song but they’re all mind blowing. I mean just check out what they did to the Samsung ring tone! Wish it was on Spotify, I’d have it on my playlist.
Of all Dirty Loops reactions I have seen (its a lot of them) I must say that your reactions are one of the best. Your positive energy jumps all the way to Sweden and give me positive energy. Thanks for that! I love Jeremy's music nerdy way of talking and Jillian who knows music more than she thinks she can. I almoset wish I were sitting in the same room as you when you make your next reaction. If you want to experience something calmer from DL - make a reaction to "breakdown". In that song jonah takes his highest note ever, Bb5. If you want something with more go, you have "Rock You" to make a reaction to. My English is bad, so I must apologize just in case. 😅 Take care! // Sara
WOW, Sara!!!!! Thank you for this incredibly kind and thoughtful comment. You made our day!!!! And your English is SUPERB - thank you very much for the smiles today ;-) And PS: we noted your two suggestions and will record these soon, my friend!
Real musicians do still exist. Superior! Been following these guys since I first heard them on youtube 10 years ago. To see the reaction from first-time viewers is priceless.
In an interview Henrik said that Aron - the drummer - actually wrote the bass lines, leaving Henrik to figure out how to play them. First, for the video, and then figure out how to play them live . Probably why Aron's name is on the bloody fingers of one of the stunt hands.... but that part is just my guess.
It felt a little funky to me. I’m glad you pointed out so much because I would have missed it. This was so awesome!!! 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks for this, Melli, on a sleepy Tuesday!! I think you two were a bit gobsmacked…was there a key change, or am I going nuts? 🥜Matt needs to see this for sure!! 🎶 Cyd
Na, there was a key change, Cynthia ☺️ Henrik talks about it in detail on his interview with Bryan Frazier, on ‘Journey to the Stage’. They’ve sneaked it in, in a covert kinda way ;)

You're absolutely right - you can't compare their songs because each one is it's own - and each one is a gem! There's an interview with Henrik where he explains some of the settings he uses for this song in the last about 4 minutes of the interview. "DIRTY LOOPS Fractal Bass Tour with Henrik Linder"
I like watching YOU like THEM. Great reaction to these guys... as usual. Wait 'til you get to "Turbo." Even for THEM it's insane! Between their skill and their humor, how can you NOT love 'em??!!
Dang, they were here in the US earlier this year. We saw them in Salt Lake City. It was one of the very best shows I have ever seen. To see them do this live is amazing.
I think it's great that you guys have cottoned on to the subtle jibes in the credits, the studio stuff they do, also has all sorts of fun pranks going on. I've watched so many reactions where the commentators are trying to work out the amp set ups, not realising of course, that this is Dirty Loops, all you see is not neccessarily what you get. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for the nice comment, Peter!!! I wish we could take credit - it was only because of the help from everyone commenting that got us smart on the DL trickery. Not sure if you caught our first-ever video (Work Sh*t Out), but before we knew about DL, Jeremy was definitely confused about the gear. Now we know, and LOVE IT!!! Hope to see you back!
I listened and watched again. You said something about Eddie Van Halen and what came to mind was the song Jump. It had a lot of synth in it and it was our favorite song when the Cubs game came on. It was their opening song in, I believe, 1984. 🎶 Cyd
Henrik uses some sort of system to change his bass/synth tones automatically in a pre-programmed way, and when I saw them in Boston in March it malfunctioned during his first solo so he didn't really have any effects. It meant I didn't get to hear the full intended solo live, but he made up for it by joking about it later, saying "so I have a really cool system to do all the sounds for my bass, and now you know what it sounds like when that doesn't work" :D
Too bad you missed them on their North American tour. I saw them back in April in Denver, and it was awesome! Aron's drum tech is unbelievable. The crack of the snare that cut through everything was the best sounding snare I've ever heard at a concert in any venue. Not to mention they're musicality, of course. And Henrik told the crowd a story about how he learned how to drive when he was a teenager on the streets of Denver (while living with his sister and brother-in-law for a summer or something) in a beat-up pickup where he had to hold the door closed when turning because it wouldn't completely shut. lol
So bummed we just barely missed their tour. Happy you had the chance to see them and thanks for sharing the fun Henrick story!! Hard to imagine him in that truck !! 😍😭❤️🥷
Hi Jeremy & Jillian. Check out Henrique on Bass in this clip. ua-cam.com/video/kkmqgKAoB6s/v-deo.html I'm eighty one years old and love what Dirty loops are bringing to the table. Classicaly trained yet full of funk. My love of music started a long time ago but I have followed the progression with a passion which has brought me too Dirty Loops. I downloaded their first recordings way back and have really enjoyed their journey into the commercial side of the music industry.
